Democrats must be soooo proud!

Violent liberal children throwing a tantrum!

Demonstrators protested the acquittal of a teen who killed two people and injured another in Wisconsin. The protesters were breaking windows, throwing objects at police and talking about burning down a local government building in downtown Portland, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said. By about 8:50 p.m., about 200 protesters had gathered in downtown Portland and blocked streets. By 9 p.m., windows were broken and doors of city facilities were damaged. The crowd had dispersed by about 11 p.m., KOIN TV reported
In North Carolina, dozens of people gathered Saturday near the state Capitol building to protest the verdict, the Raleigh News & Observer reported. Speakers led the crowd of roughly 75 people in chants of “No justice, no peace!” and “Abolish the police!” Police officers on motorcycle accompanied the protesters and blocked traffic for them as they marched down a street past bars and restaurants.

So I wonder how long it will be until someone says... but Jan 6th.  How many riots causing how much more destruction and injury will we need to have before liberals accept the reality that they pretty much own the concept of political rioting. A few hundred conservatives borrowed it for about 2 hours. But they gave it back, quite obviously!

Biden’s knee-jerk claim that the jury system works further convinced skeptical progressives that the president simply does not recognize the scale of the problems plaguing our courts.

Rittenhouse will face no penalties despite shooting three protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, ultimately killing two. Rittenhouse mounted a self-defense claim for each shooting, arguing that he had been the victim of repeated physical attacks by the protesters that left him in fear for his life that day in August 2020.

For critics on both the left and right, Rittenhouse’s acquittal offered further evidence of the legal deference shown to self-defense claims by white men, leading even conservative pundit Charlie Sykes to opine, “If Kyle were black, he’d be dead.”

Yet Biden, asked for his reaction to the news, immediately affirmed the judicial status quo. “I stand by what the jury has concluded,” he told reporters outside the White House shortly after Judge Bruce Schroeder adjourned the session. “The jury system works.”

It does? While the progressive left may be the loudest voice condemning the Rittenhouse verdict, it’s not alone. Our country has become increasingly skeptical of the judiciary, with only 54 percent of Americans claiming a great or fair amount of trust in our federal courts, compared to 67 percent just a year ago. The Supreme Court is experiencing a historic loss of faith, with only 40 percent of Americans supporting the high court — the lowest number in Gallup’s polling history. And how much you trust juries varies widely based on your race: Back in 2008, a Harris Interactive poll found over two-thirds of white people trusted the inherent fairness of juries compared to just over one-third of Black people.

While Biden was offering reassurance in the wake of the verdict, many prominent Democrats instead spoke to the injustice of what had occurred and the problems inherent in a process built to disadvantage nonwhite Americans.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

This is how he has to keep our country United under the law.

Institutions caught in credibility spirals can sometimes be saved when a respected figure with legitimacy across the political spectrum stands up and restores American confidence in our public servants and process. With Republican lawmakers competing to offer the newly free Rittenhouse an internship and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler calling on the Department of Justice to consider possible federal charges, it’s unlikely such a unifying American figure exists.

Progressives may be fired up about the Rittenhouse verdict and the serious legitimacy challenges facing an increasingly politicized judiciary, but addressing America’s judicial crisis will take at least a generation. Public trust is difficult to gain but easy to squander, and lifetime appointments only drag out the process of replacing judges whose commitment to political party over the law corrodes the entire judicial branch.

Repairing our battered judiciary is popular not only among Democrats. But doing so requires acknowledging that the problem runs deeper than a questionable verdict in a single case. If Biden wants to unite his party and Americans behind a worthy fight, he’ll need to recognize how few people trust our justice system to deliver true justice.

Would someone please tell BLM that the Rittenhouse situation had nothing to do with THEM?

I mean, I can see why they'd be pissed, being completely left out of a particular violent crime and all, but seriously... someone needs to inform these dumb fucks that this time they're on the outside looking in, not involved.

To illustrate all of this i give you the single dumbest fuck of the entire MSDNC lineup, the competition for which is fierce.

If the FBI wanted to arrest members of Antifa, who are actually conducting violence, they could do it easily – with little effort. It is the absence of any action by the FBI toward Antifa, that tells us the FBI is enabling that violent extremist behavior to continue. Once you accept that transparent point of truth; then, you realize the FBI definition of domestic violent extremism is something else entirely.”

It was literally made up shit.

And Rittenhouse was out on bail and the prosecution attempts to limit that bail or revoke it (for a variety of reasons) was denied by the Judge. So that appears to be just a false statement that supposedly backed up a false statement.

It would be like saying that a elderly white man from California beat his Black wife, and police reports demanded as such.... when it could be that neither the former or latter statement was true.

Supply and demand for goods and services increased inflation in the last year or more. But The Wall Street Journal reports that, inflation may decline fairly soon.

Global supply-chain woes are beginning to recede, but shipping, manufacturing and retail executives say that they don’t expect a return to more-normal operations until next year and that cargo will continue to be delayed if Covid-19 outbreaks disrupt key distribution hubs.

In Asia, Covid-related factory closures, energy shortages and port-capacity limits have eased in recent weeks. In the U.S., major retailers say they have imported most of what they need for the holidays. Ocean freight rates have retreated from record levels.

Still, executives and economists say strong consumer demand for goods in the West, ongoing port congestion in the U.S., shortages of truck drivers and elevated global freight rates continue to hang over any recovery. The risk of more extreme weather and flare-ups of Covid-19 cases can also threaten to clog up supply chains again.

An easing of supply-chain choke points would allow production to move toward meeting strong demand and would lower logistics costs. If sustained, that, in turn, would help alleviate the upward pressure on inflation.

-----

In the last two weeks, the President Biden has been working to open the ports in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and San Diego.

This is the only thing the President can do to address inflation rates..

The United States is back

Meanwhile in other actual news coverage of what was happening inside the conference, The Washington Post lede story tells the tale: After going dark on the climate stage, United States reclaims the leadership role at COP26.

It should or could have been a large, banner headline: THE U.S. IS BACK FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE!

“In the sprawling encampment that has housed the United Nations climate talks over the past two weeks, delegates from around the world have praised the United States and condemned (it), but one thing they could not do was ignore the United States,” the Post reports. “The Americans, including 13 Cabinet members, seemed to be everywhere at the conference: speaking on public panels, disappearing into windowless rooms, and huddling in hallways and hotel bars to shape the outcome of the talks to protect the planet, along with U.S. interests.”

“We believe that this is existential,” said U.S. climate envoy John F. Kerry on Friday in a passionate speech on the floor of a plenary meeting. “And for many of you it’s existential today. People are dying. Today,” Kerry said. “All around the world, the impacts are being felt. Today.”

Throughout the closing debates on Saturday, Kerry worked the massive room, the Post says in on the ground reporting, “his 6-foot-4 figure easy to spot towering over other delegates.”

Background

“A year ago, the United States formally withdrew from the climate accord. President Donald Trump had mocked the deal as pleasing Paris rather than Pittsburgh. Biden signed an executive order the first day of his presidency to rejoin. Now the United States is once again, if not indispensable, at least critical, given its diplomatic muscle, financial power and responsibility for its outsize role in contributing to global greenhouse gas emissions that account for 13 percent of the annual total, second only to China.”

While climate talks largely stalled under Trump, Kerry’s approach to climate diplomacy put the United States at the forefront of galvanizing international action, even as Biden’s climate agenda remains stalled in Congress, the Post reports.

“President Biden made an unprecedented commitment to this,” Kerry said Saturday after the climate deal was signed.

City of Waukesha Waukesha parade shooting reports hit Twitter

Waukesha, Wisconsin, police say they "are having an emergency with a scene unfolding" in response to Twitter reports of a car running through a parade and shots being fired.

Police did not confirm that a shooting occurred or the information about a parade. They said the above statement on the emergency and then hung up. That was as of 5 p.m. on November 21, 2021.

"At the Waukesha Holiday parade and a car just broke through the police line, plowing through pedestrians and firing rounds out the window. Family and I are safe. Happened 20 feet in front of us," a man wrote on Twitter.

Kaylee Staral, whose Twitter page describes her as a business reporting intern with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, wrote on Twitter, "UPDATE: A car just ran through the middle of a downtown Waukesha.l parade. Multiple people on the ground injured."

She added: "Police shouting at least 30 people down and that shots were fired."

Staral wrote on Twitter, "Heavy police and ambulance presence now. Tons of families with children running to their cars to leave the scene."

Again, that information is unconfirmed at this point from authorities.

Probably Proud Boys etc.

This is how a real President acts.

The president, meanwhile, spoke repeatedly to Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), one of the two main Senate Democratic holdouts on his social spending legislation. According to two people familiar with the negotiation, it was Biden’s personal appeal that convinced the West Virginia senator to come up from his $1.5 trillion price tag for the reconciliation bill to $1.75 trillion. Though Manchin’s support for every measure within the bill is still not guaranteed, West Wing aides believe he will eventually offer his support for the package.

In talks with his own team, Biden encouraged them to “stay focused” on the bill — occasionally mixing in some salty language to punctuate the exhortation — insisting it would aid Democrats in the midterms.

But one week of positive news does not clear away some dark clouds on the horizon. Though Biden’s $1.75 trillion social services bill — which would extend the child tax credit, expand health care coverage and combat climate change, among other provisions — cleared a major hurdle in the House, it faces an uncertain fate in the Senate. The nation may be awash in vaccines but Covid cases are on the rise, largely among the unvaccinated, and the holiday season and winter months could contribute to increased spread of the virus.

Scott won't do the same thing because he's a cultist .not a conservative person.

The trailer for Tucker Carlson’s special about the Jan. 6 mob at the Capitol landed online on Oct. 27, and that night Jonah Goldberg sent a text to his business partner, Stephen Hayes: “I’m tempted just to quit Fox over this.”

“I’m game,” Mr. Hayes replied. “Totally outrageous. It will lead to violence. Not sure how we can stay.”

The full special, “Patriot Purge,” appeared on Fox’s online subscription streaming service days later. And last week, the two men, both paid Fox News contributors, finalized their resignations from the network.

In some ways, their departures should not be surprising: It’s simply part of the new right’s mopping up operation in the corners of conservative institutions that still house pockets of resistance to Donald J. Trump’s control of the Republican Party. Mr. Goldberg, a former National Review writer, and Mr. Hayes, a former Weekly Standard writer, were stars of the pre-Trump conservative movement. They clearly staked out their positions in 2019 when they founded The Dispatch, an online publication that they described as “a place that thoughtful readers can come for conservative, fact-based news and commentary.” It now has nearly 30,000 paying subscribers.

Their departures also mark the end of a lingering hope among some at Fox News — strange as this is for outsiders to understand — that the channel would at some point return to a pre-Trump reality that was also often hyperpartisan, but that kept some distance from Republican officials. Fox’s chairman, Rupert Murdoch, recently deplored Trumpism while acting as though — as Bloomberg’s Tim O’Brien noted — he didn’t run the company.

The reality of Fox and similar institutions is that many of their leaders feel that the tight bond between Mr. Trump and their audiences or constituents leaves them little choice but to go along, whatever they believe. Fox employees often speak of this in terms of “respecting the audience.” And in a polarized age, the greatest opportunities for ratings, money and attention, as politicians and media outlets left and right have demonstrated, are on the extreme edges of American politics.

Mr. Carlson became the network’s most-watched prime-time host by playing explicitly to that fringe, and “Patriot Purge” — through insinuations and imagery — explored an alternate history of Jan. 6 in which the violence was a “false flag” and the consequence has been the persecution of conservatives.

Mr. Goldberg said that he and Mr. Hayes stayed on at Fox News as long they did because of a sense from conversations at Fox that, after Mr. Trump’s defeat, the network would try to recover some of its independence and, as he put it, “right the ship.”

SUV plows into Wisconsin Christmas parade; multiple injuries

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — An SUV plowed into a Christmas parade in the Milwaukee suburb of Waukesha on Sunday, injuring more than 20 people, the city's police chief said.

Chief Dan Thompson said the investigation was ongoing, but that a “suspect vehicle” was recovered. Some of the injured were taken by police to hospitals, and others were taken by family members, Thompson said.

“We have a person of interest that we are looking into at this time,” Thompson said. It wasn’t clear if the person was in custody; Thompson deferred questions until a later briefing.

Mayor Shawn Reilly told WITI in Milwaukee that he did not believe there was any current danger to the public.

Police in Waukesha, located about 20 miles west of Milwaukee, were urging people to avoid the downtown area.

A live video feed of the parade from the city of Waukesha, as well as videos taken by parade attendees, showed a red SUV breaking through barriers and speeding into the roadway where the parade was taking place.

A video taken along the parade route showed a group of what appeared to be teenage girls dancing with white pompoms and wearing Santa hats. The SUV plows into the group as the person filming shouts, “Oh my God!” over and over. The video shows people tending to at least one of the girls on the ground.

Another video shows the SUV striking what appears to be members of a marching band and several others along the parade route before driving on. The sound of the marching band heard before the SUV approaches is replaced by screams.

Corey Montiho, a Waukesha school district board member, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that his daughter’s dance team was hit by the SUV.

“They were pom-poms and shoes and spilled hot chocolate everywhere. I had to go from one crumpled body to the other to find my daughter,” he said. “My wife and two daughters were almost hit. Please pray for everybody. Please pray.”

Angelito Tenorio, a West Allis alderman who is running for Wisconsin state treasurer, told The Associated Press that he was watching the parade with his family when they saw the SUV come speeding into the area.

“Then we heard a loud bang,” Tenorio said. “And after that, we just heard deafening cries and screams from the crowd, from the people at the parade. And people started rushing, running away with tears in their eyes crying.”

Tenorio said he saw about 10 people, children and adults, on the ground who appeared to have been hit by the vehicle.

“It just happened so fast,” he said. “It was pretty horrifying.”

The parade is sponsored by the city’s Chamber of Commerce. This year’s edition was the 59th of the event that’s held each year the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Waukesha is a western suburb of Milwaukee, and about 55 miles north of Kenosha, where Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted Friday of charges stemming for the shooting of three men during unrest in that city in August 2020.

'Some fatalities' after SUV speeds into Christmas parade

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — An SUV driver sped through a police line and into a parade of Christmas marchers on Sunday, hitting more than 20 adults and children in a horrifying scene captured by the city’s livestream and the cellphones of onlookers.

Waukesha Police Chief Dan Thompson said “some” people had been killed but would not give an exact number. A person was in custody, but police gave no indication of motive.

One video snows a woman screaming, “Oh my God!” repeatedly after a group of girls wearing Santa hats and dancing with white pompoms is struck. Another shows the SUV plowing into members of a marching band, their music replaced with terrified screams

Fire Chief Steven Howard said 11 adults and 12 children were injured and transported to hospitals by his department. It was unknown how many others injured were taken to hospitals by others.

Police also had custody of the vehicle, Thompson said. The investigation was ongoing.

As the SUV broke through barricades, a Waukesha police officer fired his gun in an attempt to stop the vehicle, Thompson said. No bystanders were injured and Thompson said he did not know if the driver was struck by the officer's bullets.

One video shows the moment the SUV broke through the barricades and the sound of what appears to be several gun shots.

The video taken when the pompom dancers got struck ends with a group of people tending to one of the girls who is lying on the ground.

Chris Germain, co-owner of the Aspire Dance Center studio, had about 70 girls in the parade ranging from as young as 2 being pulled in wagons to age 18. Germain, whose own 3-year-old daughter was in the parade, said he was driving at the head of their entry when he saw a maroon SUV that “just blazed right past us.” A police officer came by on foot chasing after, he said. Germain said he jumped out of his own SUV and gathered all his girls.

“There were small children laying all over the road, there were police officers and EMTs doing CPR on multiple members of the parade," he said.

Angelito Tenorio, a West Allis alderman who is running for Wisconsin state treasurer, said he was watching the parade with his family when they saw the SUV come speeding into the area.

Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, who was at the parade but left just before the incident, called it “an unspeakable tragedy, affecting us all as we work to overcome an extremely challenging two years and resume our cherished holiday traditions.”

The Waukesha school district canceled classes Monday and said in a notice on its website that extra counselors would be on hand for students and staff. The parade’s list of entries included cheer, dance and band entries associated with district schools.

Gov. Tony Evers said he and his wife, Kathy, were “praying for Waukesha tonight and all the kids, families, and community members affected by this senseless act.”

As marching bands played and residents lined the street, a driver in a red SUV sped through a holiday parade in Waukesha, Wis., early Sunday evening, plowing into a crowd, leaving more than 20 injured and multiple people dead, city officials said.
Authorities have recovered the suspect’s vehicle and have taken one person into custody, Waukesha Police Chief Dan Thompson said. He did not comment on a possible motive behind the attack and declined to specify the exact number of casualties. The victims, he said, included children.

For Republicans, fealty to Trump’s election falsehood becomes defining loyalty test

For House Republicans, this means that members who have associated with white supremacists, used violent political rhetoric, spread Trump’s false claims about the election and compared pandemic public health restrictions to the Nazis’ treatment of Jews are becoming a bigger part of the party’s public face — a role that may only grow if Trump continues to embrace and publicly boost them.

The current inflation trajectory still looks to be transitoryMonday, November 22, 2021 bill Coronavirus, Inflation 0 Comments

On November 11, 2021, the Bank of International Settlements (BIS) related their BIS Bulletin No. 48 – Bottlenecks: causes and macroeconomic implications – which presents evidence that should help people who are becoming het up about the inflation numbers lately to calm down a bit. On June 8, 2021, the UK Guardian published an Op Ed I had written – Price rises should be short-lived – so let’s not resurrect inflation as a bogeyman – which I stand by. I have been criticised for dismissing the inflation threat and I regularly get E-mails announcing the Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) is ‘over’ and has been proven wrong by the rising inflation rates around the world. Those interventions actually break up my day with ‘humour’ – I am continually amazed how little people know who have such strong opinions. I always adopted the view that you work something out before forming an opinion. In this ‘social media’ era, the working out bit seems to have lapsed and people just jump in. That used to be called blind prejudice. Anyway, the BIS research is interesting and supports my on-going view that the current inflation trajectory still looks to be transitory and the forces that led to the supply bottlenecks will also likely unwind in the other direction to depress price rises.

The supply bottleneck basics

1. Changes in demand and supply is implicated in the rising prices at present.

2. On the supply-side, the pandemic has created:

Bottlenecks in the supply of commodities, intermediate goods and freight transport have given rise to volatile prices and delivery delays.

The bottlenecks have arisen for a number of reasons.

For raw materials, shortages in supply pushed prices up, followed by price falls as supply resumed and/or demand fell.

Shipping costs have risen because “ships have been forced to queue for days to access ports”, which then leads to “clogging distribution across the supply chain”.

Lockdowns have means labour shortages in trucking and air freight, which has pushed up prices.

The contagion effects then move into production where manufacturers have had to slow production to scale with available material inputs.

In turn, retail inventories decline and prices rise to ration demand.

3. The pandemic created disruptions in supply in a number of ways.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Workers could not work.

Asymmetric lockdowns across the globe “disrupted shipping” – meaning that freight could not transit smoothly between ports where lockdown restrictions were different, which led to the queueing of ships, stockpiles of containers in the wrong location, and more.

Importantly, earlier failures to invest in new capacity prior to the pandemic in some industries, meant that as demand fluctuated, capacity was met more quickly.

Running just-in-time systems to minimise short-run costs, has been proven to be inefficient over a longer period, as raw material inventories have been squeezed and productive capacity exhausted quickly by the sudden recovery in demand once the earlier waves of the virus (and the lockdown restrictions) eased.

The point is that the recessions the world experienced in 2020 were unlike the usual cyclical events. A lot of spending was put on hold by restrictions rather than negative consumer sentiment.

Further, the spending shifted towards certain items (like home renovation materials etc) and to on-line purchasing, which quickly altered the demands on supply infrastructure.

The lack of flexibility in shifting supply capacity to meet these very sudden shifts has created these supply bottlenecks.

4. On the demand-side, there is evidence that “rising prices for some items went hand in hand with high volumes”.

So supply was able to meet demand but at higher prices – for example, semiconductor exports.

In part, this relates to “the shift in the composition of demand towards manufactured goods”, which relates to the point I made under (3) above.

The input-output chains in manufacturing are broader than in the services sector.

Given the services sector was hardest hit by the lockdowns, and spending patterns shifted to produced goods, the strain on supply of inputs from ‘other industries’, which supply these manufacturing firms, was sudden and sharp.

Again this relates to point (3) where because produced goods are capital-intensive, earlier failures to maintain growth in productive capacity hit home as the pandemic recoveries ensued.

The point to remember is that the pandemic was a massive, multidimensional disruption that is rarely seen in history.

Major shifts in behaviour were immediate as lockdown restrictions were imposed.

To draw any comparisons between this sudden shifts and a well-planned spending intervention by government in terms of infrastructure building or service delivery reveals a lack of understanding of how things work and are linked.

5. The BIS paper also notes that there was a sudden “behavioural change on the part of supply chain participants”, who started to bring forward purchases to create hoarding stockpiles of materials ‘just in case’.

This is the analogue of the consumers rushing supermarkets in the early days of the lockdowns and buying up all the toilet paper they could get their hands on.

Frenzied buying of this nature exacerbated the supply bottlenecks.

6. Interestingly, the factors that have created these bottlenecks, will also, likely, lead to downward pressures on prices in the coming period.

Downward pressure on inflation is a very important thing for everyone including kputz.

This is why we know that you don't know shit about economic growth and recovery from spending up supplies to reduce inflation pressure..

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) why he says the GOP is "really, really ruining America." Maybe for the same reason those two Fox News contributors quit Fox News?

Well Reverend...

Here is is the thing... unlike you, I actually have an answer.

Because there are still neoconservatives upset that the old Bush foreign policy first nation building concept is no longer in vogue and has been replaced by a more back to the basic conservatism that puts America first.

They have been labeled "never-Trumpers" because Trump is the antithesis to the old neoconservative movement build by the Weekly Standard and National Review. They lost the power struggle and are lashing out.

It's pretty dang simple if you open your eyes...

Now answer my question Reverend?

If the GOP is so bad, why do Americans want them back in charge.

If Trump is so bad, why is he beating Biden in hypothetical match-ups.

Now I know the answer to this... the question is whether or not the "Reverend' has the guts to answer it honestly?

Oh wait... "Reverends" are not inclined to be honest, huh?

Rather he will act clever and answer my question with a question. Like he always dishonestly does.

Fauci: Vaccinated family members can enjoy maskless Thanksgiving;

Fully vaccinated family members can “absolutely” enjoy the holidays together inside without wearing masks despite rising infections rates across most of the nation, Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday.

“Absolutely ... that's what I'm going to do with my family," Fauci said on CNN's State of the Union. "And that's what I think people should do. ... Get vaccinated and you could enjoy the holidays very easily."

Fauci, President Joe Biden's chief medical adviser, also said booster shots are not required to be fully vaccinated – but that public health officials are continuing to monitor the data.
