Ivermectin is a Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved antiparasitic drug that is used to treat several neglected tropical diseases, including onchocerciasis, helminthiases, and scabies.1 It is also being evaluated for its potential to reduce the rate of malaria transmission by killing mosquitoes that feed on treated humans and livestock. For these indications, ivermectin has been widely used and is generally well tolerated.
There is insufficient evidence for the COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel (the Panel) to recommend either for or against the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19. Results from adequately powered, well-designed, and well-conducted clinical trials are needed to provide more specific, evidence-based guidance on the role of ivermectin in the treatment of COVID-19.
You can read all about it on this particular CDC website, which explains what properties of the drug is thought by some to assist with Covid. They even cite studies that show that the drug has been shown to help in many aspects of Covid. While they conclude that ultimately the studies are still ongoing, they do not dismiss those studies out of hand.
The only warning against Ivermectin is that the FDA warns against taking the type of Ivermectin that is designed specifically for animals. There is no FDA warning against taking the actual drug in general as many on the left are arguing.
Covid deaths are increasing even as we are seeing more and more people vaccinated. Our President seems to have no plan for Covid other than to point fingers and offer up that others are to blame for his lack of action. This sort of fake attack on Ivermectin is the same as it was on Hydroxychloroquine. Generally unsupported rumors from fake people or people who provide no reason to actually believe them.
These are desperate attacks made by desperate people who just want to believe that it's their political opponents who are so stupid as to kill themselves taking an unapproved and dangerous drug. As it ALWAYS seems to be, these desperate people are the uninformed people and when the facts come out, it turns out that they are the ones being stupid. Pretty much every time.
The only thing we can be sure about... is that they "will" be fooled again and again and again!

Since the last revision of this section of the Guidelines, the results of several randomized trials and retrospective cohort studies of ivermectin use in patients with COVID-19 have been published in peer-reviewed journals or have been made available as manuscripts ahead of peer review. Some clinical studies showed no benefits or worsening of disease after ivermectin use,21-24 whereas others reported shorter time to resolution of disease manifestations that were attributed to COVID-19,25-27 greater reduction in inflammatory marker levels,26 shorter time to viral clearance,21 or lower mortality rates in patients who received ivermectin than in patients who received comparator drugs or placebo.21,27
However, most of these studies had incomplete information and significant methodological limitations, which make it difficult to exclude common causes of bias. These limitations include:
The sample size of most of the trials was small.Various doses and schedules of ivermectin were used. Some of the randomized controlled trials were open-label studies in which neither the participants nor the investigators were blinded to the treatment arms.Patients received various concomitant medications (e.g., doxycycline, hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin, zinc, corticosteroids) in addition to ivermectin or the comparator drug. This confounded the assessment of the efficacy or safety of ivermectin. The severity of COVID-19 in the study participants was not always well described. The study outcome measures were not always clearly defined.
Table 2c includes summaries of key studies. Because most of these studies have significant limitations, the Panel cannot draw definitive conclusions on the clinical efficacy of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19. Results from adequately powered, well-designed, and well-conducted clinical trials are needed to provide further guidance on the role of ivermectin in the treatment of COVID-19.

On Twitter last month, the Food and Drug Administration warned that the drug was not approved for use against Covid and that taking large doses could cause serious harm. “You are not a horse,” its tweet read. “You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”
In a statement on Wednesday, alarmed health experts from the American Medical Association, the American Pharmacists Association and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists called for “an immediate end to the prescribing, dispensing and use of ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of Covid-19 outside of a clinical trial.”
Though it has not been shown to be effective in treating Covid-19, people are still clamoring to get the drug, trading tips in Facebook groups and on Reddit. Some physicians have compared the phenomenon with last year’s surge of interest in hydroxychloroquine, though ivermectin has undergone more clinical trials, which have so far repeatedly shown that it failed to help Covid patients.
One of the largest trials, called the Together Trial, was halted last month because the drug had been shown to be no better than a placebo at preventing hospitalization. In July, a research paper showing that the medicine reduced Covid deaths was withdrawn after questions arose about plagiarism and data manipulation.

Hey roger,
How many people around the world have been treated with Ivermectin for Covid?
Just a real number
No math required
TIA (thanks in advance)

Moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Jesus Christ Roger... did you not read what I wrote. I didn't say whether or not the drug works.
You never just read and comment on what someone writes. You go off on theses strange tangents.
The CDC website counters the claims that the drug is only used to de-worm animals, that it is dangerous to humans, or that it is banned by the FDA.
The fact that the CDC does not recommend either way is not proof that it is dangerous.
Are you reading impaired Roger?
Or is this dementia setting in?
Apparently Roger... some people are unaware of the fact the drug exists for both humans and animals. They are two separate things.
The FDA not believing it works against Covid is not a ban. People are taking it in studies and if a doctor wants to prescribe it they can.
Everytime you make reference to a cow or horse proves you don't understand the first thing about the drug.
Are you reading impaired Roger?
Or is this dementia setting in?
He probably didn't even recognize Char-Lee the Tran-Nee and it's "husband" the other day.

Hey alky,
YOU'RE the one who fell for the Ivermectin OK story. Not one of us.
That was one of your better self-owns around here in a while sport.
Good job.
And spamming the board with a NY Times article to make a point? That's like doubling DOWN on the self own.

SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA, Okla. (KFOR) – A rural Oklahoma doctor said patients who are taking the horse de-wormer medication, ivermectin, to fight COVID-19 are causing emergency room and ambulance back ups.
“There’s a reason you have to have a doctor to get a prescription for this stuff, because it can be dangerous,” said Dr. Jason McElyea.
Oklahoma Center for Poison and Drug Information receiving more calls from people becoming ill after taking ivermectin to treat COVID-19
Dr. McElyea said patients are packing his eastern and southeastern Oklahoma hospitals after taking ivermectin doses meant for a full-sized horse, because they believed false claims the horse de-wormer could fight COVID-19.
ADVERTISING
“The ERs are so backed up that gunshot victims were having hard times getting to facilities where they can get definitive care and be treated,” he said.
Dr. Jason McElyea
That’s something McElyea said is now backing up ambulance systems as well.
“All of their ambulances are stuck at the hospital waiting for a bed to open so they can take the patient in and they don’t have any, that’s it,” said Dr. McElyea. “If there’s no ambulance to take the call, there’s no ambulance to come to the call.”
“Do not take medicine for animals,” Oklahoma stores sold out of horse deworming drug despite FDA warning about consumption
The doctor said many of his patients aren’t afraid of ivermectin. Many of them have used it on their livestock.
“Growing up in a small town, rural area, we’ve all accidentally been exposed to ivermectin at some time. So, it’s something people are familiar with. Because of those accidental sticks, when trying to inoculate cattle, they’re less afraid of it,” he said.
Now, the rural patients are going into their local agricultural or tractor supply store, ignoring the warning signs surrounding the products, and figuring out a dosage themselves.
“Some people taking inappropriate doses have actually put themselves in worse conditions than if they’d caught COVID,” said the
Dr. McElyea said the patients are suffering from nausea, vomiting, muscle aches and cramping, and that’s only in minor cases.
“The scariest one that I’ve heard of and seen is people coming in with vision loss,” he said. Scott wants people to go blind because he hates liberals
Florida Poison Control sees spike in calls from people taking livestock deworming drug ivermectin
Even the manufacturer states there is no scientific basis or meaningful evidence Ivermectin is effective against COVID. However, many of the tractor supply stores say their shelves are empty.
“You have to ask yourself, ‘If I take this medicine, what am I going to do if something bad happens?’ What’s your next step, what’s your backup plan?” the doctor said. “If you’re going to take a medicine that could affect your health, do it with a doctor on board. Make those decisions with a thoroughly vetted opinion. There’s a lot of schooling that goes into that. It’s not just something you look on the internet for and decide if it’s the right dose.”

Hospital debunks story that claimed 'gunshot victims left waiting' because of ivermectin overdoses
An Oklahoma hospital corrected the record Saturday after the mainstream media pushed a false story claiming "gunshot victims" had been turned away after experiencing a surge of patients who purportedly overdosed on ivermectin.
The story was built on a single interview that Oklahoma-based physician Dr. Jason McElyea gave to KFOR-TV. In that interview, McElyea claimed "the [emergency rooms] are so backed up that gunshot victims were having hard times getting to facilities where they can get definitive care and be treated" because people with COVID-19 are allegedly overdosing on ivermectin.
The claim was widely circulated by Democrats and the mainstream media, including the New York Times (which linked to KFOR's story), The Hill, Newsweek, The Guardian, Insider, and even MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.

great detective work there alky
The difference between us is I read the whole thing and I found out the part of the article that completely destroyed your argument.
No... it somehow destroyed some argument that nobody made here. Nobody is arguing that this drug is some sort of silver bullet or that the CDC said it worked.
I am making the argument that the drug being referenced by studies and people who are taking it is NOT the Horse dewormer sold under the same name. It's like I might do a little THC and CBD - but I don't go to Petco and take the drug designed for dogs.
Or more to the point, the fact that Petco has THC or CBD for dogs does not mean that there isn't THC or CBD for humans that is perfectly safe.
There is a legitimate drug in question. The first few paragraphs of the story provides the benefits that some people believe it will assist with Covid. They admit that there are studies out there that show promise. They simply refuse (like they did with Hydroxychloroquine) to provide any positive guidance for ANY treatment what-so-ever....
In spite of 80-90 percent of the rest of the world doing exactly that.
So no Roger. You proved nothing.

Ask Lydia.
Texas schools have amassed more than 50,000 confirmed coronavirus cases in students in just a couple of weeks. More than a dozen school districts have closed temporarily as a result of the disease, and Texas is a leader in child deaths from COVID-19 with 59 as of Sept. 3.
59 dead children is not a big deal to ch.
Your last post shows without a doubt that you have lost your mind.
The fake news robotics from Trump has revealed your cognitive dissonance.
They simply refuse (like they did with Hydroxychloroquine) to provide any positive guidance for ANY treatment what-so-ever....
Despite people used it, the medical records show that it is almost zero percent effective.

Should it be? Especially when 13 dead servicemen was not a big deal to Biden. And they died for nothing. All so an imbecile could feel like a tough guy for a couple of days.

Sounds like roger was stuck in that for a LONG time
A school for 5th graders.
I guess at least that's what they told him
59 dead children is not a big deal to ch.
Actually it would be a big deal as we only had 400 total deaths of children through 9/1 according to the CDC.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm#SexAndAge
I guess the real question is whether or not 59 dead is from a recent time period or if that is overall. If we are talking from the beginning, then we are looking at 3-4 deaths a month. Nobody wants to see ANY dead kids, but it happens.
The leading cause of death for kids that age is Automobile injuries. The second leading cause is suicide. I think we have to consider what it important both to the health and the mental health of children and weight that out.
I have no issues with Texas closing their schools if they have had that sort of outbreak. But schools are opening all over the country. We will no doubt see these same outbreaks as the virus spreads out (as it always does). Florida (btw) has been passed up by several states and are not even in the top ten anymore in positive testing and their deaths have slowed considerably.
Now the media will concentrate on Texas (while ignoring all of the states with higher rates per capita) because it is a "red state". You - Roger will follow along.
Because you cannot stand the truth.
Biden had no plan and just expected it to go away on it's own.
Trump may have said something like that, but his actions were proactive and vigilant towards the disease. We did more than any 10 countries put together.
Biden said he had a plan, but his actions have suggested there was none. He has done what you accused Trump of saying. Biden is just sitting around hoping it goes away on it's own. There is nothing new other than pushing the vaccine even harder.
That happened in about 5th grade school.
