Hard left warn Schumer Pelosi?

Why the DACA negotiations might fall apart

The buzz is that not only are some people on the right mad at Trump for working with the Democrats, but apparently there are people on the left furious with Democratic leadership for working with Trump.

After all, if those on the left truly believe the things they say about Donald Trump, then certainly he is not a person that you would want to do anything but oppose at every turn. Working "with" the monster does nothing more than "legitimize" him as a person, and ultimately "legitimize" him as a political leader.

The reality is that there are many people on the left still holding on to the concept that only good Donald Trump, is an ex-President Donald Trump. Their belief is that the only thing the Democrats should be working to accomplish is impeachment, removal under the 25th amendment, or possibly get him to simply resign in disgrace.  The idea of actually "working with him" like he is a legitimate President is repugnant to many of these people.

Whether it was a smart psychological move on his part, or it was a random accident... Trump has taken a large step towards this very concept of "legitimization" that many of his critics are working non-stop to avoid.

Everything from keeping the ever dwindling Russian investigation in the news, to reporting (like a soap opera) on the so called "White House Chaos"... is all part of a strategy to delegitimize the President and a transparent attempt to prevent him from gaining any traction in popular opinion. All that effort goes "poof" if the Democratic Senate and House minority leadership starts cutting deals with him.

The "cartoonist" who predicted Trump's climb to the White House, while he was just one of 13 different GOP candidates... suggested that Trump's first order of business as President (before he could truly move onto anything else) was to change the narrative from him being an illegitimate buffoon who was just trying to hang onto his job, to being simply a President that did things and held positions that many people disagreed with. In other words, a Politician.

If we see a bi-partisan law on immigration, that makes both sides somewhat happy and somewhat unhappy, and it leads to negotiating a new tax-bill (with everyone coming to the table)... then Trump will have not only accomplished legitimacy, but actually accomplished something our previous President couldn't (in eight years in office). He will have accomplished bi-partisanship on a major piece of legislation.

This is the main reason I question whether or not this so called "deal" will work out. After all, Trump is basically negotiating to "give back what he took away" in order to get something new that he wants. A pretty good negotiating stance, and if Trump ultimately gets tangible returns to give back what he took away, there will be plenty of angry liberals out there. (There will be plenty of angry conservatives too, but that's a different story). Those angry liberals will not be directing their displeasure at Trump, but at their Democratic leadership. I wonder if Chuck and Nancy have the courage to legitimize Trump (and his Presidency) all for the sake of a few hundred thousand people in immigration limbo?

Yes, because almost everything is on the table. Tax reform, immigration, even the wall.

I think that Trump is facing far more problems, within the GOP, than "Nancey and Chuck" will have.

And one more time, and I don't expect you to do the right thing, but allowing the idiot rrb to post a fake picture and total bs on the Legacy blog, and posting it over anything I post, that actually gets far more views than his hate filled crap. I have been trying to be different, no anti Trump, shit. Butr you let that asshold fuck up your blog with such ridiculous crap.

I know, your hatred towards me, because i DARE disagree with the alleged Colldheartedtruth. I still think your objectivity is gone, and it's based on many years of observation of you on soars and here.

Another reason your view is in dispute. Trump is cuddying up to "Nandy and Chuckd". There are fewer hate Trump only, Democrats, like me for example. Since he fired Bannon, and the General is getting his ear, and he's negotiating instead of just lashing out in anger.

The President is playing games to keep his base from a complete revolt, but in the end, he's going to negotiate and get passed, the laws to address everything except probably the ACA.

Ahem Roger...

"You mean like how you always had to write a hastily thrown together post to repute something you didn't like that I wrote?

(In other words, the main reason I split the two blogs)?

I hate to tell you this, Roger... but even your newly found need to throw the phrase "gaslighting" all over the place is a sign of impulsive behavior. At least, it sure looks impulsive to the rest of us.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... then Roger is still impulsive.

I think you're giving way too much credit to the influence of the "not my President" loons. Trump is not an "illegitimate buffoon", he is legitimately a buffoon who is President. Prodding the buffoon into the right direction is never a political mistake - that's a Republican perspective these day but I doubt that you'll get more than a WTF look with that from Democrats.

If your political victories all arise from dealing with the Democrats, I think that most Democrats are going to be all right with that.

wphamilton said...

Roger I'm not calling you out on this but I don't really understand. Isn't the unflattering photo that RRB posted implying was you the same one you earlier posted implying was of Trump? I don't see how what he did was different from what you did. Except for being in your face, where Trump will never see his.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

I may have posted implying was of Trump? If I did, I should not have done so. But that does not excuse our host letting rrb to post regarding my health and body type. I am 6'3" and weigh 190.I am in good condition, in both ways, although some of the crazier posters here can accept.

As to your comment on the host's post, we agree, the divisions in the Democratic party are no where near as those that are ripping the Republicans into shreds. Bannon is vowing to destroy the establishment, Rush and others are going after Trump in the right wing media, and are not forgiving of any bipartisanship with the Democrats. The Democrats are far more accepting of diverse views than the current Republican party, that has the alt-right and mainstream conservatives. The alt-right is over the top, Ann Coulter is calling for #impeachment.

Trump keeps contradicting himself, but the bottom line, he's going to work with the Democrats to achieve at least most of his agenda, even though it won't be as harsh as he was in the campaign. He's kind of pushing the GOP in two directions, the Dems for the most part, despite what CH says, are accepting "Chuck and Nancy" strategery LOL So to speak.

"This map currently shows that nationwide 63 counties are projected to have no issuers, representing over 70,000 Americans in these counties that could be without coverage on the Exchanges in 2018," the report said. "It is also projected that 1,472 counties—over 45 percent of counties nationwide—could have only one issuer in 2018. This could represent more than 2.6 million Exchange participants with only one health insurance option, which means they will not have any choices."

that iran nuke deal is turning out to be the greatest deal in the history of deals...

for iran and it's terror satellites.

Two years after the nuclear deal was signed by Iran and world powers, the Islamic Republic is reported to have boosted its financial support to Hezbollah to $800 million a year, a dramatic increase from the $200m. it was said to be giving its proxy when sanctions were in place.

Hezbollah, one of the most prominent terrorist organizations in the world, has become bogged down fighting in Syria for Bashar Assad. Of its approximately 22,000 fighters, about 7,000 are fighting for the Assad regime, and some 2,000 have been killed in the four years the group has spent in Syria.

The US and European countries lifted sanctions against Iran in January 2016, releasing roughly $100 billion in assets after international inspectors found that Iran had dismantled large parts of its nuclear program. According to US media, officials say President Donald Trump is ready to extend those waivers that were issued under the Obama administration.

Politico reported that the Democratic base is uncomfortable with Chuck and Nancy.

The Democratic base is growing anxious as its leaders order Chinese food and make deals with the president who many in their ranks would prefer to see impeached.

For some liberal activists and lawmakers, the burgeoning partnership between President Donald Trump and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi amounts to dancing with the devil. As long as the Democrats keep leading — driving a wedge between Trump and the fractured GOP — no one will bust up the dance.

But the sudden burst of bipartisanship could be perilous for Democrats. Already, immigration activists and Hispanic lawmakers are worried Democratic leaders will give too much ground in any deal to protect Dreamers. Progressives are also chiding Schumer and Pelosi for “normalizing” Trump, a man the party intends to run against hard in 2018 and 2020.

“Nothing Trump has done should change the fact that he’s pursuing a toxic agenda, that he has been and continues to be divisive and disastrous,” said Justin Krebs, campaign director at MoveOn.org. “The American people at large know that, and Democratic leaders should not forget that.”

Even within Schumer and Pelosi’s own caucuses, some Democrats are rattled.

“I am asserting that our base — our rank-and-file base — and a lot of us in the caucus, want to see ... or hear, periodically, that parameters are being set” in discussions with Trump, Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) said in an interview. “And we get alarmed at the speculation that this might be a new day dawning.”

“Let’s not fool ourselves,” Connolly added. “He is this person we know, and I just think there must be both political and moral limitations with how far we’re willing to cooperate with that.”

Schumer and Pelosi have made a concerted effort to loop in liberal groups that provided potent grass-roots backup in their successful fight against the GOP’s Obamacare repeal effort. But amid longtime skepticism on the left toward party leadership, the bonhomie Trump appears to share with the two top Democrats has put some on edge.

“Schumer and Pelosi often tend to be out of touch with the zeitgeist of the progressive movement,” said Murshed Zaheed, political director at the liberal group CREDO Action.

Zaheed predicted “fierce blowback” if activists perceive that the Democratic leaders have traded away their base’s priorities in any agreement with Trump.
