Andrew Cuomo was the original Covid fuck up. His state still resides in second place in total deaths and second place in deaths per million. By all objective standards, Cuomo failed and failed miserably in his response to Covid in the state of New York. But in spite of objectively showing numbers that are literally impossible to defend, many felt Cuomo was the god of Covid. He even won an "Emmy" for his press briefings where he explained how he was killing people.
Why is that?
Largely because he was the "anti-Trump" Governor. Other than a couple of times where he broke down in a fit of honesty and praised the President, Cuomo was non-stop about blaming Trump for everything he was fucking up. When it comes to the choice between saving lives and attacking Trump for the average liberal, well that is a no contest. Let Americans die. Just don't let Trump get away without taking some shots.
But like so many things that we now see with a new perspective since Trump has gone away, it has become obvious that the "anti-Trump" Governor was in fact a complete and total failure. Now that there is no reason to praise him anymore and there is no Republicans for him to blame, Cuomo has suddenly (in the eyes of everyone) become responsible for his own actions. Once people actually blamed Cuomo for what Cuomo did, then I guess this was always inevitable.
The strange thing is that if Trump has won reelection. Cuomo would probably still be popular, the left would still be praising him, and the current nursing home fiasco would be written off as Trump trying to pass the buck and blame Cuomo for his ongoing mistakes.

At least 30 Taliban militants have died in Afghanistan after they blew themselves up during a bomb-making class.
The Khaama Press News Agency said the fighters died when Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) they were learning to construct exploded inside a mosque, quoting a release from the Afghan Army's 209th Shaheen Corps.
The blast happened on Saturday morning at a mosque in the village of Qultaq in the Dowlatabad district of Balkh province.
The fighters included six foreign nationals.

Cuomo was fêted the press while they continued to condemnRon De Santis for his handling of the pandemic. Turns out De Santis did what was right for Florida buy moving to protect senior citizens and make sure they get first priority for the vaccime.
And yet there are still some people in the liberal press who say De Santis is "hiding" despite being the most transparent state in the nation. with COVID-19 data.
And if the Democrats think they can poached De Santis' seat, they got another think coming. According to a recent poll, DeSantis is more popular than Trump and Trump took the state by 20 points.

also note that the NYT waited until AFTER Trump was acquitted to retract the Sicknick "murder" story. Had he been convicted they would've let it stand.

It Trump runs then it's all over for the nomination. If Trump doesn't run, then it will get interesting.
Thinking DeSantis will jump in if he doesn't. None of the seven GOP senators or Nikki Haley have a snowball's chance in hell after they broke with Trump.
The Trump voter was always there (remember the tea party movement). But the days of stringing them along for their votes and then ignoring them after the election are over.
And despite the continual calling Trump a racist, he as done more to brings blacks and hispanics into the Republican party then any other GOP candidate.
Most of New York's deaths came in the early days of the pandemic, when public health officials were trying to figure out how the coronavirus was spreading.
Is he blameless? Science is based upon the evidence for research.
Most of current infections per capita are found in rural and red states like North Dakota and South Dakota, my home state.
This is representatives of hatred for liberals.
And his refusal to stay anything against Trump.
The Republican party is a cult. Instead of the conservative party I remember.
