Gullible Liberals easy to fool !!

It goes without saying that hardcore Trump hating liberals love to talk about Russia. Not that much of anyone other than other hardcore Trump hating liberals care to listen.

Recently the liberal media has decided to play the "rehash old news" strategy to keep the fire burning. They are pretending that the President stating that the purpose that the Trump Tower meeting was to gather dirt is some big new "admission of guilt" and somehow evidence of some sort of previous lie.

Of course, their faithful flock are following along, just as you can expect them to.

The reality is that nobody has ever suggested anything different. The "purpose" of the meeting, and the entire reason that Donald Jr (and gang) took the meeting was because of the promise that the person they were meeting with might have dirt on Hillary Clinton. The President stated as much over a year ago.

But as everyone is also fully aware of, the meeting didn't turn out to what it was supposed to. Donald Jr (and gang) were duped by the old bait and switch tactic, and ended up listening to the person in question talk about adoption legislation. "lock em up"

Furthermore, the NY Times assertion that:
It is illegal for a campaign to accept help from a foreign individual or government
Of course, this would mean that anyone associated with the Richard Steele memo (who is a foreign individual) would already be in jail. Moreover, since nobody associated with the Trump Tower meeting has denied that the original intent was to give a listen to someone who might have dirt, they would no doubt be cellmates of all those associated with Richard Steele. But that's not what happened or what will happen. (Jared Kushner, who attended the meeting, has since been provided security clearance, which would be an odd occurrence for a known felon).

The reality here is that there is literally nothing new here. It's a repeat of the same exact assertion made multiple times before. There is no "new news" on the Russia/Trump collusion angle, so the liberal media went back to the well on the tried, true, and tested gambit of rehashing old news.

On queue, their faithful flock follows!

Rehashing old news keeps the division front and center...

1. Hillary's campaign paid Russians (not a crime) through intermediaries (a fed. campaign law violation because she didn't disclose it) to get dirt on Trump. Media all but silent.

2, Trump Jr. meets with Russian to get dirt, no money exchanged - Media pushes impeachment.

And you wonder why the major Media is accused of bias?

Thus, the Times’ suggestion that there’s something new here is, in a real sense, fake news. It’s manufactured.

And manufactured for a purpose. The Times wants to keep up its Russia-related anti-Trump drumbeat. If recycling old stories and trying to pass them off as news is required, the Times will oblige happily.

To make it looks like there’s something new here, the Times cites old statements, not by President Trump but by members of his team, that the meeting focused on subjects other than opposition research. Here, as I suggested above, the Times conflates the purpose of a meeting with its focus. The fact that Donald Trump Jr. attended a meeting with Russians for the purpose of obtaining dirt on Hillary Clinton is not inconsistent with claims that the actual focus of the meeting was on other matters.

[...]

So the Trump tower meeting between Trump, Jr. and the Russian lawyer is inconsequential. The only way it might become otherwise is if the president’s claim that he didn’t know about the meeting in advance turns out to be a lie.

The only way Mueller’s team of Trump-haters can make headway with this line of attack is if Trump testifies that he didn’t know about the meeting, and that credible and substantial evidence shows that he did know. It’s not surprising, then, that Mueller’s investigators have told Trump’s lawyers that they want to ask him what he knew about the Trump Tower meeting at the time.

This is yet another reason why Trump shouldn’t meet with Mueller

Shortly after 4 p.m., Rick Gates, dressed in a blue suit, blue shirt and gold tie, walked down one aisle in the courtroom and took the witness stand, where he was questioned by prosecutor Greg Andres.

Gates, 46, spoke quickly, looking at the prosecutor rather than at Manafort.

Manafort, seated between his lawyers in a dark suit, blue shirt and purple tie, stared intently at his former business partner as he spoke.

Andres’s early questions focused on the two men’s relationship. Gates testified that he met Manafort as an intern at a Christmas party at Manafort’s house, and he worked in the late 1990s at a political firm where Manafort was a partner, Black Manafort Stone and Kelly.

In 2006, Gates testified, he began working at Davis Manafort Partners and kept working there in 2012, when the firm became known as DMP International LLC.

Gates said his responsibilities increased over the years, but he considered himself merely “an employee of the firm,” and he believed Manafort thought of him the same way. He said the two men did not socialize outside of work, though they sometimes met about work at Manafort’s homes.

After addressing the two men’s work, Andres moved to the heart of the case.

“Did you commit crimes with Mr. Manafort?” the prosecutor asked.

“Yes,”

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

5:47 p.m.: Gates testifies he moved money from offshore accounts.

Andres began questioning Gates about his work with Manafort on parliamentary elections in Ukraine beginning in 2007. Gates was asked to review several emails between Manafort and Ukranian political officials and businessmen, which were displayed for jurors.

Gates said the operatives in Ukraine paid Manafort millions of dollars for political and policy work by wiring money from their companies in Cyprus to Manafort’s unreported foreign bank account in Cyprus.
At times, Gates testified Manafort would move money from Cyprus to his U.S. accounts.

Gates acknowledged under questioning by Andres on Monday afternoon that he has a powerful incentive to cooperate with prosecutors. If the government determines that Gates’s assistance in their case against Manafort is “substantial,” he could avoid jail time.

Judge Ellis emphasized several times that it would be up to the judge overseeing Gates’s plea agreement in Washington — U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson — to assess Gates’s cooperation and decide whether to sentence him to a term of probation.

Over and over, mostly through his allegations of Democratic collusion, he's acknowledged the criminal nature of collusion in ways that would seem to make it much more difficult for his lawyers to press the case that collusion by Donald Trump Jr. or anybody else wasn't criminal.

Here are five examples.

1. Another call for investigating Democrats

Back on June 8, Trump suggested that Democrats should be probed for collusion and obstruction of justice.

“Now, the Democrats have had massive collusion, massive obstruction, and they should be investigated,” Trump said.

2. Mueller should look into “all of the criminal activity & real Russian Collusion on the Democrats side”

In the same vein as above:

....Also, why is Mueller only appointing Angry Dems, some of whom have worked for Crooked Hillary, others, including himself, have worked for Obama....And why isn’t Mueller looking at all of the criminal activity & real Russian Collusion on the Democrats side-Podesta, Dossier?

3. Collusion is part of what makes Clinton “CROOKED”

Here, Trump includes “collusion” while talking about Clinton being “CROOKED.” Corruption is generally understood as illegal activity.

Another protest,ok.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

As the comedian, actress and television personality heads to D.C., O'Donnell spoke to Variety about her friend Roseanne Barr, LeBron James and her disdain for the president, which extends back for more than a decade.

"I never in a million years would have imagined that so many people would fall for him," she said of Trump. "If you’re from New York, we understand all what he was about because we watched him try to create this façade in real time in front of our eyes as his planes were being repossessed from the runways of LaGuardia. And now it’s so tragically sad what he’s doing to a part of the country that doesn’t have neither the time or the resources or desire to look deeper. He’s taking the people who are easily fooled and fooling them over and over again to the point where we are now in this horrible predicament."

O'Donnell added that she is hopeful for the upcoming midterm elections, believing that people will turn out in record numbers. And she said that if Democrats take back the House and Senate, "then we’re going to get rid of him [Trump] as soon as possible — a day after we win. And I think people will be rejoicing all over the place, all over the world."

However, when it comes to the next president, the comedian questioned if the country will be able to recover from the havoc Trump has caused. "He’s a vicious dictator and he admires vicious dictators," she told Variety. "He’s now going after LeBron James. It’s insanity, coming off of this man opening this school to save people from the community he grew up in and providing them with opportunities they would have never had before — that’s the man you try to bully? He’s so beyond a racist. He’s just a hateful person without a soul."

4. Clinton colluded with the Justice and State departments

Late in the 2016 campaign, Trump accused Clinton of “collusion” with the Justice Department and State Department, which he labeled “possibly illegal.”

“And through WikiLeaks today, it's just been shown that this is, as I've been saying, a rigged system with more collusion — possibly illegal — between the Justice Department, the Clinton campaign and the State Department,” Trump said. “Right?”

At another point, Trump said this collusion amounted to corruption, which again connotes illegality.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 17, 2016

“This shows corruption at the highest level, and we can't let it happen as American citizens,” Trump said.

5. Cruz and Kasich engaged in “illegal collusion”

Trump called Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich working together to prevent him from winning primaries “illegal collusion” and noted that collusion is illegal in business.

“It shows total weakness, it shows illegal collusion,” he said. “You know, in business, you get put in jail [for that].”

When President Donald Trump gave his first address to a joint session of Congress in February of 2017, he claimed that “the vast majority of individuals convicted of terrorism and terrorism-related offenses since 9/11 came here from outside of our country,” citing “data provided by the Department of Justice.”

Not only was that claim not true, but there was no data from the Department of Justice to back it up.

In response to a Freedom of Information Act request from a private lawyer, the Justice Department admitted recently that “no responsive records were located” after an exhaustive search for evidence to substantiate Trump’s claim.

As far as I am aware, there is as yet no evidence that the meeting at Trump Tower had any effect on the 2016 election, or that the president knew about the meeting at the time. But here is a general principle: Successfully enlisting Russia’s help to procure the presidency would count as a high crime or misdemeanor within the meaning of the impeachment clause – whether or not it’s technically a crime within federal law.

But is it a federal crime? Federal law makes it unlawful “to solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or donation . . . from a foreign national.” A contribution includes “any gift, subscription, loan, advance, or deposit of money or anything of value made by any person for the purpose of influencing any election for Federal office.” Lawyers are now discussing, and disputing, whether “information on an opponent” counts as “anything of value.”

Let’s put the legal niceties to one side. In my view, it was reasonable for President Trump to say that as a matter of principle, professional athletes ought to show respect for the American flag and the national anthem. “E pluribus unum” is the motto on the nation’s seal. It dates from the period of the Revolutionary War.

Seeking Russia’s help, to get “information on an opponent,” is worse than a scandal. It is a betrayal

The Clinton campaign did not solicit information on Trump from the Russian government.

Using outside of government information isn't a crime. The Trump campaign officials sought information on crooked Hillary from the Russian government. Under the statute is under debate by lawyers on both side are debating if the statute does apply. In my opinion ( a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value,) applies in this case.

I saw the story on the BJ and thought it was funny. Not relevant to the discussion of the betrayals of America by the President.

Steele solicited information from Russian sources that he recorded in his reports as late as December of 2016. But Steele was the source of the dossier, not the Russian government. The lawyers for the most part have been saying that because the Clinton campaign did not solicit information directly from the Russians.

Junior said that he was looking forward to getting information from the Russians directly. His email comments demonstrate that was his intent.

hillary actually paid, in the millions, in cold hard US cash. via an agent law firm of course. you see alky, because she was supposedly a lock to win, none of this shit was ever supposed to come out. that was the single crucial component of this 0linsky-sanctioned scheme that no one had a contingency plan for. she was a lock. everyone including nate "can't lose" silver said so. even the puffington ho had her at 98% to win.

ices rose at their highest clip since 2012 over the past year, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

The 2.9 percent inflation for the 12-month period ending in June is a sign of a growing economy, but it's also a painful development for workers, whose tepid wage gains have failed to keep pace with the rising prices.

The cost of food, shelter and gas have all risen significantly in the past year. Gas skyrocketed more than 24 percent, rent for a primary residence jumped 3.6 percent and meals at restaurants and cafeterias rose 2.8 percent.

Prices have risen roughly at the same rate as wages, erasing any gains workers may have hoped to realize via bigger paychecks.

Yes I did. In fact If I didn't have cirrhosis I wouldn't have been placed on the UNOS list. But it was not the major factor. My liver weighed about 30 pounds. My surgery took 12hours.

A plurality of Republicans believe that the President has the authority to censor the Fake News.

Washington, D.C., August 7, 2018 -Even if they are not “fake news” or “the enemy of the people”, it is clear that the reputation of the news media is under siege. According to the General Social Survey, the number of Americans with some or a great deal of trust in the press has dropped 30 percentage points since the late 1970s. Ipsos recently conducted a survey with the American public to better understand how Americans currently view the press and public support for efforts to restrict journalism. While we found that the large majority of Americans support the concept of the 1st Amendment, there are worrying signs that freedom of the press might be conditional to many people.

First off, the good news. The large majority of Americans, 85%, agree that the “Freedom of the press is essential for American democracy.” Additionally, two-thirds (68%) say that “reporters should be protected from pressure from government or big business interests.” Majorities of both Democrats and Republicans agree with these two statements signaling deep support for the concept of freedom of the press.

Some of the limits of public support for freedom of the press are made stark with a quarter of Americans (26%) saying they agree “the president should have the authority to close news outlets engaged in bad behavior,” including a plurality of Republicans (43%). Likewise, most Americans (72%) think “it should be easier to sue reporters who knowingly publish false information.”
