This requires an unwilling suspension of disbelief
I've heard spin before. But for the life of me, I cannot get my arms around exactly what it is that they are trying to accomplish here. Robby Mook is suggesting that there would be no reason for Clinton to ask Huma Abedin what might have been on that laptop. Even if you believed that the story "might" be wrong, your first questions should be to Huma Abedin to confirm or deny them.
I can only hope that they expect other Democrats to play just as dumb and pretend that they too do not believe that this information came from Huma Abedin and that the only person who might know what is in these emails is Director Comey. This would be a suicidal walk down spinners lane.
Meanwhile, everyone and their brother knows that Huma Abedin "has" been asked, and that if the answer was a good one that they would release it to the public. This further lends itself to the notion that there was something serious that came up, and that it was serious enough to warrant further review and the letter in question informing people.
As has been pointed out. Comey possibly loses either way. If this situations swings the election to Trump, and then it turns out that the emails were much ado about nothing. Comey would be held responsible. If Comey not said anything, Clinton wins the election, and then it turns out that there was something there that leads to some sort of criminal indictment for Clinton or even one of her aids. Comey would also be held responsible. It looks to me like he is hedging a bigger bet against the latter than the former. I assume he knows more than what he is telling the public.

Huma, was in line to be first Lady , IF HER got elected.
Huma has stated , she does not know how those thousands of Emails got on her "shared " laptop and first phone.
Anthony her HUSBAND, does not have the clearance to access those Email, yet, he did.

Saturday on CNN while discussing the FBI reopening the investigation into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s use of a private unsecured email server during her tenure as secretary of state, former Assistant Director of the FBI Thomas Fuentes said, “The FBI has an intensive investigation ongoing into the Clinton Foundation.”
He added, “The FBI made the determination that the investigation would go forward as a comprehensive unified case and be coordinated, so that investigation is ongoing and Huma Abedin and her role and activities concerning secretary of state in the nature of the foundation and possible pay to play, that’s still being looked at and now."
the 2nd shoe drops.
KD the sad fact is that the FBI consolidated the investigation of the Clinton Foundation along with a couple of other things, to be handled by the main office. Not to intensify the investigation, but to make it easier to control and to devote fewer resources to it.
The Justice Department has denied the FBI any authority in this so-called intensive to use "aggressive methods" such as subpoenas, grand juries, court orders and so on. If fact, the Justice Department has tried to squash it entirely. While I'm sure that many FBI investigators are looking at influence pedaling laundered through the Foundation, whatever they're seeing isn't going anywhere.
Regarding the vast number of State emails on Huma/Wiener's laptop, the FBI has had them for weeks and has yet to acquire a court order to look at them. The Justice Department, obviously, is not cooperating. Huma Abedine's lawyers are already negotiating with the FBI - ask yourself why the FBI would need to negotiate when they already legally have possession of the evidence, instead of have a court OK it? If they even need a court's OK in this case, which is debatable? It can only be because of the influence of someone able to block the normal channels, and the usual suspect in this case is the Justice Department.
This election will be long over before any investigator examines these emails.
Ha, maybe I was wrong: just reported, according to "law enforcement officials" the FBI has obtained a search warrant to examine the emails.
Something shifted politically. Or is it just another rumor?
