CDC comes out with updated fatality rates

CDC fatality rates for the coronavirus:
  • 0-49 years old: 0.05%
  • 50-64 years old: 0.2%
  • 65+ years old: 1.3%
  • Overall ages: 0.4%
So for those keeping score, the Covid-19 "plague" is actually less dangerous by half than the seasonable flu for anyone under the age of 50 years old. It holds about the same amount of danger for those between 50-64, and only seems to be more dangerous in people over the age of 65. As we also are well aware of, most of the people dying from this disease also have a variety of pre-existing conditions that make the fatalities more common.

Healthy young Americans have almost no chance to pass from Covid-19.

Moreover, this is the estimated fatality rates based on symptomatic cases. At this time, the CDC believes that over a third of all actual cases are asymptomatic, so you can basically take all of those aforementioned numbers and multiply them by .65 to get a more accurate count.

By that token, the overall fatality rate is likely around 0.25% or just slightly higher than the seasonal flu. I might also add that original WHO estimates were over 3% and Dr Fauci originally projected the fatality percent at around 2%. The more raw data we get in, the more these estimates drop. I wouldn't be surprised to see these numbers drop even lower as we start to do more anti-body testing on people who never got tested previously.

I hate to say that Dr Fauci was wrong and a little bit of an alarmist, but he was wrong and a little bit of an alarmist. I have to believe that if we had known then, what we know now, that we may have done things quite a bit differently. I would be shocked if Dr Fauci himself wouldn't admit that (at least under bright lights and truth serum).

Fairfax County Health Department responded to my request for nursing home/longterm care facility deaths from COVID-19. As of May 22, there have been 249 coronavirus deaths in these facilities. That's ***75 percent*** of all Fairfax County deaths from coronavirus as of today (330)

Interesting. I didn't know that. First, I'm not "rich." Second, over the years, some of my parishioners were very wealthy; many were middle class; some were rather poor.

While Trump is at his golf course, you guys all be sure to find some really crowded church to go to.

CNN reports that
Vaccine Execs Dumped Stock After Hyping Results

“Moderna’s stock price skyrocketed as much as 30% on Monday after the biotech company announced promising early results for its coronavirus vaccine. As ordinary investors piled in, two insiders were quietly heading for the exits.

“Moderna’s chief financial officer and chief medical officer executed options and sold nearly $30 million of shares combined on Monday and Tuesday.”

______

Very interesting.

Wonder how that stacks up against teachings of Jesus...

*** NOTICE OF CONSTANT SPAMMING and USE OF TAEGAN GODDARD's POLITICAL_LIRE ***

Regular readers of this blog know the constant spamming, lying and obsession for that left-wing Taegan Goddard blog by a certain poster. That poster james, also called the "pastor" (which he claims to be even if you can't tell by his actions) is the POS responsible and considers his mindless rude behavior his hobby. Sometimes he credits Taegan Goddard, sometimes he doesn't.

He has descended so far into TDS and desperation he fills every discussion thread with what people have described as an avalanche of spam. If this is being posted today is no different. He even gets his edited news from that site and spams that if he thinks it will hurt Trump. Every day he repeats what that site posts, regardless of topic. It gets so bad he feels the need to even repeat his spam multiple times in a single thread as well as posting in every active thread the very same spam.

He has exhibited the same mental deterioration as Joe Biden and his postings should be given the same consideration. Both their heads will probably explode when it becomes obvious that Trump will win a second term. Biden will not even notice his head did.

I'm JAMES'S FUCKING DADDY and I APPROVE OF THIS MESSAGE

I guess everyone here knows which online church the "pastor" worships at.

ROFLMFAO !!!

IT'S EASY TO PICK OUT THE BRAINERS AND NO BRAINERS IN THE FOLLOWING:

Trump orders governors to open churches ‘right now.’ Newsom says guidelines coming Monday

mercurynews.com
President Trump on Friday declared that places of worship ordered closed because of the coronavirus should open immediately, but his threat to override state rules was met with a shrug from Gov. Gavin Newsom, and even many religious leaders seemed in no rush to open their doors.

Offering no timeline, Newsom said in a press conference after Trump’s remarks that the state will release guidelines by Monday to resume in-person religious services. The California governor is facing pressure closer to home: Hundreds of pastors, many of whom lead evangelical or “mega-churches,” have threatened to hold services in violation of state orders on May 31, the Christian holiday of Pentecost.

But many other religious leaders, including representatives of the Episcopalian and Catholic denominations and the Jewish and Muslim faiths, expressed support of Newsom’s cautious approach Friday, insisting on protecting their congregations from a deadly disease.

Trump took a decidedly different stance in his morning remarks, saying he would “override the governors” across the country who resist reopening, although his legal authority to do that is unclear. “America, we need more prayer, not less.”

Trump said he is classifying places of worship as “essential services” that can operate even when other establishments are closed, beginning as soon as this weekend.

“Some governors have deemed liquor stores and abortion clinics as essential but have left out churches and other houses of worship,” Trump said during a brief appearance in the White House press room as the administration released new pandemic guidance for places of worship. “It’s not right.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new guidance for houses of worship later Friday afternoon. Weeks ago, the CDC had prepared a draft of the reopening guidelines that included measures such as maintaining distance between parishioners, limiting the size of gatherings, and holding services outdoors or in large, well-ventilated areas. But that guidance had been delayed for more than a month BY THE ADMINISTRATION [TRUMP] until Trump — who has enjoyed strong political support from evangelical churches — abruptly reversed course and ordered the agency Thursday to get the guidelines out.

For his part, Newsom sought to stick to an approach to reopening he has insisted is based on science and data. He said he has been talking with faith leaders statewide over the past week ranging from megachurches to neighborhood houses of worship.

“It’s so important that folks understand we deeply understand, admire, the faith devotion,” Newsom said, adding later, “We look forward to churches reopening in a safe and responsible manner.” SOUNDS LIKE FAUCI.

The clash transpired as California saw its number of COVID-19 cases surpass the 90,000 mark, and its death count top 3,600. Newsom said Friday that 88 deaths were recorded the previous day. More hopeful trends continued as well, with virus-related hospitalizations decreasing 7.1% and ICU stays down 6.5% during that same time frame.

Large gatherings including church services are not included in California’s guidance for the first two phases of reopening, an approach that has drawn criticism for weeks from some faith leaders and their congregants.

But in California and across the country, reactions Friday to an accelerated re-opening of religious services were mixed.

“The discrimination that has been occurring against churches and houses of worship has been shocking,” Kelly Shackelford, president of the conservative First Liberty Institute, said in a statement. “Americans are going to malls and restaurants. They need to be able to go to their houses of worship.”

At Calvary Chapel San Jose, administrative Pastor Carson Atherley was succinct in his reaction. “I’ll refer you to the First Amendment of the Constitution, and the statement our president made this morning,” Atherley said. “That’s all we’re prepared to say at this time.”

The Episcopal Diocese of California, which serves 24,000 people over about 75 congregations spread across the Bay Area, says it remains content to follow the lead of local leaders and health officials.

“People have really missed the in-person worship,” said spokesperson Stephanie Martin Taylor. “There’s been a great deal of sadness and a sense of loss. However, some hopeful things have come out of it.”

Martin Taylor said the diocese’s worshipers have adapted to virtual services and that live-streaming will likely continue in some form even after people are allowed back in churches again.

At Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills, Rabbi Jonathan Prosnit said his synagogue has migrated entirely to Zoom, from weekly worship to bar and bat mitzvah celebrations.

"Constitutionally speaking, President Trump is right to say he will override governors in declaring houses of worship essential.

Governors don’t have the power to declare them non-essential.

Every gov is ultimately under the US Constitution as our supreme law. Church Is Essential"

For his part, Newsom sought to stick to an approach to reopening he has insisted is based on science and data.

If the science and data say restaurants can open at 50% capacity then there no reason to keep churches closed.
