The sad reality of Jan 6th

Regime vs. Regime
In the Washington Post, the Justice Department explained why the words of its indictments of those it claims trespassed on the Capitol will not result in the severe prison sentences they imply. Those words try to fit acts prima facie of mostly peaceful protest into the Democratic Party’s and associated oligarchy’s narrative of “armed insurrection against our democracy.” But in the Post story these “legal experts” mention regretfully that, their best efforts notwithstanding, what remains of the U.S. legal system cannot wholly erase the fact that “trespassing is still only trespassing, even in the U.S. Capitol,” and that “a misdemeanor is still only a misdemeanor.” Drat, still!
Nevertheless, these prosecutors and friendly experts fill most of the article with how they combine unlimited pretrial detention under harsh circumstances and limitation of legal assistance to press the accused to accept maximum penalties and to forgo bringing cases to juries.

An armed insurrection needs a few of important things to be an armed insurrection. First and foremost it needs the people within the insurrection to be armed. Secondly, it requires that the people involved have an active plan to rebel against the Government for a very specific political purpose of defiance and possible overthrow. Lastly, insurgencies are generally a long-term revolt with long term plans that are accomplishing a particular political goal.

A few hundred people breaking off from a peaceful rally and storming a Government building does not an insurrection, an insurgence, a political revote, or a violent coup make. We have seen people breaking off from peaceful rallies/protests to challenge police authority or to attack a government building more times than we can count over the past two years and none of them are insurrection or insurgencies.

So to be clear. The people who stormed the capital building were not armed. It cannot be an armed insurrection without arms. These people were not organized and there was no central plan in place that can be found. There is no insurrection without a plan. There has been no conspiracy or insurgency group actively following up on the events of Jan 6th. No long term plans. No actual group that can be identified as the insurgents or any leadership of any sort.

On the flip side, BLM/Antifa attacking police or other Government buildings have been armed. They have been organized and planned. Generally on Facebook or Twitter. They continue to exist as a group and continue to plan attacks. The same people participate over and over and over for their so called "cause". There is even known leadership. Yet nobody demands that these riots should be labeled as an insurrection or that BLM/Antifa is an insurgency.

But here is the logical rub.

Those who want to claim that Jan 6th was an armed insurrection use the term as if it is describing a bunch of people looking to overthrown the Government. But when you break it down to the semantics,  they will tell you that any "rise up against authority" is an insurrection. However, when pressed they will still try to argue that such a definition does not apply to BLM or Antifa riots without really offering a reason why other than the argument that they personally do not agree with the anger associated with Jan 6th, but that they agree with the anger associated with BLM/Antifa.

Here is a little check box for you - which Group:

  • Is a known group with organization and leadership
  • Has a known set of propaganda or goals
  • Has had multiple preplanned events
  • Has been armed
  • Has the same people joining multiple riots or protests
Which ever group fits these criteria is more likely to be considered an actual insurgency responsible for any insurrections.

Guest Column –
By Robert Reich –

America prefers to look forward rather than back. We’re a land of second acts. We move on.

This can be a strength. We don’t get bogged down in outmoded traditions, old grudges, obsolete ways of thinking. We constantly reinvent. We love innovation and disruption.

The downside is a collective amnesia about what we’ve been though, and a corresponding reluctance to do anything about it or hold anyone accountable.

Now, with Covid receding and the economy starting to rebound – and the 2020 election and the attack on the Capitol behind us – the future looks bright.

But at the risk of being the skunk at the picnic, let me remind you:

We have lost more than 580,000 people to COVID-19. One big reason that number is so high is our former president lied about the virus and ordered his administration to minimize its danger.

He also lied about the results of the last election. And then – you remember, don’t you? – he tried to overturn the results.

He twisted the arms of state election officials. He held a rally to stop Congress from certifying the election, followed by the violent attack on the Capitol. Five people died. Senators and representatives could have been slaughtered.

Several Republican members of Congress joined him in the big lie and refused to certify the election. They thereby encouraged the attempted coup.

This was just over four months ago, yet we seem to be doing everything we can to blot it out of our collective memory.

Last Tuesday, the Washington Post hosted a live video chat with Missouri Republican senator Josh Hawley, a ringleader in the attempt to overturn the results of the election. Hawley had even made a fist-pump gesture toward the mob at the Capitol before they attacked.

But the Post billed the interview as being about Hawley’s new book on the “tyranny of big tech.” It even posted a biography of Hawley that made no mention of Hawley’s sedition, referring instead to his supposed reputation “for taking on the big and the powerful to protect Missouri workers,” and as “a fierce defender of the Constitution.”

Last week, “CBS This Morning” interviewed Florida Republican senator Rick Scott, another of the senators who tried to overturn the election by not certifying the results. But there was no mention of any of his sedition. The CBS interviewer confined his questions to Biden’s spending plans, which Scott unsurprisingly opposed.

Senators Ted Cruz and Ron Johnson, and House minority leader Kevin McCarthy also repeatedly appear on major news programs without being questioned about their attempts to undo the results of the election.

What possible excuse is there for booking them if they have not publicly retracted their election lies? At the least, if they must appear, ask them if they continue to deny the election results and precisely why.

Pretending nothing happened promotes America’s dangerous amnesia, which invites more attempts to distort the truth.

Trump is consolidating his power over the Republican Party, based on his big lie. The GOP is about to purge one of its leaders, Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney, for telling the truth.

The big lie is being used by Republican state legislatures to justify new laws to restrict voting. On Thursday, hours after Florida installed a rash of new voting restrictions, Texas’s Republican-led Legislature pushed ahead with its a bill that would make it one of the hardest states in which to cast a ballot.

The Republican-controlled Arizona senate is mounting a private recount of the 2020 presidential election results in Maricopa County – farming out 2.1 million ballots to GOP partisans, including at least one who participated in the January 6 raid on the Capitol.

Last Monday, Trump even lied about his big lie, issuing a “proclamation” to co-opt the language of those criticizing the lie. “The Fraudulent Presidential Election of 2020 will be, from this day forth, known as the BIG LIE!” he wrote.

Most Republican voters believe him.

It is natural to want to put all this unpleasantness behind us. We are finally turning the corner on the pandemic and the economy.

Why look back to the trauma of the 2020 election? Because we cannot put it behind us. Trump’s big lie and all that it has provoked are still with us. If we forget what has occurred the trauma will return, perhaps in even more terrifying form.

Many Republicans agreed to be on board with an investigation as long as it encompassed all of the riots and violent protests over the past couple of years.

Why are Democrats open hypocrites who demand that only one out of hundreds of riots should be investigated?

Thank you Roger for proving my point!

You quite literally are admitting that if you agree with the reasons (in this case George Floyd) that violent rioting causing billions in damage and injuring hundreds of cops initiated by armed organized groups...

Is perfectly acceptable and not any sort of insurrection.

But if you disagree with the underlying reasons (Election fraud) that an non-violent non-armed one time event where a few hundred people basically trespassed.

Makes you clutch your pearls and you cannot rest until everyone associated is drawn and quartered!

Timely post. I had the exact same conversation with a liberal doctor friend of mine this morning. He started in with the "worst event in the history of the known universe" bullshit, so I asked him to show me the charges of insurrection, treason, or sedition against ANY of those apprehended so far.

I went on to point out that not a single weapon has been recovered from a trespasser, and the only homicide that occurred was at the hands of a Capitol cop. Furthermore, over 14,000 hours of potentially exculpatory video has NOT been made available to defense counsel, and many are being held indefinitely in solitary confinement for nothing more than trespass.

Jan. 6 is going down as one of the democrats 'greatest lies ever told.'

Reverend...

When talking about actual real national security and criminal issues facing our country... I don't believe that politics or which side we "focus" on should be the concern.

If your concern is rioting, attacking Federal buildings, and such. Then you need to investigate all instances of that. There is literally ZERO justification for singling out one form of protest or riot over another because you agree or disagree with the cause.

I have zero issues with our Government doing an OBJECTIVE investigation into rioting and the rise of violent demonstrations in our Country. You seem to forget that I lived rioting in my metro area. I had people rioting and demonstrating within a mile of two of where my son was working.

But if you are going to tell me that rioting, looting, assault, destruction, terror, and everything else is okay if it happens in the name of BLM or Antifa and that the safety of my son and my family and friends matters not at all...

and that you don't want it investigated because it as you stated "obscures the fact that the Capital riots was linked to a President"...

Then that is not an objective investigation.

It's a politically targeted one that you admit is designed specifically to focus on Trump and what you demand are his "lies" and that any attempt to be objective "obscures" that.

You cannot deny what you said... and in my mind (as someone directly affected by riots) you cannot defend it either.

We need accountability. To get it we need an independent commission, and a vote against it is a vote for a coverup. There is a great deal about the events of January 6th that remains blurry or contested, from how supporters of Donald Trump listening to him speak at a rally that day were channelled into a militia-like mob to the response at the Pentagon. The aim of the assault was a disruption of the electoral-vote tally—which could also be described as an attempted coup.

If the investigation leads to the same thing as Benedict Arnold, he could be put to death.

Sen. Ted Cruz criticized the U.S. military for being “emasculated” compared to the Russian military in a tweet on Thursday…

“Research tells us that young people today see the Army as a ‘distant star’ — a place requiring a nearly superhuman level of discipline with little relevance to their daily lives,” Maj. Gen. Alex Fink, Chief of Army Enterprise Marketing, said in a statement about the campaign when it was announced. “Similarly, youth don’t necessarily connect with those who serve or see common ground in terms of interests, abilities, and goals. ‘The Calling’ shatters these misperceptions by showing that soldiers are all of us: real people with hopes, dreams, fears, aspirations, families, friends, and obstacles to overcome.”

Cruz’s tweet sparked some outrage on Thursday.

“Ted Cruz attacks a US Army soldier for telling her story, says he prefers Russians. Because Ted Cruz is a sedition-loving traitor,” VoteVets, a progressive political group, tweeted.

“The U.S. military is second to none. Please keep it out of your political theater,” tweeted Lt. Col. and another of their biggest lies was the Russia/Trump collusion hoax.

And they managed to keep that going for years with the help of a lapdog press, big tech, and partisan political lies by the like of Adam Schiff and supposed anonymous sources.

Now with the Jan 6th "insurrection" hoax they want to run the same playbook

Not only NO, HELL NO.

but if they really want to advance the truth of Jan 6th they can release the known name of the officer who murdered Babbitt, his background and why he considered an unarmed woman who was not an imminent threat a justified target without a verbal warning. Maybe release his body cam video if it exists.

Maybe Nancy can appear under oath and testify why the Capital Police who are under her, were not prepared. Why she turned down requests for additional security. Why she named such a partisan to do the initial investigation? And why protesters are rounded up from around the country and put in solitary.

Maybe she should be put in solitary until she testifies.

And also why access has not been given to trespassers defense (and public) of the many thousands of hours of exculpatory video ?

And why. as CHT points out, she labels it with the inflammatory term of "insurrection" without any arms, organized plot or real evidence.

Smells a lot like the pee video Hillary indirectly paid a Russian to make up.

Russian army ad vs US army ad 2021

Video Comparing Russian Army vs U.S. Army Ads Viewed Over 800k Times

Social media users have mocked the U.S. Army's new recruitment campaign, with some noting stark differences between it and an advertisement for Russia's military.

A video has combined Russian and American recruitment campaigns which, side by side, highlight markedly different tones being struck. The video has been widely shared on social media and appears to have been first posted on Monday on TikTok by the user thoughtcrimes_.

To dramatic music, the video, which appears to have been edited down, starts with a soldier waking up in a barracks while the Russian male narrator says: "Your new life. What do you know about yourself and what are you capable of?"

Using visual grammar that builds tension, the darkly lit video contains a series of jump cuts of guns being loaded, personnel jumping out of aircraft and soldiers on a battlefield.

With an air of menace, the narrator intones "find out what the limits of your potential is," adding "to hell with limits," followed by "there is no victory without battles."

The video then segues into a far more brightly lit U.S. recruitment video which is part of the Army's new recruitment campaign, "with a series of animation videos collectively named "The Calling," about five different service members.

In it, Cpl. Emma Malonelord, for instance, describes how she was born in California and was "raised by two moms."

"I also marched for equality. I like to think I've been defending freedom from an early age," she said in the edited video which is partly animated, adding that after meeting an army recruiter she had found "a way to prove my inner strength."

The video drew criticism in some quarters with user Pardes Seleh tweeting the video and adding the message: "Russian army vs U.S. army." In a follow-up tweet, Seleh compared the hulk of the Russian soldier with a cartoon image of a woman, saying "Pick your fighter."

As of Thursday, the video was viewed more than 800,000 times and sparked a lively discussion among users on Twitter.

A week after Oath Keepers leader Stewart Rhodes publicly urged then-President Donald Trump to “strike now” and invoke the Insurrection Act rather than conceding the 2020 election, Rhodes was invited to a meeting said to involve “multiple patriot groups” preparing for the Jan. 6 Trump rally in Washington, D.C., federal prosecutors alleged this week.

In charging papers unsealed Thursday, prosecutors said Rhodes later added the man who invited him to the meeting, James Breheny, to a messaging group that members of the Oath Keepers allegedly used to coordinate their actions during the attack itself. Several members of the far-right militia group now face heavy federal charges for their actions that day.

Breheny entered the Capitol during the attack and bragged about it to contacts in his cell phone, prosecutors alleged. He’s charged with entering a restricting building and impeding an official proceeding, among other offenses.

Rhodes has not been charged with a crime, and the Oath Keepers leader has consistently denied wrongdoing, but the federal evidence cited against Breheny offers more tantalizing glimpses of possible pre-planning for the attack on Congress.

According to an FBI agent’s affidavit in Breheny’s case, Breheny invited Rhodes to the meeting on Dec. 21, a week after Rhodes — who’s referred to as Person One in charging documents — implored Trump in an open letter, “If you fail to act while you are still in office, we the people will have to fight a bloody civil war and revolution against these two illegitimate Communist Chinese puppets, and their illegitimate regime.”

The affidavit quoted a description Breheny forwarded Rhodes of the planned meeting, which was allegedly set to take place on Jan. 3, the Sunday before the rally, in Quarryville, Pennsylvania.

“This will be the day we get our comms on point with multiple other patriot groups, share rally points etc.,” the description read, according to the court papers. “This one is important and I believe this is our last chance to organize before the show. This meeting will be for leaders only.”

Breheny allegedly told Rhodes of the planned meeting, “No cell phones. Need to be Faraday bag prior to site.” Faraday bags, the FBI noted, are containers used to prevent remote observation of cell phones.

Breheny initially told law enforcement that he did not willfully enter the Capitol, but rather that he was pushed inside by a surge of people, according to the affidavit.

But the feds allege that video footage showed that “He entered willfully and was not pushed into the Capitol,” contrary to what he initially claimed. Several texts quoted in the affidavit show Breheny telling contacts that he “Made it in!” and “I have to clear chats.”

Indeed, prosecutors allege that Breheny altered records with the intent to impair their availability for use in an official proceeding; specifically, the FBI affidavit asserts he deleted his social media account to avoid detection. An account associated with Breheny’s cell phone was deactivated two days after the attack, the affidavit alleged.

Rhodes’ presence has loomed over the Capitol attack case, even as he has not been charged with a crime: The chat group to which he allegedly added Breheny, “DC Op: Jan 6 21” was used by Rhodes and several Oath Keepers who were charged in the attack, prosecutors have said on multiple occasions. At one point during the attack, Rhodes allegedly messaged the group, “South side of the US Capitol. Patriots pounding on doors.”

In March, Rhodes told a rally crowd in Texas that the Oath Keepers were not in D.C. on Jan. 6 to attack Congress, but rather to protect Trump supporters from anti-fascists.

“If we actually intended to take over the Capitol, we’d have taken it, and we’d have brought guns,” he said.

Capitol Rioters Not Willing to Take Plea Deals

Reuters: “Nearly four months after the U.S. Capitol attack, just one of more than 440 people charged has pleaded guilty, a sign of tough conditions set by prosecutors for plea deals and resistance by defense lawyers to their demands.”

“Lawyers for more than a dozen defendants said plea talks so far have foundered because prosecutors demanded their clients turn over social media data, cell phones and other evidence, while also pushing for prison sentences they would not accept.”

What are they being charged with?

Only trespassing?

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Jon Schaffer, 53, a member of the Oath Keepers militia group, pleaded guilty to two charges - obstruction of an official proceeding and entering a restricted building with a dangerous weapon.

Schaffer, who is also a heavy metal guitarist in the band Iced Earth, had originally faced six charges including using a chemical irritant designed for grizzly bears on police officers during clashes.

He turned himself to FBI agents in Indiana two weeks after his arrest, and after a photo of him inside the Capitol wearing a hat reading "Oath Keepers Lifetime Member" appeared on the front pages of US newspapers.

He is facing 30 years in prison and is expected to co-operate with investigators.

How many arrests so far?
The suspects in the Capitol riot are a varied group: they include an ousted West Virginia lawmaker, several police officers and a left-wing activist from Utah.

Most of the rioters were allowed to leave the crime scene, forcing investigators to conduct a national manhunt for the pro-Trump crowd that stormed the halls of Congress.

Investigators for the District of Columbia says they have identified over 540 suspects and charged some 400 people in connection with the Capitol siege.

Just weeks after the rampage in January, FBI officials said they had already been inundated with 140,000 videos and photos from members of the public.

Officials say they are considering filing serious charges of seditious activity against some individuals who were involved in the siege on the Capitol.

According to federal criminal code, seditious conspiracy means an effort to conspire to overthrow the US government. The punishment is severe: up to 20 years in prison.

It’s time to bid farewell to the MSM coverage of anti-Asian violence. It was juicy while it lasted. The race-baiters in the lefty media saw what they thought was an opportunity to bash Donald Trump yet again by trying to link anti-Asian hate crimes to the former president’s use of the phrase “China virus” in regards to COVID-19. Liberal news rushed and gushed to suggest Trump’s words had stirred up a bunch of white supremacists in MAGA hats, driving pick-up trucks with huge Dixie flags all the way from Georgia to San Francisco for the thrill of punching an elderly Asian woman. Yee-HA!

Bad news for CNN. It turns out most of the attacks are not committed by toothless goobers but by black people. Some folks just aren’t comfortable talking about that inconvenient truth and that’s not new.

A 2008 survey in San Francisco found that 85% of strong-arm robberies against Asian women were committed by black men. The same article suggests the police weren’t exactly eager to address the role of race in these attacks.

Nine years and hundreds of attacks later, the big-wigs working for San Francisco’s Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) refused to release videos of subway violence to “avoid racial stereotyping of suspects.”

A leaked BART memo stated, “Disproportionate elevation of crimes on transit interfaces with local media in such a way to unfairly affect and characterize riders of color, leading to sweeping generalizations in media reports and a high level of racially insensitive commentary directed toward the District through our social media channels, email, and call centers.” San Francisco is a beehive of anti-Asian crime.

Sorry, Asian people. Black crime will not be discussed in the news. Call it #blackprivilege.

Lefty news did succeed in making people think the recent anti-Asian violence was caused by redneck Trump supporters. To the point that an Asian man decided to rape a white woman in an act of revenge. Then came the videos where we could see the attackers. Oops.

You can look up the charges for yourself Reverend. I have provided the website as reference on several occasions.

Why do you suppose out of the 400 people charged that only one has taken a plea deal? Do you suppose everyone but one person is a moron and that the attorneys representing them are idiots?

Seems to me that the prosecution in this case is trying to bully people into accepting pleas and prison sentences that are going to be unreasonable for misdemeanor charges for people with no criminal record.

They might be able to convince a DC Jury pool to convict. But to get a Judge to give people jail time for misdemeanor charges where the guidelines are fines or probation.

I think the state (not the 400 people) are the ones misreading the situation.

Ceasefire
Jeremy Ben-Ami, J Street (info@jstreet.org)

After 11 days of intense conflict, families in Gaza and Israel will have their first full night uninterrupted by rockets, sirens and explosions. We take this moment to be thankful, particularly to the diplomats who worked tirelessly to reach a ceasefire agreement.

But we must also recognize that this cycle of violence and injustice did not start with the volley of Hamas rockets two weeks ago -- and it will not end now that a ceasefire has been reached.

A 15-year-old in Gaza has now lived through six major conflicts with Israel, enduring the anguish of friends and family being killed and injured, homes and schools destroyed.
A 15-year-old Israeli has lived through thousands of indiscriminate Hamas rocket attacks, sleeping weeks on end in bomb shelters, running in fear whenever rocket sirens pierce the air.

We must also remember that for too many families, the trauma has not ended. Hundreds of families in Gaza and Israel are left mourning the loss of loved ones, too many of them children. Thousands are now homeless; critical infrastructure has been destroyed.

This is an intolerable status quo. We must commit to ending it.

The United States rightly supports Israel’s right to defend its citizens from terror. But repeating the mantra of “the right to self-defense” cannot be the beginning and end of this conversation. Military strength alone can never bring lasting peace to a conflict that is political at its root.

As this latest escalation has shown all too clearly -- from injustice in East Jerusalem to violence on the Temple Mount to abhorrent, indiscriminate rocket attacks from Hamas -- the rights of both Israelis and Palestinians to live in freedom and security are inextricably linked. Neither people can be truly safe or free while the other faces violence and injustice.

Now that we have reached a ceasefire, the United States must commit to pursuing a balanced, even-handed approach to end the cycle of injustice, retaliation and violence for good. Israeli AND Palestinian lives matter. It’s time for US foreign policy to reflect that.

At J Street, we’re calling for a fundamental reset of the Israel-US relationship, a renewed commitment to the rights of both Israelis AND Palestinians, and an end to the unrestricted “blank check” to Netanyahu’s far-right government.

In a moment, I want to speak about where we go from here....
For the first time in Washington, an overwhelming majority of Democrats spoke out publicly to call for a ceasefire and press the White House to do more. Members of Congress stated loudly and clearly -- on the floor of both the House and Senate -- that both Israeli AND Palestinian lives matter, calling out the intolerable reign of terror from Hamas and the worsening injustices of occupation.

The growing pressure from our community and from Congress was unmistakable. From the New York Times to the Washington Post, CNN to MSNBC to social media, the tectonic shift on the politics of this issue was clear. This change is both deeply welcome and long-overdue.

As this moment has demonstrated, the United States cannot take a “hands off” approach to this conflict nor ignore the deteriorating status quo. There is a clear and powerful desire among voters, and within the Democratic Party, for real, decisive leadership and a fundamental reset of the US-Israel relationship.

In the immediate term, the United States must commit to leading international efforts to repair infrastructure and rebuild homes, schools and hospitals in Gaza. The humanitarian situation in Gaza is appalling, fostering suffering that only empowers Hamas and other extremists.

In the longer term, we must commit to leveraging our relationships with Israel, Egypt and others to find a sustainable end to the current restrictions -- a solution which disarms Hamas and grants freedom of movement and trade to the 2 million residents of Gaza.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

We must also recognize that too often, the United States has enabled this conflict to get worse, not better. Too often we have shielded the Netanyahu government from criticism and excused the far-right settlement movement -- all while sidelining the legitimate rights of millions of Palestinians to freedom and self-determination.

This status quo is catastrophic not just for Palestinians, but for Israelis themselves. Thousands of young Israelis are put in the line of fire every year, called upon to defend unlawful settlements on occupied territory and to fight a war in Gaza with no long-term strategy for peace. With every new Israeli settlement and every demolition of a Palestinian home, the dream of Israel as a proud, peaceful and democratic homeland for the Jewish people slips further from view.

This must change.

As Israel’s closest ally, America must ensure that we live up to our global commitment to peace, human rights and international law -- and to our vision of a just, peaceful and democratic future for Israel.

*We must appoint a senior-level Special Envoy to direct and coordinate US policy related to the conflict. The envoy’s mandate should be to actively address the underlying causes of the conflict and to help uphold the rights of both Israelis and Palestinians to peace, justice and self-determination.
*We must reverse destructive steps taken by Trump. This includes making clear that settlement activity on occupied territory is a damaging violation of international law, and reopening the Palestinian mission in Washington and the US consulate in East Jerusalem.
*We must enact transparency measures and safeguards to ensure our full level of aid to Israel can only be used for legitimate defensive purposes. We cannot allow US military aid to be diverted to support demolitions, evictions and de facto annexation.
*We must end the practice of reflexively insulating the Israeli government from fair and legitimate criticism in international fora -- including at the UN Security Council.

If we do not chart a new course, the daily injustices facing Palestinians and the security threats facing Israelis will continue. New escalations will bring more grief, pain and anguish to families on each side. This can and must be changed.

As the past few weeks have shown, there has been a transformational shift in the politics of our issue -- the culmination of years of dedicated advocacy in the halls of Congress, on campaigns and in communities across the country.

There is a path forward toward real change -- but only if we continue to push for it.

Thank you for your support.

In a recent interview, Dr. Scott Atlas, a radiologist and a former White House health care policy adviser, explained how lockdowns hurt low-income and minority families the most. He said lockdowns were not only a “heinous abuse of power,” but they also failed to protect the elderly.

“There was a frenzy that took over out of fear and out of a lack of leadership by the faces of public health to put things into context, into perspective and to recognize right away what the consequences of these lockdowns would be,” Dr. Atlas stated.

He stressed that the lockdowns were not necessary, yet medical bureaucrats insisted on extreme measures without sufficient scientific evidence.

“The goal shifted of the people giving the advice both at the federal level and throughout the country,” he continued. “It shifted from stopping hospitals from being over crowded to stopping cases.”

The doctor went on to say medical officials were not honest with the public about their knowledge of how to handle the virus by saying it’s a “novel disease.”

His statements came after both Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich.) were criticized for how they handled COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes. One Michigan resident, who recently lost both of her parents, criticized Whitmer’s policies while pointing out that they forbid her from seeing her parents in their final moments.

“They faced life’s adversities with optimism and perseverance only to suffer the last months of their lives due to these egregious anti family policies,” said Michigander Kim Galdis.

While working in the White House as a senior advisor to President Trump, Dr. Atlas pushed to lift lockdown policies and has vowed to continue doing so.

Enlistees wanting to serve in the Navy's nuclear operations field must be U.S. citizens and not older than age 25 at the time of enlistment. Additionally, enlistees desiring Navy nuclear power training must possess high school diplomas and have had at least one year of algebra while in high school. All Navy nuclear power program hopefuls must also be able to meet strict physical and security clearance requirements.

Test Score Requirements

Before enlisting in the military you must take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. Hopeful Navy nuclear power training enlisted candidates must score high on various sections of the ASVAB to be selected for nuclear power training. If you don't score high on your ASVAB but still want to try for nuclear power training you can take the Navy Advanced Programs Test. Egypt Played Central Role in Israeli-Palestinian Cease-FireOfficials in Washington and Cairo had been in constant contact over the past week in an effort to stop the hostilities

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi allocated $500 million in aid for Gaza.

By

Vivian Salama in Washington and Jared Malsinin Amman,in Jordan

May 21, 2021 7:24 pm

Egypt played a critical role in brokering a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, a development that officials hope will lead to closer ties with the Biden administration, which up until now had been cool to Cairo over its human-rights record.

Hours before Thursday’s statement that a cease-fire had been reached, President Biden held his first phone call with Egypt’s president, Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, and the two discussed efforts to de-escalate the conflict, according to readouts from both of their offices.

Mr. Biden extended his “sincere gratitude to President Al Sisi and the senior Egyptian officials who played a critical role in this diplomacy” in his White House address on Thursday. The State Department also announced that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to the region.

Officials in Washington and Cairo had been in constant contact over the past week in the hope that Egypt might exert its influence with Hamas’s leadership to bring an end to the conflict, Western and Egyptian officials said.

American "Greatness" is fake news robotics champion

More than 400 people have been charged in relation to the Jan. 6 events at the U.S. Capitol, and there is ample evidence that many protesters defied and assaulted Capitol Police officers that day. Yet viral social media posts are falsely claiming a video clip proves that “Capitol Police gave protesters OK” to enter the building. The video clip does not depict that.

The Democrat-controlled House, with support from 35 Republicans, voted on May 19 to create a commission to probe the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol — though Republican resistance in the Senate may block the bill from passing.

As political fighting over that inquiry continues, and federal authorities move forward with their criminal investigation, unsupported claims about the events persist online.

One recent, widespread narrative falsely alleges that a new video clip depicts police officers granting protesters permission to enter the Capitol. But the footage in question does not show that.

A May 16 story on the website American Greatness — headlined, “Video Shows U.S. Capitol Police Gave Protesters OK to Enter” — was shared on Facebook more than 7,000 times, according to CrowdTangle analytics data.

The Gateway Pundit, a hub for misinformation, rehashed the claim in a story shared on Facebook about 1,600 times and repeated it in an Instagram post viewed more than 111,000 times. A radio show in Texas, “Walton & Johnson,” ran a similar May 18 headline.

The American Greatness story cites a 44-second video clip, which the
website uploaded to Rumble, that was taken outside the Senate chambers of the Capitol. It shows a police officer, identified as Keith Robishaw, engaging with a group of protesters — who, we note, are shown already inside the Capitol building.

The article says that Robishaw “appears to tell” the “group they won’t stop them from entering the building.” But nowhere in the video clip does Robishaw say that.

The clip shows a man telling fellow protesters that “police here are willing to work with us and cooperate peacefully like our First Amendment allows,” and encourages the group to be peaceful. It soon moves to Robishaw urging the protesters to remain calm.

“We’re not against … you need to show … then show us, no attacking, no assault, remain calm,” Robishaw can be heard saying.

U.S. Capitol Police in an email statement to us denied that the clip showed anything inappropriate.

“There is no evidence of misconduct in the short video clip,” the statement said. “The officers are blocking the hallway and attempting to de-escalate the situation, as they are trained to, by telling the crowd to not attack or assault and to remain calm. The Department is working closely with its federal law enforcement officers to ensure the criminals who unlawfully broke into the U.S. [Capitol] during the Joint Session of Congress are successfully prosecuted.”

The viral claim also fails to acknowledge the ample public evidence — including videos released by the FBI — documenting protesters violently assaulting officers at the Capitol, as law enforcement tried to prevent rioters from accessing parts of the building. Other footage show rioters breaking through a metal barrier outside the Capitol, as officers tried to hold it in place. Rioters were also captured on video breaking windows of the building to enter.

The Justice Department has reported that about 140 officers were assaulted that day — about 80 Capitol Police officers and 60 D.C. Metropolitan Police Department officers.
More than 400 people have so far been arrested in relation to the Jan. 6 events, and nearly 90 were arrested for assaulting law enforcement officers, according to the FBI.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Some protesters and their lawyers have argued that some officers gave up or stood by during the riot, and that protesters thought they were allowed to be there. Whether any defendants can effectively make that case isn’t clear, but as we said, this particular clip doesn’t prove the protesters were simply given permission to enter the building.

In its article, American Greatness reported that it “obtained the video from RMG News” and that the “44-second clip is reportedly part of a much longer video that has yet to be released.”

We reached out to RMG News — which describes itself as providing “adrenaline-filled, breaking news footage” to media outlets — for more context on the video clip.

Howard Raishbrook, the agency’s president, told us in an email that it “often syndicates content given to us by freelance photographers and videographers. This was the case with the Capitol footage from January the 6th.”

Raishbrook said the agency didn’t have anyone at the Capitol on its behalf, but that it accrued “81 minutes of content that HAS been released and seen by all network news stations. A lot of people have seen the content, paid for it, published it, aired it or discussed it around the world.”

He said “ALL footage has been released. We are not holding anything back” — though he noted that the agency’s “entire content is not online anywhere.” He declined to provide us the name of the person who gave his agency the specific footage in question.

In a video posted to YouTube by RMG News on Jan. 7, different footage from the same area of the Capitol shows protesters yelling at the same officers.

One protester asks an officer, “What’s the point of stopping us at this point?” That officer responds, “That’s as far as it’s going to go.”

What a fucking joke American Greatness is

Racism:

Racism   [archaic and rarely used in this sense today] the harboring, exhibition or embodiment in practices of ungrounded views or beliefs that some racial groups are inferior or superior to others in various ways

Racisma generalized term of derision commonly used in a manner similar to how terms such as “jerk” or “scoundrel” might have been employed in earlier epochs

Racism a label deployed in order to ostracize or as a prelude to a ritualized ostracism, roughly analogous to “witch” during the Salem witch trials

Racism a rallying cry used to muster support for Democratic Party candidates or policies, especially for candidates or policies that stand against the interests of poor and working class Americans; also, the central tenet of contemporary Democratic Party politics that is most often deployed ironically, that is, to refer to anything and everything as “racism” or “racist” in order to institute “corrective” practices or policies that are, in reality, far closer to the traditional notion of “racism” than the practices or policies that they seek to correct; see also anti-racism

Racism   a fail-safe retort that may be strategically deployed to stifle disagreement or shut down debate, especially when it is a debate one is losing      a label for the emotion of BIPOC individuals when their feelings are hurt

Racism a word news media companies with a shrinking audience, such as CNN or the New York Times, can and should throw around frequently and indiscriminately to drum up controversy and create fleeting spikes in viewership and/or readership to stave off their inevitable sell-offs and bankruptcies

Racism   a false charge to be publicly leveled at in-laws (ideally, during softball interviews with Oprah) by wealthy, privileged, status-seeking, profiteering, half-BIPOC C-list actresses who marry into the British royal family but find themselves, due to their thoroughgoing narcissism, unable to get along with others, whether their own family or their new in-laws, especially when said actresses become upset and disenchanted with the whole “royal” thing upon discovering that her husband likely will never become King.

By perpetuating the narrative that America is fundamentally evil, steeping children in race theory, and lionizing the Portland rioters, they have consciously pushed students in the direction of race-based “revolution.” In the language of the Left, the political education programs in Portland-area districts constitute a “school-to-radicalism pipeline”: a training ground for child soldiers. This is not hyperbole: some of the most active and violent anarchist groups in Portland are run by teenagers, and dozens of minors were arrested during last year’s riots. These groups have taken up the mantle of climate change, anticapitalism, antifascism, and Black Lives Matter—whatever provides a pretext for violent “direct action.”

Contrary to those who believed that the end of the Trump presidency would bring a “return to normalcy,” the social and political revolution in Portland has only accelerated under President Joe Biden. On Inauguration Day, teenage radicals marched through southeast Portland, smashing the office windows of the state Democratic Party and unfurling large banners with hand-painted demands: “We don’t want Biden, we want revenge”; “We are ungovernable”; “A new world from the ashes.” Intoxicated by revolution and enabled by their elders, Portland’s kids are not all right.

They are traitors and they have to be counted as dead immediately.

Georgia Judge Allows Inspection of 2020 Ballots
THE WASHINGTON POST reports:
“A Georgia state judge on Friday ordered Fulton County to allow a group of local voters to inspect all 147,000 mail-in ballots cast in the 2020 election in response to a lawsuit alleging that officials accepted thousands of counterfeit ballots.

“The decision marks the latest instance of a local government being forced to undergo a third-party inspection of its election practices amid baseless accusations promoted by President Donald Trump that fraud flipped the 2020 contest for President Biden.”

'We still need a two-state solution': Biden reaffirms support for Israel

Yahoo News
President Biden forcefully articulated a defense of Israel on Friday evening, even as more progressive members of his party have sought to cut military aid to the country amid a renewed cycle of violence.

“There is no shift in my commitment to the security of Israel. Period. No shift, not at all,” Biden said during a press conference with South Korean president Moon Jae-in, who was in Washington to discuss the fraught situation on the Korean Peninsula.

“We still need a two-state solution,” Biden added. “It is the only answer. The only answer.”

That statement put him at odds with progressives who argue that Arabs and Jews should live in a single nation. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., the only Palestinian member of Congress, favors that approach. She and Biden spoke earlier this week on an airport tarmac when he arrived in Michigan for an event concerning vehicle electrification.

Even as the two leaders discussed how to contain the threat of a nuclear North Korea, Biden faced questions about the just concluded hostilities between Israel and Hamas, the militant Islamist group that controls Gaza.

Biden had hoped to avoid the trap into which previous presidents had fallen by promising a once-and-for-all solution to the conflict between Israel, a Jewish-majority state, and its Arab neighbors. But that became impossible earlier this month after confrontations between Arabs and Israelis in East Jerusalem turned violent.

Israel had been locked in nearly two weeks of fighting with Hamas, a group that has sought political legitimacy in recent years but is also willing to use violence, including launching rockets into Israel.

Israel, meanwhile, conducted a relentless aerial assault of the Gaza Strip, killing some 230 Palestinians. The goal of the Israeli strikes was to destroy tunnels Hamas uses to move fighters and military equipment, but those strikes were widely condemned for killing civilians and worsening an already dire humanitarian situation.

A former chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee who has been privy to decades of Middle Eastern conflict, Biden holds views on Israel that are in keeping with those of the Washington establishment. Those views, however, are not shared by many progressives, some of whom have made an explicit link to the Palestinian struggle for statehood to the domestic push for racial justice.

On Friday, Biden made clear that he is unmoved by the arguments of the left, even as his administration had adopted and incorporated progressive ideas in other areas of governing. Support for Israel, he seemed to say, was sacrosanct.

“My party still supports Israel,” Biden asserted on Friday evening, arguing that it was Arab states’ denial of legitimacy to Israel that has led to violent clashes like the one with Hamas.

“Until the region says unequivocally that they acknowledge the right of Israel to exist as an independent Jewish state,” the president said, “there will be no peace.”

Ex-FBI chief gave $100K to Biden grandkid trust as he sought ‘future work’: Hunter emails

Former FBI Director Louis Freeh gave $100,000 to a trust for two of President Biden’s grandchildren as he sought to pursue “some very good and profitable matters” with him, newly surfaced emails revealed Thursday.

Freeh apparently made the gift in April 2016 — when Biden was the outgoing vice president — and shortly before he told Biden’s son Hunter, “I would be delighted to do future work with you,” according to the emails.

Biden dramatically scales up the pressure on Netanyahu as decades-long relationship faces its most consequential moment
CNN

Updated 1:46 PM ET, Wed May 19, 2021
(CNN)President Joe Biden on Wednesday dramatically escalated his public pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the fighting with Hamas that has stretched into a 10th day, as their decades-long relationship faces a stern test.

The White House said Biden told Netanyahu "that he expected a significant de-escalation today on the path to a ceasefire" in the raging violence. The statement was a signal Biden is losing patience with Netanyahu, a leader he has known for four decades.

The description of the call -- the fourth between President and Prime Minister over the past week -- reflected growing concern in the White House over the conflict. Previously, administration officials said their objective was to keep pressure on Israel limited to private conversations. But that appeared to shift after the White House revealed publicly that Biden had set a short deadline for tamping down the violence.
