So called "bipartisan" subsidy agreement blows up...

Trump won't sign it - Ryan won't back it

I guess it takes more than two Senators to agree on something?

The reality here is that Trump, Ryan, and most of the GOP will want some tangible concessions before they are seen (to their voters) as caving in and funding Obamacare. For many conservatives, voting for a measure that would legislate tax-payer bailouts of the insurance companies (as they see it) would be political suicide.

Trump Promised, Never Gave $25K to Soldier’s Family

President Trump, "in a personal phone call to a grieving military father, offered him $25,000 and said he would direct his staff to establish an online fundraiser for the family, but neither happened,” the Washington Post reports.

“Chris Baldridge, the father of Army Cpl. Dillon Baldridge, told The Washington Post that Trump called him at his home in Zebulon, N.C., a few weeks after his 22-year-old son and two fellow soldiers were gunned down by an Afghan police officer in a suspected insider attack June 10. Their phone conversation lasted about 15 minutes, Baldridge said, and centered for a time on the father’s struggle with the manner in which his son was killed.”

Trump Insists He Didn’t Make Controversial Remark

President Trump doubled down on his denial that he told the widow of a U.S. solider killed in Niger that her husband “knew what he signed up for,” The Hill reports.

“Speaking at the White House, Trump pushed back on details of his call with Army Sgt. La David Johnson’s widow that were provided by Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL), who was in the car with the widow, Myeshia Johnson, during the conversation.”

Said Trump: “I didn’t say what that congresswoman said – didn’t say it at all — she knows it. I would like her to make the statement again because I did not say what she said.”

The mother of the fallen soldier was also in the car and says that she too heard Trump make the controversial remark.

Trump Promised, Never Gave $25K to Soldier’s Family

Properly improper for the commander in chief to give money to a soldier's family out of his own pocket.

james said...

Proper to promise and not deliver? Trumpthought, that.

AND IT GETS WORSE, James said...

And it gets worse:

Staffers at the National Security Council drafted and circulated a statement of condolence for President Donald Trump to make almost immediately after a deadly ambush of U.S. soldiers in Niger earlier this month.

But Trump never publicly issued the statement, and, some two weeks later, is now in hot water over his initial silence on the soldiers’ deaths and alleged controversial comments he made to a widow of one of the dead.

"NSC spokesman Michael Anton declined to comment. The NSC staffer who apparently wrote the original draft and emailed it out to others at 10:01 a.m. on Oct. 5 hung up on a POLITICO reporter when called to ask about it."

Obama promised $2,500 savings Every Year to Every American family, allowing us to keep our doctors and plans. What a fucking liar he was.

With health insurance costs more than doubling in most states he actually has taken that much away and given it to insurance companies.

Now james, try to stay on topic and stop your fucking spam, don't you have threats to work on and keep you busy, or are you just a FUCKING ASSHOLE ? (rhetorical question)

So the deal is Dems get 7 Billion to continue paying Insurance Companies to give huge bonuses and ever larger paychecks to top Executives. And. In this deal what do the Republicans get. Really?

That 7 billion goes up each year.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

You said this a couple days ago. I told you that the President would change his mind on a moment's notice. You said I'm nuts. Well, you said this.

Donald Trump takes away insurance company subsidies, and tells the Democrats that they will need to negotiate a compromise on health care to get it back.

The White House Mental Facility failed again.

O'Reilly said and then Tapper said...

Bill O’Reilly: “Sean Hannity kicking serious butt in the ratings. Tapper on CNN as low as you can go.”

Jake Tapper: “‘Low’ would be sexually harassing staffers and then getting fired for it — humiliated in front of the world. Now THAT would be low.”

I wouldn't count on Trump killing the bipartisan framework just yet. Trump doesn't necessarily have anything specific in mind and he's still demand that the other party put more on the table. He'll act intractable, get a concession and then have a "deal" to trumpet, it's how Trump works.

If nothing else has a chance of success, I think that we may see Trump backtracking and accepting whatever the congressmen have hashed out.

“Such tactics are the opposite of the art-of-the-deal image Mr Trump has spun. According to that playbook, Mr Trump opens with extravagant demands that force his counterparties to improve their offers. The final deal is far better than had he begun with a realistic gambit. Yet when Mr Trump refuses to dilute his outrageous opening offer, the suspicion arises that he never wanted a deal. That, indeed, has been his approach to almost every negotiation.”
