Selected Reporting

So I saw a lot of press (and criticism)  over the following text regarding DACA. Many were suggesting that the President was being callous and criticizing without just cause. After all, if you ask the average liberal, they will tell you that illegal immigrants (who statistically are two to three times more likely to commit crimes) do not commit any crimes.
What was ignored by most of these critics was the second tweet on the subject from Trump. You know, the one with the statistic that backs up his original tweet.
The Press loves to "selectively" report on this President. Only report the stuff that could make him look bad, while leaving out things like context. In this case, they are basically suggesting that the President was making claims he can't back up, while basically ignoring the part where he backs it up.

Typical liberal press. Can't tell the whole truth or it doesn't tell the story they prefer.

What the President is doing here is setting up some pre-negotiation strategy. For those of you who are not aware of exactly what DACA does, it actually caters to criminals. If someone eligible for DACA is arrested and convicted of a crime that is okay, as long as it's not a felony. Still eligible. If they are arrested and convicted of a second crime that is also okay, as long as it's not a felony. If they are arrested and convicted of a third crime... would that be three strikes and your out? Nope. Not unless it's a felony.

So you could have a 25 year old person, technically here illegally who has committed, was charged with and either plead guilty to or was convicted in court of three criminal actions and still be welcomed with open arms by our DACA standards.

I think everyone would feel bad for that good person, who has never been in trouble (or maybe just flirted with some trouble) who might end up being deported. The one who grew up here and knows nothing about the country that they would be deported to. Have to leave everything and everyone they know behind... to go somewhere that is completely foreign to them.

Nobody should "really" want to do that to people. But I think most Americans would agree that we don't need to include the criminal element into this mix, or feel sorry for someone who has committed multiple crimes while living here. The President is correct here. There is a deal to be made that should make "most" everyone happy.

Well Denny...

Then we both agree.

The DACA standards that allow up to three misdemeanors on a person's record is stupid and moronic.

which is exactly how we get so many illegal beaner repeat drunk drivers.

i've read countless stories about a drunk illegal beaner who crashed and killed an innocent person while they've had multiple prior DUI convictions under their belt.

but the democrats need the votes so the loss of innocent life is acceptable collateral damage to them.
