Mitchell says she would not bring criminal charges against Kavanaugh in memo

Rachel Mitchell, the sex-crimes prosecutor who questioned Dr. Christine Blasey Ford last week, wrote in a memo released late Sunday that there were inconsistencies in Ford's testimony and that-- given the information at hand-- she would not bring criminal charges against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Mitchell, who was hired by the Senate Judiciary Committee to assist Republicans, addressed the letter to “All Republican Senators,” and said no senator approved the memo. She noted in the assessment that she is a Republican, but said she is not a political person.

She identified Ford's case as an example of “he said, she said,” and said her case is “even weaker than that.”

Ford, a California psychology professor, claims Kavanaugh assaulted her while at a house party in the 1980s when they were both teenagers. She said he pinned her to a bed, attempted to forcibly remove her clothes and prevented her from screaming.

Ford said she was "100 precent" certain that Kavanaugh was her attacker.

Kavanaugh has vehemently denied the allegations.

Mitchell, who worked as a sex-crimes prosecutor for nearly 25 years in Arizona, pointed out what she identified as timing inconsistencies. She wrote that Ford appeared to jump around on the timing of the alleged sexual assault, ranging from the “mid 1980s” to “early 1980s,” and then the “summer of 1982.”

“While it is common for victims to be uncertain about dates, Dr. Ford failed to explain how she was suddenly able to narrow the timeframe to a particular season and particular year,” she wrote.

Mitchell also pointed out that Ford has a history of struggling to name Kavanaugh as her attacker. Mitchell noted that his name was not in notes from her 2012 marriage therapy or her individual therapy in 2013.

She's lying.

I don't agree with Kenya West on much of anything but I do admire his independence and courage to have positions and opinions that are unpopular with his fan base.

Pretty well sums up Brett's joke of a performance...

“I just want to remind everybody that all this yelling and crying happened at this dude’s job interview,” Che said during the “Weekend Update” segment. “Typically, when you’re asked about a sexual assault and your drinking problem at a job interview, you don’t get the damn job.”

The Washington Post had the memo and sat on it. How's that for dispassionate and non-partisan.

The F.B.I. was directed by the White House and Senate Republicans to interview just four people: Mark Judge and P.J. Smyth, high school friends of Judge Kavanaugh’s; Leland Keyser, a high school friend of one of Judge Kavanaugh’s accusers, Christine Blasey Ford; and Deborah Ramirez, another of the judge’s accusers.

Dr. Blasey, a California university professor, has accused Judge Kavanaugh of trying to rape her during a high school gathering, and Ms. Ramirez, a classmate of Judge Kavanaugh’s at Yale, has said he exposed himself to her at a dorm room party. Judge Kavanaugh has forcefully denied both allegations.

In testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, Judge Kavanaugh also denied the possibility that he had ever been blackout drunk, a state that implies memory loss, despite consciousness. But Mr. Ludington, a former basketball player at Yale, said in a statement that he could “unequivocally say” that Judge Kavanaugh had “not told the truth.”

He said Judge Kavanaugh had often become “belligerent and aggressive” while intoxicated during his first two years at Yale. Mr. Ludington recalled one incident in which he said Judge Kavanaugh threw a beer in someone’s face, “starting a fight that ended with one of our mutual friends in jail.”

He's been lying repeatedly about his abuse of alcohol. This behavior is common among alcoholics. I am very aware of such behavior. We can't prove that he is an alcoholic, but this is another reason why this man should have a lifetime position on the Supreme Court. He will not cease lying.

If the President is unwilling to remove the restrictions on the FBI investigation Senator Flake and the other wavering Republicans and Democrats will not support his nomination.

The attempts to discredit Doctor Ford are not going to change the outcome of this nomination.

A former Yale University classmate of Brett Kavanaugh's says he is "deeply troubled" by what he says has been a blatant mischaracterization by Kavanaugh of his drinking at Yale.

Charles "Chad" Ludington now teaches at North Carolina State University. He says in a statement released Sunday that he was a friend of Kavanaugh's at Yale and sometimes drank with him.

Ludington described Kavanaugh as "a frequent drinker, and a heavy drinker." He says that on many occasions he heard Kavanaugh slur his words and saw him stagger from alcohol consumption, and was often belligerent and aggressive when drunk.

Ludington says he plans to speak to the FBI, which has reopened its background investigation of Kavanaugh in light of allegations of sexual misconduct brought against the Supreme Court nominee.

Your opinion is duly noted and as usual will be ignored.....asshole

Lord if Brett Kavanaugh is an alcoholic then everyone who graduated from Yale law school is an alcoholic.

Alcoholism is a persistent disease that doesn't stop in your high school and college years and it's a disease you can't hide. If Kavanaugh was truly an alcoholic it would have shown up in the backround check.

I suspect these "classmates" barely know him are not fans of him.
