Newsom ends lockdowns in California?

over 23,000 cases and over 400 deaths yesterday just in California?

You don't need no stinkin mask!

As the narrative changes, it becomes crystal clear that conservatives were correct and liberals were gaslighted by their politicians who told them that the economy killing lockdowns were "necessary" to control the virus. Perhaps the real truth is that these lockdowns were not helpful, other than to destroy the economy so that the very Democrats who called for these lockdowns could blame Trump for a bad economy.

There is no logical explanation to be had, where an effective means for controlling a virus would be eliminated right at the point where that virus has increased, mutated, expanded, and is currently killing more people than it ever has. The most likely logical reason that someone would end these lockdowns now is because they never worked to begin with.

The less logical reason would be that Newsom, Coumo, Whitmer, and others are choosing to let more people die in order to push economic expansion, because they no longer want to see economic disaster now that a Democrat is in the White House.

Either way, it is clear that our Democratic politicians used Covid for political gain. Either they were willing to kill our economy for Covid policies that they knew didn't work, or they are now allowing people to die because they need to ramp up their economies for the sake of partisan politics.

Take your pick.

Nearly our entire public life—the things that make live worth living—has been shut down, ruined, put out of business, and burned to the ground in total defiance of the Constitution. Not to mention the security of our electoral system, whose safeguards in many states were summarily junked during the recent presidential election. If and when everything reopens, it will be under the conditions of the “new normal,” which means that in practice, they will never, ever, ever let us go.

In retrospect, many things cost Donald Trump the election but the thing that most did him in was the CCP virus and, far worse, his decision to put the self-aggrandizing Anthony Fauci on national television for weeks on end to frighten the bejesus out of the American public and pave the way for the Stalinist conformity to which the public is now exhorted and commanded.

Perhaps worst of all, affecting our very humanity, is the notion of “social distancing,” which has cruelly separated both individuals and generations, instructing people to regard their fellow human being not as a fellow child of God but a radioactive nightmare as likely to kill you as look at you. Children in particular have been taught the most useful lesson the ruling class behind this monstrous policy could hope for: fear, obedience, and submission.

Has it been worth it? By any unemotional and rational consideration, the answer is no.

California has moved into second place in overall deaths and has been averaging tens of thousands of new cases and hundreds of deaths a day.

Things are objectively the worst that they have ever been. They hit a peak number of deaths just a few days ago (740 in one day).

Where on earth did you get the impression that they are getting better?

Are you living under a rock?

Or possibly in the lock down unit of a dementia nursing home?

I would argue that the alky has a point -

a surge in the death of Californians IS an improvement, and IS an indication that things ARE getting better.

I'm quite OK with purging the assholes. they're a cancer on our society, they fuck up the places they move to after having destroyed their own state, and the fewer Californians we have in out overall population, the better off we ALL are.

California has a higher percentage of minorities, who voters are more suspicious to infections.

It also has highly populated areas where the infections are spread more often than in the suburbs.

so... population density now impacts FREQUENCY of infection?

Well Roger....

If things really are not getting better (as they are not). Shouldn't the fact that you have more minorities, etc, etc, etc, really be more reason to "keep" your restrictions in place...

Unless, of course, you admit that the lockdowns never worked?

Shutdown orders prevented about 60 million novel coronavirus infections in the United States and 285 million in China, according to a research study published Monday that examined how stay-at-home orders and other restrictions limited the spread of the contagion.

A separate study from epidemiologists at Imperial College London estimated the shutdowns saved about 3.1 million lives in 11 European countries, including 500,000 in the United Kingdom, and dropped infection rates by an average of 82 percent, sufficient to drive the contagion well below epidemic levels.

The two reports, published simultaneously Monday in the journal Nature, used completely different methods to reach similar conclusions. They suggest that the aggressive and unprecedented shutdowns, which caused massive economic disruptions and job losses, were effective at halting the exponential spread of the novel coronavirus.

Project to today the numbers would have been fucking terrible news.

Probably 100,000,000 more Americans would have been infected today and the death toll would be three times higher.

If shutdowns and such worked...

Then why is New York, California, Chicago, Michigan, and a slew of other liberal areas abandoning them at the stage when the virus is worse?

Please answer that question Roger?

Implementation of a nationwide mask mandate, combined with complementary public health measures, could reduce the coronavirus’ spread to essentially zero and have a potential $1 trillion impact on the U.S. GDP, according to researchers at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.

The team’s research “makes clear that even as vaccines are developed and new variants, like B.1.7.7, are being discovered, the power to protect ourselves remains in our hands, as individuals,” said Anne Rimoin, a UCLA Fielding School professor of epidemiology who co-authored its report.

“Wearing a mask is one of the simplest, most effective and cheapest ways to do exactly that — and it’s been proven by the history of epidemiology over the past century, going back to the 1918-19 influenza pandemic and even before,” she said.

Because the rate of infection are going down.

Plus they want to save millions of jobs in small businesses, like restaurants and bars, with proper sanitation and social distancing. And restricting the percentage of tables.

NO ROGER!!!! IT'S NOT!!!!

We are literally in the WORST stage of the virus since it started. We are seeing three to four times the amount of new cases as we did during the previous peak (back in June).

We have 10 million active cases after averaging under 3 million for months.

We are averaging more deaths today (by far) than we have ever had.

THINGS ARE WORSE THAN THEY EVER HAVE BEEN!

LA restaurant owner in viral video slamming shutdown orders joined lawsuit against Newsom

Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom is now being sued along with Attorney General Xavier Becerra and public health officer Dr. Erica Pan by five businesses over the state’s coronavirus stay-at-home orders and for being shut down. Attorneys for Pineapple Hill Saloon & Grill, Luxury Nail Lounge, Pomp Salon, Bella & Harmony, and Coachella Valley Hospitality Unites are charging that the restrictions violated their constitutional rights.

She just joined the lawsuit against Newsom.

“There is no science nor data that justifies the blanket closure of all outdoor dining and beauty services,” Harmeet K. Dhillon, managing partner of the Dhillon Law Group, Inc., said in a Friday statement. “While California continues to experience the most restrictive shelter-in-place orders in the country, the highest positive test rate and most deaths, Governor Newsom’s orders are devastating small businesses while not saving lives.”

The lawsuit purports that Newsom, Becerra, and Pan have deprived small businesses of “fundamental rights protected by the U.S. and California Constitutions, including freedom of assembly and due process and equal protection under the law.”
