“With Senate Republicans going for broke to fill the Supreme Court seat vacated after Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death — after Brett Kavanaugh’s contentious confirmation, after impeachment and after the health care wars — today’s Senate is no different than the House.

“Brute political force has replaced collegiality. Winning at all costs is more important than common purpose. And it’s election season all the time over at the U.S. Senate.

“Almost every Democratic operative I’ve spoken with in the past few weeks remains petrified that Biden is going to bungle the debates in a way that costs him the election—perhaps by looking old or confused, confirming the worst paranoia and conspiracy theories about him being unfit for the job. They see the debates as Biden’s best chance to blow an election that, based on the current polls, seems like his to lose…”

“Biden’s closest aides aren’t particularly nervous. They viewed the primary debates as necessary to attend but essentially irrelevant to the race, and they feel the same way now. If elections were won by following debate-club rules, Clinton would be the president and Elizabeth Warren would be the 2020 Democratic nominee. And since Biden wrapped up the nomination, as they have pointed out repeatedly, this has been a remarkably stable race. GOP Will Ask Supreme Court to Limit Mail Voting

The USSC has been remarkably consistent with this... and any Justice with any regard for precedent will be on board with one very simple concept.

The Constitution of the United States demands that states must follow their own election laws as they exist when the election is held.

So if the LAW as it is written provides a particular date that has to be met, then the USSC will rule in favor of that Law.

So the only question that needs to be asked... did the Judges ruling in this case reinforce what is already written in law, or did the Judge provide a judicial ruling that seeks to change it?

If it's the former...

Then Democrats have nothing to fear.

If it's the latter...

Then they should be ready burn someone's business down and shoot another 8 year old girl in the face. Because that is just what they do!

Pennsylvania Could Come Down to ‘Naked Ballots’
Philadelphia Inquirer:
“The state Supreme Court in Pennsylvania, a critical battleground state that’s seen as increasingly likely to determine who wins the White House, last week ordered officials to throw out ‘naked ballots’ — mail ballots that arrive without inner ‘secrecy envelopes.’ Pennsylvania uses a two-envelope mail ballot system: A completed ballot goes into a ‘secrecy envelope’ that has no identifying information, and then into a larger mailing envelope that the voter signs.

“It’s unclear how many naked ballots there will be, because this is the first year any Pennsylvania voter can vote by mail, and most counties counted them in the June primary without tracking how many there were.”

Axios:
“The decision to reject ‘naked ballots’ didn’t apply during the primary earlier this year, which was the first use of expanded mail-in voting, so it’s unclear how widespread the mistake may be. However, 6.4% of ballots were ‘naked’ during last November’s municipal election in Philadelphia, which was conducted under the more restrictive absentee system.”

GOP will ask Supreme Court to limit mail voting in Pennsylvania in first post-RBG test

Republicans plan to ask the Supreme Court to review a major Pennsylvania state court ruling that extended the due date for mail ballots in the key battleground state, teeing up the first test for the Supreme Court since the death of its liberal leader Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The GOP legal strategy, which was revealed in a pair of court documents filed overnight and Tuesday morning, has not been previously reported.

The development comes after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court dealt Republicans a major blow last week in a bitterly partisan election lawsuit that could help determine whether President Trump or Democratic nominee Joe Biden takes the Keystone State, which Trump won in 2016 by just over 44,000 votes.

The expected petition to the Supreme Court comes just days after Ginsburg’s death from cancer last Friday injected further uncertainty into a chaotic 2020 presidential contest that is on track to be the most intensely litigated election cycle in U.S. history.

“This could be a big first test for the post-RBG Supreme Court and where it will stand on election issues,” said Rick Hasen, an election law expert and law professor at the University of California Irvine. “There’s little reason to believe that the conservative-liberal divide will disappear with Justice Ginsburg’s death.”

The decision by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court last week to relax the state’s mail voting deadline was seen as a win for Democrats, since Biden voters are more likely than Trump supporters to vote by mail in November. Under the ruling, Pennsylvania must accept ballots postmarked by Election Day, as long as they arrive within three days.

The Republican Party of Pennsylvania on Monday night asked the state’s top court to temporarily halt its ruling from taking effect. The GOP made its request in order to buy time to appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court, or alternatively, to ask the eight justices to consider pausing the state court ruling themselves.

Pennsylvania Republicans argue the state court’s ruling opens the door to illegal votes.

“The court’s judgment ... creates a serious likelihood that Pennsylvania’s imminent general election will be tainted by votes that were illegally cast or mailed after Election Day,” the GOP wrote in its Monday night court filing.

“The Republican Party of Pennsylvania respectfully asks the court for a partial stay of its judgment, pending disposition of (our) forthcoming stay application and petition for writ of certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court.”

Top leaders from Pennsylvania’s GOP-held legislature also vowed to petition the Supreme Court.

Ginsburg’s death leaves the court with a 5-3 conservative majority.

Trump is expected to announce a nominee to fill Ginsburg’s vacancy by the end of the week and Senate Republicans hope to quickly confirm a new justice.

First, bullshit again, nobody is advocating violence against the results of the election, except for the President who has floated the insurrection act if he loses.

A federal judge in Wisconsin on Monday extended the state's deadline for counting absentee ballots until up to six days after the Nov. 3 election if they are postmarked by Election Day, AP reports.

Why it matters: The ruling, unless overturned, "means that the outcome of the presidential race in Wisconsin likely will not be known for days after polls close," according to AP.

Without the decision, ballots would have had to be returned by 8 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.
The state of play: The lawsuit was part of a series of challenges from the Democratic National Committee, the Wisconsin Democratic Party and other groups to make absentee voting easier in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Republicans argued that the current rules should stay in place because people have plenty of time to obtain and return ballots.
Both sides expect a close election in the battleground state, which President Trump won by fewer than 23,000 votes in 2016.
Worth noting: District Judge William Conley, an Obama appointee, also extended the Oct. 14 deadline for mail-in voting and electronic voter registration until Oct. 21.

The big picture: Judges in four presidential swing states — Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and now Wisconsin — have ruled that ballots can be counted if they are postmarked by Nov. 2 (or Nov. 3 in Michigan), Business Insider's Grace Panetta notes.

President Trump threatened Monday to take military action in American cities if the violent demonstrations that have been taking place in recent days aren't stamped out.

"If a city or state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them," Trump said in a short statement in the Rose Garden at the White House.

To do that, the president would need to invoke what's known as the Insurrection Act of 1807. The original text of the act, which has been amended several times since it was first passed, reads as follows:

An Act authorizing the employment of the land and naval forces of the United States, in cases of insurrections

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in all cases of insurrection, or obstruction to the laws, either of the United States, or of any individual state or territory, where it is lawful for the President of the United States to call forth the militia for the purpose of suppressing such insurrection, or of causing the laws to be duly executed, it shall be lawful for him to employ, for the same purposes, such part of the land or naval force of the United States, as shall be judged necessary, having first observed all the pre-requisites of the law in that respect.

APPROVED, March 3, 1807.

I have little doubt that he would use the act when the results are not available on the night of the election because they were delayed by the COVID-19 infection, were invalid they are insurrections and he would try to get the military to go to the various states and cities to impose martial law.

TRUMP SAYS:
North Korea denuclearization efforts should continue

President Donald J. Trump said in a statement to the International Atomic Energy Association that the international community should continue to pursue final, fully verified denuclearization of North Korea.

SEOUL, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump said the international community should continue with efforts toward full North Korean denuclearization amid a stalemate in negotiations with Pyongyang that has lasted for more than a year.

Trump's remarks were part of a written message delivered to the 2020 International Atomic Energy Agency general conference, which commenced in Vienna on Monday.

"We must ensure that Iran adheres to the commitments it made...with the IAEA to prevent it from ever obtaining a nuclear weapon, and continue to work toward the final, fully verified denuclearization of North Korea," his message read.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette also delivered remarks at the conference and said Washington was ready to resume negotiations with Pyongyang.

AND WHAT DID PYONGYANG SAY?

"The United States remains ready to make progress toward the final, fully verified denuclearization of North Korea, and we urge North Korea to join us in negotiations toward this objective -- thereby ensuring a brighter future for the North Korean people," he said.

AND WHAT DID KIM SAY?

Relations between the United States and North Korea have stalled since a February 2019 summit between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Hanoi, Vietnam, failed to produce an agreement on denuclearization.

The two leaders met again briefly in June of last year in the Demilitarized Zone that divides the Korean Peninsula, an event at which Trump made headlines when he briefly crossed the demarcation line into North Korean territory.

However, the gesture FAILED to spark a new round of discussions and North Korea has since expressed little interest in resuming working-level talks.

AND WHAT DOES NORTH KOREA SAY?

"Explicitly speaking once again, we have no intention to sit face to face with U.S.," Kwon Jong Gun, director general in charge of U.S. affairs at North Korea's foreign ministry, said in July.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said last week that there were indications North Korea was CONTINUING to produce enriched uranium at its Yongbyon nuclear facility.

Grossi said North Korea's nuclear activities "remain a cause for serious concern" in a statement to the IAEA's Board of Governors.

"The continuation of the country's nuclear program is a clear violation of relevant U.N. Security Council resolutions and is deeply regrettable," he said.

After a 17-month hiatus, Pyongyang conducted over a dozen missile and weapons tests over the latter half of 2019. At the end of the year, Kim warned of a "new strategic weapon" coming soon.

North Korea tested weapons in March and April of this year, but it is unclear how much COVID-19 and recent damage from a series of typhoons have impacted the country's military plans.

Many observers are looking toward Oct. 10, when North Korea is expected to hold a large-scale military parade to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea. In the past, Pyongyang has used parades to show off its latest military hardware.

Satellite image analysis released Monday by website 38 North showed that practice is underway for the parade, which appears to include multiple-rocket launcher vehicles.

Analysts and South Korean officials have speculated that North Korea could test a submarine-launched ballistic missile around the anniversary date due to activity seen around the country's Sinpo South Shipyard.

If he declares that the government of Oregon or any other states, were not enforcing the election laws and they were trying to overturn the country by delaying the results of the election because of the COVID-19, he actually has the authority to declare insurrections were rebellions.

Whenever the President considers that unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion against the authority of the United States, make it impracticable to enforce the laws of the United States in any State by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings, he may call into Federal service such of the militia of any State, and use such of the armed forces, as he considers necessary to enforce those laws or to suppress the rebellion.

The Insurrection act was passed in 1870.

Trump has repeatedly tweeted earlier.

Because of the new and unprecedented massive amount of unsolicited ballots which will be sent to “voters”, or wherever, this year, the Nov 3rd Election result may NEVER BE ACCURATELY DETERMINED, which is what some want. Another election disaster yesterday. Stop Ballot Madness!

The only thing that may save our country is the United Military forces are not allowed to enforce the law. But they won't have the #resign . It might be a Tuesday Night Massacre!
