White fear is on the November ballot With lies about ‘violent mobs’ and anarchy.
Trump keeps inching this nation toward a civil war.
“What home is safe so long as shiftless negroes are allowed to make the city their rendezvous? What lady is safe on the streets after the twilight hour?”
As quoted in the 2019 Henry Louis Gates Jr. book, “Stony the Road: Reconstruction, White Supremacy, and the Rise of Jim Crow,” that’s from a 1909 Charlotte News article, “White Women in Danger,” which warned of a “Negro problem.” Its ugly perception was that integration inherently endangered white people, and America.
Three big picture takeaways from the first night of the Republican National Convention
With few changes, it could have been plucked from nearly every Republican National Convention 2020 speech. White fears and anxieties will be on the November ballot — President Trump is staking his reelection on it.
If anything was made clear during the RNC’s four days of doom porn, it’s that the party does indeed have a platform — it’s convincing white voters that without Trump at the helm, “violent mobs” will “overrun” their suburban neighborhoods, burn and loot their homes and businesses, and rape and kill their loved ones.
Naturally, “violent mobs” mean Black people and their allies fighting to end white supremacy and systemic racism.
Trump distorts record; BLM falsely accused
“Your vote will decide whether we protect law-abiding Americans, or whether we give free reign to violent anarchists, agitators, and criminals who threaten our citizens,” Trump said Thursday night during his rambling, mendacious acceptance speech. “This election will decide whether we will defend the American way of life, or whether we will allow a radical movement to completely dismantle and destroy it.”
White supremacy is so foundational that protests against pervasive racial injustice are branded as plots to overthrow America. That the needle might move ever so slightly toward progress and equity is more than Trump and his supporters can stand.

the democrats have come right out and told us very succinctly how they plan on stealing this election, and they're also basically saying there's nothing we can do about it. -
A top Democratic data and analytics firm told "Axios on HBO" it's highly likely that President Trump will appear to have won — potentially in a landslide — on election night, even if he ultimately loses when all the votes are counted.
Why this matters: Way more Democrats will vote by mail than Republicans, due to fears of the coronavirus, and it will take days if not weeks to tally these. This means Trump, thanks to Republicans doing almost all of their voting in person, could hold big electoral college and popular vote leads on election night.
Imagine America, with its polarization and misinformation, if the vote tally swings wildly toward Joe Biden and Trump loses days later as the mail ballots are counted.
That is what this group, Hawkfish, which is funded by Michael Bloomberg and also does work for the Democratic National Committee and pro-Biden Super PACs, is warning is a very real, if not foreordained, outcome.
One of the most famous clues in a Sherlock Holmes mystery is what's commonly referred to as "the dog that didn't bark," or, as Holmes actually said, "the dog did nothing in the night-time." Rasmussen Reports, which puts out a Daily Presidential Tracking Poll like clockwork, noticed that its competitors ceased barking (or, if you prefer, polling) after the two parties held their conventions. According to Rasmussen, which would know, this silence was unprecedented.
Rasmussen published a series of tweets on Monday openly snarking at its competitors for their silence. Moreover, whoever is writing Rasmussen's tweets was not shy about identifying a reason for the other polling outfits' unusual reticence: the narrative up until the conventions was that Biden was unstoppable; it's now quite possible that he's been stopped.
[...]
Rasmussen has highlighted the fact that the left has weaponized polling. It frames questions and weights its polls to energize Democrats and demoralize Republicans. People like a winner, and the left-leaning polling companies know that if a candidate appears to be winning, he will automatically attract more voters.
Like the dog that didn't bark in the night, the pollsters who are remaining quiet are giving us a clue: their numbers are probably showing that, no matter how they ask their questions or weight their polls, Trump is surging and Biden submerging.
Moreover, if the momentum now shifts to Trump, that creates an even worse situation than would have happened in past elections. Most serious political watchers suspect that, if asked, Trump-supporters are keeping quiet. They are afraid of insults and threats to their jobs, to their peaceful lives, and to their and their families' safety. However, if voters sense that the tide is turning, more will speak up.

For the second time in as many days, President Trump claimed without evidence that a plane filled with left-wing agitators either was or had been traveling somewhere within the U.S.
“A person was on a plane, said that there were about six people like that person, more or less, and what happened is the entire plane filled up with the looters, the rioters, the anarchists, people that were obviously looking for trouble and the person felt very uncomfortable on the plane,” Trump said Tuesday at Joint Base Andrews before departing to visit Kenosha, Wis.
Trump’s recent talk of planes filled with “the looters, the rioters” is confusing even some of the president’s allies and those who ignore his sometimes bizarre tangents. Trump has spent the last several weeks attempting to link his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, to the unrest in a number of American cities this month, but he now appears to have taken that line of argument in a more conspiratorial direction.
The president has yet to reveal the identity of the person who allegedly saw the left-wing activists on the plane. “I will see whether or not I can get that person to speak to you, but this was a firsthand account of a plane going from Washington to wherever, and I’ll see if I can get that information for you, maybe they’ll speak to you, maybe they won’t,” he said Tuesday.
In 2016, Donald Trump ran against what he called the “corrupt” Republican elites who had failed to stand up for the working man and shipped jobs overseas while inviting in Mexican rapists. In reality, the true dereliction by Republican elites has come after Trump’s triumph, with their cringing accommodation of his escalating offenses. Only Republicans were in a position to affect Trump’s conduct. Any criticism by Democrats would be dismissed as partisan sniping. Only members of his own party could have upheld crucial standards of democratic governance, and they failed.
There have been one or two exceptions to this rule of Republican servility. When Republicans joined Democrats to criticize the president’s policy of separating immigrant children from their parents at the border, Trump reversed the policy. And when the president floated the idea of postponing the election, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy both jumped to contradict him. McConnell said, “Never in the history of this country, through wars, depressions and the Civil War, have we ever not had a federally scheduled election on time. We will find a way to do that again this November third.” Trump never mentioned it again.
But those examples are not comforting. Quite the opposite. They reveal how sensitive Trump actually was to pressure. They show how very easy it would have been for Republicans to maintain a minimum of civic hygiene. Instead, they ignored the political equivalent of turnstile jumping, public urination, and breaking windows. They permitted an atmosphere of disorder and lawlessness. And now Trump is openly inciting violence on the streets, fomenting distrust of the election results, and welcoming insane conspiracists into honored positions in American public life. When one broken window goes unrepaired, the rest are soon broken as well.
President Trump breaks so many of the normal rules of politics that it can sometimes be hard to know when his tweets and comments are truly newsworthy. Even by his standards, though, the past several days have stood out. Consider:
Trump said on Monday that a plane “almost completely loaded with thugs” wearing “dark uniforms” had been headed to the Republican National Convention to do “big damage.” The claim is similar to a baseless conspiracy theory that spread online over the summer, well before the convention. He has declined to condemn the killings of two protesters in Kenosha, Wis. He instead defended the 17-year-old charged in the shootings — a Trump supporter named Kyle Rittenhouse — saying he was acting in self-defense. Trump also promoted a Twitter post that called Rittenhouse “a good example of why I decided to vote for Trump.” He defended violence committed by his supporters in Portland, Ore., who fired paintballs and pepper spray at Black Lives Matter protesters. He compared the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha to missing “a three-foot putt” in a golf tournament. He claimed that “people that you’ve never heard of” and “people that are in the dark shadows” are controlling Joe Biden. He claimed Democrats were trying to “destroy” suburbs with “low-income housing, and with that comes a lot of other problems, including crime.” He added that Cory Booker — one of the highest-profile Black Democrats — would be “in charge of it.” He predicted that the stock market would crash if Biden won. He said that Biden, at the Democratic National Convention, “didn’t even discuss law enforcement, the police. Those words weren’t mentioned.” In fact, Biden held a discussion at the convention on policing, with a police chief. Trump claimed that he “took control of” the situation in Kenosha by sending in the National Guard. In fact, Wisconsin’s governor, not the president, sent the National Guard. He retweeted messages asserting that the pandemic’s death toll was overstated. Evidence indicates the opposite is true. He said that protests against police brutality were actually a secret “coup attempt” by anarchists “trying to take down the President.
The Social Security check is now (or soon will be) referred to as a "Federal Benefit Payment?" I'll be part of the one percent to forward this. I am forwarding it because it touches a nerve in me, and I hope it will in you. Please keep passing it on until everyone in our country has read it.
The government is now referring to our Social Security checks as a "Federal Benefit Payment." This isn't a benefit. It is our money paid out of our earned income! Not only did we all contribute to Social Security but our employers did too. It totaled 15% of our income before taxes.
If you averaged $30K per year over your working life, that's close to $180,000 invested in Social Security.
If you calculate the future value of your monthly investment in social security ($375/month, including both you and your employers contributions) at a meager 1% interest rate compounded monthly, after 40 years of working you'd have more than $1.3+ million dollars saved!
This is your personal investment. Upon retirement, if you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $39,318 per year, or $3,277 per month.
That's almost three times more than today's average Social Security benefit of $1,230 per month, according to the Social Security Administration. (Google it – it’s a fact).
And your retirement fund would last more than 33 years (until you're 98 if you retire at age 65)! I can only imagine how much better most average-income people could live in retirement if our government had just invested our money in low-risk interest-earning accounts.
Instead, the folks in Washington pulled off a bigger "Ponzi scheme" than Bernie Madoff ever did. They took our money and used it elsewhere. They forgot (oh yes, they knew) that it was OUR money they were taking. They didn't have a referendum to ask us if we wanted to lend the money to them. And they didn't pay interest on the debt they assumed. And recently they've told us that the money won't support us for very much longer.
But is it our fault they misused our investments? And now, to add insult to injury, they're calling it a "benefit", as if we never worked to earn every penny of it.
Just because they borrowed the money doesn't mean that our investments were a charity!
Let's take a stand. We have earned our right to Social Security and Medicare. Demand that our legislators bring some sense into our government.
Find a way to keep Social Security and Medicare going for the sake of that 92% of our population who need it.
Then call it what it is: Our Earned Retirement Income.
Must be a Presidential election, the Socialist Democrats are attempting to scare poor seniors. Alky is terrorized he lives on the larger of the State and Fed.

Thomson Reuters CHRIS KAHN Sep 2nd 2020 7:46AM NEW YORK, Sept 2 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump's attempt to make civil unrest a central theme of his re-election campaign has yet to boost his political standing, as most Americans do not see crime as a major problem confronting the nation and a majority remain sympathetic to anti-racism protests, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Wednesday.
The Aug. 31-Sept. 1 national opinion poll showed that 40% of registered voters support Trump, a Republican, compared with 47% who said they will vote for his Democratic opponent Joe Biden. Biden's lead is largely unchanged over the past three weeks during which both parties held conventions to nominate their candidates Trump and Biden for the presidency.
Trailing Biden in most national opinion polls since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus this year, Trump has sought to change the subject from a pandemic that has killed more than 180,000 Americans, blaming Black Lives Matters protesters for violence in the cities and accusing Biden of being weak on crime.
Slideshow preview image 50 PHOTOS Protests across the U.S. over Jacob Blake shooting in Wisconsin SEE GALLERY
But the poll showed the majority -- 78% -- remain “very” or “somewhat” concerned about the coronavirus. Nearly 60% said Trump is at least partly responsible for the protracted school and business closures due to the virus, as well as for the high number of coronavirus cases in the United States. More than 6 million Americans have been infected with the virus, more people than in any other country.
By contrast, most Americans do not see crime as a major priority and do not think it is increasing in their communities, the poll showed.
Only about 8% of American adults listed crime as a top priority for the country, compared with 30% who said it was the economy or jobs, and 16% who said it was the healthcare system.
When one broken window goes unrepaired, the rest are soon broken as well.
an interesting take considering how vehemently opposed liberals are to broken windows policing.
equally interesting is how after a hundred days of the left calling the protests "mostly peaceful" (LOL), it's now suddenly Trump who is suddenly inciting all this newly acknowledged violence.
rational thinking people don't buy this bullshit, alky. it follows no logic.
I thought people collected soup cans for eating. Trump says it's to throw at the police.

Ezra Klein: “On August 27, 2019, President Trump held a 41.3% approval rating and a 51.2% disapproval rating… During the 365 days that followed, Trump became the third president impeached by the House of Representatives; America assassinated Iranian general Qassem Soleimani; more than 200,000 Americans died from the disease caused by the novel coronavirus; the unemployment rate rose from 3.7% to 10.2%; the US banned incoming travel from Europe, China, and Brazil; an estimated 12 million people lost health insurance coverage; Trump pardoned Roger Stone, who was facing jail time for dirty tricks on the president’s behalf; and George Floyd’s murder sparked a nationwide movement protesting for racial justice — to which Trump responded by tear-gassing demonstrators in Lafayette Park so he could take a photograph holding a Bible.
“That is, of course, a bitterly incomplete list of a grimly consequential year in American history. But you’d never know it simply by following Trump’s poll numbers. On August 27, 2020 — one year later, and the day Trump used the White House as a backdrop for his convention speech — FiveThirtyEight had Trump at 42.2% approval and 54.3% disapproval. Everything had happened, and politically, nothing had mattered. Or, at the least, not much had changed.”

Biden Faults Trump Over Reopening Schools September 2, 2020 at 7:20 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
Joe Biden, pressing his argument that President Trump is failing the country with his handling of the coronavirus, plans on Wednesday to make the case that Mr. Trump is hurting the nation’s parents, teachers and schoolchildren with his push for schools to reopen, the New York Times reports.

Mr. Biden holds a wide lead with moderates 55% to 33%, who are a plurality of the electorate; he benefits from a 10-point lead among independents who do not lean toward any political party, 44% to 34%.” __________ A new USA Today/Suffolk poll shows Biden leading 50% to 43%. __________ A new Reuters/Ipsos poll finds Biden ahead 47% to 40%.

Trump Still Stuck in the Low 40s
Aaron Blake: “The events of last week seemed as though they might be playing into President Trump’s hands. Trump and his allies have long sought to use unrest at racial-justice demonstrations to argue for his reelection, and on the eve of the Republican National Convention, another police shooting of a black man in Kenosha, Wis., reignited those scenes. For four nights afterward, the GOP pushed the issue hard, with some wagering that it would change the race.
“It didn’t really do much, if anything, according to the earliest high-quality polls we have… New national polls released Wednesday morning from highly respected pollsters Ann Selzer and Suffolk University show the race remaining largely as it has been in recent weeks.” _________
First Read: “More important than the size of Biden’s leads are Trump’s 41 percent and 43 percent ballot numbers in both polls. They show an incumbent with a low ceiling after his convention and before the debates begin later this month.”
Margaret Hoover, the conservative political commentator and great-granddaughter of former Republican President Herbert Hoover, said she will not vote for President Trump in November and will “quite likely” cast her ballot for Joe Biden instead.
“Perfect is not on the menu. Nobody is going to be your ideal candidate. You can't dream somebody up out of nothing that’s going to be the perfect candidate, so you do have to pick between a series of bad choices.”
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) called on MSNBC anchor Joy Reid to apologize Tuesday over remarks the night before that compared the actions of President Trump and his allies to "the way Muslims act" when "radicalizing" supporters.
"Honestly, this kinda of casual Islamophobia is hurtful and dangerous," Omar, one of the first Muslim women elected to Congress, tweeted Tuesday. "We deserve better and an apology for the painful moment for so many Muslims around our country should be forthcoming."
Omar's call came after other groups had also urged Reid to apologize over the remarks on Monday's "The ReidOut."
"Leaders, let's say in the Muslim world, talk a lot of violent talk and encourage their supporters to commit violence. ... We in the U.S. media describe that as radicalizing people," Reid said during the segment. "That's the way we talk about how Muslims act."
"When you see what Donald Trump is doing, is that any different from what we describe as radicalizing people?" she asked.
A spokesperson for MSNBC did not immediately return a request for comment from The Hill on Omar's call for an apology.

President Trump over the weekend retweeted a conspiracy theory falsely claiming that only about 9,000 people had "actually" died from coronavirus, instead of about 150,000.
Twitter later removed the tweet, written by a user named "Mel Q," who is also a believer of the QAnon conspiracy theory, saying it violated its rules.
The now-deleted tweet pointed to a post on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website saying that "for 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned."
But contrary to the claim in the tweet, that does not mean that the other 94 percent did not die from the coronavirus. Many of the remaining deaths were listed as also having conditions that are directly caused by the coronavirus, such as "respiratory failure." Others had underlying conditions that are not necessarily deadly on their own, but that make coronavirus worse, such as obesity and diabetes.
"When you see that 'only 6%' of people had COVID-19 as the sole reason listed on their death forms, what it means is that there were only a small fraction of people who died of the disease who didn't have any other underlying or immediate causes noted by the medical certifiers," wrote Australian epidemiologist Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz. "This is completely unsurprising, as it's pretty rare that someone wouldn't have at least one issue caused by coronavirus prior to their death, and all it means is that in 94% of cases people who had COVID-19 also developed other issues, or had other problems at the same time."
Trump's retweet of the post indicates a desire to downplay the heavy death toll from the virus, a key issue as the election nears, and his willingness to retweet posts from fringe accounts like those of QAnon supporters.
Another tweet, from Trump campaign senior legal adviser Jenna Ellis, has not been removed by Twitter, and links to an article in the fringe site Gateway Pundit about the 6 percent statistic. That tweet was also retweeted by Trump.
The CDC chart in question lists a total of 161,392 deaths from coronavirus, as of Aug. 22. Other sources put the death toll even higher. Johns Hopkins University lists over 183,000 deaths from coronavirus in the United States.

White fear is on the November ballot
With lies about ‘violent mobs’ and anarchy.

Attorney General William P. Barr Announces Updates on Operation Legend at Press Conference in Kansas City, Missouri
At a press conference in Kansas City, Missouri, today, Attorney General William P. Barr announced updates on Operation Legend.
Since the operation’s launch, there have been more than 1,000 arrests, including defendants who have been charged in state and local courts. Of those arrests, approximately 217 defendants have been charged with federal crimes. These numbers exclude Indianapolis, whose operation was just announced last Friday. In addition, nearly 400 firearms mostly peaceful have been seized by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The Attorney General launched the operation on July 8, 2020, as a sustained, systematic and coordinated law enforcement initiative in which federal law enforcement agencies work in conjunction with state and local law enforcement officials to fight violent crime. The initiative is named in honor of four-year-old LeGend Taliferro, who was shot and killed while he slept early in the morning of June 29 in Kansas City.
Launched first in Kansas City, MO., on July 8, 2020, the operation was expanded to Chicago and Albuquerque on July 22, 2020, to Cleveland, Detroit, and Milwaukee on July 29, 2020, to St. Louis and Memphis on Aug. 6, 2020, and to Indianapolis on Aug. 14, 2020. A breakdown of the federal charges in each district, with the exception of Indianapolis, is below.

Does anyone, even Trump supporters really believe him anymore?
the democrats have come right out and told us very succinctly how they plan on stealing this election, and they're also basically saying there's nothing we can do about it. -
A top Democratic data and analytics firm told "Axios on HBO" it's highly likely that President Trump will appear to have won — potentially in a landslide — on election night, even if he ultimately loses when all the votes are counted.
That is what this group, Hawkfish, which is funded by Michael Bloomberg and also does work for the Democratic National Committee and pro-Biden Super PACs, is warning is a very real, if not foreordained, outcome.

you want a hot civil war in this country? this is how you get a hot civil war.

The broken glass President.

He's unhinged!
Trump also promoted a Twitter post that called Rittenhouse “a good example of why I decided to vote for Trump.”
He defended violence committed by his supporters in Portland, Ore., who fired paintballs and pepper spray at Black Lives Matter protesters.
He compared the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha to missing “a three-foot putt” in a golf tournament.
He claimed that “people that you’ve never heard of” and “people that are in the dark shadows” are controlling Joe Biden.
He claimed Democrats were trying to “destroy” suburbs with “low-income housing, and with that comes a lot of other problems, including crime.” He added that Cory Booker — one of the highest-profile Black Democrats — would be “in charge of it.”
He predicted that the stock market would crash if Biden won.
99% of people won't forward this. Will you?
I thought people collected soup cans for eating. Trump says it's to throw at the police.

NEW YORK, Sept 2 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump's attempt to make civil unrest a central theme of his re-election campaign has yet to boost his political standing, as most Americans do not see crime as a major problem confronting the nation and a majority remain sympathetic to anti-racism protests, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Wednesday.
The Aug.

Trump Appears to Have Settled on a Message

“After struggling for much of the year to settle on a clear and concise reelection message, President Donald Trump appears to have found his 2020 rallying cry,” the AP reports.
“Four years ago, it was ‘Build the Wall,’a simple yet coded mantra to white America that nonwhite outsiders threatened their way of life. This week, Trump has re-centered his campaign on another three-word phrase that carries a similar racial dynamic: ‘Law and Order.'”

“It didn’t really do much, if anything, according to the earliest high-quality polls we have… New national polls released Wednesday morning from highly respected pollsters Ann Selzer and Suffolk University show the race remaining largely as it has been in recent weeks.”

Ilhan Omar calls on MSNBC's Joy Reid to apologize over comments labeled Islamophobic
