Wow.... a municipal judge in red state Utah is suspended.....!!!!! Maybe congress can do the same to trump for his comments disparaging judges who have spanish surnames, or made a bad call in his mind.....then you might have something...!!!!!
A Utah judge has been suspended without pay for six months after making critical comments — online and in court — about President Donald Trump.
The state supreme court ruled Judge Michael Kwan violated the judicial code of conduct several times and diminished “the reputation of our entire judiciary,” according to an opinion filed last week.
As a municipal judge in the Salt Lake City suburb of Taylorsville since 1998, Kwan deals with misdemeanor cases, violations of ordinances and small claims.

During an exchange with a defendant during a January 2017 hearing, Kwan launched into a commentary about Trump's immigration and tax policies. Apparently behind in his fine payments, the defendant told Kwan he would pay after he received his tax refund.
Kwan questioned whether the defendant would get any money back.
"I pray and cross my fingers," the man said.
Kwan replied, "OK. Prayer might be the answer. ‘Cause he just signed an order to start building the wall and he has no money to do that, and so if you think you are going to get taxes back this year, uh-yeah, maybe, maybe not. But don’t worry, there is a tax cut for the wealthy so if you make over $500,000 you’re getting a tax cut. You’re right there, right? Pretty close? All right, so do you have a plan? Other than just get the tax cut and pay it off?"
Kwan, according to the Supreme Court opinion, contends that the comment was intended to be funny, not rude.
"It is an immutable and universal rule that judges are not as funny as they think they are. If someone laughs at a judge’s joke, there is a decent chance that the laughter was dictated by the courtroom’s power dynamic and not by a genuine belief that the joke was funny," Pearce wrote.

The Judge was being a political idiot and thought he was being funny. We all have constitutional rights that protect us from certain law enforcement abuses, but when we sign on to go to work for someone, we often times agree to give those up for the sake of following work guidelines. While it's a first amendment right to wear an offensive t-shirt out in public, wearing it to work can get you fired.
As a Judge, he takes an oath of the office. If he breaks it, he can be disciplined by the powers to be. Free speech (in this case) is red herring. Unless the Judge wants to argue that the oath itself (and Judicial rules in genera) is/are some sort of violation of the constitution... he's sort of SOL.

Federal judge who blocked Trump's border wall donated $20K to Obama
A federal judge who partially blocked President Trump’s plans to build a border wall along the United States-Mexico border previously donated almost $30,000 to former President Obama, other Democrats, and a political action committee.
U.S. District Court Judge Haywood Gilliam, an Obama appointee confirmed in 2014, donated $6,900 to Barack Obama’s debut campaign for president and $14,500 to his reelection campaign, according to federal election records. The same records also indicate he contributed $4,500 to the Democratic National Committee in 2012 and, between 2012 and 2015, sent $3,100 to the Covington Burling LLP PAC, which supports candidates from both parties. His contributions totaled $29,000.

Yet another way Obama’s spies apparently exploited the Trump ‘dossier’
The much-hyped Obama intelligence report that determined “Vladimir Putin ordered” Hillary Clinton’s campaign emails hacked and leaked “to help Trump’s chances of victory” has been accepted as gospel among DC punditry and given the investigations besieging the Trump presidency their legs. To date, no evidence has publicly emerged to corroborate the report, and the reason may have a lot to do with that sketchy dossier bought and paid for by Clinton.
Suspiciously, Barack Obama’s Intelligence Community Assessment matches the main allegations leveled by the Clinton-paid dossier on Trump, which wormed its way into intelligence channels, in addition to the FBI, Justice Department and State Department, during the 2016 campaign.
In fact, the shady dossier makes exactly the same claim — that Putin personally “ordered” the cyberattacks on the Clinton campaign and leaked embarrassing emails to “bolster Trump,” as part of “an aggressive Trump support operation.” Like Obama’s ICA, Clinton’s dossier provides no concrete evidence to back up the claim.
After learning Obama Justice and FBI officials relied heavily on unsubstantiated rumors in the dossier to wiretap a Trump adviser during the election, congressional leaders now suspect the dossier also informed Obama intelligence officials who compiled the ICA.
The report was released Jan. 6, 2017 — the same day intelligence officials attached a written summary of the dossier to a highly classified Russia briefing they gave Obama about the dossier, and the day after Obama held a secret White House meeting to discuss the dossier with his national security adviser and FBI director.
