Impeachment Fiasco voted forward...

It's official! It's Partisan!

Not a single Republican vote for the bill. Only two Democrats (Colin Peterson of Minnesota and Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey) voted against it. A handful were not present for the vote. To compare and contrast, over 30 Democrats voted to open the investigation into Bill Clinton.

Of course, Bill Clinton was accused of breaking the law, whereas Trump is being accused of being "improper" in the eyes of many never-Trump deep state actors who were upset with his foreign policy decisions. Democrats have all but given up on arguing that Trump "broke the law" and instead are focusing on whether or not he is abusing power and obstructing their faux inquiry.

Impeachment Resolution Passes House
October 31, 2019 at 11:29 am EDT

The impeachment resolution introduced by the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives reached a majority, 232 to 196, clearing the way for public hearings.

Reps. Colin Peterson (D-MN) and Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) voted against the resolution, while every House Republican opposed the measure.

Rep. Justin Amash (I-VT), who recently left the Republican party, joined the vast majority of Democrats in supporting the resolution.

Ex-GOP Senator Would Vote to Impeach Trump
October 31, 2019 at 11:52 am EDT

“In March of 1974, then-Washington Attorney General Slade Gorton (R) broke with fellow Republicans with a public call for President Richard Nixon’s resignation amid revelations of abuse of power related to the Watergate scandal,” the Seattle Times reports.

“More than four decades later, with Congress poised to take a key vote Thursday to formalize an impeachment inquiry into President Trump, Gorton is once again at odds with most in his party, who have dismissed the Ukraine investigation as a partisan witch hunt.”

Said Gorton, who later became a U.S. Senator: “I reached the conclusion that THERE ARE A DOZEN ACTIONS ON THIS PRESIDENT'S PART that warrant a vote of impeachment in the House.”

Rep. Maxine Waters: "I look forward to Democrats and Republicans alike prioritizing country over party."

She voted three previous times to impeach the president for the high crimes of insulting NFL players, allegedly saying s-hole countries, and tweeting about The Squad.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN MAXINE and btw how's that US/Mexico/Canada trade bill coming ?

Under the rules Democrats just voted for, Trump will be cast into a deep body of water. If he floats, it proves he committed impeachable offenses. If he drowns, it proves he is innocent and shall be posthumously cleared of all accusations.

This is shaping up to be a really bad day for Democrat Impeachment Theater.

@GOPLeader

BREAKING ⇒ 100% of Republicans just voted AGAINST this sham impeachment. Two Democrats joined us.

Speaker Pelosi and Chairman Schiff have both insisted that impeachment should be bipartisan. The only bipartisan vote today was AGAINST impeachment.
