2020 already?

Warren Announces Exploratory Committee for 2020 WH Bid
Michael Bloomberg on 2020: "I Would Certainly Run as a Democrat"
McAuliffe 'Obviously Looking' at 2020

Obviously none of these would be considered "front-runners" at this point. For that status, I would look to Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, and possibly even Beto O'Rourke as the darkhorse. But if you end up seeing a field that expands to Michael Bloomberg and Terry McAuliffe, it will be quite similar to what we saw on the Republican side in 2016. A whole army of candidates.

In 2016, the conventional wisdom was that a clear path to the nomination for Clinton would provide her with a large advantage over the Republican field, simply because of all of the money and resources that would be spent, along with the fact that all of the infighting would leave the eventual nominee damaged goods.

Of course, with the situation reversed in 2020 (a large Democratic field vs what may end up being an incumbent running nearly unopposed), one suspects  that conventional wisdom will figure out a way to conclude that having a large field is an advantage rather than a disadvantage.

I think Warren goofed on the timing, just like with the release of her DNA test results. The shutdown is the main event right now, even if there's no movement right now, and the Republicans (especially Trump) were getting the worst of it in news coverage. Warren's put the focus on herself on an extremely slow news day, and my prediction is she'll be hammered all day.

The disadvantage is the unpopularity of the incumbent.

I don't forsee a highly device Democratic campaign.

Of course not. Obviously calling Jeb Bush "low energy" or calling Cruz "Lying Ted" or calling Rubio "little Marco" or calling Clinton "crooked Hillary"...

Didn't work at all for him.

I think she announced to get out ahead of booker and Harris.

And Obama meeting with some of them also pushed her to get out early.

Daca for wall funding. Sounds like a compromise. Dems will reject it though. Anything to oppose Trump.

Roger,

Since the #SchumerShutdown, Nancy Pelosi has retreated to a Hawaiian resort for the holidays and Maxine Waters is vacationing in the Bahamas.

The Democrats have made it crystal clear they have no intention of listening to the American people, and would rather put politics above YOUR safety just to obstruct President Trump’s agenda.

That’s why we need to do something drastic to make them listen.

In 2016 you showed them that the silent majority is back, now we need you to show them again.

We need 5O,OOO Trump supporters to step up and activate their Official Build The Wall Membership before 11:59 PM TONIGHT.

I am the only person in America who could say that, “I’m bringing our great troops back home, with victory,” and get BAD press. It is Fake News and Pundits who have FAILED for years that are doing the complaining. If I stayed in Endless Wars forever, they would still be unhappy!

Jim Mattis on Monday formally stepped down as defense secretary, two months ahead of his announced resignation date, with a farewell memorandum to employees that quotes Abraham Lincoln.

“Let nothing which is transpiring, change, hinder, or delay your military movements, or plans,” Mattis, citing the former president, wrote to all Defense Department workers.

“Our Department’s leadership, civilian and military remains in the best possible hands. I am confident that each of you remains undistracted from our sworn mission to support and defend the Constitution while protecting our way of life. Our Department is proven to be at its best when the time are most difficult. So keep the faith in our country and hold fast, alongside our allies, aligned against our foes.

“It has been my high honor to serve at your side. May God hold you safe in the air, on land, and at sea.”

Clinton was far more qualified to be President. History will show that to be true. She was not a good candidate, and despite her popular vote margin was huge, we have been stuck with the worst President ever. He lies 50 times a day.

But the Trumpism syndrome has blinded his base

And yet the Democrats will double down on even a worse candidate.

Hell, with Warren as a candidate they may not even get Massachusetts.

You know... blinded by more jobs, better jobs, higher wages, lower taxes, less terrorism, less crime, ...

But I guess the trade off is that the bad orange man is around to trigger all those sensitive liberals with too many tweets on twitter.

Come to think of it.

It's a win win.

that's right alky.

because sec state was her consolation prize and she flew one million miles. none of those landing under sniper fire i might add. oh and she royally fucked up the russian re-set.

she carpetbagged her way to a senate seat which was gifted to her.

and she stood by bubba while he banged every broad EXCEPT for her.

imminently qualified. maybe it was the collapse and getting stuffed into the nursing home van on the anniversary of 9/11 that was the clincher, eh alky?

shit alky, if she did manage to win we would've had to install several of those stair crawler seats on every flight of stairs higher than two steps in the entire white house. and she's want to take them with her when she left, for chrissakes.
