House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff has vamped up his investigation of President Trump with the hire of a former federal prosecutor and MSNBC analyst who has already determined that Trump committed numerous felonies.
Daniel Goldman, who served as assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, will oversee the Intelligence Committee’s investigation of Trump, according to NBC News. Goldman joined NBC and MSNBC as a legal analyst after leaving government in 2017.
As a pundit, Goldman has made his thoughts about Trump clear, repeatedly asserting, without evidence, that Trump and his campaign associates colluded with the Russian government to influence the 2016 election.
“We already now know that the president has committed a felony in order to obtain the office of the presidency,” he said in a Dec. 14, 2018 segment on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
More respondents in a new poll said they believe Michael Cohen than President Trump in the wake of explosive Capitol Hill testimony by the president's former personal lawyer.
When asked by Quinnipiac University pollsters whom they believe more, 50 percent of the voters surveyed picked Cohen while 35 percent chose Trump.
Responses broke along partisan lines, with 79 percent of Republican respondents choosing Trump as more believable and 86 percent of Democrats saying Cohen is.
In an exclusive interview, Michael Cohen’s lawyer, Michael Monico reveals for the first time a 2017 check signed by key Trump figures allegedly linked to criminal payments to Stormy Daniels.
Monico walked "The Beat" host Ari Melber through why he thought the check is important: "When Michael Cohen went to see the president for the first time in the White House in February of 2017 and the president, as you may recall his testimony, that he looked at all the lovely art. Trump revocable trust, "a revocable trust that was theoretically begun so that the president would have some separation between his life as a politician and his life as a civil servant."
Monico, a former federal prosecutor, believes that the checks his client Cohen presented into evidence to Congress "would be the most damning legally." "The fact that the president of the United States wrote a check as president to Michael Cohen that was part of a scheme to violate campaign finance violations and to violate the rights of the American [people]."

A new Brookings study finds that 83% of the voting population lived in counties where support for Democrats has improved since 2016.
“This increased Democratic support was not confined to traditional Democratic base counties. It occurred in suburbs, smaller metropolitan and rural counties, and most noticeably, in counties with concentrations of older, native-born and white residents without college degrees. Moreover, at the state level, enough states flipped from Republican majorities in the 2016 presidential election to Democratic majorities in the 2018 House elections to project a 2020 Democratic Electoral College win.
“Trump won more than 270 Electoral College votes, based on winning support from states such as Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. All of those states registered Democratic advantages in their 2018 House elections.”
“The timing is all wrong,” said Rep. Jerrold Nadler, New York Democrat. “If this were the first two years of his administration I would advocate impeachment. A lot of people at home say impeachment, and I’m sure he committed a lot of impeachable offenses, but think about it practically.”
Mr. Nadler said impeachment hearings would be pointless and would only distract the country from the presidential election next year.
