Negotiations to reopen the government are happening exactly where White House aides want them — on President Donald Trump’s Twitter feed.
As the federal government shutdown entered its eighth day on Saturday, the president once again had no public events on his schedule. Instead, he spent the day making private calls to congressional allies, holding closed-door huddles with White House aides — and tweeting. According to White House aides and outsiders close to the administration, it’s a tactic Trump will stick with in the coming days.
The strategy has raised questions even among those in Trump’s own party who wonder why the president has evaded the public spotlight at a critical juncture as he tries to win $5 billion in funding for his signature issue, a southern border wall.
It wasn’t long ago, in the lead-up to the November midterm elections, that Trump was pounding the pavement at near-daily rallies and conducting a barrage of interviews with major newspapers and television networks to push his agenda. This time around, though, the president has mostly remained cloistered in the White House. He hasn’t spoken to Democratic leaders since a jaw-dropping televised Oval Office meeting on Dec. 11 in which he sparred with House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, shockingly declaring that he’d be “honored” to close the government over border security. White House officials haven’t even discussed a budget deal with Schumer or Pelosi since last weekend.
On shutdown, White House wants Trump's tweets to do the talking.
Trump Organization officials did not respond to requests for comment.
Morales and Diaz first went public in interviews with the New York Times earlier this month. Morales said she had worked at the Bedminster club for the last five years — even making Trump’s bed and ironing the president’s clothes at times. She told the Times that managers at the club had taken steps to help her evade detection as an undocumented immigrant.
“The important point that I think has been left out is that Americans think these hard-working women get these jobs on their own — that’s not what happened,” Romero said. “People employed by the golf club recruited her and made her the phony documents.”
n September 2017, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., suggested Judge Amy Coney Barrett is too Catholic to serve on the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
More than a year later, Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, and Kamala Harris, D-Calif., have renewed Feinstein’s line of attack, suggesting this month that attorney Brian Buescher may also be unfit to serve as a federal judge on account of his Catholic faith. The only difference between now and September 2017 is that Hirono and Harris are not so explicit in their bigotry.
In a set of written questions submitted to the nominee to the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska, Hirono and Harris zeroed in on Buescher's affiliation with the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic charitable organization founded in 1882. Harris’ questions began by noting that Buescher has been a member of "an all-male society comprised primarily of Catholic men” since 1993. She then asked a number of leading questions, including, “Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman’s right to choose when you joined the organization?” and, “Have you ever, in any way, assisted with or contributed to advocacy against women’s reproductive rights?” and, “Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed marriage equality when you joined the organization?”
Imagine if some senator said a judge was too black to serve on the 7th circuit. Or called the NAACP an extremist organization.
There's a problem in the leadership of the Women's March, and it's leading to the splintering of the movement nationally.
An article in Tablet last week depicted the Women's March as an organization whose very first official meeting included anti-Semitic tropes spoken by those still in the organization's leadership.
Some of these had been widely propagated by Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, such as "Jews were proven to have been leaders of the American slave trade."
Several witnesses, including women of color, corroborated allegations that later meetings among the Women's March leadership also included anti-Semitic attacks on Jewish women in the room. This included an accusation leveled at one Jewish organizer, Vanessa Wruble, that "your people hold all the wealth."
The story, by Leah McSweeney and Jacob Siegel, details how Tamika Mallory, Carmen Perez, Linda Sarsour, and Bob Bland solidified their roles as the collective public face of a movement that was actually far more decentralized than the public was led to believe at the time of the historic January 2017 marches across the country. At the historic march protesting the inauguration of President Donald Trump, anywhere from 3.6 to 4.6 million people marched in cities across the US.
But as the Women's March brand grew in stature and the organization brought in millions of dollars in donations, as well as a fortune from branded merchandise, the murky financial management of the organization has come under scrutiny. Also criticized is the relationship between the leadership — Mallory and Sarsour, in particular — with the Nation of Islam (NOI) and Farrakhan, whose long history of anti-Semitic and racist statements is well documented.
JFK had to address the issue of his Catholic Church beliefs. He started clearly that his personal religious beliefs were not going to affect his actions as the President of the United States and the Constitution.
If justice candidates have stated in public that their religion will influence their decisions on the law and the Constitution, should not be confirmed.
The rule of law is a foundation of our democratic republic.
If justice candidates have stated in public that their religion will influence their decisions on the law and the Constitution, should not be confirmed
except they've never stated that, you asshole.
it's been disgusting, bigoted cunts like harris, hirono and feinstein who have hurled the accusations to inflict maximum political harm.
If justice candidates have stated in public that their religion will influence their decisions on the law and the Constitution, should not be confirmed.
That's not what the Constitution says.
no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

But they all swear to uphold the Constitution, not their specific religious beliefs.
If justice candidates have stated in public that if their religious beliefs will influence their decisions on the law and the Constitution, should not be confirmed under the Constitution.
As Justice Hugo Black said; "The Constitution is what we say it is"; and there lies the problem. There is no right to an abortion explicitly stated in the Constitution it is there because 5 justices said it was there.
If justice candidates have stated in public that if their religious beliefs will influence their decisions on the law and the Constitution, should not be confirmed under the Constitution.
except none of them ever stated that, alky.
not once.
there probably was no greater catholic jurist than antonin scalia. in fact he sired a catholic priest. his religion never interfered with his legal judgement.
scumbags like harris and hirono are looking to smear candidates. at least feinstein had the courage to do it in public to their face. harris and hirono are cowards to boot.
The President stated specifically "That there are good people on both sides." In Charlottesville.
i know. weird isn't it? this is the first president since george w. bush who actually understands and acts like he represent ALL americans. we had an 8 year hiatus from that. now it's back. how refreshing.
"stated specifically" is a gross exaggeration. i saw him say it, and he was in the unenviable position of having to address a national tragedy off the cuff. to describe it the way you've chosen is a gross distortion and wildly dishonest. in other words, your standard MO.
The woman has the right to choose what she wants with her own body.
Look, I fully understand your beliefs and I have always been troubled with abortion. But when a woman becomes pregnant, her body should not become a state controlled animal. My libertarian views are dominant in my views on abortion.
The founding fathers did not specifically address the right to the state to control a woman's body. Original intent did not address this issue.
"To be honest, it's not a wall," the outgoing White House chief of staff said. "The president still says 'wall' — oftentimes frankly he'll say 'barrier' or 'fencing,' now he's tended toward steel slats."
Donald Trump is staking his run reelection for U.S. president in part on a vow to protect American jobs. But this month, one of his companies, the elite Mar-a-Lago Club resort in Florida, applied to import 70 foreign workers to serve as cooks, wait staff and cleaners.
A Reuters analysis of U.S. government data reveals that this is business as usual in the New York property magnate’s empire.
Trump owns companies that have sought to import at least 1,100 foreign workers on temporary visas since 2000, according to U.S. Department of Labor data reviewed by Reuters. Most of the applications were approved, the data show.
Nine companies majority-owned by Trump have sought to bring in foreign waitresses, cooks, vineyard workers and other laborers on temporary work-visa programs administered by the Labor Department.
The candidate’s foreign talent hunt included applications for an assistant golf-course superintendent, an assistant hotel manager and a banquet manager.
Two of his companies, Trump Model Management and Trump Management Group LLC, have sought visas for nearly 250 foreign fashion models, the records show.
Trump’s presidential campaign and a lawyer for the businessman declined to comment. The Mar-a-Lago Club could not be reached for comment.
The analysis of Trump’s history of actively importing foreign workers comes as he has emerged as an early front-runner in the race for the Republican nomination in the November 2016 presidential election. Trump has positioned himself as a champion of American workers whose livelihoods are threatened by illegal foreign laborers and the offshoring of U.S. jobs.
“I will be the greatest jobs president that God every created,” he said in announcing his candidacy on June 16. “I will bring back our jobs from China, Mexico and other places. I will bring back jobs and our money.”
no, it's not, never was, and never will be construed as such.
Scalia:
“My view is regardless of whether you think prohibiting abortion is good or whether you think prohibiting abortion is bad, regardless of how you come out on that, my only point is the Constitution does not say anything about it. It leaves it up to democratic choice.
“Some states prohibited it, some states didn’t. What Roe v. Wade said was that no state can prohibit it. That is simply not in the Constitution. It was one of those many things — most things in the world — left to democratic choice. And — and the court does — does not do democracy a favor when it takes an issue out of democratic choice simply because it thinks it should not be there.”
Anyone who actually believes he acts "like he represent ALL americans" is seriously delusional.
He both acts impulsively and listens to Limbaugh and Hannity and Fox and Friends, then tweets major foreign policy decisions! His approval ratings, outside of Rasmussen, have never reached 50 percent approval.
Even Reagan and both Bush Presidents reached out to the Democrats in critical times. He has never done so, and he never will. He is incapable of being the President of the United States.
The racist rodent bastard has to find a right wing websites to interpret the Constitution.
you're right, alky.
i should've scoured "salon" or "the nation" or your fave - "mommy jones" to find an accurate scalia quote on the topic of abortion. it's times like these when your genius really shines through.
Polycystic Liver Disease
uh huh. sure, cirrhosis boy.
alky, since you're not honest about anything else, i certainly do not expect you to be honest about how you destroyed your liver.
oh, and stop dispensing legal rulings and stop advising other commenters on the secret service legal ramifications of their posts. your advice has the value of the obama dolls i dropped off at the pool a few hours ago.
Even Reagan and both Bush Presidents reached out to the Democrats in critical times. He has never done so, and he never will. He is incapable of being the President of the United States.
a lie.
trump has done so repeatedly, and with the benefit of live media to cover it. the most recent example was with nancy and chuckles in the oval.
and i believe it was nancy who wished to duck the cameras as she asked for the negotiations to continue in private.
you're a pathological liar, alky.
you have completely abandoned any familiarity with the truth on any topic.
The fact that I quit drinking and stuck with it, the doctors who worked on my case were very supportive. Out of the approximately 7,500 liver transplants per year, about one hundred and fifty people with PCLD get a transplant. Deal with it.
Retired Army Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, the former commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, sharply criticized President Trump on Sunday, calling him immoral and untruthful and taking aim at his foreign policy decisions.
In an interview on ABC News’s “This Week,” McChrystal told host Martha Raddatz of Trump, “I don’t think he tells the truth.” The general also responded affirmatively when asked whether he believes Trump is “immoral.”
McChrystal said that contrary to Trump’s claim, the Islamic State militant group, also known as ISIS, has not yet been defeated.
“I don’t believe ISIS is defeated. I think ISIS is as much an idea as it is a number of ISIS fighters. There’s a lot of intelligence that says there are actually more ISIS fighters around the world now than there were a couple of years ago,”
He refused to listen to his advisers and instead watches Fox News and listening to Rush Limbaugh.
In the meeting he said that he will take full responsibility for the government shutdown.
Since then he has been claiming that the Democrats are responsible.
alky,
this comment is as near a perfect encapsulation of your stupidity as you may have ever posted.
trump did say he would take credit or responsibility for shutting down the government. and so he did. he shut the fucker down.
and he can also claim, with 100% accuracy, that is the policies of the democrats, specifically their refusal to allocate funding for a border wall/fence/barrier/whateverthefuck...because it's the truth.
in fact, the $5B is a pimple on a gnat's ass in terms of spending.
the democrats are behaving this way not out of a sense of responsibility or fiscal prudence, reason or logic.
they are behaving this way to deny trump a victory on this issue. period.
so in other words, the two statements you posted are not mutually exclusive or even contradictory.
and if you were not such a fucking moron you would've known this and perhaps never made the comment to begin with.
For those Americans who looked up from their wrapping duties and took notice, it was hilarious to see the media all heated up because they had been shown to be utterly wrong in their predictions - and Rush (again!) 100% right. So, what else to do but blame the shutdown on Rush? Rush had a fine time playing a montage of all those who tried to pin the shutdown on him. A sampling from Rush’s show included these:
KATY TUR: Rush Limbaugh is in control of the government.
DON LEMON: President Rush Limbaugh?
BAKARI SELLERS: You have a president in Rush Limbaugh.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Rush Limbo. (sic) There’s a guy, in a golf shirt down in Palm Beach telling the president what to do. This is crazy. Is Rush Limbo calling the shots or are his listeners calling the shots?
PHIL RUCKER: Well, this week, with the shutdown I would say Rush Limbaugh.
RINA SHAH: This entire debate has been hijacked by Limbaugh.
HUGH HEWITT: One person: Rush Limbaugh.
MARIA CARDONA: … puppet masters in the likes of Rush Limbaugh.
MICHAEL SMERCONISH: I don’t think we’d be in a partial government shutdown without those voices like Rush’s.
BRIAN STELTER: This is kind of a Rush Limbaugh shutdown.
NORMAN ORNSTEIN: This is a Trump-Limbaugh shutdown.
JENNIFER RUBIN: Maybe the Democrats should go negotiate with Rush Limbaugh.
But, of course, none of this was true. Here’s Rush explaining the facts on his Christmas Eve show:
“I shared with you the message. “I just got a message from the president that he’s not going to sign this. He will veto it unless there’s money in it for border security and the wall.” The media took that story and turned it into Trump had his pen ready to go. He’s on the verge of signing it!
And then I start complaining on the air and somebody walks in and says, “Mr. President! Mr. President! Rush Limbaugh… (stammering) Y-y-you’re losing Rush Limbaugh! He’s going nuts,” and Trump stops. “Oh, really? I better not sign it.” That’s not what happened! What happened was the president got word to me that whatever news stories we all had that said he was gonna sign it were not true. He wasn’t. It wasn’t that anybody had changed his mind.
…(The media wants you to think that) He’s there, he’s poised, he’s got that pen in his hand. He may even have the D already written down! Then they run in there and say, “Mr. President! Mr. President! Rush Limbaugh says you shouldn’t sign it,” and Trump stops. “Oh, really? Okay. Well, then I won’t.” That’s not what happened. But they want you to think that’s what happened because it diminishes Trump. And it gives them another chance to shoot at me, which they, of course, love doing as well.”
ND is in the ACC for everything instead of football. I get the tradition, but they had no business being there. I’m beginning to grumble like other Dawg faithful, I didn’t think they deserved it but damn. And after they shellack TX maybe the CFB selectors will just leave 2 permanent SEC teams in from now on
MCCHRYSTAL: Well, I think there's every likelihood that the Kurds come up in a very difficult position.
We leveraged Kurdish military prowess and capabilities to help deal with ISIS. And I think we did that well. I also think we created a relationship and an expectation with them that was natural. They thought that we would help protect them.
I think now there's every likelihood that Bashar al-Assad's forces will do whatever damage they can to the Kurds to try to remind the Kurds that they are in an area in which they are very, very vulnerable.
RADDATZ: Outside of the Kurds, what difference does it make, does it really make, if those 2,000 U.S. forces leave?
MCCHRYSTAL: Yeah.
You never know until we see how things play out. My sense is that we have a tumultuous regime -- or region now that has a Russian presence, which had been out for about 30 years after the 1973 war, and now Russia's back, and they're back in an influential way.
Iran has increased influence across the region now. If you pull American influence out, you're likely to have greater instability. And, of course, it will be much more difficult for the United States to try to push events in any direction.
There is an argument that says we just pull up our stuff, go home, let the region run itself. That has not done well for the last 50 or 60 years.
RADDATZ: And I take it you don't believe ISIS is defeated?
MCCHRYSTAL: I don't believe ISIS is defeated. I think ISIS is as much an idea as it is a number of ISIS fighters.
There's a lot of intelligence that says there are actually more ISIS fighters around the world now than there were a couple of years ago. Doesn't mean we didn't do well against ISIS in Iraq and in much of Syria.
But ISIS is an idea. And as long as the fertile ground exists, the causes that cause people to flock to a movement as extreme as ISIS exist, you're going to have it flare back up again.
RADDATZ: In Afghanistan, the president has ordered them to start looking at drawing down half of those troops there. Do you see that as a problem?
MCCHRYSTAL: I think the great mistake in the president's leaked guidance is that, just when we were starting to sit down with the Taliban, just when we were starting to begin negotiations, he basically traded away the biggest leverage point we have.
If you tell the Taliban that we are absolutely leaving on date certain, cutting down, weakening ourselves, their incentives to try to cut a deal drop dramatically.
And, of course, I was worried about the confidence of the Afghan people, because, at the end of the day, that's what determines who wins in Afghanistan. And I think we probably rocked them. We rocked them and their belief that we are allies that can be counted on.
RADDATZ: But, at the same time, this is what President Trump campaigned on. They had to have a pretty good idea he wanted to get out of there.
MCCHRYSTAL: Yes, I think so. There's -- it's not a -- it's not a big surprise.
And I think the first thing we have to do is navigate from where we are, not from where we wish we were.
RADDATZ: Jim Mattis' last day as defense secretary is this Monday. You saw his very public rebuke of President Trump.
What do you think Americans should make of a resignation of someone like Jim Mattis?
RADDATZ: So, if someone was asked to be secretary of defense right now who you knew, what would you say to that person?
MCCHRYSTAL: I would ask them to look in the mirror and ask them if they can get comfortable enough with President Trump's approach to governance, how he conducts himself, with his values and with his world view, to be truly loyal to him as a commander in chief and going forward.
And we're all instinctively loyal. But the reality is, if there's too much of a disconnect, then I would tell him, I think it's -- it would be a bad foundation upon which to try to build a successful partnership with that job.
RADDATZ: If you were asked to join the Trump administration, what would you say?
MCCHRYSTAL: I would say no.
I think it's important for me to work for people who I think are basically honest, who tell the truth as best they know it.
RADDATZ: You think he's a liar?
MCCHRYSTAL: I don't think he tells the truth.
RADDATZ: Is Trump immoral, in your view?
MCCHRYSTAL: I think he is.
RADDATZ: What would you say to those Americans, then -- and there are a lot of them -- who support Donald Trump, who say, I like what he's doing, he's shaking things up, I don't care about this other stuff?
MCCHRYSTAL: Yeah, I would say everyone has to make their own judgment. I can't tell any supporter of one politician or another that they are wrong.
But what I would ask every American to do is, again, stand in front of that mirror and say, what are we about? Am I really willing to throw away or ignore some of the things that people do that are -- are pretty unacceptable, normally, just because they accomplish certain other things that we might like?
If we want to be governed by someone we wouldn't do a business deal with because their -- their background is so shady, if we're willing to do that, then that's in conflict with who I think we are. And so I think it's necessary at those times to take a stand.
RADDATZ: Jim Mattis' last day as defense secretary is this Monday. You saw his very public rebuke of President Trump.
What do you think Americans should make of a resignation of someone like Jim Mattis?
MCCHRYSTAL: I would guess that Secretary Mattis took a long time agonizing over writing a letter that was as direct about his feelings as that particular letter was.
He knew it would be very public and it would make a very strong statement that was much broader than the Syria issue. It was about America's role in the world.
I personally think it was valuable. I think maybe it causes the American people to take pause and say, wait a minute, if we have someone who is as selfless and as committed as Jim Mattis resigns his position, walking away from all the responsibility he feels for every service member in our forces, and he does so in a public way like that, we ought to stop and say, OK, why did he do it?
We ought to ask what kind of commander in chief he had that Jim Mattis that, you know, the good Marine, felt he had to walk away.
The federal judge who declared the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional has issued an order saying the law can remain in effect while his ruling is appealed.
The bottom line: The order by Judge Reed O'Connor isn't a surprise, but it gives more certainty to the health care system — at least for now — and avoids the chaos that would have resulted if the ruling had immediately gone into effect. O'Connor noted that "many everyday Americans would otherwise face great uncertainty during the pendency of appeal."
Roger, thing is I want you to continue to post. Every time you get cornered you revert to that where your parents raised you. Low rent poverty and open hate.
McChrystal Denounces Trump as Immoral and a Liar December 30, 2018 at 10:26 am EST By Taegan Goddard 198 Comments Retired four-star Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal criticized President Trump’s behavior and handling of the presidency, ABC News reports. Said McChrystal: “I don’t think he tells the truth.” When asked if Trump immoral, McChrystal said: “I think he is.” He added: “If we want to be governed by someone we wouldn’t do a business deal with because their — their background is so shady, if we’re willing to do that, then that’s in conflict with who I think we are. And so I think it’s necessary at those times to take a stand.”

Trump Digs In On Shutdown December 31, 2018 at 1:13 am EST New York Times: “The television is on. The phone is never far away. And President Trump is repeatedly calling allies such as members of Congress and conservative radio hosts, telling them privately that he will not give in on his demand for funding for a border wall.”
“What the president who campaigned on his ability to cut deals has not done, nine days into a partial government shutdown over his signature campaign issue, is reach out to Democratic congressional leaders to strike one.”
“Virtually alone in the West Wing since the shutdown began, Mr. Trump has instead aken to Twitter to excoriate Democrats, and highlight that he canceled his own vacation to his private club in Florida while lawmakers left the city.”
Washington Post: “Days before the start of a new Congress — and Trump’s first experience with divided government — there were no signs of direct negotiations involving the president, Republicans and Democrats to end the partial closure, affecting hundreds of thousands of increasingly anxious federal workers.” ____________________
A Year of Unprecedented Deception December 31, 2018 at 1:04 am EST Washington Post: “When 2018 began, the president had made 1,989 false and misleading claims, according to The Fact Checker’s database, which tracks every suspect statement uttered by the president. By the end of the year, Trump had accumulated more than 7,600 untruths during his presidency — averaging more than 15 erroneous claims a day during 2018, almost triple the rate from the year before.”
“Even as Trump’s fact-free statements proliferate, there is growing evidence that his approach is failing.”
“Fewer than 3 in 10 Americans believe many of his most-common false statements, according to a Fact Checker poll conducted this month. Only among a pool of strong Trump approvers — about 1 in 6 adults in the survey — did large majorities accept several, though not all, of his falsehoods as true.”
The past week has seen Trump manifest all those characteristics and more.
After a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Trump suddenly announced the withdrawal of the roughly 2,000 U.S. troops who are fighting in Syria. The Islamic State is basically defeated, Trump claimed — another of his myriad lies.
It is debatable whether the United States should have sent forces to Syria in the first place, but there was widespread agreement among military and foreign policy experts that abruptly pulling them out now is unthinkable. It will leave the Syrian Kurds — loyal U.S. allies — at the mercy of Erdogan and Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. It gladdens the hearts of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the mullahs in Iran. And, like so many of Trump’s decisions, it stems not from analysis but from caprice.
James, we are preaching to a very few, unbelievably self deceptive people who are in some cases, angry older white men who are frightened by the changing demographics and just can't stop the oncoming train.
Trump is losing the nation and feels like he's surrounded by enemies. He has created an enormous number of generals who will not work for him.
His tweets are getting worse. Even McConnell has left DC. He's spinning out of control.
Obama fired him for the interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
You actually agreed with the negro President?
it's the whole broken clock right twice a day thing, alky.
you wouldn't understand.
but yes, sometimes there were things that were so fucking glaringly fucking obvious that even 0linsky could grasp it. firing mcchrystal for allowing himself to be rolled and trolled by a rolling stone shitstain was one of those things.
and if they weren't, his closest aides should've been shitcanned too for allowing michael hastings to get that close to the general.
so mcchrystal did your thinking for you yesterday, eh?
not a choice i would've made but hey, whatever blows the wind up your skirt.
“President Donald Trump and the White House communications team revealed that a U.S. Navy SEAL team was deployed to Iraq,” claimed the Newsweek article.
But former special force members and military experts pointed out that the alleged special force operators shown, and any SEAL teams deployed to Iraq, are not in fact “covert,” as the Newsweek headline claims.
A covert operation is defined by the Department of Defense (DoD) as “an operation that is so planned and executed as to conceal the identity of or permit plausible denial by the sponsor.” In other words, the government would go to great lengths to conceal the identity of the operatives and their affiliation to the U.S.
But this is not the case with those shown in the video.
Kind of shows you what a losing propersition identity politics is. It is somewhat silly to guess your political origin based on the color of your skin, the language you speak, and especially the gender you are.
For no other reason that the basic fact is that a women's economic and political interest is exactly the same as the economic and political interest of the men in their lives. So they are more likely than not to vote the same way.
As for people liberals love to call "Hispanics"? A full 40% of them self-identified as "white" on the last census. (They are in fact as "white" as your typical American of mostly Northern European decent.)
“It turns out to be true now, that the Department of Justice and the FBI, under President Obama, rigged the investigation for Hillary and really turned the screws on Trump, and now it looks like in a corrupt & illegal way. The facts are out now. Whole Hoax exposed. @JesseBWatters
Kind of shows you what a losing propersition identity politics is.
precisely.
but that is the left's perpetual conundrum. when you are completely devoid of any rational ideas and offer no policy prescriptions that any sane person would accept, you are left with no option other than divisiveness.
you must use identity based upon race, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status or lately, any part of the alphabet soup of mental illnesses that draws such phony empathy from the left.
power is the goal - by any means necessary. and the flavor of the present day just happens to be identity politics. and it's all downhill from here.
the left thinks they get to have it both ways - by claiming to care about those downtrodden classes and victims, without really caring at all beyond the ability of those folks to drag their ass to the polls and pull the party line "D" lever every election.
one cannot be too cynical when trying to understand the left and their motivations.
Mr. McChrystal described Mr. Trump in starkly negative terms.
“If we want to be governed by someone we wouldn’t do a business deal with because their — their background is so shady, if we’re willing to do that, then that’s in conflict with who I think we are,” he said. “And so I think it’s necessary at those times to take a stand.”
Real Americans have to take a stand. We take over the House of Representatives on Thursday.
Laughing at both you and rat hole at the same time is priceless.....sorry your sense of humor is stuck so far up your ass!!!!! Idiot can't even admit he fucked up again.....LOLOOL

Mcchrystal clearly has a problem with civilian control of the military. Obama and trump could not be more different. Yet mcchrystal couldn't accept either of them.
Ocasio-Cortez proposes eliminating all fossil-fuel-powered electricity, closing every coal and natural gas power plant in the country, thus destroying the hundreds of thousands of jobs related to these businesses. Even more stunning, all this would occur by 2030, just 10 years after Ocasio-Cortez expects the legislation to be completed.
In its place, nearly all energy would be produced by renewable sources of power, especially wind and solar. This goal would create massive amounts of economic harm. Although economists have yet to provide an analysis of Ocasio-Cortez’s proposal to eliminate all fossil fuels, other studies have found less-extreme policies would be absolutely devastating. A study published in October 2018 by Capital Alpha Partners on behalf of the Institute for Energy Research found a national tax on carbon dioxide would cost the U.S. economy $4.21 trillion to $5.98 trillion, depending on the tax level chosen, in just the first 10 years of the tax scheme. By 2040, as much as $12.32 trillion would be lost. Nearly one-quarter of the country’s GDP, relative to what it would otherwise be, could be lost as a result of a nationwide carbon-dioxide tax. And this far left-wing plan is nowhere near as radical as Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal.
Not only would Ocasio-Cortez’s plan destroy trillions of dollars in wealth, but it would also be virtually impossible to achieve. When the wind isn’t blowing and the sun isn’t shining, renewable electricity generation relies on fossil-fuel power to keep the lights on. Currently, the only way to have a 100 percent renewable-energy-powered electric grid would be for Americans to live without power when renewables aren’t producing enough energy. Among many other problems, that means there would be no stable electricity sources for hospitals and other essential services.
Especially for record global warming and natural disasters.....
well d0pie, now that you mention it, a massive fucking earthquake that completely collapses san francisco is probably the only hope that town has left to get it's shit together.
i'm with you, it's time to flatten the place and start over.
Why Global Warming Alarmist are stupid and dangerous.
Unlike you and trump who are stupid and dangerous personified......At least she is on the good side trying to reduce consumption....BTW...20 US coal fired plants were closed this year.....more to come as renewables keep getting more cost efficient....a good thing...
Never post that asshole....go suck on donnie's dick till you get it right......grow up douche nozzle, you are not worth the elections transmitting your stupid posts....

What a triggered post by lo iq. Must have been typed while sucking his dick pacifier.
ROFLMFAO !!!
Guess lo iq is only worried about fraud on one side !!!
a shit load can be accomplished with minimal inconvenience....
uh huh.
which is exactly why so many of those "concerned scientists" have allowed themselves to be inconvenienced. minimally, even.
the only thing those frauds are "concerned" about is their unfettered access to taxpayer dollars in the form of grant money to fund their "research."
private jets to davos, 3/4 ton suburbans, and 11,000 square foot mansions is probably not my idea of exhibiting "concern." i don't begrudge al gore his immense wealth. just don't lecture me unless you're willing to walk the walk yourself.
the only guy i've ever seen who has ever used his bicycle to power his breakfast preparation is ed begley jr., and i haven't heard a thing about him in a very long time.
as glenn reynolds has said - i'll start becoming alarmed over warmyl cooling when those telling me to be alarmed become alarmed themselves.
until then, i'll just consider them to be the con artists they appear to be.
polar ice gone means sea levels rise. the water has to go somewhere.
Sorry rat hole....Polar Ice is already floating on the ocean surface meaning it has displaced its volume into the sea prior to melting....Did you ever take a science course?????? Nice try and amusing to me....
Some of the most memorable images from Al Gore’s movie, An Inconvenient Truth, are the graphics that show how rising ocean levels will dramatically alter our planet’s coastlines. As Greenland’s ice sheets collapse, Gore predicts that our shores will be flooded and sea-bordering cities will sink beneath the water leaving millions of people homeless. His narration tells the audience that, due to global warming, melting ice could release enough water to cause at 20-foot rise in sea level “in the near future.”
Although he doesn’t give a clear time frame for the 20-foot sea level rise, Gore’s statement seems to contradict several recent reports, including one published in 2008, that predict much smaller rises during this century.
Scientists say that the two main causes of rising sea levels are water expanding as it warms, known as thermal expansion, and melting land-based ice, such as ice from Antarctica and Greenland.
the only thing those frauds are "concerned" about is their unfettered access to taxpayer dollars
Sure rat hole.....that is your unfounded opinion.....most scientists actually love the fields they are researching....why else would someone be willing to work for peanuts in those fields???? They sure ain't getting rich by research....
Sorry rat hole....Polar Ice is already floating on the ocean surface meaning it has displaced its volume into the sea prior to melting....Did you ever take a science course?????? Nice try and amusing to me....
d0pie,
i'm mocking you, i'm mocking al gore and i'm mocking each and every one of there taxpayer funded "concerned scientists."
that's the point.
al gore said the polar ice would be gone five years ago.
al gore said there would be fish swimming in the streets of miami.
the man is a fraud of galactic proportions. and every time i see him and his disciples board a gulfstream to deliver yet another lecture to the rest of us i extend my middle finger in his direction.
our planet is 4.5 BILLION years old and it's climate has been dynamic since the beginning. it warms, it cools, it warms again. when i was a kid in the 70's the descendants of your "concerned scientists" were frantically trying to find a way to WARM the planet before it plunged into a fucking life-ending deep freeze.
yet here we are. having survived a couple years of certain death by freezing.
it's fantasy. if you want to believe in it, knock yourself out. just don't reach into my pocket to pay for your ruse.

well DUH.
what's not to love?
they're suckling on the public tit without having to do much. and if they're feeling especially ambitious they write a book that you stand in line to buy.
if they had to be self-funded i wonder how many of them would still be doing what they're doing.
they're suckling on the public tit without having to do much.
Are you speaking from experience or making shit up????? Ever work in research or science? By your posit that polar ice melt causes sea level rise is in itself an indictment on your lack of temerity when it comes to anything science....very amusing rat hole, please keep digging....LOLOLOLOL

Politico.

Where the hell did you get this from???
we know that the organizers of these big women marches hate both Jews and whites.
I suspect you listened to Rush Limbaugh for your beliefs about the organizations that will organize the march on Washington.
You claim to have a higher education.
Trump University is my guess.
So they admit using false documents to get hired.
And they admit trump, thinking they were legal and productive employees, would give them generous tips. How supportive of him.
Contrast that with the liberal women's march organizers who've been fully exposed as racist anti Semites.
And you thought anti-catholic bigotry went out with the 19th century.
Kamala Harris and Mazie Hirono are trying to bar observant Catholics from public office
n September 2017, Sen.

Where the hell did you get this from???
The New York Times
Anti-semitisim in The Women's March
JFK had to address the issue of his Catholic Church beliefs. He started clearly that his personal religious beliefs were not going to affect his actions as the President of the United States and the Constitution.
If justice candidates have stated in public that their religion will influence their decisions on the law and the Constitution, should not be confirmed.
The rule of law is a foundation of our democratic republic.
Fuck the ni****s!
You mean except for the ones you support.
Got it.
the alky will ignore it because he IS a virulent anti-semite.
The writer of this opinion piece did not site a single specific incident. Did you actually read what she wrote, or did you just read the headline??

I don't have to copy paste. Read it yourself or just admit you are just a hack.
no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
so 3 democrats - harris, hirono and feinstein - are in direct violation of the constitution.
sounds about right.
the article i posted corroborated the story and states it very clearly, alky.
now you're just being a fucking asshole.
no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States. absolutely necessary.
But they all swear to uphold the Constitution, not their specific religious beliefs.
If justice candidates have stated in public that if their religious beliefs will influence their decisions on the law and the Constitution, should not be confirmed under the Constitution.
But they all swear to uphold the Constitution,
As Justice Hugo Black said; "The Constitution is what we say it is"; and there lies the problem. There is no right to an abortion explicitly stated in the Constitution it is there because 5 justices said it was there.
The President stated specifically "That there are good people on both sides." In Charlottesville.
I posted his statement it very clearly, "let the bodies rot" now you're just being a fucking asshole.
Hugo Black
a klan member who hated blacks AND catholics, and was nominated to the court by fascist delano roosevelt.
quite the piece of shit.
You lost the debate on this specific issue.
Roe v Wade is an original intent decision.

Hypocrisy on steroids.
Fake News CBS
Roe v Wade is an original intent decision.
no, it's not, never was, and never will be construed as such.

He refused to listen to his advisers and instead watches Fox News and listening to Rush Limbaugh.

alky,
this comment is as near a perfect encapsulation of your stupidity as you may have ever posted.
trump did say he would take credit or responsibility for shutting down the government. and so he did. he shut the fucker down.
and he can also claim, with 100% accuracy, that is the policies of the democrats, specifically their refusal to allocate funding for a border wall/fence/barrier/whateverthefuck...because it's the truth.
in fact, the $5B is a pimple on a gnat's ass in terms of spending.
the democrats are behaving this way not out of a sense of responsibility or fiscal prudence, reason or logic.
they are behaving this way to deny trump a victory on this issue. period.
so in other words, the two statements you posted are not mutually exclusive or even contradictory.
and if you were not such a fucking moron you would've known this and perhaps never made the comment to begin with.

CALIFORNIA WOMEN’S MARCH CANCELLED OVER FEARS PARTICIPANTS WOULD BE 'OVERWHELMINGLY WHITE’
Bingo.

ND is in the ACC for everything instead of football. I get the tradition, but they had no business being there. I’m beginning to grumble like other Dawg faithful, I didn’t think they deserved it but damn. And after they shellack TX maybe the CFB selectors will just leave 2 permanent SEC teams in from now on
i completely agree, cali. the only way they join the ACC is if it starts to cost them rather than make them $$$.
without strength of schedule they'll continue to live a lie. a profitable lie, but still a lie.
it was good to see the GA and OSU players trolling the shit out of them.

What has been the public statements of .CA Govenor Brown , Anything from The .CA Senators? How about Nancy Polosi and Cuckold Schumer?

McChrystal Denounces Trump as Immoral and a Liar
December 30, 2018 at 10:26 am EST By Taegan Goddard 198 Comments
Retired four-star Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal criticized President Trump’s behavior and handling of the presidency, ABC News reports.
Said McChrystal: “I don’t think he tells the truth.”
When asked if Trump immoral, McChrystal said: “I think he is.”
He added: “If we want to be governed by someone we wouldn’t do a business deal with because their — their background is so shady, if we’re willing to do that, then that’s in conflict with who I think we are. And so I think it’s necessary at those times to take a stand.”

Trump Digs In On Shutdown
December 31, 2018 at 1:13 am EST
New York Times: “The television is on.
Washington Post: “Days before the start of a new Congress — and Trump’s first experience with divided government — there were no signs of direct negotiations involving the president, Republicans and Democrats to end the partial closure, affecting hundreds of thousands of increasingly anxious federal workers.”

A Year of Unprecedented Deception
December 31, 2018 at 1:04 am EST
Washington Post: “When 2018 began, the president had made 1,989 false and misleading claims, according to The Fact Checker’s database, which tracks every suspect statement uttered by the president.

(They are in fact as "white" as your typical American of mostly Northern European decent.)

precisely.
but that is the left's perpetual conundrum. when you are completely devoid of any rational ideas and offer no policy prescriptions that any sane person would accept, you are left with no option other than divisiveness.
you must use identity based upon race, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status or lately, any part of the alphabet soup of mental illnesses that draws such phony empathy from the left.
power is the goal - by any means necessary. and the flavor of the present day just happens to be identity politics. and it's all downhill from here.
the left thinks they get to have it both ways - by claiming to care about those downtrodden classes and victims, without really caring at all beyond the ability of those folks to drag their ass to the polls and pull the party line "D" lever every election.
one cannot be too cynical when trying to understand the left and their motivations.

Book Marked.
Happy New Year to Roger, James and Opie.
Why Global Warming Alarmist are stupid and dangerous.
If Ocasio-Cortez's 'Green New Deal' succeeds in 2019 it will be the most radical plan offered in decades
It goes on and on but you get the point.

polar ice gone means sea levels rise. the water has to go somewhere.
Scientists say that the two main causes of rising sea levels are water expanding as it warms, known as thermal expansion, and melting land-based ice, such as ice from Antarctica and Greenland.
.they legalized it.
What, counting legal votes??????? Sad you feel that way...
the only thing those frauds are "concerned" about is their unfettered access to taxpayer dollars
