The President is actually only a few tenths of a percent off his 2 year RCP high!
So the President's approvals are making a comeback. While one cannot be certain as to what is causing this, it would likely seem like it's a comparison thing at this point. People look at the shit-show that is now the Democratic primary season, then they couple this with "more" baseless allegations against Brett Kavanaugh, and then lastly they have to continue to listen to Fat Nadler and his talk of impeachment, and suddenly Americans must see the "bad orange man" as not quite that bad.
It's either someone who wants to do something good about the economy, someone who wants to help America win some trade wars, someone who wants to put an end to the American roll over with our adversaries... or a bunch of whiny complainers who only want to investigate and criticize.
The 2020 election will become a blood bath. No question about it. But while the left has tossed everything but the kitchen sink against Trump, his approvals are still sitting around the same place that they were (other than his first few weeks in office) at his highest levels. Moreover, his personal favorability numbers have actually risen since the 2016 election.
Meanwhile, Trump won in 2016 spending about $500 million. He will likely have three to four times that number. While the liberal MSM will do their best to protect whoever comes out of the Democratic primary season, the President will carpet bomb that person with negative ads. Right now the President is competing with one hand tied behind is back, and the other hindered. Once he knows who his opponent will be, then look for a fair fight.

Ukraine Will Investigate Biden’s Son If Trump Asks
Daily Beast: “Ukraine is ready to investigate the connections Joe Biden’s son Hunter had with the Ukrainian natural-gas company Burisma Holdings, according to Anton Geraschenko, a senior adviser to the country’s interior minister who would oversee such an inquiry.”
Said Geraschenko: “Clearly, Trump is now looking for kompromat to discredit his opponent Biden, to take revenge for his friend Paul Manafort, who is serving seven years in prison.”
Trump Says He Could End Afghanistan War ‘Very Quickly’
President Trump said that the United States could end the nearly 19-year war in Afghanistan “very quickly” if he chose to do so but that it would involve killing “tens of millions” of people, the Washington Post reports.
Said Trump: “We’ve been very effective in Afghanistan, and if we wanted to do a certain method of war, we would win that very quickly, but many, many, really, tens of millions of people would be killed, and we think it’s unnecessary.”
SICKO.
Trump Pressed Ukraine to Investigate Biden’s Son
“President Trump in a July phone call repeatedly pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son, urging Volodymyr Zelensky about eight times to work with Rudy Giuliani, his personal lawyer, on a probe,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
Washington Post: “The disclosure comes amid new details about the White House’s role in preventing Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire from complying with Congressional demands for the material in the complaint.”
“White House Counsel Pat Cipollone has been engaged in the matter since shortly after the whistleblower action surfaced, officials said, helping to identify legal obstacles to the sharing of information that could be politically damaging to Trump.”
Quote of the Day
“The president asked a foreign power to help him win an election. Again.”

Congress Should Allow Indictment of Presidents
Speaker Nancy Pelosi told NPR that she has not changed her mind on pursuing impeachment but is ready to change the law to restrain presidential power and make it clear that a sitting president can, in fact, be indicted.
Said Pelosi: “I do think that we will have to pass some laws that will have clarity for future presidents. A president should be indicted, if he’s committed a wrongdoing — any president. There is nothing anyplace that says the president should not be indicted.”
She added: “That’s something cooked up by the president’s lawyers. That’s what that is. But so that people will feel ‘OK, well, if he — if he does something wrong, he should be able to be indicted.'”
Trump Tries to Quell Scandal Saying Quiet Part Out Loud
Washington Post: “Much as he did three years ago — when he asked Russia to hack the emails of his Democratic rival — President Trump on Friday seemed to make a similar request of Ukraine, all but urging the Eastern European nation to investigate Joe Biden, his potential Democratic opponent.”
“For Trump, controversial public disclosures have became almost routine, with the president saying the potentially scandalous part aloud. It is a form of shamelessness worn as a badge of protection — on the implicit theory that the president’s alleged offenses can’t be that serious if he commits them in full public view.”
Trump Has Done Plenty to Warrant Impeachment
George Conway and Neil Katyal: “It is high time for Congress to do its duty, in the manner the framers intended. Given how Trump seems ever bent on putting himself above the law, something like what might have happened between him and Ukraine — abusing presidential authority for personal benefit — was almost inevitable. Yet if that is what occurred, part of the responsibility lies with Congress, which has failed to act on the blatant obstruction that Mueller detailed months ago.”
“Congressional procrastination has probably emboldened Trump, and it risks emboldening future presidents who might turn out to be of his sorry ilk. To borrow John Dean’s haunting Watergate-era metaphor once again, there is a cancer on the presidency, and cancers, if not removed, only grow. Congress bears the duty to use the tools provided by the Constitution to remove that cancer now, before it’s too late. As Elbridge Gerry put it at the 1787 Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, “A good magistrate will not fear [impeachments]. A bad one ought to be kept in fear of them.” By now, Congress should know which one Trump is.”
Bonus Quote of the Day
“A president is sitting in the Oval Office, right now, who continues to commit crimes. He continues because he knows his Justice Department won’t act and believes Congress won’t either. Today’s news confirmed he thinks he’s above the law. If we do nothing, he’ll be right.”
— Sen. Elizabeth Warren, on Twitter.

"The National Rifle Association labeled presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke the "AR-15 salesman of the month" after he called for the confiscation of AR-15s and AK-47s.
The gun rights group suggested the former Texas congressman could even be the AR-15 salesman of the year.

"The last Republican to win Minnesota was Richard Nixon in 1972. It's generally considered a blue state, but in 2016, Donald Trump barely lost Minnesota by roughly 44,000 votes. According to a CNN report that aired Thursday evening, the state appears to be trending red and could be fertile ground for a Trump pickup in 2020. CNN's Martin Savidge found that Minnesota voters are “more and more aligned” with President Trump. The mayor of Eveleth, Minn., Robert Vlaisavljevich, for example, votes Democrat locally but is a Trump supporter. "He's our guy, he supports mining. He's our guy." He's not alone. “Folks here say they didn’t leave the Democratic Party, the party left them,” Savidge reported."...
