Schiff - Complainant may not testify at all?

“Given that we already have the call record, we don’t need the whistleblower who wasn’t on the call to tell us what took place during the call, we have the best evidence of that,” Schiff said on “Face the Nation.” “It may not be necessary to take steps that might reveal the whistleblower’s identity to do that, and we’re going to make sure we protect that whistleblower.

So basically we have now moved the goalposts from allegations of some underhanded nefarious "quid pro quo" to pressure the Ukrainian President to dig up dirt on Biden, to the idea that talking to the Ukrainian President and mentioning a previously closed investigation is now a "high crime or misdemeanor".

Instead of having additional information that would undermine the credibility of the transcripts and show that the President engaged in this horrifying "quid pro quo" with congressionally approved military aid, apparently these people actually have no such information regarding "quid pro quo" or anything else for that matter. Therefor, they would be conveniently not required to actually testify.

The truth is that Schiff and the Democrats now know that if it does turn out that the so called whistle blower is a Biden supporter who previously worked with him while he was at the White House, that the credibility of this person (and the overall allegations) will take a substantial hit.

After all, once the dust settles, all the Democrats really have as their allegations is that Trump "talked" about the possibility of doing something that the Obama/Biden Administration actually "did" to Donald Trump in 2016. By liberal logic, it was perfectly acceptable for the Obama/Biden administration to investigate Trump and his associates non-stop through the 2016 campaign, but any hint of investigating Hunter Biden or anyone associated with Biden is an impeachable offense.

You can't make this shit up...

I guess it just keeps going over Ch's head that the value of the original whistleblower's testimony is not his or her own personal first-hand knowledge of what the President said and did, but rather the whistleblower's first-hand knowledge OF OTHERS WHO HAVE BETTER FIRST-HAND KNOWLEDGE of what the President said and did.

THEY need to testify, then, not the original whistleblower who never claimed to have first hand direct knowledge of the President's conversation.

That's really very simple. Too bad Ch's prejudiced brain wattage can't compute it.

________
Moreover, there are now other whistleblowers emerging who have better, irrefutable knowledge to which they can testify.

Oh please Denny...

The only reason Democrats don't want this person made public is because everyone knows he is a Democratic stooge.

Well James...

Apparently it goes over Schiff's head as well, because he seems to believe that nobody with any knowledge of anything has to testify.

If all they got is that the phone call was made and the transcripts are accurate... then they got what the little boy shot at and missed.

They can play their "behind the scenes" games, with the leak here and there to help their cause. But at the end of the day, this thing WILL be exposed for exactly what it is.

Another blatant display of TDS hypocrisy.

What's okay to "do to Trump" is perfectly acceptable, but a High Crime or Misdemeanor when it "might" happen to a Democrat.

When President Trump announced his decision to pull troops from northern Syria, his critics immediately warned that the move would pave the way for a Turkish offensive with potentially catastrophic repercussions.
State Department officials swiftly denied that Trump supported the Turkish incursion. Meanwhile, Trump appeared convinced he had made the right choice.
“Turkey, Europe, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Russia and the Kurds will now have to figure the situation out,” Trump wrote.
They now indeed are, but not to the advantage of the United States.
“What’s clear is that the U.S. has shot itself into the foot,” said Ali Fathollah-Nejad, a visiting fellow at the Brookings Doha Center.
Who are likely winners?
The U.S. pullout has enabled Turkey to pursue its military incursion without having to fear U.S. interference, but it has also created opportunities for four of the United States’ key foes: Iran, the Assad regime, Russia and — potentially — the Islamic State group.
AD

Who is set to lose most?
The biggest losers — it appears at this stage — are the allies who fought alongside U.S. soldiers in Syria: Europe and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The former are afraid the move will free Islamic State prisoners held in Kurdish prisons and camps and expose Europe to new militant attacks after a period of relative calm. The latter had established a de facto state in the north of Syria during the past years — in large parts in places previously ruled by the Islamic State. The Kurds hoped their territory was somewhat protected by a U.S. military presence that acted as a deterrent.

I Went to Syria and Met the People Trump Just Gave Turkey Permission to Kill

An anarchist revolution—and the Americans volunteering to defend it.

Barry has been a volunteer fighter with the Kurdish YPG forces for more than the six months he’d signed up for. It is, he thinks, “the best thing someone who considers themselves a militant leftist can do right now with their life.” This is his first time in the Middle East. Back in the United States, Barry was part of the antifa movement. He would brawl with fascists, sometimes carrying a concealed gun to protests “just in case.” It was in these circles that Barry first heard about Rojava, the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northeast Syria that has become a cause célèbre in anarchist circles. Its name means “the west,” referring to the western part of the stateless Kurdish homeland that straddles Syria, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. Those governments have repressed the Kurds’ long-standing desire for independence, with measures ranging from a ban on the Kurdish language to Saddam Hussein’s extermination of as many as 182,000 Kurds in the 1980s.

The ideological inspiration for the Rojava project is Abdullah Öcalan, the founder of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). When Barry first encountered Öcalan’s writings back home, certain ideas spoke to him. For Öcalan, capitalism was an “inherent component” of the nation-state. What was needed, he argued, was “democracy without the state.” “I saw it as an anarchist revolution,” Barry tells me.

Today, it is nearly impossible to drive down a street in the Kurdish parts of Syria without seeing Öcalan’s face smiling through a bushy mustache. He is stenciled on walls, plastered on billboards, and stuck on cellphone cases. The United States considers his group a terrorist organization, but his image is often patched on the uniforms of the militiamen who guard coalition bases and carry weapons provided by the Americans.

WASHINGTON — American commandos were working alongside Kurdish forces at an outpost in eastern Syria last year when they were attacked by columns of Syrian government tanks and hundreds of troops, including Russian mercenaries. In the next hours, the Americans threw the Pentagon’s arsenal at them, including B-52 strategic bombers. The attack was stopped.

That operation, in the middle of the American-led campaign against the Islamic State in Syria, showed the extent to which the United States military was willing to protect the Syrian Kurds, its main ally on the ground.

But now, with the White House revoking protection for these Kurdish fighters, some of the Special Forces officers who battled alongside the Kurds say they feel deep remorse at orders to abandon their allies.

“They trusted us and we broke that trust,” one Army officer who has worked alongside the Kurds in northern Syria said last week in a telephone interview. “It’s a stain on the American conscience.”

I'll put my faith in these guys not a dumb fuck who sells insurance because that is all he can do!!!!!!
