Major Shutdowns

1995-1996 (21 days) - President Clinton / Republican House / Republican Senate
(Media blames Republican House and Senate for shut down).

2013 (16 days) - President Obama / Republican House / Democratic Senate
(Media blames Republican House for shutdown)

2018-2019 (35 days) - President Trump /Democratic House / Republican Senate
(Media blames Republican President for Shutdown)

So the reality here is that no matter the reasons for the shutdown, the Republicans will always get blamed.

  • The argument back regarding the first shutdown in question was that it was up to the Republicans in the House and Senate to come up with a spending bill that the President was willing to sign (even though the Republicans had just taken over the House and Senate with one of the largest wave elections in history... picking up 54 seats in the House, and 8 seats in the Senate).
  • In 2013, the argument was that Republicans only held one chamber of Congress and therefore, they should acquiesce to the President and Senate by matter of majority logic.
  • Of course today, the situation is completely reversed from what it was in 2013, therefor, so is the logic. Five years later, the majority argument is no longer valid. The House is now more powerful than the Presidency and the Senate. While that obviously makes no sense, the real issue in 2019 is that everything is the fault of Trump.

Republicans on the Homeland Security Committee are wasting their time. Democrats, despite all of the evidence, proof and Caravans coming, are not going to give money to build the DESPERATELY needed WALL. I’ve got you covered. Wall is already being built, I don’t expect much help!

The modern Republican party has become the least democratic party in history. Besides the voter id scheme, the Majority leader opposes making election day a national holiday because more Democrats will get out and vote.

It's summed up in this case.

In 2002, Mitch McConnell stood up on the Senate floor and delivered an impassioned oration on the moral necessity of disenfranchising former felons. He began his remarks with a four-word sentence that summarized the GOP’s attitude toward democracy more eloquently than the party’s enemies ever could: “Voting is a privilege.” In a historical standpoint he is correct. But in our country, voting is a right, not a privilege .

Seventeen years later, McConnell is still a stalwart champion of shrinking the electorate. But the Senate Majority Leader has grown less forthright with age. Now, instead of defending efforts to restrict the franchise on the grounds that voting is not a right (but rather, a perquisite, which elites like him can extend or withdraw as they see fit), McConnell has decided to go galaxy brain: On Wednesday, the Kentucky senator condemned the Democratic Party’s plan to make Election Day a federal holiday — on the grounds that this proposal constituted an anti-democratic scheme to rewrite election rules in one party’s favor.

“Just what America needs, another paid holiday and a bunch of government workers being paid to go out and work … [on Democratic] campaigns,” McConnell said on the Senate floor. “This is the Democrat plan to restore democracy? … A power grab.”?????

Just like the President said, most government employees vote Democratic. They have trying to suppress the right to choose our leaders.

--------

The Republicans fear elections with a high percentage turnout. Majority rule is guaranteed by the Constitution, but this party is scared to death.

Voting is a privilege reserve to citizens of the United States. A right applies to all individuals regardless of citizenship or immigration status.

I know you want to conflate it as a right so as to premit illegal immigrants to vote in elections.

Just doesn't work that way.

The only conflation is coming for the low intellect idiots like you....Maybe you can come up with a count on how many illegal votes were cast in 2018,,,,,,or how those reports of illegal registrants turned into votes....no reporting on that....Your fear of the bogey man is founded in your cultist fears of becoming a minority white voter....can't stop time....LOLOLOLOO

His undercutting of his own appointees is a threat to the safety of the United States.

Most 2020 Democrats Back an Abortion Bill Just Like Virginia’s

Democrats running for president in 2020 haven’t commented on the Virginia abortion bill, but most of them have effectively already told us where they stand, because they have cosponsored the Women’s Health Protection Act, federal legislation that would override state restrictions on third-trimester abortions.

Democratic senators who cosponsored the bill during the last Congress include 2020 presidential contenders Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Elizabeth Warren. Potential 2020 Democratic candidates Bernie Sanders, Amy Klobuchar, Cory Booker, and Sherrod Brown also cosponsored the bill. (Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, another Democrat running for president, did not cosponsor the House version of the bill in 2017, but she did oppose a federal bill banning abortion after the fifth month of pregnancy.)

According to the text of the Women’s Health Protection Act, the legislation would invalidate all state laws that prohibit “abortion after fetal viability when, in the good-faith medical judgment of the treating physician, continuation of the pregnancy would pose a risk to the pregnant woman’s life or health.”

Democratic senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, the bill’s chief sponsor, told me when he first introduced the bill in 2013 that the legislation’s requirement that all states must allow third-trimester abortions when maternal health was at risk did not distinguish between physical and mental health.

The Weekly Standard: The bill says that there cannot be bans post-viability if they don’t have an exception for the life or health [of the mother]. Does health include psychological and emotional health, as Doe v. Bolton did, Roe‘s companion case —
Senator Richard Blumenthal: It would include —

TWS: What is the definition of health. Physical? Or is it also emotional and psychological?

Blumenthal: These decisions will be made by doctors and patients, doctors and women. And they can make it for medically necessary reasons.

TWS: And you can’t say whether it’s physical or also psychological?

Blumenthal: It doesn’t distinguish.

Democrats for infanticide.

except for the gap-toothed fuckwit your team has picked to rebut the SOTU, alky:

Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D) said she "wouldn't oppose" non-citizens voting in local elections.

On PBS' "Firing Line," host Margaret Hoover asked Abrams what she thought about municipalities like San Francisco that have decided to allow non-citizens to vote in some local elections.

"I think there’s a difference between municipal and state and federal," Abrams responded. "The granularity of what cities decide is so specific, as to, I think, allow for people to be participants in the process without it somehow undermining our larger democratic ethic that says that you should be a citizen to be a part of the conversation,"

"So, in some cases, you would be supportive of non-citizens voting?" Hoover followed up.

"I wouldn’t be -- I wouldn’t oppose it," Abrams said.

tank knows full well that local and muni elections are often held on the same ballot as state and federal. the fat fuck wants to cheat, straight up.

alky, you shitbags have the dead voting, you have democrats voting in two places like NY and FL, you have precincts with over 100% voter participation, and you thieves are proud of it.

so yeah, considering how you want to give illegals drivers licenses, and motor voter exists at every DMV in the country, yeah, we know full well what your REAL intentions are.

stop lying alky. just stop.

Democrats for infanticide.

i think a fair compromise is that if dems want to continue the slaughter of infants via infanticide, then the same rules should apply for those illegally crossing our border.

if a beaner "dilates" a whole in the border barrier and "breaches" it...

...fucking shoot them dead.

for the health of the mother - the US - of course.
