When Hyperbole becomes amusing!

Opinion: The gutless Atlanta Braves put themselves on the wrong side of history

So a funny happened along the way to liberal cancel culture pushing the boundaries to senseless limits... the truth came out. While you still have "some" still lying about a reduction of voting hours that is actually an increase or demanding that food and drink is somehow banned in voting lines (apparently in just heavy black communities with lots of frail elderly people), most are having to dial it back to what the law actually does and then try to use not-so-clever rhetoric to maintain the original narrative.
Two key parts of the new restrictions gives the Republican-controlled state government the power to assert control over elections in Democratic counties. The new restrictions also limit how voters can receive food and drink within a certain vicinity of a voting location.
These are draconian tactics and astoundingly anti-democratic. They are un-American in every way. No American should want them.

Draconian measures? Establishing a state election board via state elections and making sure that only poll workers are interacting with the voters in line are "draconian measures"? In what world does this guy live in?

To be clear, Republican control over Democratic counties is nonsense. I wonder out loud if the same person believes that the Federal election law that Democrats are attempting to pass would be an attempt to assert Democratic control over Republican states? It would be entirely the same principle. But I doubt Mr. Freeman would take the same issue with that law.

The truth is that the Georgia law is simply starting to put common sense state-wide control over the election counting process that remains increasingly inconsistent and increasingly suspect. When the State of Georgia ended up with at least two large Democratic Counties counting votes in the middle of the night after sending home (mistakenly or not) their poll watchers, then you have a problem. When ballot counters in Democratic counties went into rooms, locked the doors, closed the blinds, so they could make judgements on contested ballots without witnesses, you have a problem.

These are (in fact) long-standing problem that probably should have been addressed a long time ago.

Every county should be maintaining some semblance of following one set guideline. That can only be done by having a state-wide election board (many of which will be elected positions).  To suggest that simply supervising people who have been accused of blatant cheating is un-American is silly. It reeks of people afraid that they will no longer be allowed to pull some of the shit that they used to pull and being angry about it.

The very fact that this Mike Freeman  (as a sports reporter) believes that Democracy means allowing unelected Democratic hacks continue to make up their own rules, and rejecting the idea that the people should be allowed to vote for an election board to oversee thing, shows us how ignorant and uninformed this person really is.

The new restrictions also limit how voters can receive food and drink within a certain vicinity of a voting location.

I do have to appreciate that critics are no longer suggesting dishonestly that people in line were banned from being given food or drink. But again, this Mike Freeman is apparently unaware of Federal laws that exist that makes it illegal for any campaigning, solicitation, or even implicit attempts to either lure voters to the polls with any sort of compensation. The fact that he believes that people who are not voting or are not poll workers have some sort of Democratic right to be interacting and talking to people waiting in line is probably just as ignorant and uninformed than thinking an elected election board is undemocratic.

Reality check: Voter advocacy groups don't have any right to be there and there is literally no good reason for them to be. Once accepted that food and drink will be allowed to be brought and handed out to people waiting in line, the issues of "how" that food is handed out should be entirely irrelevant. At least if the issue is really about protecting the people standing in line, rather than protecting the people who are looking to use food and drink to their own personal political advantage.

At the end of the day, the only things this law is attempting to suppress are the long standing widespread maneuvers used by Democrats during elections that have been skirting the existing laws, exploiting loopholes, and shielding themselves from oversight as means to maintain the very questionable behavior that led to all of the calls of cheating and fraud.

So rather than just demand that there is no cheating or fraud, why not make these elections consistent, fair, and most importantly transparent for everyone. Why continue to demand different rules for different counties and cling to the idea that local political activists should be the ones making the important decisions when it comes to our post election counting process? Why continue to press forward with questionable activities that everyone should understand are skirting if not outright breaking the laws.

Sorry, but following laws, having oversight, and making everyone play by the same rules is as American as apple pie. Or at least it was and still should be.

I heard numb nutz Kemp say it was easier to vote in Ga than in NY.........BWAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! How many 4 hour lines occur in NY because there are not enough voting machines......lying cocksucker!!!!!

Keep in mind that early voting is fairly new and pretty much every state had limited polling stations and workers because of Covid.

In my town I am generally in and out within 10-15 minutes. I waited nearly two hours this year in line due to consolidated polling stations and limited poll workers. And I am in a blue state.

Hey Lil Schiitty....you once again did not answer my fucking question....just some convoluted bullshit pictures!!!!! BTW....those are the exceptions if they really exist....to the lined that OCCUR in Ga every fucking year!!!!

BTW.....did you actually read the post piece?????? What went on in NY was growing pains for first time early voting!!!! ......Ga is not a first time problem but constant die to chronic shortage of workers and machines!!!! Sorry asshole but you lose again with your bullshit bias!!!!!!

Yeah Reverend...

If you really want to argue that there was not controversy and problems with the Georgia post election counting... be my guest. Counties were not "falsely" accused of counting ballots after sending home poll watchers, surveillance tape proved they did. They were not falsely accused of moving their operations behind closed doors and even closing curtains. Again, video evidence prove that they did.

You've made dumber arguments, but not many.

I still don't understand the problem with an election board that will be filled with primarily elected people to oversee how this process works. It seems to me that EVERYONE would be on board with having one consistent standard to decide things like disputed ballots and such. Not sure how you can argue that it's a better process to let local election officials (mostly political partisans) decide differently in every single county.

Not, unless, you want to see certain counties counting votes in the middle of the night when nobody is watching or unless you want to allow county election officials to hide themselves away from the poll watchers while they rule on disputed ballots.

Is that your argument, Reverend? That you support this action and are upset that it might have to end?

BWAAAAAAAA!!!!! The only controversy was the big trump lie and phone call to find 11 k votes!!!!! The votes were counted by R's, certified by R's END OF FUCKING STORY EXCEPT FOR MORONS FROM MINNESOTA who has an erroneous opinion !!!!!!!!!!! You really should move to Cuba and get the totalitarian regime you seem to crave!!!!!

The suspect in the death of a Capitol Police officer described himself on Facebook as a follower of Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, who has repeatedly promoted anti-Semitism.

The suspect, Noah R. Green, 25, was identified by two law enforcement officials and a congressional official. He was from Indiana and died after being shot by the Capitol Police.

On Facebook, Mr. Green had posted speeches and articles written by Mr. Farrakhan and Elijah Muhammad, who led the Nation of Islam from 1934 to 1975, that discussed the decline of America. Two law enforcement officials confirmed that the Facebook page, which was taken down on Friday, had belonged to Mr. Green.

Mr. Green posted on Facebook about his personal struggles, especially during the pandemic.

“To be honest, these past few years have been tough, and these past few months have been tougher,” he wrote. “I have been tried with some of the biggest, unimaginable tests in my life. I am currently now unemployed, after I left my job, partly due to afflictions.”

He also spoke on Facebook about the “end times” and the anti-Christ. On March 17, he posted a photo of a donation he had made to the Norfolk, Va., chapter of the Nation of Islam, along with a video of a Farrakhan speech titled “The Divine Destruction of America.”

Later that day, he encouraged his friends to join him in studying the teachings of Mr. Farrakhan and Mr. Muhammad.

Mr. Green was born in West Virginia, attended high school in Virginia, then enrolled in Glenville State College where he played football before transferring to Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. He played defensive back on the Christopher Newport football team and graduated in 2019 with a degree in finance.

In December 2020, he petitioned to change his name to Noah Zaeem Muhammad but failed to appear at his hearing in Indianapolis last Tuesday.

The Saturday Morning Joke

Donald Trump, George Bush and Joe Biden were set to face a firing squad in a small central American country.

Donald Trump was the first one placed against the wall and just before the order was given he yelled out "Earthquake". The firing squad fell into a panic and Donald Trump jumped over the wall and escaped during the confusion.

George Bush was the second one placed against the wall. The squad was reassembled and George pondered what he had just witnessed. Again before the order was given George yelled out "Tornado". Again the squad fell apart and George slipped over the wall.

The last person, Joe Biden, was placed against the wall. He was thinking, I see the pattern here, just scream out something about a disaster and hop over the wall. He confidently refused the blindfold as the firing squad was reassembled. As the rifles were raised in his direction, he grinned from ear to ear and yelled "Fire".

Major League Baseball has announced that they will no longer be requiring any form of valid ID for the purchase of alcohol at all games.

“We stand firm against racism and will never again require ID, and unfairly restrict people from purchasing alcohol,” said MLB spokesman Doug Wisacre. “Drinks are for everyone and hydration should always be easier to access, not harder!”

“Not everyone has the same level of access to acquiring an ID and we want to create an inclusive environment.” Mr. Wiseacre continued. “That’s why we will serve beer to all fans, no fuss no muss!”

In addition to not checking for ID, MLB is committing to no longer requiring locker room passes, or security badges which are harmful and unfairly discriminate against those who would want to enter restricted areas for nefarious reasons. They hope that this important step will provide more fairness and increase safety at all games.

At publishing time, MLB was already reconsidering not requiring ID as they are now under investigation for serving alcohol to thousands upon thousands of minors like the Democrats who want minors to vote!

How Trump Fleeced His Own Supporters

`:20 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard politicalwire.com
New York Times:
“Facing a cash crunch and getting badly outspent by the Democrats, the campaign had begun last September to set up recurring donations by default for online donors, for every week until the election. Contributors had to wade through a fine-print disclaimer and manually uncheck a box to opt out.

“As the election neared, the Trump team made that disclaimer increasingly opaque, an investigation by The New York Times showed. It introduced a second prechecked box, known internally as a ‘money bomb,’ that doubled a person’s contribution. Eventually its solicitations featured lines of text in bold and capital letters that overwhelmed the opt-out language.

“The tactic ensnared scores of unsuspecting Trump loyalists — retirees, military veterans, nurses and even experienced political operatives. Soon, banks and credit card companies were inundated with fraud complaints from the president’s own supporters about donations they had not intended to make, sometimes for thousands of dollars."

RE WHAT A BASTARD:
How Trump Steered Supporters Into Unwitting Donations
Online donors were guided into weekly recurring contributions. Demands for refunds spiked. Complaints to banks and credit card companies soared. But the money helped keep Donald Trump’s struggling campaign afloat.
_____________
Stacy Blatt was in hospice care last September listening to Rush Limbaugh’s dire warnings about how badly Donald J. Trump’s campaign needed money when he went online and chipped in everything he could: $500.

It was a big sum for a 63-year-old battling cancer and living in Kansas City on less than $1,000 per month. But that single contribution — federal records show it was his first ever — quickly multiplied. Another $500 was withdrawn the next day, then $500 the next week and every week through mid-October, without his knowledge — until Mr. Blatt’s bank account had been depleted and frozen. When his utility and rent payments bounced, he called his brother, Russell, for help.

What the Blatts soon discovered was $3,000 in withdrawals by the Trump campaign in less than 30 days. They called their bank and said they thought they were victims of fraud.

“It felt,” Russell said, “like it was a scam.”

But what the Blatts believed was duplicity was actually an intentional scheme to boost revenues by the Trump campaign and the for-profit company that processed its online donations, WinRed. Facing a cash crunch and getting badly outspent by the Democrats, the campaign had begun last September to set up recurring donations by default for online donors, for every week until the election.

Contributors had to wade through a fine-print disclaimer and manually uncheck a box to opt out.

As the election neared, the Trump team made that disclaimer increasingly opaque, an investigation by The New York Times showed. It introduced a second prechecked box, known internally as a “money bomb,” that doubled a person’s contribution. Eventually its solicitations featured lines of text in bold and capital letters that overwhelmed the opt-out language.

The tactic ensnared scores of unsuspecting Trump loyalists — retirees, military veterans, nurses and even experienced political operatives. Soon, banks and credit card companies were inundated with fraud complaints from the president’s own supporters about donations they had not intended to make, sometimes for thousands of dollars.

“Bandits!” said Victor Amelino, a 78-year-old Californian, who made a $990 online donation to Mr. Trump in early September via WinRed. It recurred seven more times — adding up to almost $8,000. “I’m retired. I can’t afford to pay all that damn money.”

The sheer magnitude of the money involved is staggering for politics. In the final two and a half months of 2020, the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee and their shared accounts issued more than 530,000 refunds worth $64.3 million to online donors. All campaigns make refunds for various reasons, including to people who give more than the legal limit. But the sum the Trump operation refunded dwarfed that of Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s campaign and his equivalent Democratic committees, which made 37,000 online refunds totaling $5.6 million in that time.

The recurring donations swelled Mr. Trump’s treasury in September and October, just as his finances were deteriorating. He was then able to use tens of millions of dollars he raised after the election, under the guise of fighting his unfounded fraud claims, to help cover the refunds he owed.

Another change that was proposed last year and is now law would require large polling places with long lines to take action if wait times surpass an hour at certain times during the day. Those massive polls with more than 2,000 voters and wait times longer than an hour would have to hire more staff, add more workers or split up the precinct after that election. More than 1,500 of Georgia's precincts have over 2,000 voters.
