Donald Trump is Gallup's most admired man for 2020!

Must come as a shock to to those who would have expected it to be Joe Biden, given his tremendous vote total? But just because you get 80 million votes, doesn't mean anyone admires you.

Well this is certainly a disconnect from  how the media played out the Fauci v Trump story or how they make it out as if dementia Joe is everyone's favorite grandpa. At the end of the day twice as many people admire Donald Trump than Fauci and Biden put together.

What is even more interesting is that this is the 10th time that Donald Trump has been on the list, meaning he was admired and popular long before he became President. Of course Barack Obama made the list for the 15th time and ended Obama's 12 year streak.

Odd that this happened in the same year that everything seemed to haywire?

The Gallup poll is run by a Republican obviously. They put Trump on the most admired men list.
He should be on the first to go to Federal prison list.

GOT A MINUTE? 12-29-2020
In 2016, the extreme right of the Republican Party decided to back a non-politician, They were sure an outsider was exactly what our country needed, a failed businessman would surely fix what they felt was ailing America. However, They foolishly did not do their homework, they did not do their research on Trump, but some actually knew the truth, and voted for him anyway. They backed this psychopath, this racist Fascist uncontrollable liar, who even in a time of nationwide pandemic would not act. The extreme right caught us sleeping, too complacent to act. Those Trump supporters with their greedy twisted religious racist gun-loving ideas were gonna teach us liberals a thing or two, now, they've almost destroyed our Democracy, and still may, the jury is still out, it is most certainly damaged.

They can't say we didn't warn them, and it's hard to restrain myself, hard for me not to tell all of them exactly what I really think, or what I'd like to see happen to them after this is over. All of them deserve much worse than anything I can conceive, and even that would not be enough. The extreme right is part & parcel of everything Trump and the "Trump" GOP have done to us and our country over the last four years, it is they that are the real problem. They can never separate themselves from all the damage done, nor can they run away from their guilt over the now, approximately three-hundred and forty thousand Americans who died needlessly because of Trump's and the elected Republican's inaction to the pandemic. Even a terrorist attack on Christmas day in one of America's beloved city's brought no response from this moron they all backed, Nor did he sign the relief Bill until the unemployment ran out for millions of Americans on 12-26-20, and unless something is done, Americans will lose one of the eleven weeks of unemployment payments. Trump just continues playing Golf or barricading himself in our White House, and Tweeting pure nonsense about winning the election he actually legally lost.

To the tune of approximately 74 million, these fools lined up and voted for this narcissistic psychopath, knowing exactly what Trump is. They watched as he called our military heroes "losers," and "suckers," watched as he did nothing as Putin put bounties on them as well, and as Russia hacked many government agencies, and our country's businesses as well. They all stood by and allowed this maniac to rip children from their parents and put them in cages, and then later, in concentration camps, including infants. None of them represent the Republican Party of my youth, this Republican Party only represents division, racism, and hatred. There will be no "coming together," we will not let "bygones be bygones," or be singing Kumbaya with them any time soon. Instead, we will continue working to defeat their evil plans for our country, it will be us, the true American Patriot that makes this country whole again, with love, compassion, and the acceptance of the fact, that we are all created equal, and real law and order leading our way. This is by no means over. We won, and we are done with them.

Biden Adviser Slams Pentagon Obstruction
7:15 pm
Incoming national security adviser Jake Sullivan told NPR the outgoing Trump administration still isn’t providing information in the way President-elect Joe Biden’s lieutenants feel is appropriate for a team poised to take the reins of power.

Said Sullivan: “It kind of comes back to the lack of visibility that we have right now into a number of critical issues relating to military operations because of DoD’s obstruction and roadblocks, and that will mean that we are going to have to take time at the beginning of the administration after Jan. 20 to take a hard look at how we’re postured, and what threats we’re up against, and what continuing the drawdowns look like in the way of risk to force and other considerations.”

INSANELY,
Trump Asks Supreme Court to Overturn Wisconsin
8:29 pm
“President Trump asked the U.S. Supreme Court
to reverse Wisconsin’s high court,
set aside the state’s presidential election
and allow Republicans who control the Legislature to decide how to cast the state’s 10 electoral votes,”
the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

“It’s the latest in a string of dozens of challenges by the Republican president and his allies to overturn the Nov. 3 election he lost to Democrat Joe Biden.
Trump and his supporters have failed to make headway in the courts.”
____

That's putting it mildly. :-)

Pence FINALLY GREW SOME BACKBONE AND Refused the Plan to Overturn Election
9:29 pm
“Lawyers representing Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) and Arizona’s 11 GOP electors disclosed in a court filing Tuesday that Vice President Mike Pence rejected their request to join their attempt to subvert the results of the presidential election,” The Hill reports.

The Trümperdämmerung Is a Fitting End to 2020
9:27 pm
Susan Glasser:
“As the awful year of 2020 and the awful tenure of Donald Trump both come to an end,
the President has partied with the unmasked in Palm Beach
and taken credit for a vaccine against a virus that he once counseled could be beaten with bleach.
He has pardoned mercenary child-killers and Paul Manafort.
He has golfed.
He has raged.
He has vetoed the annual defense bill
and threatened to shut down the government over the holidays.
He has turned against even some of his most loyal henchmen,
and some, in turn, have finally flipped on him.

‘Mr. President... STOP THE INSANITY,’
the New York Post blared on Monday,
after four years of relentless cheerleading.”

“But, of course, the President did not, and he will not.
He continues to refuse to accept his defeat in the election,
and just the other day he retweeted a claim that ‘treason’ kept him from winning.
Injecting still more political drama into the most ministerial of constitutional processes, Trump and his most fanatical supporters now want Congress to refuse to confirm Joe Biden’s Electoral College win on January 6th—
which is both pointless,
in that it will not happen,
and incredibly destructive.
NOT TO MENTION STUPID.

Meanwhile, more than a hundred thousand Americans have died of the coronavirus just since the election,
and only two million Americans—
not the hundred million he once promised—
have so far received the vaccine.

“The Trümperdämmerung [dimming of Trump] is finally here,
and it is every bit the raging dumpster fire that we,
the unlucky audience for this drama,
have come to expect.”

Congressman-elect Luke Letlow, 41, dies from coronavirus complications; 'we're all in disbelief'
9:45 PM
Congressman-elect Luke Letlow died Tuesday evening from complications with COVID-19, shaking the Louisiana political world weeks after his election to represent Louisiana's 5th District in Congress as the state's youngest U.S. representative.

Letlow, 41, died at Ochsner-LSU Health Shreveport from “complications from COVID-19,” his spokesman, Andrew Bautsch, said in a statement.

Letlow was admitted to a Monroe hospital with COVID-19 symptoms on Dec. 19th before being transferred to the Shreveport hospital and moving to the intensive care unit on Dec. 23rd. Letlow is survived by his wife, Julie Barnhill Letlow, and two young children, Bautsch said.

He was in critical condition but had recently shown signs of improvement when he "apparently suffered a cardiac event this evening that was refractory to all resuscitation efforts," said Dr. G.E. Ghali, of LSU Health Shreveport.

Ghali previously said Letlow was being treated with the antiviral drug Remdesivir and steroids. Asked if Letlow had any underlying conditions that would have made his death more likely, Ghali said in a text message, "none. All COVID related."

“The family appreciates the numerous prayers and support over the past days but asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time,” Bautsch said. “A statement from the family along with funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.”

Letlow won election to Congress earlier this month to replace outgoing Republican U.S. Rep. Ralph Abraham, for whom he served as chief of staff. He was set to be Louisiana’s youngest congressman.

"We're all in disbelief," said Louis Gurvich, the Republican party chair. "The world was his oyster."

Letlow, of Start, a small rural community east of Monroe, beat out Alexandria state Rep. Lance Harris, also a Republican, in a runoff election to succeed Abraham on Dec. 5th.

He was well-known among Louisiana political and government officials, having previously worked for Bobby Jindal when Jindal was in Congress and later in the governor's office. He arrived in Abraham's office in 2014 after a stint working for a Denver energy company in governmental relations.

"Luke has been a good friend for so many years, and we are saddened he was taken from us at such a young age," Jindal said in a post on Twitter. "We had talked in recent days about his excitement about the opportunity to serve the people of the 5th Congressional district, and his love and devotion for Julia and their kids."

Jindal said he first met Letlow when Letlow was a college student and spent "countless hours with him in his truck driving the back roads of Louisiana. His passion for service has been a constant throughout his life."

Letlow touted his government experience in his bid for Congress, saying he would use his political background to work with Republicans, Democrats and government staffers to bring federal aid to the largely rural district, which is the second-poorest congressional district in the country. He said his priorities were creating jobs and extending fast internet service throughout the district.

His district, which he would have represented upon inauguration next month, encompasses 24 parishes and includes Monroe, Alexandria, Opelousas, St. Francisville, Amite and Bogalusa.

When he tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month, Letlow was one of many elected officials who had contracted the virus, including U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, Attorney General Jeff Landry, Treasurer John Schroder and Congressman Mike Johnson. Early in the pandemic, state Rep. Reggie Bagala died from COVID-19, but no major elected officials had since succumbed to the virus that has killed more than 7,000 in Louisiana.

His death prompted an outpouring of support from elected officials and political operatives across the political spectrum. U.S. Rep. Garret Graves, R-Baton Rouge, called Letlow's death a "huge loss to Louisiana and America."

U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy said his death "brings home COVID can kill. To most folks it doesn't but it truly can."

Gov. John Bel Edwards said in a statement that Letlow "felt a calling from a young age to serve the people of his home state."

"COVID-19 has taken Congressman-elect Letlow from us far too soon. I am heartbroken that he will not be able to serve our people as a U.S. Representative, but I am even more devastated for his loving family," Edwards said. "Louisiana has lost more than 7,300 people to COVID-19 since March, and each one of them leaves a tremendous hole in our state.”

The governor ordered flags to be flown at half staff on the day of Letlow's funeral.

Soon to be Former President Trump will be facing an increasingly difficult situation.

NEW YORK — The Manhattan District Attorney's Office has retained forensic accounting specialists to aid its criminal investigation of President Trump and his business operations, as prosecutors ramp up their scrutiny of his company's real estate transactions, according to people familiar with the matter.

District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. opened the investigation in 2018 to examine alleged hush-money payments made to two women who, during Trump’s first presidential campaign, claimed to have had affairs with him years earlier. The probe has since expanded, and now includes the Trump Organization's activities more broadly, said the people familiar with the matter. Vance’s office has suggested in court filings that bank, tax and insurance fraud are areas of exploration.

Vance has contracted with FTI Consulting to look for anomalies among a variety of property deals, and to advise the district attorney on whether the president’s company manipulated the value of certain assets to obtain favorable interest rates and tax breaks, according to a person with knowledge of the investigation who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity because the matter remains highly sensitive. The probe is believed to encompass transactions spanning several years.

With two Georgia Senate runoffs looming on Jan. 5, Mr. Trump seems intent on hurting GOP chances while blaming Senate leaders in advance if the Republican incumbents lose. Never mind that he has put Republicans on the spot by siding with Democrats on the $2,000 checks.

Mr. McConnell tried to navigate this mudslide from Mar-a-Lago as best he could on Tuesday by announcing he’ll hold a vote on the checks and Mr. Trump’s other demands in the future. The bill could include the $2,000 checks, plus a repeal of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, plus an investigation of voter fraud.

This is the right policy choice, since the $2,000 checks are unnecessary and the truly needy have access to expanded jobless benefits, food stamps, child-care subsidies and much more. As for the politics, this is damage control. Georgia Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue quickly endorsed the $2,000 checks, and Mr. McConnell will take the heat for blocking them. The Majority Leader knows most GOP Senators oppose adding another $350 billion or more to the federal deficit while setting an awful precedent for the next recession.

We’ll see how this plays out in Georgia, but the fault here isn’t Mitch McConnell’s. The political damage to the GOP comes from Donald Trump, who is lashing out at all and sundry in defeat—no matter if it also helps to elect a Democratic Senate.

Lawyers representing Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and Arizona’s 11 GOP electors disclosed in a court filing Tuesday that Vice President Pence rejected their request to join their attempt to subvert the results of the presidential election.

Gohmert and the electors filed suit against Pence on Monday in an attempt to argue that the vice president has sole authority to determine which presidential electors Congress will count when it certifies the results of the election. The far-fetched suit essentially asks the court to grant Pence the authority on Jan. 6 to overrule the results in swing states such as Arizona and have Congress count only pro-Trump electors instead of the ones President-elect Joe Biden won.

Outgoing president Donald Trump tweeted out a video Monday night that had a Nobel Prize superimposed over it, though he's never won one.

The video didn't include the correct medal, either.

The clip tweeted by the president — who has so far refused to concede that he lost the 2020 election to President-elect Joe Biden — lauds him for "[standing] for America," among other things. The unexplained Nobel Prize appears toward the end of the minute-long video, after a title card that declared, "Trump stands for peace."

President Donald Trump walking out to speak in the Brady Briefing Room in the White House, Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, in Washington. Walking behind Trump is Vice President Mike Pence.

Legal experts and commentators are crying foul after Rasmussen Reports, a conservative-leaning polling firm, quoted a line attributed to Joseph Stalin and linked to right-wing commentary arguing vice president Mike Pence could still try to overturn the legitimate presidential election results.

On Sunday, Rasmussen Reports, once described as the president’s “favourite pollster,” tweeted out a thread from conservative blogger, gaming media executive, and self-described “internet supervillain” Alexander Macris. It detailed a dubious theory about how the vice president, who will ceremonially certify the election results before a joint session of Congress on 6 January, could overturn the process and give the Trump administration a win.

It began with a quote, likely apocryphal, from Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, which read, “Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything.”

Lack of Funding Has Caused Vaccine Bottleneck

Stat News:
“The logistics of the rollout have been largely left up to states to navigate. States and local public health officials have warned for months that they would need more than $8 billion in additional funding to stand up the infrastructure needed to administer vaccines.

“The Trump administration instead provided states $340 million in funding to prepare for vaccinations. Congressional lawmakers also balked for months at appropriating additional funding for vaccine distribution, although the coronavirus stimulus package signed by President Trump on Sunday included $8 billion in funding for that effort.”

Strong Early Voting Gives Democrats Hope In Georgia
8:39 am
Politico:
“Democrats are buoyed by the strong early vote numbers, which show Black voters making up a larger percentage of the electorate than in November and higher early turnout in Democratic congressional districts in the state. Both are positive signs for Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, the two challengers, easing fears that the typical voter dropoff that has plagued Democrats in past years would doom the party’s chances with control of the Senate on the line.

“Meanwhile, early-vote turnout has lagged in Republican-held congressional districts, likely leaving GOP Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue with a larger deficit heading into Election Day than they had to make up on Nov. 3, with early voting concluding this week leading up to the New Year’s holiday.”

The Washington Post reports President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris “will both travel to Georgia in the closing days before its pair of Senate runoff elections, underscoring the importance of contests that will determine which party controls the chamber next year.”

AND SO MEANWHILE THE RACIST GOP
Seeks to Roll Back Mail-In Voting
7:10 am
“As President Trump continues to level baseless claims of voter fraud almost two months after his Nov. 3 election loss, Republican lawmakers in states Trump contested are pushing new voting restrictions for future elections,
” USA Today reports.

“That includes proposals to roll back laws in Georgia and Pennsylvania that allowed all registered voters to vote by mail – moves that civil rights and voting advocates say could suppress turnout.”

Just keep revealing your anti-Blacks biases.
