Covid deaths by age group - sort of?

CDC keeps moving this, but after about five clicks deep I found something similar to what I used to track, only with significant differences?

So we keep hearing about how the delta variant is not like the original Covid-19 strain and that it is negatively affecting children and younger Americans.  For me, the proof is going to be in the pudding so to speak. Reality is that 90% of what you read on social media is flat out wrong. Probably 75% of what you hear in the MSM is misleading or flat out wrong. There is no objective truth other than the underlying numbers.

But now I wonder if the numbers from the CDC can even be trusted. First these seem to be moved every other day to avoid people from seeing them. Then they change the age brackets (they used to track from 15-24 rather than 19-29) making it impossible to compare the older numbers.

Lastly, there appears to be less people dead than there were a few months ago when I previously tracked this. Most egregiously, there are significantly less people reported dead in the older age groups (65 and above) that when I was tracking it earlier this spring. Last I looked there were 164,182 dead people over the age of 85. Now there are 155,854. Maybe it's just me, but I would have expected that number to go up, not down? Did these people come back to life?

All that being said, we still show that only 541 school aged children have died from Covid in well over a year of this  (this number is still going up interestingly). That is approximately one out every 135,000 school aged children. Yet we are suddenly (for the safety of our children) requiring mask wearing.

Is that science that can be backed up with tangible numbers or something driven by media and political frenzy?

What's your fucking point????

Seven states reported no child deaths, while other states reported 0-0.03% of all child coronavirus cases resulting in death. As of July 29, a total of 358 children have reportedly been killed by COVID-19 in the U.S.

But something else has to be done to save children from mental stability and other long term questions.

Long-term health of children needs to be studied

"However, there is an urgent need to collect more data on longer-term impacts of the pandemic on children, including ways the virus may harm the long-term physical health of infected children, as well as its emotional and mental health effects," the report reads.

That said, the report acknowledged that the figures could be inaccurate for a handful of reasons. The ages designated as a "child" vary from state to state, ranging from newborns to 20, and some states altered their definition of a child during the pandemic.

Further complicating things, the most up-to-date numbers include testing figures from only 11 states, according to the report. Only 23 states and New York City reported hospitalizations and 43 states — along with New York City, Puerto Rico and Guam — reported mortality rates. Florida stopped reporting child hospitalizations in late June and Iowa stopped updating child testing data shortly after. And in Nebraska, the COVID-19 dashboard has been unavailable since the end of June.

Parts of the country are considering reimplementing protective measures as cases climb. With the start of the school year just around the corner, the same organization that conducted the report is recommending that students over the age of 2 and all staff — vaccinated or not — mask up.

Some states though, including Arkansas, Florida, South Carolina and Texas, have implemented laws prohibiting mask mandates in schools.

With cases running rampant across his state, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson is caught in a bind. The governor is still not in favor of a statewide mandate, but he wants the law banning state and local mask mandates overturned to give schools the opportunity to implement mask mandates.

"In hindsight, I wish that it had not become law," Hutchinson a real Republican said at a news conference Tuesday. "But it is the law, and the only chance we have is either to amend it or for the courts to say that it has an unconstitutional foundation."

To date, the coronavirus has claimed the lives of more than 612,000 people. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently walked back its previous message that most vaccinated persons could engage in nearly all activities mask-free. It is now recommending that everyone, regardless of vaccine status, return to wearing masks indoors in areas where transmission rates are high that you will say that masking is a government should not do!

Republicans are playing with people's lives.

You think 541 lives don't matter anymore.

How many kids actually died?

Rog...

About 20,000 children die every year and the leading cause of those deaths are traffic fatalities (motor vehicle crashes).

Should we ban putting kids in cars?

Or do you not care about the 4000 plus children who die that way ever year?

Or should we care more about the 541 over a year and a half than we do for the 4000 every year?

Just curious Roger?

Why is a Covid death any worse than a car crash?

He thinks that the Chinese virus would have killed 33% of Americans

Trump went on to compare the 2020 pandemic to the Spanish Flu pandemic.

"You take the Spanish Flu, 100 million people, up to 100 million people, died. I think we'd be in that territory," he said in the United States

________

Well, just wait until children start returning to school unmasked and children and unvaccinated(!) teachers start getting sick and dying in increasing numbers from the more virulent Delta strain of the virus.

Who you gonna blame then?

How about Republican governors who quashed mask mandates for the schools?

How about Republican politicians who played down getting vaccinated and now are sick and wishing they hadn't?

How about them?

That'll be a form of "objective truth" you'll have a hard time pretzeling your way out of.

By lying, in simple words.
