Tim Carney of the Washington Examiner says that media critics of Rogan present no evidence he took horse-formulated ivermectin: “They seem to be deliberately misleading their readers in order to get good guffaws at the Neanderthals. It would be natural to conclude that most ivermectin taken these days is horse paste. But it isn’t. The CDC reports that ivermectin prescriptions (human prescriptions) have risen 24-fold since before COVID-19, from 3,600 a week to 88,000 a week.”

We don’t know whether ivermectin is helping people with COVID, but one of the largest health-insurance companies, UnitedHealthcare, and researchers at the medical schools of UCLA, Northwestern, and the University of Minnesota believe that the data that are now available look promising. They are conducting a nationwide outpatient study, COVID-Out, to determine whether ivermectin and two other common drugs could help keep people out of hospitals and intensive-care units.
So if you look at the medical science, it would appear that there are plenty of actual doctors willing to prescribe ivermectin to their patients and that well respected Medical organizations (including high profile medical schools UCLA and the U of M) are seeing potential in this drug and other common drugs that might be used?
Why is it that the left has to lie? Is the desire to show that Covid is a far right problem and that somehow this is exasperated by conservatives taking dangerous animal medications so overwhelming that they cannot help themselves? Do they believe (as they did by lying about January 6th) that people will continue to believe them, even after they are exposed as liars to most?
More to the point, why do they not want to find a treatment that works? 80-90 percent of the world is treating Covid at the beginning. We are barbarically waiting for the virus to put us into a condition that needs emergency hospitalization before we do anything. Why is that? Why are liberals willing to even lie to prevent any sort of treatment from being used?

MIAMI — On a recent show on Actualidad, a Miami AM radio station, the host was promoting a false cure for Covid-19: the use of ivermectin, a drug used to deworm animals. The Food and Drug Administration has been warning against its use and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has cautioned that poison centers are reporting an increase in severe illnesses caused by people taking the drug.
What is even more funny is that the drug won a nobel prize for effectiveness in 2015!

Not only that, it gave direct, visible benefits to people, in the form of stimulus checks and the expanded child tax credit.
How much did the public reward Biden for it? Not at all. There was no surge of good will and appreciation; his approval rating before it passed was around 53 percent, and his approval rating after it passed was about 53 percent.
We’ll almost certainly wind up telling a similar story about the infrastructure bill and the Democrats’ reconciliation bill if and when those are signed into law: The public will like the spending, but it won’t convince them that the president who forced it through is doing a good job.
The same will probably be true of his entire agenda. Democrats are often advised that because their policy agenda is widely popular with the public — majorities of whom would like to see a higher minimum wage, action on climate change, higher taxes on the wealthy, legalized marijuana, universal background checks and so on — they should move aggressively forward on all those issues without fear.
Which they should. But the seemingly logical conclusion — that if they do those popular things, the public will reward them for it — has little if any evidence to support it.

The ABC News/Washington Post poll, conducted Aug. 29-Sept 1, is among the latest national surveys to indicate that the rocky exit from Afghanistan, ending a two-decade U.S. military presence in the war-torn Central Asian country, is taking a toll on the president's political standing.
The poll’s release followed by a day an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist national survey that indicated Biden at 43%-51%, the president’s lowest approval in Marist polling since taking office. The president stood at 46%-48% in an Ipsos national survey conducted Sept. 1-2.

The question of what will happen over the long term to refugees who arrive in the United States is a moving target.
Some have arrived with completed visa applications in recognition of their service alongside the U.S. military. Those people, and their families, will become permanent residents and could earn citizenship.
But the vast majority of the refugees are being granted what is known as “humanitarian parole,” which allows them to live in the United States for a fixed period, in most cases two years. They may be required to apply for asylum and will get help to find a home in the United States while they wait for their cases to be processed.
Officials said they were considering asking Congress to pass legislation that would provide all of the refugees with legal status, much the way lawmakers did for Cubans in the 1960s and Vietnamese refugees in 1975.
As of Thursday, more than 26,100 Afghans fresh off planes had been shuttled to a cavernous room near Dulles, including 3,800 on Wednesday alone.

Rachel Maddow still has her blue checkmark on Twitter. The ultra-rich (reportedly earning $30 million a year in her new MSNBC contract) news commentator gleefully spread a false story that rural hospitals and ambulances in Oklahoma were backed up because so many ignorant rubes were overdosing on ivermectin horse medicine. Some were even losing their vision.
It is all part of a campaign to demonize ivermectin, and totally false. The original story appearing in Rolling Stone was as fake as that magazine's University of Virginia rape hoax.
So where's the accountability? There is no tag from Twitter calling this misinformation. No sign on Maddow's Twitter feed that she takes responsibility for spreading a false story that could lead to people not taking an effective medicine. Why, people could miss a life-saving treatment. This is the sort of thing where the left cries, "Blood on your hands!" when there is an opportunity to criticize a conservative.

For humans, ivermectin tablets are approved at very specific doses to treat some parasitic worms, and there are topical (on the skin) formulations for head lice and skin conditions like rosacea.
However, the FDA has received multiple reports of patients who have required medical attention, including hospitalization, after self-medicating with ivermectin intended for livestock.

Even the levels of ivermectin for approved human uses can interact with other medications, like blood-thinners. You can also overdose on ivermectin, which can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hypotension (low blood pressure), allergic reactions (itching and hives), dizziness, ataxia (problems with balance), seizures, coma and even death.

The Reverend is a hopeless hack. Florida has outpatient COVID treatment centers. People are encourage to go to the center and be treated.on the first sign of the disease. Even people who are already been vaccinated are treated. While it doesn't prevent infection, it does mitigate the symptoms and shortens the course of the disease.
It's hard to estimate how much hospitalizations these centers prevented but the guess is "quite a lot".
It's too bad such centers are not setup in Northern States but I guess they and the news media know more than medical experts
