Public Health Reports Several Cases of Flea-Borne Typhus
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) is investigating an outbreak involving several cases of flea-borne typhus in downtown Los Angeles and is working with the city of Los Angeles to implement environmental safety measures to reduce the spread of the disease. Flea-borne typhus is a disease that infected fleas can spread to humans. Bacteria (Rickettsia typhi and R. felis) found in infected fleas, and their feces, cause typhus. Fleas can come from many types of animals including cats, rats, and opossums. Although pets and animals do not get sick from typhus, typhus can cause high fever, chills, headache, and rash in people and can be treated with antibiotics. Places where there is an accumulation of trash that attract wild animals like feral cats, rats and opossums that may carry an infected flea may increase the risk of exposure. Typhus is not transmitted person-by-person.
“Although typhus normally occurs throughout LA County, we are observing several cases in the downtown Los Angeles area,” said Muntu Davis, MD, MPH, Los Angeles County Health Officer. “We encourage pet owners to practice safe flea control and encourage all cities in the county to ensure maintenance of their trash clean-up and rodent control activities.”

Kushner, who is married to Trump’s eldest daughter Ivanka, is a real estate scion who earned more than $1.7 million in income in 2015.
Like many Trump campaign insiders, Kushner has required legal guidance as he has attempted to navigate the special counsel and congressional investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 elections. Kushner has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing.
A spokesman for Lowell and officials with the Trump campaign declined to comment on the decision to direct campaign money to the legal fees facing the president’s son in law.
One source familiar with the reimbursements told ABC News that near the end of 2018, the campaign covered legal expenses for several former senior staff members who had testified before congressional committees. The House intelligence committee had afforded each person who testified the chance to have a lawyer review a transcript of their testimony as part of a plan to eventually see the transcripts made public.
Senior members of the campaign have incurred legal expenses in connection with a civil suit by the Democratic National Committee. It is unclear whether the campaign also reimbursed those campaign officials for those expenses.
The DNC filed the civil suit in April accusing a long list of defendants, Kushner among them, of being part of a conspiracy involving Russia’s effort to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.

But many of these so called government services (especially at the local level) is done by private contractors, who effectively run the operations for the city. These contractors (not the city) determine costs, billing, etc... and ultimately get paid for their work (making the profits).

Public Health Reports Several Cases of Flea-Borne Typhus
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) is investigating an outbreak involving several cases of flea-borne typhus in downtown Los Angeles and is working with the city of Los Angeles to implement environmental safety measures to reduce the spread of the disease.
Flea-borne typhus is a disease that infected fleas can spread to humans. Bacteria (Rickettsia typhi and R. felis) found in infected fleas, and their feces, cause typhus. Fleas can come from many types of animals including cats, rats, and opossums. Although pets and animals do not get sick from typhus, typhus can cause high fever, chills, headache, and rash in people and can be treated with antibiotics. Places where there is an accumulation of trash that attract wild animals like feral cats, rats and opossums that may carry an infected flea may increase the risk of exposure. Typhus is not transmitted person-by-person.
“Although typhus normally occurs throughout LA County, we are observing several cases in the downtown Los Angeles area,” said Muntu Davis, MD, MPH, Los Angeles County Health Officer. “We encourage pet owners to practice safe flea control and encourage all cities in the county to ensure maintenance of their trash clean-up and rodent control activities.”

Shelby is no fool and understands that the Democratic negotiators are not going to agree to a wall, no what Trump’s parameters might be. It is not altogether clear that Trump even knows what the deal might look like. He nevertheless appears to have given Shelby his proxy to close a deal.
There are at least three signs that the White House understands it won’t get what Trump wants.

In certain (BUT NOT ALL) countries with a lot of socialism weaved through the fabric, a country might very well "own" all natural monopolies, like local water supply, or hospitals.

When you say regulated it's really an academic exercise as to who owns it. The government makes all the decisions and takes all the wealth.
Your drinking water is socialism.
Your sewer system is socialism.
There are actually private water and sewer systems in the unincorporated parts of the county I live in.
But it's true they are traditional services provided by city government as is fire and police protection. And it's silly to call any of this socialism.
Occasionally-Cognitive wants meat-free Mondays substituting soy and lima beans on the theory that human farts aren't as bad as cow farts.

Contracting this out is more common than people probably think. Keep in mind that many people (at least around here) still use septic tanks and drink well water.
Roger must believe that any bill you pay to the city is actually an example of socialism. But many of these so called government services (especially at the local level) is done by private contractors, who effectively run the operations for the city. These contractors (not the city) determine costs, billing, etc... and ultimately get paid for their work (making the profits).
