Walz allows and almost encourages the destruction of his own state... and then?

Minnesota Gov. Walz asks Trump for disaster declaration after George Floyd riots trigger over $500M in damages
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has asked President Trump for a federal disaster declaration in his state due to “extensive fire damage” and other destruction in the unrest that followed George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis police custody on Memorial Day.

“We need to come together to ensure Minnesotans who were victims of this destruction have access to critical infrastructure they need so they can go to the grocery store, pick up their medication, and live their lives,” Walz said in a statement Thursday. “Together, we will rebuild.”

My first question would be this: Have all of the looters from this picture been arrested and charged with these crimes that they are obviously committing on camera? Herein lies the problem with the inevitable begging for help from the Federal Government. This is quite literally the Governor's own fault. He simply refused to act and now Walz want someone else to cover the $500 million in damage that for all practical purposes the Governor himself encouraged. Even today, the Governor is loath to admit that the damage was caused by illegal and unjust actions. He acts as if this was some sort of natural disaster (like a massive storm or an outbreak of tornadoes).

The sad part is that much of the damages is to private property that will likely never be rebuilt. Insurance won't cover enough to rebuild old buildings with new buildings, and there is no guarantee that whoever builds back up these areas will even allow the same small businesses to lease or reopen there. The cost to these communities is either going to be empty areas where businesses used to be, or gentrification of these areas by new developers.

A Henry Ford Health System study shows the controversial anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine helps lower the death rate of COVID-19 patients, the Detroit-based health system said Thursday.

Officials with the Michigan health system said the study found the drug “significantly” decreased the death rate of patients involved in the analysis.

The study analyzed 2,541 patients hospitalized among the system’s six hospitals between March 10 and May 2 and found 13% of those treated with hydroxychloroquine died while 26% of those who did not receive the drug died.

Among all patients in the study, there was an overall in-hospital mortality rate of 18%, and many who died had underlying conditions that put them at greater risk, according to Henry Ford Health System. Globally, the mortality rate for hospitalized patients is between 10% and 30%, and it's 58% among those in the intensive care unit or on a ventilator.
