Reason number two why IG was wrong to call report "credible"

There is not any question that the report in question is second hand. In fact, none of the information is first hand. Meaning by the own guidelines, the IG was incorrect to view this as "credible" and the DNI was correct in not classifying it as such.

This is looking more and more and more like the IG was either incompetent, partisan, or coerced into this.

The White House officials who told me this information were deeply disturbed by what had transpired in the phone call. They told me that there was already a “discussion ongoing” with White House lawyers about how to treat the call because of the likelihood, in the officials’ retelling, that they had witnessed the President abuse his office for personal gain.

The Ukrainian side was the first to publicly acknowledge the phone call. On the evening of 25 July, a readout was posted on the website of the Ukrainian President that contained the following line (translation from original Russian-language readout):

“Donald Trump expressed his conviction that the new Ukrainian government will be able to quickly improve Ukraine’s image and complete the investigation of corruption cases that have held back cooperation between Ukraine and the United States.”

You are getting desperate.

Read what CHT posted. He doesn't by his own admission qualify as a "whistle-blower" He lacked first hand knowledge.

Schiff had the "whistle-blower who wasn't" report for 6 weeks.

Why did he hold it? Awful similar to Diane Feinstein during the supreme court proceedings, something about those California politicians.

Report: Fox News Flails Amid Multiple Bombshells From Trump’s Ukraine Scandal
FOX Studios on August 16, 2011 in New York City.

It's been quite a turbulent week for President Donald Trump, and now his favorite cable news network is reportedly in a tailspin.

According to a Vanity Fair report on Thursday, the right-wing network is divided over whether to stay loyal to Trump or to jump ship amid the Ukraine scandal and the House’s impeachment inquiry.

An unnamed Fox employee described the situation to Vanity Fair as “management bedlam.”

“This massive thing happened, and no one knows how to cover it,” the employee said.

Four unnamed sources told Vanity Fair that Fox Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch is already planning what direction the network will take when Trump’s presidency comes to an end.

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), who joined Fox Corporation’s board of directors in March, has reportedly been urging Murdoch to cut ties with Trump altogether.

Even diehard Trump loyalist Sean Hannity is apparently starting to back away: The Fox host reportedly told his friends that the newly released whistleblower complaint detailing Trump’s call with the Ukrainian president is “really bad.”

Trump’s relationship with Fox has been on the rocks in recent months, with the President grousing that the network’s poll numbers on him aren’t favorable enough or that certain hosts aren’t flattering enough. However, Fox is reportedly unconcerned with the potential consequences of Trump’s complaining.

OH NO! EVEN FOX NEWS IS WORRIED!!!!!!!!!!

Notice, the WHISTLEBLOWER is stating that Ukraine may not have been aware that military aid was threatened at the time of the infamous phone call (they learned in early August, apparently). So how can there be a quid pro quo when the target DOESN’T KNOW HE’S BEING THREATENED?

Good question maybe Roger has the answer.

This confirms the whistleblower report. Again, if the Ukrainians didn’t know that Trump was threatening aid, with what, precisely was he threatening them? More importantly, why haven’t the media been focusing on this angle? (I think we know the answer.)

Finally, the blown ABC report. They claimed that a Ukrainian adviser to Zelenskyy had said that Zelenskyy was aware that Trump wanted Biden or bust. But then the advisor completely walked that back and said he was essentially repeating media rumors.

So, here’s what we’re left with: speculation about an aid-based quid pro quo in a transcript -- speculation openly rebutted by the whistleblower report, an NYT source, and this Ukrainian advisor to Zelenskyy. That’s pretty weak tea.

So what exactly is the high crime or misdemeanor here?

Michael Atkinson, the IC IG who was so super concerned about the whistleblower claims, worked in the Obama DOJ. He was a top deputy for John Carlin, who worked on the Carter Page FISA then for Mary McCord, who was in on the Mike Flynn set-up:
https://www.cnn.com/2019/09/23/politics/ic-ig-michael-atkinson-whistleblower-complaint/index.html

It’s not farfetched to believe this “whistleblower” complaint is simply an extension of the failed collusion hoax. CrowdStrike working with DOJ in early 2016. One of its owners is a former Obama-era FBI deputy.

CrowdStrike - John Carlin - McCabe - McCord - Atkinson, IC IG:

C.H. Truth said...

But, but, but.... the media is telling everyone that Atkinson is a Trump guy.

And fucking idiots believe them because they are sheep!

C.H. Truth said...

So what we have here is the following

- A Trump hating partisan CIA agent working with DNC attorneys
- Decides to use second hand info to file a whistle blower complaint
- Information illegally leaked to him by other agents
- Seeks out a Crowdstrike/McCabe/Obama IG in Atkinson
- Atkinson ignores IG protocol in multiple ways to declare complaint valid
- The DNI disagrees, goes to the OLC, they also disagree
- The information then gets illegally leaked
- The "actual" facts turn out to be much different than allegations

And Democrats declare that they want to impeach Trump?

Yeah... the corruption here is all on the left!

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

I'm not a crook.

Deep throat is a traitor who hates Nixon.

The parallels to the Nixon impeachment and this one has is even worse, because Nixon had a conscience and a loyalty to the Constitution and the history of the Presidency.

Trump is ignorant about the Constitution and the history of the last decades. He takes the word of Vladimir Putin over the intelligence people, because he thinks they are out to destroy him.

TDS obviously causes blindness, moved to impeachment before even seeing "facts", of course this is a manufactured impeachment and they can do like Schiff did this morning, make shit up.

You have no problem with the President soliciting assistance from a foreign nation, to enhance his chances of getting reelected.

If President Hillary Clinton, had gone to a foreign nation to get dirt on her strongest potential opponent, you would be shouting #impeachment through the rafters!

Hillary Clinton hired a British agent to go to a foreign nation specifically to dig up dirt on her political opponent.

- Liberals said it was just opposition research

Obama went to Ukraine and asked for assistance in investigating Paul Manafort.

- Liberals said that was a justified act

Obama's Dept of Justice and FBI used Hillary Clinton paid opposition research to investigate a political opponent and used misleading FICA apps to spy on his campaign.

- Liberals pretend it was a justified investigation

But Trump takes a phone call and mentions an investigation and Democrats demand that he should be impeached. And say they would make the same objection if one of theirs did it...

But forget it happened three times in the past few years and they never objected.

Scott, since you seem to believe that you understand the law.

Federal law states it is illegal to "knowingly solicit, accept, or receive from a foreign national any contribution or donation.

It's obvious that he actually admitted soliciting assistance from the President of Ukraine.

The house of representatives has the authority to determine if the President committed high crimes and misdemeanors. Is soliciting assistance a high crime or misdemeanor under federal law??

He asked for a favor..

We will see!

Trump's own words matter.

So the whistle-blower came out and said nothing. Said “a couple of people told me he had a conversation with Ukraine.” We’re at war. These people are sick. They’re sick. And nobody’s called them out like I do. I don’t understand. People are afraid to call them out. They’re afraid to say that the press is crooked. We have a crooked press. We have a dishonest media. So now they’re devastated, but they’ll always find something. I’m sure there’ll be something they’ll find in this report that will suit their lie. But basically that person never saw the report, never saw the call. Never saw the call. Heard something, and decided that he or she or whoever the hell it is — sort of like almost a spy.

A C.I.A. officer is a spy according to the President.

We want you to do us a favor.

Solicitation is a high crime and misdemeanor.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The Wall is tumbling down. Except for the esteemed ex normal host.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), a conservative usually aligned with Trump, said he would “not be happy” to learn that the White House was restricting records of the call between Trump and the Ukrainian president. Retiring Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas) stated succinctly that “there is a lot in the whistleblower complaint that is concerning.”

But just a few hours later, both men effectively muted their concerns. Johnson said he’d heard from the White House that the call summary released on Wednesday was complete and that his “concerns were satisfied.” And despite having a high-profile opportunity to interrogate the acting Director of National Intelligence at a House Intelligence Committee hearing, Hurd uttered nothing the rest of the day to expand upon his angst. Sasse of Nebraska is not comfortable with the President.

A handful of GOP lawmakers have evinced concern about the president’s call with Ukraine: Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) found it “troubling.” Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) has called it “inappropriate.” Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) said on Thursday, “I want to say to the president, 'This is not okay. That conversation is not okay.'”

Politico reported

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Here are 5 things you need to know about the document. The Whistleblower report

Trump was "using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country" in the 2020 election.

The interference includes, among other things, pressuring a foreign country to investigate one of the president's main domestic political rivals. ... The president's personal lawyer, Mr. Rudolph Giuliani, is a central figure in this effort. Attorney General (William) Barr appears to be involved as well.

The White House was so concerned it moved to "lock down" the transcript of the July phone call and removed it from a computer system typically used to store such call records and put it in a more secure system.

According to White House officials the whistleblower spoke with, that was "not the first time" the Trump administration placed a presidential transcript "into this codeword-level system solely for the purpose of protecting politically sensitive — rather than national security sensitive — information."

The whistleblower, whose identity and gender is not known, was not a "direct witness" to most of what was described, relying instead on what others in the White House and administration told him or her and media accounts.

as well it should alky. because no whistle was blown.

the whole thing is contrived, and this clown, whoever he/she is, blew no whistle and reported no alleged crime. they simply ran with some third-hand hearsay fueled by their TDS, and are now using the whistleblower laws to hide behind.

not only is this person a spy, they're a coward. like you and your draft-dodging ass.

This is looking more and more and more like the IG was either incompetent, partisan, or coerced into this.

or it could be that the IG is simply a deep-stater themselves, and priority one is protecting their own ass. government jobs at that level are sweet. workload is minimal, $$$ is great, and there's no downside for just hiding behind some bullshit rule that probably doesn't even apply and say you did it as a precaution.

having said that, if i had to pick one of the three you mentioned i'd go with coercion. he/she probably was cowed by some thinly veiled threat from some shitstain house democrat or an aide, and since remaining employed at big $$$ for doing little is the goal, they probably figured cooperating with house dems has no downside. impeachment fails - still has cushy gubmint job. impeachment succeeds - still has cushy gubmint job.

when you spend as much time as i have working around government employees you understand quickly how they think and what motivates them. and you realize that if they were forced to do real work in the private sector they'd starve to death.

And that simple question asked on that thread was:
_______

Hey, Ch, answer this with a simple, clear cut answer.

You and Trump seem to want to say that his conversation with an Ukrainian official was no serious matter, had nothing harmful or criminal about it, nothing to be upset about.

Why then did the White House start making every attempt to lock it away and hide it from the public almost immediately after it took place, and before anyone outside their circle had even raised objections to it?

Why did some of Trump's own people immediately determine that he had done something so egregious that they had better do everything they could to try to hide it from the public?

Give us a simple answer to that, please.
