Let me be perfectly clear

As it pertains to the faux impeachment trial, I couldn't care less about ANYTHING other than the concept of what Democrats "charged" Trump with and how that is defined by THE LAW.

Democrats don't get to just change the definition of laws for impeachment

He was charged with Incitement of an Insurrection.

Let's forget for a second that there was no "insurrection" by any legal definition because nobody has been charged with "insurrection". Let's just concentrate on the LEGAL definition of THE LAW surrounding incitement and how the courts have treated it. Specifically the USSC.

What does it require to be considered legally "Incitement":
  • The speech must specifically advocate for listeners to take unlawful action
  • The speech must provide detailed instructions on how to break the law
  • The speech must incite immediate action both in time and space
So far Democrats have  failed to prove that the President specifically told anyone to breach the Capital building, failed to prove that he provided any detailed instructions, or even proved that the speech incited any violence in the space he gave it (which was not at the Capital building). More to the point, they are not even attempting to prove any of that, because they admittedly cannot.

So for you liberals who have no problem with Democrats changing the rules of impeachment for their own benefit, you are free to make your own judgements based on those changed rules if it so pleases you. But don't expect others to judge this by quite literally "made up standards" that have been created on the fly to fit actions that otherwise would never be considered anything close to a crime.

I will be judging this based on the law... thank you very much.

We get it. You hate the "bad orange man". That doesn't mean we throw out the foundations of everything that makes our legal system what it is.

15 GOP Senators Give Dems Parting Insult at Trump Impeachment Trial, CNN’s Reaction is Priceless

The Senate GOP has had just about enough of the Democrats’ grandstanding at the second Trump impeachment trial.

And 15 Republican senators showed the Democrats just how important they thought their rambling, baseless tirades against Donald Trump: They didn’t show up at all.

CNN’s reporters scolded the Republicans for their no-show to the Democrats show trial, but they also noted hilarious things like Bernie Sanders struggling to stay awake.

“As many as 15 seats of Republican senators were empty during the first few hours of the trial Thursday, compared to just a handful of Democrats who were outside of the chamber, according to pool reports,” Forbes reported.

They really haven't presented any evidence that any action by Trump meets the definition of incitement to insurrection. This is just a show trial for political purposes.

The mood of the country is to move on from the Trump years and look to see what Biden going to do (or not do). People, even people who don't like Trump are tired of the political persecution of Trump.and the media circus that it entails.

WASHINGTON—President Biden said the U.S. has struck deals to purchase 200 million more Covid-19 vaccine doses, following a pledge in January to boost the number of shots available for Americans.

Mr. Biden said in a speech at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md., that the U.S. signed contracts with Pfizer Inc. and Moderna Inc. that require each company to provide an additional 100 million vaccine doses.

“We have to stay vigilant, we have to stay focused and for God’s sake, we have to remember who we are. We are the United States of America. We can do this,” the president said.

The additional vaccines will bring the total number of doses ordered by the U.S. from the two companies to 600 million from 400 million. The administration said in January that it was working on the purchases, which would provide enough supply to vaccinate 300 million Americans in a two-dose regimen, covering all individuals in the U.S. currently eligible to receive the vaccine. The vaccine hasn’t been approved for people under 16 years old.

The Congress has the authority to determine if the person has committed a high crime or misdemeanor.

The President failed his oath.

On January 6th, you said the same thing.

Liz Cheney has called it an insurrection.

Today they provided a timeline that shows his intent.

At about 2:13 PM Vice President Pence and his family were taken to a safe place.

At about 2:38 PM he tweeted saying that the vice President Pence should not be a coward. I will provide the extra words.

Instead of tweeting stand down and go back home, he attacked Pence.

The Atlantic:
There Is No Defense—Only Complicity
David Frum

To understand what was at issue in the impeachment proceedings today, it helps to look at a video released yesterday by Senator Marco Rubio.

Few Republican officials have more reason to hate former President Donald Trump than the defeated rival Trump so memorably nicknamed “Liddle Marco.”
Trump brutally bullied Rubio throughout the presidential primary campaign in 2015 and 2016.
Over the five years since, Trump imposed one humiliation after another upon Rubio.
Now it’s rumored that Ivanka Trump intends to challenge Rubio for his Senate seat in 2022.

But Rubio knows that Republican senators who defy Trump have a way of ending up as ex-senators.
And so he abases himself again and again to defend Trump.
He appeared on Fox News Sunday on January 24 to denounce this second impeachment trial as “stupid.”
And in his February 9 video, a senator who often speaks out against authoritarian corruption in China, Cuba, and Venezuela positioned himself as its apologist here at home-—dismissing accountability for the January 6 attacks as a “waste of our time.”

But here’s the important thing, the big reveal: As he delivered his message, Rubio looked absolutely miserable.
Watch it yourself and see what I mean.
Rubio looked equally miserable on Fox News Sunday.

Unlike so many of his fellow senators, Rubio has no double face.
He has no guile and no game.
His face displays his feelings. And he is feeling this.

Those feelings are not leading Rubio to do the right thing.
He has already committed to do the wrong thing,
as will so many other Senate Republicans.
But he’s not happy about it.
He’s angry about it.
He knows he’s being inscribed as one of the villains of American history, one of the saps and weaklings of the American present.
Trapped, helpless, and embarrassed, he seethes with resentment about a predicament he cannot see a way to escape.

And he is not finding it.

There is no escape for him,
and no escape for the other Republican senators in that same predicament.

Today the House impeachment managers made that predicament more inescapable and more agonizing.

Over almost eight hours, the House managers presented a detailed timeline of Trump’s culpability for the January 6 attack.

*They showed how Trump started arguing in mid-summer 2020 that any result other than his own reelection should be treated as a “fraud” and a “steal.”
*They showed the intensifying violence of his rhetoric on TV and Twitter through November and December.
*And they itemized how Trump repeatedly and forcefully summoned supporters to Washington on January 6 to stop the final certification of the vote in Congress.
Then they played a minute-by-minute juxtaposition of Trump’s words of incitement on the day of the attack
with videos of the violence of supporters who told cameras again and again that they acted on Trump’s orders, at Trump’s wishes.

*They showed how Trump went silent as the assault unfolded,

*how he ignored supporters who pleaded with him to call off the attack or call out the National Guard.

*They quoted Trump praising and thanking the insurrectionists even after he knew they had wounded police officers,

and repeating the big lie that had set the insurrection in motion,

the big lie that he had somehow won an election that he had actually lost by 7 million votes.

The remorseless, crushing power of the House managers’ evidence, all backed by horrifying real-time audio and video recordings, shuttered any good-faith defense of Trump on the merits of the case.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

The constitutional defense—that it’s impossible to convict a president if he leaves office between his impeachment and his trial
—was rejected by 56 senators yesterday,
not least because it defies a quarter millennium of federal and state precedents.

There is no defense.

There is only complicity,
whether motivated by weakness
and fear
or by shared guilt.

And the House managers forced every Republican senator to feel that complicity from the inside out.

That feeling of complicity will not change the final outcome of this Senate trial.

The weak will be no less weak for being shamed by their weakness;

those who share Trump’s guilt will not cease to share it because that guilt has been blazed to the world.

But at least the House case can restrict the personal and political options of the weak and the guilty.

If a senator like Marco Rubio did not feel his world tightening around him, he would not look so haunted.

The Republican senators are shrinking before the eyes of the whole country.

They are all becoming 'liddle.'

They know it.

They feel it.

They hate it.

But they cannot stop it."

Biden Has Secured 200 Million More Vaccine Doses
3:46 pm
“President Biden is expected to announce Thursday afternoon that his administration has secured deals for another 200 million doses of coronavirus vaccine,” the Washington Post reports.

“The purchases would increase available supply by 50 percent, bringing the total to 600 million doses. Because both products are two-dose regimens, that would be enough to fully vaccinate 300 million people.”
__________

Trump promised small and delivered smaller (twenty million fell to four.)

Biden promises big and will deliver big,
I betcha.

We are told that the DC riot killed five people. Sometimes seven deaths are linked to the riot. But here’s the truth, as far as we’ve been officially told:

Of seven deaths, two were officers who committed suicide after the riot. We have never been given any evidence or any reason to believe that their suicides had anything to do with the riot. This is simply an assumption that many have made.

Of the five who died in or shortly after the riot, one was a man with a pre existing condition who suffered a heart attack. Another suffered a stroke at some point that day and died in a hospital.

One woman collapsed while in a rush of people outside the Capitol and died. We were told she was “trampled to death.” The medical examiner never confirmed that as the cause of death. We have not been given any additional information.

The fourth civilian death was Ashli Babbitt. She was an unarmed woman shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer inside the Capitol.

The fifth death was Officer Sicknick. We have been given absolutely no official information about his death at all. The only thing they’re telling us is that he was at the riot and later died. The autopsy results are being withheld. Nobody has been arrested for his murder.

So of the five deaths linked to the riot, only one — Babbit — can be conclusively considered a death caused by violence during the riot. Only the violence in this case was done by a cop. That is what we know right now. If anyone knows more, they aren’t telling us

Does this matter? Yes, because the truth matters. Also because the “deadly riot” characterization is how they’re justifying the military occupation of DC. People died. It’s tragic. But the how and the why really matter. A lot.

Trump criticized Mike Pence on Twitter just minutes after being told his vice president was being led out of the Senate chamber by security amid riots at the U.S. Capitol.

Tommy Tuberville told reporters on Wednesday that he informed the then-president that Pence was being escorted to safety in a phone call during the January 6 disorder. Trump had called to ask for the Alabama representative’s help in delaying the Senate’s confirmation of Joe Biden‘s election victory, Tuberville said, but the call was cut short.

“Well, I don’t know if you’ve ever talked to President Trump. You don’t get many words in, but he didn’t get a chance to say a whole lot, because I said, ‘Mr. President, they just took the vice president out, I’ve got to go,'” Tuberville said.

Surveillance footage shows that Pence was removed from the Senate at 2:14 p.m. Ten minutes later, a tweet from Trump’s now-banned account appeared to suggest—falsely—that Pence could have overturned the election result in his role as presiding officer of the Senate.

“Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution,”
 a 2:24 p.m. tweet read.

Tuberville’s remarks came at the end of the second day of Trump’s trial over charges he “incited an insurrection” at the Capitol. It is the first allegation that Trump was aware Pence was in danger before he sent the tweet, as noted by the HuffPost.

Trump supporters gathered on Capitol Hill on January 6 to protest Biden’s victory. A makeshift gallows, complete with a noose, was seen among the crowd. During the rioting inside the Capitol building, a mob could be heard chanting “hang Mike Pence” in the corridors.

Since Pence is going to run for President, he won't say that the Senate should convict Donald Trump. But if he did say that, the Republicans should convict Trump, he might change enough minds.

Mounting evidence emerging as former president Donald Trump’s impeachment trial unfolds in the Senate this week indicates Trump may have been personally informed that Vice President Mike Pence was in physical danger during the Jan. 6 Capitol siege, just moments before denigrating him on Twitter.
Trump’s decision to tweet that Pence lacked “courage” — a missive sent shortly after the vice president had been rushed off the Senate floor — underscores how he delayed taking action to stop his supporters as they ransacked the Capitol.
Many of them were intent on doing harm to Pence, whom Trump had singled out at a rally earlier in the day, falsely claiming the vice president had the power to stop Congress from formalizing Joe Biden’s electoral college victory.
Trump’s tweet came at 2:24 p.m. that day — only 11 minutes after live television coverage showed Pence being hustled from the Senate floor because rioters were streaming into the building one floor below. The Senate then abruptly went into recess.

Add to list
Days before former president Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial began, more than 100 former GOP officials reportedly hopped on a Zoom call. The topic: how to best rally whatever anti-Trump momentum is left in the party.
The talk on Friday, which Reuters reported included former elected Republicans and officials from the past four GOP administrations, touched on whether to launch a new center-right party, said Evan McMullin, the former chief policy director for the House Republican Conference, who co-hosted the call.
“Some people at the summit strongly favor starting a new party,” McMullin, who ran as an independent presidential candidate in 2016, told The Washington Post on Wednesday. “They think the GOP is irredeemable. They understand how difficult it is to form a new party, but they understand that there is no other choice.”

The call came as Trump maintains an enduring grip on the GOP even after his loss in November and incitement of a short-lived insurrection last month. A recent Post-ABC News poll found 56 percent of Republicans said Trump bears no responsibility for the Capitol attack, and a majority of Republicans said GOP leaders did not go far enough to back his baseless claims of fraud. Most GOP senators backed Trump by voting against moving forward with the trial.

Jul 18, 2020

The U.S. has secured 200 million more doses of the coronavirus vaccine, President Joe Biden announced Thursday, guaranteeing the country will have enough shots on hand for 300 million Americans by the end of July.

What You Need To KnowPresident Joe Biden announced Thursday that the U.S. has secured 200 million more doses of the coronavirus vaccine
The U.S. is now guaranteed 600 million doses from Pfizer and Moderna by the end of July, enough to vaccinate 300 million people.

In remarks at the NIH, Biden emphasized the safety of the vaccine and the necessity of continuing to wear masks
The president also shared a heartfelt "thank you" with NIH staff and called them the "best America has to offer"

Biden, who said last month that his administration was hoping to purchase more doses, made the announcement in remarks at the National Institutes of Health, where he thanked agency staff and was joined by Dr. Anthony Fauci and NIH Director Francis Collins.

The new agreements secure 100 million more doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 100 million more of the Moderna vaccine. That brings the expected U.S. supply to 600 millions doses, enough to vaccinate 300 million people total, since both vaccines require two rounds of shots.

“Now we’re working to get those vaccines into the arms of millions of people,” Biden said at the NIH on Thursday.

More than 46 million people have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine so far, according to a CDC tracker. Biden has made it a goal to vaccinate 100 million Americans in his first 100 days – and the U.S. is on pace to exceed that goal.

"Like I said before, that’s just the floor," Biden said. "Our end goal is beating COVID-19."

The federal government has increased its weekly distribution of shots since Biden took office, and more than 1.4 million Americans are now getting vaccinated each day, according to a seven-day average.

On Thursday, President Biden also stressed the safety of the vaccine and the need for Americans to get the shot when it becomes available to them.

"I got my shots. My wife Jill did, Kamala did and her husband Doug did," he said. "It’s safe. We need more people to get vaccinated to beat this pandemic."

Biden kept his mask on as he spoke to NIH employees Thursday, which he said was partly to send a "critically important" message that masks save lives. He normally takes it off for speaking events.

"The masking is still the easiest thing to do to save lives," Biden said. "I know it's a pain in the neck. But it’s a patriotic responsibility. We’re in the middle of a war with this virus.”

"It’s a patriotic responsibility," Biden repeated, raising his voice.

The president has challenged all Americans to wear masks for 100 days and has mandated them on federal property as well as for all domestic and international transportation.

Peggy Noonan: “The second impeachment trial of Donald Trump has been a rout for the pro-impeachment side. They made the case through time-stamped videos and close argumentation, and their timeline linked in an undeniable way the statements of the president on 1/6 and the actions of the rioters who stormed the Capitol. Democratic floor managers were at their best when they were direct, unadorned, and dealt crisply with information and data, as they did most of the time. They were less effective when they employed emotional tones to move the audience. Here is a truth: Facts make people feel. People are so unused to being given them. They’re grateful for the respect shown in an invitation to think.”

“Congress was riveted; journalists were riveted. Was America? Did it watch? We’ll find out the ratings and in time get a sense of what people felt was worth absorbing. Did the proceedings have the power to break through as anything other than a partisan effort? I don’t know, but I suspect so. In the pandemic people are glued to their screens. Nothing they saw—nothing—would make them admire Mr. Trump more.”

the drug manufacturers are already running at full capacity as the intent was always to vaccinate all 330 MILLION Americans anyway.

This isn't some big mystery

Cuomo didn't use the USNS Comfort or Javits Center because he didn't want Trump to get credit

He sent 9,000 infected patients into the nursing homes instead

Should be on trial, instead democrats and FAKE NEWS put him on a pedestal.

Senate GOP Sees Trial Ending Trump’s Chances In 2024

7:01 am
“Senate Republicans, including those who do not plan to vote to convict former President Trump, say this week’s impeachment trial has effectively ended any chance of him becoming the GOP presidential nominee in 2024,” The Hill reports.

“From the viewpoint of some Republican senators, the compelling case presented by House prosecutors carries a silver lining: It means they likely won’t have to worry about Trump running for president again in three years, while at the same time eroding his influence in party politics more generally.”

IN OTHER WORDS, THEY AGREE WITH ME:

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAD BETTER BE SAYING,
"THANK GOD WE WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HIM!ANYMORE!"
