Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump backfire
Kiev officials are scrambling to make amends with the president-elect after quietly working to boost Clinton.
“Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.”

This is pretty much Politico (who is no friend of Trump) explaining all of the manners in which the Ukrainian Government worked with the DNC during the 2016 election, and how it was that they put Paul Manafort "under the radar" so to speak.

The difference between this article and most of the articles Politico writes about the President is that there is an actual interview with a couple of named sources. While they do toss in a couple of reference to "people familiar" and "government officials" they at least have sources willing to come forward.

But it's clear that there was plenty of evidence that the DNC partnered with Ukraine to gain an election advantage. But of course, the liberal law states that this is perfectly legal when you are attempting to defeat the bad orange man.

the scumbags on '60 minutes' pulled this shit just last night -

Several national media outlets have raced Amodei’s comments out into the public sphere to use them to create the appearance of dissent in GOP ranks when it comes to Pelosi’s “impeachment inquiry” of the president. Among them are the New York Times, MSNBC, CBS News, and several others who claim Amodei became the first Republican to support an “impeachment inquiry” of Trump. But Amodei, in a lengthy interview with Breitbart News on Saturday afternoon, confirmed that no he does not support an “impeachment inquiry” of Trump and in fact does not have a position that is different from the White House or other Republicans in Congress at this point.

How the Whistleblower Complaint Almost Didn’t Happen

The Daily reports that before the whistleblower filed a formal complaint with inspector general for the Intelligence Community, he or she tried to do it through the CIA’s internal watchdog system.

But the White House found out and quashed it. So the whistleblower escalated.

Ukraine Unlikely to Release Transcripts of Calls

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Monday Kiev was unlikely to publish a summary of a July 25 call in which U.S. President Trump pushed for an investigation into political rival Joe Biden,” Reuters reports.

“Zelenskiy said that Kiev was ready to investigate any case in which the law was broken, but as an independent country, it would not act simply on the orders of others. He said he had had two phone conversations with Trump.”

Stalled Ukraine Military Aid Concerned Lawmakers

CNN: “Lawmakers on Capitol Hill couldn’t figure out over this past summer why nearly $400 million in aid they’d voted to go to Ukraine still wasn’t in the country’s coffers.

“There was growing speculation by the end of August. Congressional leaders, their aides and members of key committees — including the Appropriations, Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees — were scrambling to figure out why money that had been appropriated by Congress months before still hadn’t been disbursed. Outreach by lawmakers to key agencies left few clues other than the delay was coming from the White House and no one could pinpoint exactly what the reason was.”

Why Republicans Defend Trump

Peter Wehner: “Month after month, with one outrageous, norm-shattering comment or action giving way to another, Republicans who in the past could never have envisioned being Trump acolytes, have been ground down. Accommodation has kicked in, which is a psychological relief to many of them. For those who view Mr. Trump as a model politician who voices their grievances and fights with a viciousness they have long hoped for from Republicans, the accommodation is not just a relief but a source of delight.

“As the psychologist I spoke to put it to me, many Republicans ‘are nearly unrecognizable versions of themselves pre-Trump. At this stage it’s less about defending Trump; they are defending their own defense of Trump.'

“‘At this point,’ this person went on, ‘condemnation of Trump is condemnation of themselves. They’ve let too much go by to try and assert moral high ground now. Calling out another is one thing; calling out yourself is quite another.'”

Democrats See Impeachment as Weapon In Senate Races

Politico: “Senate Democrats are growing increasingly giddy at the prospect of seeing a half-dozen vulnerable senators squirm for weeks and months about Trump’s behavior before eventually being forced to go on the record to convict or acquit Trump if he’s impeached by the House.

“While conventional wisdom holds that trying to remove the president could cost House Democrats in battleground seats that Trump won in 2016, there’s a sense in the party that it could improve Democrats’ bid to seize the Senate.”

Giuliani Was Not Working Alone on Ukraine

Giuliani was not the only attorney trying to get damaging information on Joe Biden from Ukrainian officials,” FOX NEWS reports.

“In addition to Giuliani, Washington, D.C., lawyers Joe DiGenova and his wife, Victoria Toensing, worked alongside the former New York City mayor. According to a top U.S. official, the three attorneys were working ‘off the books’ — not within the Trump administration — and only the president knows the details of their work.

Also interesting: “Fox News has learned that the Pentagon, State Department and National Security Council were ‘unanimous’ in supporting the aid to Ukraine, and that Trump acted alone in withholding the aid over the summer.”

Ex-Trump Adviser ‘Deeply Disturbed’ by Ukraine Call

“President Trump was repeatedly warned by his own staff that the Ukraine conspiracy theory that he and his lawyer were pursuing was ‘completely debunked’ long before the president pressed Ukraine this summer to investigate his Democratic rivals, a former top adviser said on Sunday,” the New York Times reports.

“Thomas P. Bossert, who served as Mr. Trump’s first homeland security adviser, said he told the president there was no basis to the theory that Ukraine, not Russia, intervened in the 2016 election and did so on behalf of the Democrats. Speaking out for the first time, Mr. Bossert said he was ‘deeply disturbed’ that Mr. Trump nonetheless tried to get Ukraine’s president to produce damaging information about Democrats.”

Democrats Plot Messaging War with Trump

Now why would Democrats face blowback in their district?

Answer: Because they broke their promise they would work on issues instead of impeachment.

The whistleblower at the center of the impeachment investigation of President Trump will testify in the House “very soon,” though in a way that will protect his identity,

That will not be acceptable to the American people. If Pelosi really think it's about the Constitution then she would follow Constitutional norms and allow the accused to confront his accuser.

C.H. Truth said...

If the whistle blower "testifies" behind closed doors and nobody knows who the person is, then that testimony will be virtually worthless, and likely just undermine the entire thing.

Our constitution provides that all accused are allowed the opportunity to confront their accuser. Failure to follow constitutional norms will render the entire process a farce.

Whistleblower's lawyer says Trump endangering his client
NBC News
ALEX JOHNSON
Sep 30th 2019 7:13AM

The attorney for the intelligence community whistleblower whose complaint fueled a House inquiry into impeaching President Donald Trump says he has "serious concerns" that Trump's comments had put his client in danger.

The unidentified whistleblower's legal team sounded the alarm in a letter, dated Saturday and made public on Sunday, to Joseph Maguire, the acting director of national intelligence.

The letter, which was signed by Andrew P. Bakaj, the whistleblower's lead attorney, pointed to Trump's call last week for "the person who gave the whistleblower the information" to be publicly identified.

It said the president's remarks were among the events that "have heightened our concerns that our client's identity will be disclosed publicly and that, as a result, our client will be put in harm's way."

Bakaj acknowledged that it was the whistleblower's source of information whom Trump's statement targeted, but he wrote that the distinction "does nothing to assuage our concerns for our client's safety," claiming that "certain individuals" had put out a $50,000 bounty for information relating to the whistleblower's identity, as well.

The letter offered no further information about the purported bounty. The Washington Examiner, a conservative political website, reported last week that two right-wing activists had offered $50,000 for "credible information corroborating" the whistleblower's identity.

In a series of tweets on Sunday, after Bakaj's letter was sent to Maguire, Trump made it clear that he does, indeed, want the whistleblower to be outed.

"Like every American, I deserve to meet my accuser, especially when this accuser, the so-called 'Whistleblower,' represented a perfect conversation with a foreign leader in a totally inaccurate and fraudulent way," the president wrote.
____________

No, Mr. President, you sit there like a child while I explain to you and to Ch that your real "accusers," if you want to call them that, are the people whom the whistleblower heard expressing their alarm and concern that you had behaved as you did. It is they, many of whom were your own people, your own supporters, who are your real problem at this point, not the whistleblower who only behaved as any patriotic American should

Comprendo? Probably not.

C.H. Truth said...

If the whistle blower refuses to come forward...

Along with the FACT that none of the other so called first hand witnesses have come forward...

I think we can all pretty much assume that he/she lied.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Poor attempt, Ch. The whistleblower does not need to come forward. People whom he/she says he/she heard expressing their concern are the ones who will need to be questioned: Why were you so upset? What did you say? Why did you not come forward and openly express your deep concerns to others, to the American public? To whom DID you express these concerns and why?

You see? That's how these things operate. The whistleblower is not citing firsthand information, but only those who had firsthand information. It is they who, willing or unwilling, are going to be the real "witnesses."

The examination must center on them. Not the whistleblower.

Across the country, greater access to Medicaid under the ACA translated into higher costs and more dependence on the federal government. Mexico will "pay" for the wall when the left stops fighting the interests of the American people. Until then hundreds of billions of annual additional costs will be paid for by the American taxpayer.
