To be perfectly clear!

I agree with Don Jr here. These people are just as stupid, irresponsible, and un-American as Antifa and BLM are when they do the same thing. I judge actions. I don't just take a side and defend it at all cost..
My only question here is whether or not Donald J Trump is in agreement with his son or if he is encouraging or otherwise supporting this sort of behavior. There is little question he provided rhetoric that could certainly be seen as no better than the sort of rhetoric used by the left to move their people to unneeded violence.

My brother knows people who were going to this rally. He says that everyone he talked to was convinced that something big was happening. Generally there were expecting some big announcement of proof of fraud or some idea that Pence and gang had something up their sleeve that would overturn the results. I told him that they would be disappointed and that all these expectations would lead to is a lot of angry people.

The U.S. Capitol locked down Wednesday with lawmakers inside as violent clashes broke out between supporters of President Donald Trump and police.

An announcement was played inside the Capitol as lawmakers were meeting and expected to vote to affirm Joe Biden's victory. Due to an “external security threat,” no one could enter or exit the Capitol complex, the recording said.

Both chambers abruptly went into recess.

The skirmishes occurred outside in the very spot where president-elect Biden will be inaugurated in just two weeks.

Protesters tore down metal barricades at the bottom of the Capitol’s steps and were met by officers in riot gear. Some tried to push past the officers who held shields and officers could be seen firing pepper spray into the crowd to keep them back. Some in the crowd were shouting “traitors” as officers tried to keep them back.

A suspicious package was also reported in the area, Capitol Police said.

After four years of tolerating President Donald Trump’s boundless propensity for conspiracy and recklessness toward government institutions, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell drew the line at the very moment Trump’s power seems most on the wane.

Calling President Trump and his allies’ claims of election fraud “extraordinarily thin,” McConnell (R-KY) cast the effort to overturn the 2020 election results in his chamber as an existential challenge for the country that would “damage our republic forever” if successful.

Speaking from the Senate floor on Wednesday, McConnell laced into Trump—and those 11 senators within his ranks who have rebelled against his leadership by backing a plot to twist the Senate’s perfunctory role in certifying the election into a last-ditch way to keep Trump in power.

"The Constitution gives us here in Congress a limited role,” said McConnell. “We cannot simply declare ourselves a national board of elections on steroids.”

With Trump days away from leaving office, McConnell broke with the president in this speech in an unequivocal, forceful fashion—something he has largely avoided over the last four years, as Trump unleashed a myriad of challenges to the country’s institutions and made clear his propensity for spreading the lies and conspiracies that McConnell is now decrying as a threat.

“President Trump claims the election was stolen. The assertions range from specific local allegations to constitutional arguments to sweeping conspiracy theories,” said McConnell. “I supported the president’s right to use the legal system… over and over the courts rejected these claims, including also the judges the president himself nominated.”

The Kentucky senator warned that “our democracy would enter a death spiral” if the GOP insurrection took hold. “Every four years would be a scramble for power at any cost.”

Pence Says He Has No Power to Reject Electoral Votes
January 6, 2021 at 1:08 pm EST

Vice President Pence, in a letter to Congress on Wednesday, said he does not believe he has the “unilateral authority” to reject electoral votes, dealing a final blow to President Trump’s push for Pence to overturn the election result, The Hill reports.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) began Senate debate over Arizona’s 11 electoral votes with an emotional plea against rejecting the voters’ will, the Washington Post reports.

Said McConnell: “Nothing before us proves illegality anywhere near the massive scale — the massive scale — that would have tipped the entire election. Nor can public doubt alone justify a radical break when the doubt itself was incited without any evidence.”

He added: “Voters, the courts, and the states have all spoken — they’ve all spoken. If we overrule them, it would damage our republic forever… our democracy would enter a death spiral.”

Lawmakers Evacuated from Their Offices

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) tweets that she was evacuated from her office: “Now we’re seeing protesters assaulting Capitol Police. This is wrong. This is not who we are. I’m heartbroken for our nation today.”

Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA) also tweets: “I just had to evacuate my office because of a pipe bomb reported outside. Supporters of the President are trying to force their way into the Capitol and I can hear what sounds like multiple gunshots.”

i wish that were true. no equivalence will ever be drawn between today and antifa/blm.

This Is a Coup

David Graham:
“Armed assailants are attacking the seat of American government in an attempted coup, urged on by the president of the United States.
Saying that feels melodramatic, ridiculous, and overwrought, but there’s no plainer way to describe what is currently unfolding.

“Tens of thousands of supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump gathered in Washington, D.C., where he encouraged them to attend a rally as Congress began to ceremonially certify the Electoral College victory of President-elect Joe Biden. After a speech by the president, protesters overran security at the Capitol building, which seemed unprepared for the onslaught. They knocked over barricades, pushed past cordons of officers, and broke windows. Some carried Confederate battle flags as they got much closer to the heart of the U.S. government than any Confederate troops ever did.

“Certification was halted.
The Senate and House chambers were locked down,
Vice President Mike Pence was whisked away,
and demonstrators roamed the halls of Congress.
Tear gas was reportedly released inside the Capitol Rotunda,
and members were told to don gas masks under their seats.

“This attempted coup is Trump’s fault.”

Biden calls Capitol riot ‘insurrection,’ urges Trump to ‘end siege’ -
live updates USA TODAY
Wed, January 6, 2021, 3:34 PM CST

President-elect Joe Biden called the rioting Wednesday at the U.S. Capitol “insurrection” and “chaos,” and he told President Donald Trump to go on national television to urge his supporters to end their siege.

“What we’re seeing is a small number of extremists dedicated to lawlessness. This is not dissent, it’s disorder, it’s chaos. It borders on sedition. And it must end, now,” Biden said from The Queen theater in Wilmington, Delaware. “I call on this mob to pull back now and allow the work of democracy to go forward.”

Biden called on Trump to go on national television to urge his supporters “to demand an end to this siege.”

“It’s not protest, it’s insurrection,” said Biden, a former 36-year senator and former vice president who presided over the Electoral College count in 2017 that seated Trump.

He said the rioting with smashed windows and rummaging through Senate desks didn’t reflect a true America. Rioters swarmed the Capitol, storming the House and Senate chambers on the second floor of the building with shouts and flags. At least one rioter entered the Senate chamber and shouted from the dais: “Trump won the election.”

“At this hour, our democracy is under unprecedented assault, unlike anything we’ve seen in modern times, an assault on the citadel of liberty, the Capitol itself; an assault on the people’s representatives, the Capitol Hill police, sworn to protect them; the public servants who work at the heart of our republic; an assault on the rule of law like few times we’ve ever seen it,” Biden said.

After Biden left the stage, he returned to voice confidence in his inauguration.

“I am not concerned about my safety, security or the inauguration,” Biden said. “The American people are going to stand up now. Enough is enough is enough.”
– Bart Jansen

I am glad I am someone who keeps my cool and has no issues living with my own personal choices (including condemning any and all rioting and political violence without the "yeah buts" that you and your ilk depend on). It's almost as if the hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars of destruction to our cities over the past few months never happened.

A few people storming into the Capital (obviously planning on delaying the certification of the election) is not how things are done. I have condemned and will continue to condemn them taking any building by force or attempting to physically overwhelm law enforcement. It should not be done under any circumstances.

But so far the only injury I have heard about was a women who was shot in the neck by a police officer (and that shooting will not inspire any rioting from Antifa). So to act as of the billions of dollars of damage to our country's infrastructure (not to mention all of the looting) was acceptable, but this is much worse... well that makes no sense what-so-ever.

Ivanka Trump Calls Violent Mob ‘American Patriots’
January 6, 2021 at 4:40 pm EST By Taegan Goddard

Pence to mob storming Capitol:

'Immediately leave the building'
Vice President Mike Pence urged protesters to leave the Capitol after Trump supporters breached security perimeters and Pence and lawmakers had to be evacuated from House and Senate chambers.

“The violence and destruction taking place at the US Capitol Must Stop and it Must Stop Now,” Pence tweeted. “Anyone involved must respect Law Enforcement officers and immediately leave the building.”

Pence said that while every American has the right to protest peacefully, “this attack on our Capitol will not be tolerated and those involved will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Democrat leaders said that message needs to be sent by Pence’s boss.

“We are calling on President Trump to demand that all protestors leave the U.S. Capitol and Capitol Grounds immediately,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said in a joint statement.

Before the protesters entered the Capitol, Trump had called Pence a coward for saying he would not break the rules to try to block Congress from counting Trump’s loss.

Shortly after tweeting that Pence “didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done,” Trump tweeted that everyone should “stay peaceful!”

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in a tweet the National Guard is on its way.

Trump Should Be Impeached and Removed Now
John Podhoretz, writing for Commentary:

“Donald Trump unleashed a mob on Capitol Hill. What he has done is without precedent in American history. Even if he had seven minutes left in his presidency, he should not be permitted to spend another second as the President. Nancy Pelosi should call an emergency session of the House tonight and impeach the president, and Mitch McConnell should convene the Senate tomorrow and call a vote to remove Trump from the presidency.”

SHAMEFUL DAY.

President Trump seems determined to leave office in a manner that vindicates the vile accusations hurled at him by his opponents over the past four years. After a speech rehearsing his electoral grievances and calling on his vice president to abrogate his ministerial duty today, some of the assembled multitude followed the logic of Trump’s grievances and stormed the Capitol.

The House and Senate chambers have been breached. Someone has been shot inside the Capitol. The presidential election certification proceedings have been interrupted.

Events have a revolutionary feel. Where’s Trump? Trump has tweeted asking for peace, but is otherwise missing in action at present.

President Trump apparently has no family or friends who can talk him out of the course he has chosen to follow. Order will be restored, but not before the stench of disgrace has attached itself to President Trump for his part in this shameful day.

UPDATE: President Trump has released a recorded statement reiterating his grievances and asking his supporters to go home.

Via Tim Haims/RealClearPolitics.

JOHN adds: I take it that this is the statement Scott refers to. Trump urges his supporters to go home peacefully (while repeating his charges of election fraud), but Twitter has blocked it from retweets, likes and replies “due to a risk of violence.”

2. It's shameful for Democrats, the media, and RINOs to blame any of this on the president or his congressional and media allies.

No one other than President Donald Trump himself is more responsible for Wednesday’s coup attempt at the U.S. Capitol than one Joshua David Hawley, the 41-year-old junior senator from Missouri, who put out a fundraising appeal while the siege was underway.

This, Sen. Hawley, is what law-breaking and destruction look like. This is what mobs do. This is not a protest, but a riot. One woman was shot and has died, The Washington Post reported, while lawmakers were sheltering in place.

No longer can it be asked, as George Will did recently of Hawley, “Has there ever been such a high ratio of ambition to accomplishment?” Hawley’s actions in the last week had such impact that he deserves an impressive share of the blame for the blood that’s been shed.

Hawley was first to say that he would oppose the certification of Joe Biden’s Electoral College win. That action, motivated by ambition, set off much that followed — the rush of his fellow presidential aspirant Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and other members of the Sedition Caucus to put a show of loyalty to the president above all else.

After mayhem broke out, Hawley put out this uncharacteristically brief statement: “Thank you to the brave law enforcement officials who have put their lives on the line. The violence must end, those who attacked police and broke the law must be prosecuted, and Congress must get back to work and finish its job.” So modest, Senator, failing to note your key role in inspiring one of the most heartbreaking days in modern American history. We lost something precious on Wednesday, as condolence notes to our democracy from our friends around the world recognize.

Among those Hawley got to emulate him was Kansas Sen. Roger Marshall, whose very first act as a member of the world’s greatest deliberative body was to sell out his country by attempting to overturn the outcome of a legitimate election.

This revolt is the result, and if you didn’t know this is where we’ve been headed from the start, it’s because you didn’t want to know.

“The Frankenstein just tore down the doors to the palace,” U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Democrat from Missouri, told The Star. Which happened because, as he said, “One-third of the nation has bought into a bald-faced lie, and they are living in a fact-free America.”

“I’m currently safe and sheltering in place while we wait to receive further instruction from Capitol Police,” tweeted U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids, a Democrat from Kansas. “Today is a dark day for our country. It’s unacceptable that we have a President who has repeatedly condoned and even encouraged this despicable behavior. It must stop.”

We’ll say again what Davids is too polite to say: Trump did not manage this madness on his own. Far from it.

Got anything intelligent to say?

Angry Republican leaders float removing Trump from office
CNN 9:50 PM Washington
After violent pro-Trump protesters stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday, a growing number of Republican leaders and Cabinet officials told CNN that they believe Donald Trump should be removed from office before January 20. Four of them called for the 25th Amendment to be invoked, and two others said the President should be impeached.

"He has to be impeached and removed," said one current Republican elected official.
A former senior official said the President's actions were egregious enough to remove him even with such a short time left in his tenure.

"I think this has been a huge shock to the system," said the former official. "How do you keep him in place for two weeks after this?"

By impeaching and removing Trump, even at this late stage of his term, the Senate could subsequently vote to disqualify Trump from ever holding federal office again. On the other hand, invoking the 25th Amendment would require Vice President Mike Pence and a majority of the Cabinet to vote to remove Trump from office due to his inability to "discharge the powers and duties of his office" -- an unprecedented step.

Some Cabinet members are holding preliminary discussions about invoking the 25th Amendment, a well-placed GOP source told CNN.
The discussions are ongoing but it's unclear if there will be enough Cabinet members to result in Trump's removal. The conversations have reached Capitol Hill where some senators have been made aware of the discussions, the source said.
Within minutes of protestors breaching the Capitol on Wednesday afternoon, Republicans were revisiting the idea of removing Trump from office, a choice that nearly all of them passed on making a year ago during last year's impeachment trial.

The forceful denunciations of Trump are also unprecedented. Former President George W. Bush, who has kept a low profile, released a strongly-worded rebuke Wednesday evening calling the "insurrection" at the Capitol a "sickening and heartbreaking sight." While not mentioning Trump by name, Bush said he was "appalled by the reckless behavior of some political leaders since the election and by the lack of respect shown today for our institutions, our traditions, and our law enforcement."

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Mitt Romney, the Utah senator who was the only Republican to vote to convict the President on an article of impeachment last year, went further, calling the President a "selfish man" who "deliberately misinformed his supporters" about the election. Romney also called the attack on the Capitol an "insurrection" and blamed Trump, saying he "stirred [supporters] to action this very morning."

Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, a member of the House leadership, echoed Romney's anger and frustration at Trump. "There is no question that the President formed the mob. The President incited the mob, the President addressed the mob," said Cheney on Fox News. "He lit the flame."

Facebook, Twitter and YouTube took action on Trump's posts amid riots at the US Capitol
And Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, an otherwise staunch ally of Trump's, was unsparing. "It's past time for the president to accept the results of the election, quit misleading the American people, and repudiate mob violence," Cotton said.
Other Republicans on Capitol Hill were furious as well with the President.

"The President needs to call it off," Rep. Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin told CNN's Jake Tapper. "Call it off! It's over. The election is over."

Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois dismissed Trump's Wednesday afternoon tweet asking rioters at the Capitol to "remain peaceful."

"That's cowardice," Kinzinger told Tapper. "He needs to stand up and say, I lost the election, let the count go ahead."

But as Trump seems unlikely to make those concessions, two longtime Republican activists and allies of the White House said the President must go.
"Pence should move against him on the 25th Amendment," said one.

"They need to invoke the 25th Amendment immediately," said the other.

We need to be clear about what has just happened at the U.S. Capitol. This was not a protest by “American Patriots,” the words used by Ivanka Trump in a now-deleted tweet. This was a violent and unlawful insurrection by a seditious mob bent on preventing the House and Senate from certifying the election results that will make Joe Biden the next president of the United States.

This is far worse than anything that antifa or any other left-wing group has done. It has nothing in common with the protests that swept the country last year after the killing of George Floyd — and which Republicans cited as evidence of an impending communist revolution. The invasion of the Capitol was a genuine and terrifying attack on our democracy the likes of which we have not seen in our lifetimes.
We also need to be clear about who was responsible for this attempted coup: not just President Trump but also his enablers in the executive branch, Congress and the media.

Trump invited his followers to come to Washington on Wednesday for a “big protest” premised on the false assumption that the election was stolen from him. “Be there, will be wild!” he tweeted on Dec 19. On Tuesday, he tweeted: “I hope the Democrats, and even more importantly, the weak and ineffective RINO section of the Republican Party, are looking at the thousands of people pouring into D.C. They won’t stand for a landslide election victory to be stolen.”

When his followers did show up on the Mall on Wednesday, Trump incited them further, telling them: “We will never give up. We will never concede. It will never happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved. Our country has had enough. We will not take it anymore.” He castigated his own vice president, Mike Pence, for refusing to exceed his constitutional authority by not certifying the electoral votes of states that Trump lost. “We are going to have to fight much harder,” Trump said, and urged the assembled multitudes to march on the Capitol.

It is on Trump’s head that by Wednesday afternoon, his followers had surged past the overwhelmed Capitol Police to invade America’s citadel of democracy. The scenes that unfolded looked like something out of a horror movie, with police clashing with the attackers and members of Congress having to stop their proceedings and flee to safety.

Max Boot said...

Pleas from his own aides and members of Congress from both parties finally led Trump to issue a mealy-mouthed videotaped appeal to the mob to “go home.” But he refused to give up his false and incendiary claims that the election was stolen, and he paid tribute to the odious attackers: “We love you. You’re very special.” This was very much reminiscent of his ambivalent response to the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville in 2017 — “very fine people on both sides,” he said.

The leader of our government is inciting an assault on it. He is resorting to mob rule to tear down the rule of law. This is sedition, and it cannot be ignored. Congress needs to finish certifying the election results and then move on to the urgent business at hand — impeaching Trump for a second time. There are only 14 days left in his term, but that is enough time to act — not only to remove Trump from office but also to prevent him from running again. This is precisely the kind of “high crime and misdemeanor” that the impeachment clause of the Constitution was designed to address.

Or, failing that, Pence and a majority of the Cabinet can invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump. Perhaps now that the vice president and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have been terrorized by Trump supporters, they will understand the danger that this aspiring authoritarian poses.

But whatever happens with the president, we must never forget the responsibility of his enablers for the ugly events of Wednesday. This would never have happened if Fox “News,” OAN, Newsmax, Mark Levin, the Daily Wire and all the rest had not been spreading poisonous lies to allege that the election was stolen. This would never have happened if more than 100 members of the House and at least 13 senators had not endorsed those theories by announcing that they would not certify the election results in battleground states that Trump lost. Members of the Sedition Caucus such as Sens. Ted Cruz (Tex.) and Josh Hawley (Mo.) should see their careers crash and burn, as Sen. Joe McCarthy’s did, for their shameful and cynical assault on the Constitution.

This was a day of infamy for American democracy. We can only hope that some good comes out of it by causing a backlash against the Trumpist attempt to pervert our most vital institutions. Many of us have been warning of the danger for years — only to have our words dismissed as overly alarmist, even hysterical. It is now clear that the only people who have been suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” are those who have refused to acknowledge the danger from this American fascism.

The election is over.

The Congress confirmed that victory of Biden and Kamala Harris

Shortly after Congress affirmed Biden’s win, Trump pledged an “an orderly transition.” The statement, tweeted by White House social media director Dan Scavino as Trump remained locked out of his own Twitter account, stops short of conceding or congratulating Biden.
“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th,” Trump said, noting that Congress’s action “represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history.”
In the final moments of the joint session, Senate Chaplain Barry C. Black said a prayer lamenting “the desecration of the United States Capitol building, the shedding of innocent blood, the loss of life and the quagmire of dysfunction that threaten our democracy,” and Vice President Pence gaveled the meeting to a close, as the Democrats present gave only a half-hearted show of applause.

so the capitol police have murdered an unarmed 14 year Air Force veteran.

i eagerly await the 'SAY HER NAME' rallies and subsequent outrage. and of course the arrest of the murdering officer for, or course, murder. he didn't just kneel on her neck, he SHOT HER in the fucking neck. while unarmed, and not tripping on 14 fucking narcotics.

oh wait.

she was WHITE, and not involved with a drug-dealing scumbag.

never mind.

And for the record, no, I will not condemn the protesters. Should they have gone into the Capitol? I don’t know. Why shouldn’t they have? It’s not like they went and hanged the corruptocrats using their own intestines as ropes. They might — or might not. Really, do you trust the reporting? In this time, in this place? — have broken windows. And then walked, carefully between the ropes? Sure, why not. Let’s roll with that narrative. They might have made a mess of Nancy Ice Cream Pelosi’s office. Maybe. Again…. reporting?

You know what they didn’t do? They didn’t kill anyone. That was reserved for someone who shot through a door sidelight at a protester. You know what else they didn’t do? Use live ammo. You know what else they didn’t do? Trample the flag, which the capitol police did, while being begged not to. You know what else they didn’t do? shine lasers in cops eyes, set fire to the building, loot it, or shoot fireworks at people.

Spare me your pearl clutching. How do you propose we get our republic back if demonstrations are “rude?” When they committed blatant fraud in two elections, right before our eyes, and thereby abolished the representative part of the republic, and with it the constitutional part, what are you going to do? Write them strongly worded letters? Or wait till they fraud 2022 just as blatantly, while you stand around being utterly stunned?

It’s time to ditch the Marquis de Queensberry rules. It’s time to stop fighting with our feet in a bucket. Yes, what happened today was very very bad. Yes, it means that what comes next will probably come with a butcher’s bill. I have sons in military age. I’m not thrilled.

BUT the fault is not of the protesters. The fault is of the corruptocrats, yes, including the Supreme Court Justices, every one of them who found it easier to roll over for fraud and not let the ridiculous level of fraud in the elections have its day in court.

If you’re going to clutch pearls and tut tut do so at those who passed the buck, refused to do their jobs or sided with the left in the hopes of being eaten last.

The angry Americans, many of them despoiled out of their livelihoods by the elite’s Covid-19 fun and games designed to destroy the economy so they could steal the election, are the least guilty here. It’s quite likely — if G-d watches out for fools, children, and the United States of America — they’ll be held up as heroes some day.

Perspective, please.

anonymous said...

Can you imagine the blood bath if the rioters were BLM protesters rather than all white proud boys who support trump???????

anonymous said...

Trump and his rioters set the US back 50 years with the hatred demonstrated by the party you support and are part of.....God you people are sick, mindless fucking idiots!!!!!!!!!

mid the chaos and mayhem at our nation’s Capitol, the flags flew high. Dangerous. Despicable. And familiar.
The day had begun with the results of Georgia’s runoff elections, in which Raphael Warnock was a projected winner and fellow Democrat Jon Ossoff declared victory. In the aftermath of his success, Warnock reflected on the hopeful history he had just made, as the first African American senator from Georgia. The country had come so far, a journey measured by the life of his 82-year-old mother, who had gone from picking cotton for the benefit of overseers to casting a vote for her son for the betterment of her country.
Ossoff, who had interned with the civil rights icon John Lewis, would make history, too. He would by nightfall be projected to become the state’s first Jewish senator.
But our grievous history is relentless. And so is hate.
AD
The rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol in hopes of holding on to a past — both near and distant. They hoisted Trump flags aloft because it is he to whom they’ve pledged their allegiance, refusing to accept his defeat in the November election. “USA!” “USA!” they cried. These violent and angry mobs of men and women called themselves patriots — despoiling a beautiful and mighty word — as they clambered up inauguration scaffolding, shattered windows and wreaked terror in the nation’s capital in the name of a single wretched man and his delusions of greatness. They held signs that declared “Jesus Saves,” using religion to justify their attempted coup.
“Fight for Trump!” they chanted. And they let Confederate flags fly on the Capitol steps and inside its hallowed halls, making it plain just how they define the man and the real Americans for whom they claim to be standing firm.

well BWAA, when junkie floyd overdosed the left saw fit to begin burning down American.

we had chaz/chop, we had burning, looting and murder from coast to fucking coast.

and the media repeatedly told us that all of it, ALL OF IT, was mostly peaceful.

justified is not the word i'd use, but anyone who is honest, and you're not, would have to admit that the precedent for it had been set, and that those who stormed the capitol were simply following an established and accepted behavior as defined by the left and our media.

and as a bonus for you guys, you scored the murder of a white woman. boy, i guess you really checked HER fucking white privilege, eh? let's see THAT cop brought up on murder charges. let's see HER death protested coast to coast. LOL. just kidding. you enjoy the double standard that's beyond our reach. no, her name will be forgotten by the weekend.

so spare me your sanctimonious bullshit BWAA. you condemn yesterday while applauding the riots of the past six months. that just makes you a hypocritical asshole.

Even Hugh Hewitt thinks trump is an asshole!!!!!!!

When Trump supporters gathered in D.C. this week to “Stop the Steal,” it is hard to imagine that more than a tiny fraction intended violence. But some surely did, and they chose their moment with fierce intent. Congress had gathered to certify the election of President-elect Joe Biden, a ceremonial process that has in recent cycles on occasion developed a counterpoint ritual of objection and debate.
But the objectors in 2004 or 2016 did not object on behalf of a contender so indifferent to the facts of vote counts, court decisions and public opinion as Trump.
I do not believe the president intended today’s riot. It has done him, and his hopes for a future political comeback, great damage. If he did not foresee what the people in the outer fringes of his support were capable of, he ought to have seen it. As it unfolded, he ought to have been quick to condemn it. And he should have done so without any sort of mention of his own grievances.
AD

His subsequent evening tweet (since taken down by Twitter) bordered on incomprehensible indifference to the mayhem of the day and the death that is a consequence of the violence. He ought to be filled with remorse.
The president stoked emotions even as Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) and others were set to object to the certification of some electoral college votes and air the grievances he alleges. Before they could make their case, the mob struck.
The country is shamed. The criminals should be prosecuted. Trespassing at the Capitol and menacing elected representatives are crimes. Examples must be made so it cannot happen again.
