Remember Scott when actions like ignoreding science speaks louder than words like masking requirements and mandatory vaccine is an infringement on my rights to shout fire in a theater.

“Nationally, covid-19 deaths have climbed steadily in recent weeks, hitting a seven-day average of about 1,500 a day Thursday, after falling to the low 200s in early July — the latest handiwork of a contagious variant that has exploited the return to everyday activities by tens of millions of Americans, many of them unvaccinated.”

You don't condem Republicans for anything.

I have criticized Biden many times. As well as Obama and Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign failures

Allan Dershowitz

During a Thursday appearance with the conservative network Newsmax, Dershowitz said, “I do predict the Supreme Court will strike down the Texas statute.” “It’s possible they won’t do it straight away. They may have to wait until the next case, which is scheduled to be heard in the fall. The Texas law, on the other hand, is doomed.”

During his remarks, Dershowitz expressed his belief that Supreme Court Justices John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh I agree with him would find the law’s enforcement mechanism to be problematic.

Bounty hunters should not be enforcing the law.

Acosta Calls Tucker Carlson a ‘Human Manure Spreader’
September 4, 2021 at 10:17 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard

CNN anchor Jim Acosta called Fox News host Tucker Carlson a “human manure-spreader” on Saturday for fear-mongering about Afghan refugees.

Said Acosta: “Over on Fox, human manure-spreader Tucker Carlson has floated yet another race-baiting conspiracy theory that tens of thousands of Afghan refugees are being welcomed into this country to change the outcome of future elections.”

You mean those Afghan refugees will vote for Biden and the Democrats instead of Trump style Republicans? Why is that?

Explain that, Ch. Help us understand that.

Holy shit..I just saw this.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – Though the Delta variant remains the dominant strain of COVID-19 in Los Angeles County, health officials on Friday confirmed the presence of the new, highly contagious Mu variant, which is also described as highly contagious and potentially able to evade vaccines.

The LA County Department of Public Health said it has so far detected 167 cases of the Mu variant, all between June 19 and Aug. 21, with the majority of those infections discovered in July.

Officially labeled a “variant of interest” by the World Health Organization, the Mu variant was first found in Colombia in January. It has since been detected in 39 other countries. Initial reviews of the new strain suggest the potential to evade available vaccines, though county health officials said “more studies are needed to determine whether Mu variant is more contagious, more deadly or more resistant to vaccine and treatments than other COVID-19 strains.”

On Thursday, Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said the Delta variant represents nearly all the cases in the county that undergo the sequencing needed to identify specific viral mutations.

“The identification of variants like Mu, and the spreading of variants across the globe, highlights the need for L.A. County residents to continue to take measures to protect themselves and others,” Ferrer said in a statement Friday. “This is what makes getting vaccinated and layering protections so important. These are actions that break the chain of transmission and limits COVID-19 proliferation that allows for the virus to mutate into something that could be more dangerous.”

If the vaccine doesn't provide protection, God knows how many people will die!

If you are threatened by Mu, just take ivermectine and you will immediately be fine.

Ivermectin is a medication that is used to treat parasite infestations.[In humans, this includes head lice, scabies, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis, and lymphatic filariasis.

In veterinary medicine, it is used to prevent and treat heartworm and acariasis, among other indications. It can be taken by mouth or applied to the skin for external infestations. It belongs to the avermectin family of medications. It works through many mechanisms of action that result in death of the targeted parasites.]

Ivermectin was discovered in 1975 and came into medical use in 1981. In 2015, William Campbell and Satoshi Ōmura won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for its discovery and applications. It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines. Ivermectin is FDA-approved as an antiparasitic agent. In 2018, it was the 420th most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more than one hundred thousand prescriptions.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, misinformation was widely spread claiming that ivermectin is beneficial for treating and preventing COVID-19. Such claims are not backed by credible scientific evidence.

Contraindications
Ivermectin is contraindicated in children under the age of five or those who weigh less than 15 kilograms (33 pounds), and individuals with liver or kidney disease.Ivermectin is secreted in very low concentration in breast milk. It remains unclear if ivermectin is safe during pregnancy.

COVID-19 misinformation
In response to widespread misuse, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Centers for Disease Control, World Health Organization, American Medical Association, American Pharmacists Association, and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists issued statements in 2021 warning that ivermectin is not approved or authorized for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19 and advised against its use for that purpose outside of clinical trials.

Ivermectin became a cause célèbre for right-wing figures promoting it as a supposed COVID treatment. Misinformation about ivermectin's efficacy spread widely on social media, fueled by publications that have since been retracted, misleading "meta-analysis" websites with substandard methods, and conspiracy theories about efforts by governments and scientists to "suppress the evidence."

In August 2021, the state of Mississippi announced that 70 percent of recent calls to poison control centers were due to people taking ivermectin in a dose formulated for large animals. State officials urged residents to get vaccinated, in a state where the vaccination rate was among the lowest in the country.

During an interview with Fox News National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin aired on Saturday’s “Fox Report,” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley said that the speed of the collapse of Afghanistan’s military and government was a surprise, and “what you saw unfold with this noncombatant evacuation operation was one of the contingency plans.” And “There was an extensive amount of planning in this.”

Milley said, [relevant remarks begin around 2:20] “I think a couple of things. One, is the collapse of the Afghan Army happened at a much faster rate and very unexpected, by pretty much everybody, and then with that is the collapse of the Afghan government. So, that was definitely a surprise. But I will say that there was an awful lot of planning done, ROC drills, rehearsals, etc. And what you saw unfold with this noncombatant evacuation operation was one of the contingency plans. And the speed at which it was executed, the flow of the aircraft, we had planes taking off every 30 to 45 minutes or so. We had — we brought in 7,000 — or 6,000 U.S. troops, and then there [were] about a thousand or more or so Afghan troops that secured HKIA. The first day, it was clearly chaotic, no question about it. You saw that on video, etc. But within about 24 hours, that settled down and it became a much more orderly process. The security of HKIA was challenging to say the least, and we saw the bombing. But that would have happened no matter where it was. People talk about Bagram, wherever there’s a perimeter, if there’s no outside force, if there’s no Afghan force securing it, and there wasn’t any, then there’s going to be U.S. forces on the perimeter, on the edge. And they were doing what they were asked to do, which is go out and screen and process people.”

He continued, “So, were there — there’s a lot of lessons learned. And I think we’re going to go through that in a very systematic way. I know we are on the Joint Staff. I know Central Command will. And I’m sure the other departmental agencies will. From a military standing point though — military planning standpoint…those plans were done in detail. … There was an extensive amount of planning in this.”

One day, Donald Trump will win the Nobel Prize for advocating hydroxychloroquine too!

Right now, the medical establishment is doing the equivalent of a doctor who, when he concludes that you are in the early stages of a sinus infection, sends you home without any antibiotics and, instead, tells you to return when you're septic.  When it comes to COVID, we're all told to go home and get back to the doctor when we're on the verge of dying and interventional medicines will no longer work.  Meanwhile, almost the entire American establishment (Democrats, doctors, Hollywood stars) hectors everyone to get vaccinated.

The bias against early intervention is so strong that the same people lecturing people about vaccines are also assuring them that ivermectin, which has been touted as a possible treatment, is in fact an incredibly dangerous horse de-worming medicine.  When word got out that Joe Rogan treated his COVID with ivermectin (as well as hydroxychloroquine), the condescending sneering began:

In fact, the CDC, beloved of the American left, strongly recommends ivermectin for third-world refugees heading to America carrying inside of them a host of parasites (and yes, the image is horrible but the highlights will give you an insight into how often ivermectin is mentioned):

Just remember: Ivermectin is such a miracle drug that it won the Nobel Prize.

So the takeaway is that you're statistically unlikely to die if you get COVID and that you can decrease even those chances by convincing your doctor that ivermectin is not only not a horse medicine, but, in the right doses, so wonderful that it won a Nobel Prize.  (And if you're I, losing a few pounds is probably a good idea, too.)

A doctor in rural Oklahoma says hospitals are backed up with patients who have overdosed on veterinary ivermectin, an anti-parasite medication. Mississippi’s health department said that 70 percent of recent calls to the state poison control center in August came from people who ingested ivermectin from livestock supply stores.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that a person had an “altered mental status” after apparently taking five pills of ivermectin — that he had purchased on the internet — daily for five days. Another person drank an ivermectin formula intended for cattle and was hospitalized for nine days with tremors and hallucinations.

Three inmates in a jail in northwest Arkansas told The Associated Press that they were unknowingly given ivermectin among their Covid medications. The C.D.C. reported almost 90,000 prescriptions per week in mid-August, up from a prepandemic average of 3,600 per week. Veterinary supply store shelves have been emptied of ivermectin.

Public health warnings against using the drug as a treatment for Covid-19, especially not in the large doses crafted for livestock, appear to have made little dent in its surging popularity in the United States — or in the minds of its defenders in the conservative and fringe right-wing media sphere.

The podcasting giant Joe Rogan listed ivermectin this week among the treatments he was given after contracting the virus. The conspiracy-monger Alex Jones, who has been banned from Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, took out a box of ivermectin pills during one of his trademark rants and popped two tablets live on the show he still manages to stream.

Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance, a nonprofit group of doctors, promotes ivermectin as a “a core medication in the prevention and treatment” of Covid-19.

Coronavirus Drug and Treatment Tracker

Ivermectin was introduced as a veterinary drug in the late 1970s, and then approved for use in humans infected with parasites. Since 1987, its U.S. maker, Merck & Co., has donated billions of doses that have spared hundreds of millions of people from river blindness in Africa and other parasitic diseases. Two scientists shared a Nobel Prize in 2015 for their work in developing the drug. But in the United States, it has limited human applications, like treating lice and rosacea, and has been primarily used to deworm horses, cows and pets — until now.

On Twitter last month, the Food and Drug Administration warned that the drug was not approved for use against Covid and that taking large doses could cause serious harm. “You are not a horse,” its tweet read. “You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”

In a statement on Wednesday, alarmed health experts from the American Medical Association, the American Pharmacists Association and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists called for “an immediate end to the prescribing, dispensing and use of ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of Covid-19 outside of a clinical trial.”

Though it has not been shown to be effective in treating Covid-19, people are still clamoring to get the drug, trading tips in Facebook groups and on Reddit. Some physicians have compared the phenomenon with last year’s surge of interest in hydroxychloroquine, though ivermectin has undergone more clinical trials, which have so far repeatedly shown that it failed to help Covid patients.

One of the largest trials, called the Together Trial, was halted last month because the drug had been shown to be no better than a placebo at preventing hospitalization. In July, a research paper showing that the medicine reduced Covid deaths was withdrawn after questions arose about plagiarism and data manipulation.

State of the virus

Update for Sept. 4

The country is averaging more than 1,500 deaths a day for the first time since March.

Daily death totals have more than quintupled since the start of August, though they remain well below the peak levels from last winter.

Growing outbreaks in the Midwest, Northeast and mid-Atlantic have largely offset declining case numbers in parts of the Deep South.

Through Friday, Maine, South Dakota and Ohio had the country’s fastest rates of case growth.

South Carolina is averaging more than 5,400 new cases a day and has the country’s highest rate of recent cases. Hospitalizations in that state are near peak levels from last winter.

Cases have started to decline in Florida, but more than 15,000 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, the highest rate in the country.

Reports of new cases appear to be leveling off in Washington and Oregon, both of which have set records in recent weeks. Case rates in the Pacific Northwest remain well below those seen in the South.

About 950,000 vaccine doses are being administered each day, up from a low point of about 500,000 doses a day in late July. Three-quarters of American adults have received at least one dose of a vaccine.

“The delta variant’s two-month surge has generated a sharp rise in public fears about contracting the coronavirus,
undermined confidence in President Biden’s leadership
and renewed divisions over vaccine and mask mandates,”
according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll.

“Biden’s approval rating for handling the pandemic has dropped to 52% from 62% in late June… Biden’s overall approval rating fell from 50% to 44% from June… Biden’s ratings for handling the economy also have declined, from 52% positive in April to 45% in the latest survey.”

Covid-19 Cases Soar Where Schools Have Opened

September 5, 2021 at 7:59 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

Wall Street Journal:
“The recent spread of the highly contagious Delta variant has thrown back-to-school plans into disarray,
temporarily driving tens of thousands of students back to virtual learning
or pausing instruction altogether.

“The shutdowns are hitting classrooms especially hard in the Deep South,
where most schools were among the first to open,
a possible warning of what’s to come as the rest of the nation’s students start school this month…

“It is difficult to assess precisely how badly schools have been hit by the virus,
partly because of variations in data reporting.
But according to an analysis of the available data from state health departments,
the number of infections in school-age children has climbed more rapidly in states where students have been back in school for weeks.”

AND YET GOP GOVERNORS ARE SAYING
DON'T MAKE US
OR OUR CHILDREN WEAR MASKS
AND DON'T ENCOURAGE VACCINATION
BECAUSE OUR BODIES BELONG TO US
(EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO WOMEN'S BODIES)
AND SO DO OUR CHILDREN BELONG TO US,
TO DO WITH THEM AND TO THEM,
AS WE CHOOSE.

Covid-19 Cases Soar Where Schools Have Opened
September 5, 2021 at 7:59 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

Schools here opened last week and many schools don't open till after Labor day. Since there is an incubation period, a few days before the symptoms would take hold, and then there is that little matter of getting tested and getting results.

Kind of hard to believe that the idea that schools were opening has proactively created a new Covid crisis before the virus could realistically and scientifically done so.

But it's good propaganda, Reverend. Another attempt to "blame" people for the fact that the Idiot in Chief has no plan!!!

Hmmmmm.... about Covid treatments.

At the end of the day countries representing approximately 5 billion people are currently treating Covid with a variety of different drugs including the dreaded Hydroxychloroquine...

The United States does refuse to provide any treatment until a patient is so sick that they must become hospitalized. The need to be against anything Trump was for is so overwhelming for so many people that they would rather see people die (or even die themselves) than consider the possibility that 5 billion people (and Trump) might be right about treating Covid.

But alas... while a person can be smart, people are generally dumb.

Both hospitalizations and deaths are on the decline in Florida, No magic really, Florida just reached the end of their bell curve of infection as most southern states have.

Unfortunately northern states are at the beginning of their Bell curve and should see infection and hospitalizations skyrocketing.

And due to population and the close proximity lifestyle in most northern large cities, will be far worse
