Federal investigators have wiretapped the phone lines of Michael Cohen, the longtime personal lawyer for President Donald Trump who is under investigation for a payment he made to an adult film star who alleged she had an affair with Trump, according to two people with knowledge of the legal proceedings involving Cohen.
But three senior U.S. officials now dispute that, saying that the monitoring of Cohen’s phones was limited to a log of calls, known as a pen register, not a wiretap where investigators can actually listen to calls.
Of course, this finally proves without at doubt that an actual crime has been committed. It is a Federal felony to disclose any information to the public regarding a wiretap! Not that anyone actually cares if our law enforcement actually follows the law anymore.
Perhaps this will be the first overall investigation to break more laws during their investigation than they actually find. Ahem!

NBC News has changed the headline and revised parts of the story.

Really sucks to be donnie and cohen today.... Seems to me only trivial reasons are required from the dark state to initiate a wire tap. The scary thing, is the deep state is the trump administration and appointees!!!!!

In other words, they subpoenaed Cohen's phone records.
Which means they know what numbers he made calls to and received from but not the substance of the calls.
