Under an experimental program in King County, first-time criminals will not see jail time for crimes, nor pay restitution. Instead, the suspects get a pass from any jailtime or record, with the “community” choosing the punishment. Plus, as an added bonus, county taxpayers will quite literally pay for the crimes.
It’s the latest scheme from King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg to give a pass to criminals, while giving himself the ability to ignore his job. And even though these crimes disproportionately occur in Seattle, it’ll be the entire county that pays…
Perhaps this could be made into a reality television show. The first thirty minutes or so getting a back story on the criminal, then the next twenty minutes or so recording the "community" discussing how the criminal will be punished, and the final ten minutes of the show could be watching the criminal be punished.
If you want this to take a less than serious role, the "community" could be overseen by one of the Jokers from Impractical Jokers who works with them on how the criminal could be "punished". These punishments could be something like giving an embarrassing public speech written by the community, running a 10K in giant floppy shoes while spectators throw water on them, or one where the criminal must attend a social event all the while having to eat two large turkey legs that are tied to their wrists before they can leave. Perhaps they could sing the national anthem at a sporting event, be forced to to refuse a heartwarming public proposal (from an actor) in front of an endearing crowd, or be forced to enter a cannonball contest at a pool while only being allowed to do belly flops.
The possibilities are endless. Hopefully none of the criminals are afraid of spiders, snakes, or cats. Just saying...

i've gotten to the point where the only problem i have with these clowns is -
they'll do an outstanding job of destroying their communities, and that is hilarious to watch. right up until they find themselves standing amidst the ruins of their own making, and then they decide to move. they move to a normal, peaceful, vibrant community. and they bring their politics with them, and proceed to destroy their new home.

Seriously, a properly managed a drug rehabilitation system, could help thousands of people, who have not yet committed acts of violence or abuse, could eventually reduced the number of violent acts and abuses.
A lot of people get into drugs are not violent or abusive.

Most of the immigrants are on work Visas to the big tech industries and can actually afford the Audi that Roger wants (but cannot have). A black man in Seattle is likely someone with a Masters from a college in some foreign country who was pulled in to code for Amazon or Microsoft.

i was last there in 2004 and all i saw was whites and asians back then. the place looked and felt like one big open air starbucks, and the only black guy i personally encountered was the cabbie who took me from my hotel back to the airport to catch my flight home. great guy. hopefully the black LIES matter crew hasn't jaded him.
the place appeared normal to me. haven't been back since. i am a frequent online shopper at filson though. good stuff.

i read an interesting article several months ago about the homeless/junkie problem in either seattle or portland. could have been either really. the point that struck home with me is how these "programs" that are set up to "help" the junkies/homeless are lavishly funded; with directors and associate directors and managers and supervisors...
...ALL knocking down suh-weet six figure$, with with nothing being done to actually address the issues. iow, it's just a grift. guilt ridden liberals get to feel good about themselves while raking in serious taxpayer funded bank...
...and the homeless/junkies are still around, in numbers that are at best static and at worst GROWING.
they're probably the folks who roam the streets looking to 'punch a nazi' on the weekends in between starbucks breaks.
