California sanctuary laws hard at work!

After a shooting suspect’s ‘reign of terror,’ a California sheriff blames the state’s sanctuary law
While Garcia was in jail, ICE officials learned about his arrest and issued an immigration hold, the agency said. But the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office let him go — because they had no choice, Boudreaux said. Under state law, the office is barred from honoring ICE’s detainer requests, unless the agency obtains an arrest warrant signed by a federal judge.
Instead, Garcia was released. Just three minutes after the drive-by shooting at the orchard on Sunday, surveillance camera footage captured him wandering into the AA Gas and Grub mini mart in Exeter, where he fired several shots at the ceiling and told the cashier to give him $2,000 in cash.
Later that night, he reportedly shot at a woman sitting in her car in the parking lot of a Motel 6 in Tulare and sent a volley of bullets flying into a Shell gas station in nearby Pixley before shooting and killing a man who was standing outside a gas station in Visalia. At around 3 a.m. on Monday morning, Visalia police got another call: Garcia was standing in his ex-girlfriend’s backyard, yelling threats at her as he shot at her house. But by the time they arrived, he had disappeared.
Close to sunrise, a deputy from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office spotted Garcia’s gray Honda SUV on a flat county road outside the city and tried to stop him, police said at a Monday news conference. Garcia shot at the patrol car and ran into a nearby orchard, according to authorities, eventually coming across three farmworkers with a GMC truck. Brandishing his gun, he demanded that they let him take it, police said. Then, he sped out of town, driving south in the northbound lanes of Highway 65. He had smashed into multiple cars and was fleeing police at speeds of more than 100 mph when he was ejected from the truck at around 7 a.m. on Monday morning and was pronounced dead at the scene. Four people were hospitalized as a result of the collisions, and one sustained critical injuries.

Gotta love the way that the article headline sort of feels like a suggestion that the Sheriff's blame is misplaced. However, reading the story one would be hard pressed to blame anything "other" than the sanctuary laws for this violent criminal rampage.

This is a clear example at how coastal liberals are willing to sell out the safety of American citizens over the chance to kiss some more illegal immigration ass. It makes you wonder exactly how desperate the Democratic Party is to keep those new votes flooding in.

"Jimmy Kimmel Trashes ‘Dopey People’ Donating Their ‘Meth Money’ to Build the Border Wall

21 Dec 20182,575

2:21

ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel attacked supporters of the border wall crowd fund effort in a rant Thursday, accusing them of being “very dopey people” who are donating their “meth money.”

“The president might not need Mexico or Congress to pay for the wall at all, because there’s some very dopey people ready to pay for it themselves,” Jimmy Kimmel joked.

“This Trump supporter, Brian Kolfage, started a GoFundMe campaign to raise $1 billion for the wall. He launched it on Sunday, it’s already up to almost $9 million. This is what people do with their disposable income when they don’t have loans from college to pay off.”

anonymous said...

And the wall will stop this from happening??? Of course not...Will it stop drugs coming in....No the ports are the culprit for that....So sad and such a waste....

Now, the area’s top law enforcement official is placing the blame on California’s controversial “sanctuary state” law, known as Senate Bill 54, or the California Values Act. Garcia had previously been deported and was arrested just days before his violent rampage, Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux told reporters Wednesday. But because of the law, he said, his officers were unable to coordinate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Kolfage is a known trouble maker....granted a wounded vet...he is an example of why we need to give vets everything they need including hobby's

He was previously an administrator of the Right Wing News Facebook page, which was one of hundreds removed from the social networking platform in October for what Facebook described as “inauthentic activity.” As of 20 December, Kolfage was listed as a “social media and advertising strategist” for the RightWing.News website, which has a track record of publishing junk news and hyper-partisan conspiracy theories, some of which we have previously debunked.

Kolfage also ran a now-defunct affiliate website of Right Wing News called Freedom Daily, whose long record of producing often racially inflammatory junk news we have repeatedly documented. In February 2018, Freedom Daily was one of several such sites sued for defamation in federal court for falsely identifying a Michigan teenager as being responsible for the killing of Heather Heyer, an anti-racist counter-protester at the August 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

In 2014, Donald Trump sued to have his name taken off a pair of Atlantic City casinos he built three decades earlier that had gone bankrupt.

It took the president just 10 days this month to remove his name from something else he once proudly owned but that wasn’t going great — the federal government shutdown.

After threatening a shutdown for months over border wall funding and vowing last week that he would “take the mantle” of responsibility, Trump tried to shift the blame Friday, just hours before a government funding bill expired at midnight.

“The Democrats now own the shutdown!” he wrote on Twitter.

That was news to Democrats. “You own the shutdown,” Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) responded in a tweet, adding a video clip of his meeting with Trump and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in the Oval Office in which the president declared: “I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it.”

Two men were shot to death and three people were injured by gunfire in separate incidents across Minneapolis on Friday night.

The slayings come just hours after a fatal shooting Friday morning in St. Paul, marking one of the Twin Cities' deadliest days all summer.

Map: Man found dead on sidewalk outside bar

Officers were called to the 2000 block of Washington Avenue N. just before midnight on a report of shots fired. They found an adult male victim dead on the sidewalk outside Cliff N Norm's Bar and another in the area with a gunshot wound. He was taken to North Memorial Health Hospital.

As police were investigating, they were told another man and a woman with gunshot wounds arrived at area hospitals. The man went to North Memorial, while the woman went to Fairview Riverside for help. Both are expected to survive.

According to police dispatch audio, an off-duty officer reporting hearing at least 20 shots before cars were seen fleeing the scene.

St. Paul police investigating man's shooting death
Hours earlier, a man was killed behind a restaurant in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood.

Officers responded to the 1800 block of Riverside Avenue around 7:20 p.m., where they found a man dead inside a car in the parking lot behind the Hard Times Cafe.

The victim, a man in his 20s or early 30s, did not appear to be a University of Minnesota student, said those at the scene, although the shooting occurred close to the campus.

A crowd of about 50 people gathered behind a stretch of yellow police tape at the heart of the city’s Somali-American community.

Some of the victim’s family members and friends shouted angrily at police because his body remained at the scene during their investigation. Some also interrupted a TV news crew.

Mohamud Noor, executive director of the Confederation of Somali Community of Minnesota, decried yet another young person’s death at the hands of gun violence.

“It’s a moment for us to come together and solve some of the conflict that exists,” Noor said at the scene. “The safety of our students and community is something we all share a collective responsibility for.”

Shortly after the shooting, Hard Times Cafe co-owner Ari Donovan said the cafe would remain open Friday night. “I’d like everyone to be safe and at peace,” Donovan said.

"President Trump’s year of imposing tariffs on foreign imports to protect American jobs and industry has marked the highest level of optimism among U.S. manufacturers, a survey by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) reveals.

The survey of nearly 540 U.S. manufacturing firms found that about 90.6 percent, or 9-in-10, say they expect to increase workers’ wages over the next 12 months by at least up to three percent.

This breaks down to about 5.4 percent of firms saying they will increase workers’ wages by more than five percent over the next year, 32.5 percent who say they will increase wages between three and five percent, and nearly 53 percent who expect to hike wages by up to three percent.

The Republicans are again in dire danger.

Number of the week: A Quinnipiac University poll finds that 43% of voters support building a wall along the Mexican border. A majority, 54%, are opposed to such a wall.

If anything, the Quinnipiac poll is an outlier in favor of the pro-wall position. A CNN poll conducted earlier this month found that only 38% of Americans favored a wall, with 57% opposed. Either way, the average result is Americans clearly not wanting a wall.

The election is two years away. But unless he is removed from office or resigns, the blue wave is approaching hurricane force. It's not the Democrats who have already taken back the house. This President will not change his behavior. We won't see a 49 state victory. But the house and Senate and the White House will restore democracy. The Constitution will again come to the rescue of the United States of America.

Brett McGurk, special presidential envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, had been planning to exit his post in February 2019. But sources tell CBS News that he informed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that he will accelerate his departure due to a strong disagreement with President Trump's snap decision to withdraw 2,000 U.S. troops from Syria, effectively abandoning U.S. allies in the region.

McGurk submitted his resignation on Friday, just one day after Defense Secretary James Mattis quit his post citing fundamental disagreements with the commander-in-chief -- including one over the importance of honoring U.S. alliances.

The special envoy was publicly left in the lurch by the president's sudden declaration on Wednesday that he was pulling U.S. forces out of Syria, against the advice of his top national security advisers and without consulting U.S. allies.

As leader of the counter ISIS mission, McGurk had been in the region to meet with coalition partners including Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani last week when Mr. Trump made his sudden decision to pull U.S. support. According to Barzani's office, he had raised concern about the fate of Kurds in Syria including the Kurdish-led group of fighters known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). They have been the ground troops in the fight against ISIS and receive help from U.S. advisers, weapons and air strikes.

It is now unclear what will happen to those fighters after the U.S. troops withdraw, and whether the U.S. will continue to carry out air strikes in support of them.

They will get slaughtered.

Trump’s Christmas Shutdown Spooks GOP

“President Trump’s self-inflicted shutdown before Christmas has left Republicans with a debacle as their last act in control of the House. And now the party is even more worried about the outlook beginning Jan. 3, when Democrats take over,” Axios reports.

Said one adviser: “It’s a showdown, but one side has already lost.”

“For Republicans, the hell of this is that this could have been a celebratory week to a bleak political year: Trump yesterday signed a years-in-the making criminal justice reform bill, the First Step Act — an authentic bipartisan accomplishment that makes a true difference in the lives of tens of thousands.”
____________

Quote of the Day

“...with the benefit (or curse) of an inside perspective, I must say that the instability and chaos in our government the past few days has been particularly pronounced — worse than at any point during my service in Congress, and really, my lifetime. Things are not well in the USA.”
— Outgoing Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL), on Twitter.

Trump Has Discussed Firing Fed Chair

President Trump “has discussed firing Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell as his frustration with the central bank chief intensified following this week’s interest-rate increase and months of stock-market losses,” Bloomberg reports.

“Advisers close to Trump aren’t convinced he would move against Powell and are hoping that the president’s latest bout of anger will dissipate over the holidays… Some of Trump’s advisers have warned him that firing Powell would be a disastrous move.

“Yet the president has talked privately about firing Powell many times in the past few days.”
________________________

Reliable Allies Refuse to Defend Trump’s Chaos

“President Trump, who has long believed that he is his own best adviser and spokesman, was forced to test that idea on Friday when few of his allies seemed willing to publicly share in his evident satisfaction with the tumultuous events that have buffeted the White House in the past few days,” the New York Times reports.

“As he lost the public support of those once willing to step forward on his behalf, Mr. Trump grew angry over his news coverage and told people close to him that he would be fine without Mr. Mattis. He rebuffed them for even expressing concern.

“Mr. Trump also privately groused about having to postpone departure plans for his 16-day trip to Mar-a-Lago, his Florida resort.”

Politico: “The trend could prove perilous for the president after Democrats assume control of the House in January. Should the House vote to impeach Trump, he will have to rely on an increasingly exasperated Senate GOP conference to prevent him from being thrown out of office.”
________________________

Quote of the Day

“Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. But instead of honoring his responsibility to the American people, President Trump threw a temper tantrum and convinced House Republicans to push our nation into a destructive Trump Shutdown in the middle of the holiday season. President Trump has said more than 25 times that he wanted a shutdown and now he has gotten what he wanted.”
— House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), in a joint statement.

Trump Tries to Pin Shutdown Blame on Democrats

Washington Post: “In 2014, Donald Trump sued to have his name taken off a pair of Atlantic City casinos he built three decades earlier that had gone bankrupt. It took the president just 10 days this month to remove his name from something else he once proudly owned but that wasn’t going great — the federal government shutdown.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—After Trump announced that US troops would be pulled out of Syria, the President was quickly criticized by leaders on both the left and the right for breaking with the longstanding American tradition of remaining in Middle Eastern countries indefinitely.

Trump drew ire from both sides of the aisle for his "careless and reckless" disregard for the beloved American custom of meddling overseas without a congressional declaration of war and then hanging around for another few decades.

"Occupying a country on the other side of the globe and staying there forever is an American pastime," said a CNN host. "For Trump to pull out when we haven't even been there a decade yet is a disgusting display of his selfishness and unwillingness to conform to the standards of presidential decorum."

"Has he no respect for our ways of life?" the host concluded gravely.

In a rare moment of unity, pundits on Fox News agreed. "We just need another 20 or 30 years in Syria, and we can accomplish our goals," said a morning host on the right-leaning news station. "He didn't even really give our soldiers a chance to settle in."

"This is America, for goodness' sake—land of the free and home of messing with other countries' affairs. I don't like criticizing the president, but he's way off on this one," he added.

FARRELL: How The FBI Ran An Illegal Counterintelligence Masquerade In Plot To Get Trump

In examining the cast of FBI and senior Department of Justice (DOJ) officials fired, retired, resigned and under investigation since May 2017, the breathtaking scope of the FBI’s unprecedented criminal efforts to steer a presidential election and frame a newly elected president serves as Exhibit A for the organization’s disbandment. The “leadership” that willfully and corruptly ignored Hillary Clinton’s criminal mishandling of highly classified information had no problem faking a counterintelligence investigation to smear and destroy President Trump.

A recitation of the FBI/DOJ Litany of Shame is called for: Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Baker, Ohr, Yates, Priestap, Rybicki, Kortan, Campbell, Turgal, Bower, Steinbach, Giacalone, Laufman, Carlin, McCord — there are more, and eventually we’ll learn their names. Some took unlawful action draped in the American flag and smarmy self-righteousness. Some were careerists craving a retirement paycheck and a strong resume, standing by and doing nothing — negligent or complicit with guilty knowledge.

The group dubbed the “Secret Society” by FBI lawyer Lisa Page in a text to self-anointed FBI “Super Agent” Peter Strzok had a clear goal: Stop Trump. But how to do that “legally”? How does one manufacture a phony Russia hoax and hang it around Trump’s neck when you’re constrained from going after his campaign, organization and staff? continues at:
