Preemptive strike?

Georgia announces signature matching review for presidential election ballots
On Thursday, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced a statewide move to match signatures to their absentee ballots in all 159 counties in the state.
The announcement comes just weeks before two Georgia Senate runoff elections on Jan. 5 will determine which party controls the Senate.

The underlying buzz is that this is to ensure election integrity, which suggests that they do not believe that they will find issues. But I think to a large degree that this is a shot across the bow for the upcoming election and it will be likely that signature matching will be done prior to any vote counting in the Georgia run-offs.

The announcement called out a couple of counties that did not follow proper procedures in the Presidential election. It's pretty much assured that such a thing will not happen again in January. Making sure future elections are run properly (rather than attempting to overturn previous elections) should be the main concern at this point.

i don't hold out any hope for the GA runoff to be handled with any integrity.

the left has shown us all that they can steal an election right out in the open with zero repercussions. the precedent has been set. why couldn't they steal GA too?

The Constitution doesn’t say “verify” or “certify.” Those processes have already been done elsewhere, initially by the states and finally by the electors.

What all of this means is not only that the objections threatened by Trump’s supporters would have no chance of getting through Congress, but also that they would be constitutionally invalid even if they did.

In the final analysis, the last word in this election doesn’t go to Congress in any meaningful way. The last word goes, instead, to the Constitution.

The ECA may seem to give Trump’s supporters the right to object to alleged irregularities in the voting process on January 6, but the Constitution doesn’t.

Earth to Congress: Shut up and count.

Scott, the turnout in Georgia runoffs early voting is higher than the general election.

It is going to be very close. But the President is calling the vote fraud, may discourage Republican voters.

The Supreme Court’s 1915 ruling in Burdick v. United States, declared that a presidential pardon carries with it “an imputation of guilt,” and that acceptance of a pardon constitutes a “confession.”

If he runs in 2024 he would be a convicted felon

Because each state runs the election process.

The federal government might have some authority to regulate the election systems.

But it gets into constitutional authority

PRAGUE (Reuters) - Slovak Prime Minister Igor Matovic said on Friday he had COVID-19, a week after attending a summit with French President Emmanuel Macron who later tested positive for the disease.

Matovic, 47, posted a message showing his positive test and an order to observe 10 days of isolation on Facebook, but did not say where he had been infected.

The government office said he had cancelled all events for the coming days but gave no details of the circumstances behind him being tested. Matovic did not mention having any symptoms.

As he accepted the Republican nomination for president in summer 2016, Donald Trump promised, “We will make America safe again.”

“The most basic duty of government is to defend the lives of its citizens,” he said. “Any government that fails to do so is a government unworthy to lead.”

His own words prove that he was unworthy of leading us.

Indeed, Rigie confirmed to The Post on Friday morning that the guidance was changed by the State Liquor Authority overnight, albeit very quietly and buried in a question-and-answer section.

Roger - you realize that "early voting" did not favor Democrats. It was "mail in voting" that favored Democrats. Same day voting favored Republicans.
"Early voting" was largely a wash.

If there are not a couple million mail in ballots from Georgia... then your Democrats could be in trouble.

One of Donald Trump's most notable advisors, Jared Kushner, reportedly helped create a campaign shell company to secretly pay the president's family.

Business Insider reports that Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump, allegedly approved the creation of the shell company, which ultimately spent approximately half of the Trump campaign's huge $1.26 billion budget. A person close to the situation has alleged that Kushner directed Mike Pence's nephew John Pence, Trump campaign Chief Financial officer Sean Dollman, and Lara Trump to serve on the company's board. The company was incorporated as American Made Media Consultants Corp. and American Made Media Consultants LLC. (or AMMC for short).

The creation of the shell company was supposedly to hide financial and operational details from the public, especially as the Trump campaign supposedly spent an astonishing $617 million on his reelection campaign through the company from January 2019 to November 2020. It was first formed in April 2018, and acted as a campaign within a campaign, doling out money to the president's top advisors and Trump family members.
