Stupid Joy Reid was actually on tv asking the question what if President Trump refuses a warrant for his arrest?

WTF??

It won't be as big an upset as some people think. Scott has a better than even chance to beat Nelson. I am frankly amazed Nelson wasn't defeated in 2012. The guy is nothing but an empty suit.

Rick Scott: I’m Taking On Bill Nelson For Senate

As expected, Rick Scott will toss his hat into the ring in an attempt to unseat incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson in November. Rumors and then expectations have swirled for months about the Republican governor’s Beltway ambitions. However, Scott will frame his campaign as an attack on Washington DC, just like another candidate in 2016 did in pulling off a mild upset in the presidential election.

So if it has to do with someone else's sacred ceremony, it's ok for the business to refuse service but when it's about disreputable political speech, the business should be providing publishing services? Interesting ...

Speculative question: how much do you think it would take, to bribe Trump into resigning from office?

How much more do you think, to have him sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement, including a non-disparagement clause?

Do you think it would be legal to crowd-fund it? Not "bribe" per se, but "early retirement" or something like that.

Myballs said...

Not to mention that scott lowered taxes, raised graduation rates, created over a million jobs and is popular across the state.

Myballs said...

None. This was never about money for trump.

Isn't Rick Scott the white-collar criminal who presided over the largest medicare fraud in history? No wonder he's a big Trump fan ...

BTW, EVERYTHING is about money for Trump. That's what makes it such an enchanting idea.

When was Rick Scott convicted of a white collar crime?

wphamilton said...

I didn't say he was convicted LOL, I asked if he was the white-collar criminal. They're almost never convicted you know; their companies just pay fines.

Isn't he the same Rick Scott who was CEO of Columbia/HCA, guilty of Medicare fraud?

I know that you guys have really, really low standards for your leaders these days, but at least try not to brag about them getting away without jail time.

Scott pled the 5th when questioned during a civil suit between Nevada Communications Corp. and Columbia/HCA.

“Unfortunately because of the pendency of a number of criminal investigations relating to Columbia around the country, he’s going to follow my advice, out of prudence, [and] assert his constitutional privilege against giving testimony against himself.”

and then, 75 times, Scott answered

“Upon advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer the question by asserting my rights and privileges under the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.”

The F.B.I. on Monday raided the office of President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, seizing records related to several topics including payments to a pornographic-film actress.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan obtained the search warrant after receiving a referral from the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, according to Mr. Cohen’s lawyer, who called the search “completely inappropriate and unnecessary.” The search does not appear to be directly related to Mr. Mueller’s investigation, but likely resulted from information he had uncovered and gave to prosecutors in New York.

“Today the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York executed a series of search warrants and seized the privileged communications between my client, Michael Cohen, and his clients,” said Stephen Ryan, his lawyer. “I have been advised by federal prosecutors that the New York action is, in part, a referral by the Office of Special Counsel, Robert Mueller.”

Mr. Cohen plays a role in aspects of the special counsel’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He also recently said he paid $130,000 to a pornographic-film actress, Stephanie Clifford, who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump. Ms. Clifford is known as Stormy Daniels.

Mr. Ryan said Mr. Cohen has cooperated with authorities and turned over thousands of documents to congressional investigators looking into Russian election meddling.

The payments to Ms. Clifford are only one of many topics being investigated, according to a person briefed on the search. The F.B.I. also seized emails, tax documents and business records, the person said.

The seized records include communications between Mr. Trump and Mr. Cohen, which would likely require a special team of agents to review because conversations between lawyers and clients are protected from scrutiny in most instances.

Perhaps the Florida Democrats made a claim which was factual and backed by unimpeachable documentation, and that confuses you?

The presidency is about no power and ego. Not money. That's true for all of them .

And aside be from your diversion, he did raise graduation rates, lower taxes and create jobs. You may want to skip past those things. But FL voters wont.

I suspect that the voters, even in FL, are more informed than that. Jobs for instance, he missed his 700,000 mark even after moving the goalposts by more than a million.

His company paid the largest fine in history for that fraud. That's all the conviction we ever see in these cases. That IS the enforcement mechanism.

FBI seizes records related to payment of adult-film star in raid of Trump attorney’s office
Among what federal agents seized in Michael D. Cohen’s offices were records related to a 2016 payment Cohen made to adult-film star Stormy Daniels, who says she had a sexual encounter with President Trump. The raid came as part of an investigation referred by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III to federal prosecutors in New York, an attorney for Cohen said.

Trump’s defenders would say he doesn’t want an unfree press, he just wants a fair one. Not so. What Trump actually wants is a servile press, one that offers praise, withholds criticism and refrains from reporting awkward truths. That’s probably the reason he has criticized Amazon, which was founded by Jeffrey P. Bezos, who also owns The Post. That might also be a reason the Justice Department is trying to block the merger of Time Warner and AT&T. Time Warner owns CNN, which Trump loathes.

Amazon can take its lumps. But the use of the bully pulpit to punish a corporation for a political reason would be yet another thing Trump has in common with Putin. It is, at its core, deeply un-American. This does not mean the press is above criticism. It is not. But that criticism must be fair and fact-based — not a lie.

If America emerges from the Trump years with a corrosive distrust of the press and a less vigorous democracy, then Republican congressional leaders will have to take some credit. Instead of protesting, they preferred to protect their political fortunes, play to the basest part of their base and remain meekly mute. They lack spine. Trump took them all.

Seriously folks we are witnessing the mental descent into despair. He sees his world collapsing and he despite as President he is powerless to make it go away.

when a reporter asked why he didn’t, as the reporter put it, “just fire the guy,” the President, after again stating that the whole thing was a disgrace, answered, “We’ll see what happens.” He observed that “many people have said, ‘You should fire him,’ ” without saying who those people might be, After a brief digression to defend his firing, last summer, of James Comey, the F.B.I. director—“Well, I turned out to do the right thing”—the President repeated, “So we'll see what happens.”

The trump budget about to break the bank.....the right wing idiots cheer he's doing a great job....very sad

WASHINGTON — The federal government’s annual budget deficit is set to widen significantly in the next few years, and is expected to top $1 trillion in 2020 despite healthy economic growth, according to new projections from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released Monday.

The national debt, which has exceeded $21 trillion, will soar to more than $33 trillion in 2028, according to the budget office. By then, debt held by the public will almost match the size of the nation’s economy, reaching 96 percent of gross domestic product, a higher level than any point since just after World War II and well past the level that economists say could court a crisis.

The fear among some economists is that rising deficits will drive up interest rates, raise borrowing costs for the private sector, tank stock prices and slow the economy, which would only drive the deficit higher.

No doubt Denny here thinks you can tax your way out of deficit spending just as long as he is not taxed.

Despite the fact that the federal government is bringing in more tax revenue than in the history of the United States.

All deficit growth is in entitlement spending so if you're not prepared to do something about entitlements then you should just shut up about the deficit.

Menstral's medicare, SS and entitlement problems....have old white people like himself die earlier so he can vote R's can cut his bennies....stupid beyond his years....LOL

Major entitlement programs in the US include Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and veterans benefits.

The Hoover Institution economists acknowledged that tax policies alone will not fix the budget issues, insisting that “funding programs as they are currently structured will require high taxes for all income levels, taxes that would sharply reduce economic opportunity and growth, which in turn will make funding entitlements that much harder.”

While agreeing that America is in a debt crisis and pointing to recent projections that the deficit is set to surpass $1 trillion next year, Yellen and her colleagues scrutinizing the Hoover economists for calling the recent US tax cuts a “good first step.”

Instead, the economists from The Fed pointed to the social benefits of maintaining entitlement benefits, and named their article: “A debt crisis is coming. But don’t blame entitlements.”

Yellen and her co-authors argued: “Entitlement programs support older Americans and those with low incomes or disabilities. Program costs are growing largely because of the aging of the population. This demographic problem is faced by almost all advanced economies and cannot be solved by a vague call to cut ‘entitlements’ — terminology that dehumanizes the value of these programs to millions of Americans.”

On Monday, a Congressional Budget Office official told CNBC that while the GOP’s recent tax cuts will provide the economy with a boost in the short-term, federal debt is now projected to rise even higher without budget cuts. CBO director Keith Hall said, “Such high and rising debt would have serious consequences for the budget and the nation. The timing of this is really concerning because we’re not coming out of a recession. We’re quite a few years out of a recession, and we have very high deficits.”

Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget told CNBC: “We now are facing trillion-dollar deficits as far as the eye can see — a terrible path, made even worse by the fact that this comes amidst a strong economy and is the self-inflicted result of irresponsible policy choices. Hopefully it will serve as a wake-up call for our political leaders who have become frighteningly comfortable with deficit denial.”

whose? yours? i can only imagine what a fucking mental basket case you're going to be if this "investigation" er, coup attempt fails.

For fiscal year 2016 this was the spending as a share of the Federal Budget

Social Security 24%
Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP and Obamacare subsidies 26%.

Safety Net Programs 9%

Total entitlements 69%

Defense Spending 16%
Interest on Debt 6%
All other Federal Spending 18%

While it's liberal feel good that slashing defense spending will do something about the deficit it is analogous to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Worst yet with the alarming reports of lack of readiness in the arm forces and a possible expanding commitment in the world, this would be a poor time to mindlessly cut defense spending.

The numbers bare it out, you are not going to solve the budget deficit without tackling entitlements no amount of liberal "terminology that dehumanizes the value of these programs to millions of Americans” will change that fact.
