How deeply embedded are the Feds into all things "white supremacy" ?

Seems like everywhere you are supposed to see white supremacists, you see feds instead?

So we had the recent rally over the Jan 6th prisoners that was 50% FBI workers. We just had what was obviously a staged "white supremacist" rally promoted by a fake twitter account. We had an attempted kidnapping of Governor Whitmer that included mostly FBI agents. It appears now that there are several FBI agents who were personally involved in the storming of the Capital on Jan 6th, possibly even responsible for much of the agitation that led to it.

Biden confronts Putin as tensions escalate over Ukraine
(CNN)President Joe Biden on Wednesday ruled out sending US troops to Ukraine to defend the country from a Russian invasion a day after laying out the consequences for such an incursion during a stern phone call with President Vladimir Putin.

It was Biden's first time describing Tuesday's two-hour conversation, which officials said grew tense at moments as the two men sparred over the massive build-up of 70,000 Russian troops surrounding Ukraine on three sides.

Biden ended the conversation without any further clarity on whether Putin had made up his mind to launch an invasion, officials said afterward.
But a day later, both he and Putin said new diplomatic channels could soon be opened in an attempt to provide an off-ramp to conflict.

Speaking to reporters as he departed the White House for Kansas City, Biden said he warned Putin he would impose sanctions "like none he's ever seen" should the Russian troops massed on Ukraine's border escalate into an assault.

But he said the US would not dispatch its own forces to protect Ukraine, a stance that US officials have previously ruled out as well.

"That is not on the table," he said. "We have a moral obligation and a legal obligation to our NATO allies if they were to attack under Article 5, that's a sacred obligation. That obligation does not extend to ... Ukraine."

Instead, Biden said he told Putin in direct terms that the economic consequences of an incursion would be devastating.

"I was very straightforward. There were no minced words. I was polite but I made it very clear: If, in fact, he invades Ukraine, there will be severe consequences. Severe consequences. Economic consequences like none he's ever seen or ever have been seen, in terms of being imposed," Biden said.
He said he believed his Russian counterpart received the message.
"He knows. His immediate response was he understood that," Biden said.

American officials have previewed a lengthy set of possible sanctions on Russia, including on members of Putin's inner circle and the country's energy sector, as options for Biden as he moves ahead. The President has been coordinating with allies in Europe -- whose countries are tied more closely to Russia economically -- on a joint sanctions effort.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

The consequences of an invasion would go beyond sanctions, however. Biden said he told Putin he would likely have to increase US troop presence in Europe to reassure NATO allies of the United States' continued support if Russia went ahead with an invasion.
Putin has long complained about the presence of NATO troops along Russia's border, alleging they are a threat to his country's security.

Ukraine has been seeking membership in NATO for several years, but is not in the final stages of entering the defense bloc. Biden has said previously the country must first do more to scrub out corruption before joining.

In Tuesday's video call, Putin asked for legally binding language that would prevent Ukraine's ascension to NATO, a red line Biden would not agree to.

But he did agree to hear out Putin's concerns about NATO in a diplomatic format and said Wednesday those talks were likely to begin soon.

"We hope by Friday we'll be able to say, to announce to you that we're having meetings at a higher level, not just with us but with at least four major NATO allies and Russia, to discuss the future of Russia's concerns relative to NATO writ large and whether or not we can work out any accommodations when it comes to bringing down the temperature along the eastern front," he said.

Speaking during his own televised news conference on Wednesday, Putin said he and Biden agreed to continue the security discussions and said Russia would submit parameters for the talks to the United States within a week.

"We agreed that an appropriate structure will be created that will be able to professionally deal with this," Putin said during an appearance in Sochi, the Black Sea resort town from which he participated in Tuesday's video call with Biden.

"The conversation was very open, substantive and constructive. I hope that this is how the American side assesses the results as well. We have the opportunity to continue the dialogue, and I think this is the most important thing," he said.

Members of the white supremacist group Patriot Front march down the National Mall on Dec. 4. (Robert Miller/The Washington Post)

The new Twitter account looked like it came from a smiling blond woman who lives in D.C., retweeting neighborhood news about a Thanksgiving giveaway, a bald eagle sighting and bike lanes near Lincoln Park.

She wrote in her bio that she was a journalist who recently got a dog and loved avocados. She included the hashtag “#DCStatehood.”

Then she finally sent the first tweet of her own: “HAPPENING NOW,” she wrote on Saturday. “About 500 men with riot shields are marching in #WashingtonDC.”

But this was not just a march on the National Mall, by good people on both sides a common occurrence in a city accustomed to protests. The men were part of Patriot Front, a white supremacist group that rebranded after one of its members plowed his car into a crowd of protesters in Charlottesville in August 2017, killing anti-racism protester Heather Heyer. And the Twitter account that announced the march wasn’t real, anti-hate group and disinformation researchers say.

The small march — about 100 people — and the attention it generated, experts said, displayed the ways hate groups such as Patriot Front use the nation’s capital as a backdrop for propaganda materials and manipulate social media to their advantage.

“It shows how a small troupe of fascists in uniform can … exploit the loopholes around a social media company like Twitter and absolutely make themselves look much more fearsome, look much more scary,” said Michael Edison Hayden, senior investigative reporter and spokesman for the Southern Poverty Law Center, “and give themselves a much better shot at getting the mainstream coverage they so desperately crave.”

The group did not have a permit, according to National Park Service spokesman Mike Litterst.

After the brief march, the Twitter account became overtly fascist, changing the display name to “Reclaim America” followed by a link to the websites of Patriot Front and another neo-Nazi propaganda site. The account is now suspended. Twitter did not respond to a request for comment.

So Ch is a propagandist. What else is new?

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

But experts said violent, far-right extremists will continue to leverage social media while seeking recruits and in attempts to intimidate people across the country. The nation’s capital, experts said, remains an attractive location for these hate groups, as it has for generations, including when white-robed Ku Klux Klan members marched down Pennsylvania Avenue in 1925.

“Our nation’s capital, the optics of it are compelling. It’s about the entire country as opposed to any one community,” said Oren Segal, vice president of the Center on Extremism at the Anti-Defamation League. “It’s very possible that Patriot Front will use the backdrop of the Capitol again in the future.”

The group also staged a march in Philadelphia on July 4 and one in Pittsburgh last month, according to SITE Intelligence Group, which studies online extremism. But on Saturday, they traveled from Virginia to the Mall, passing the Lincoln Memorial and marching to the U.S. Capitol, where its leader, Thomas Ryan Rousseau, gave a speech.

D.C. police confirmed that the Patriot Front group marched from Virginia to the Capitol and that officers monitored the protest to “ensure the demonstration remained peaceful.” There were no incidents or arrests, police said.

Rousseau, who grew up in the Dallas suburbs, participated in the violent Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville as a leader with Vanguard America. That group was one of the defendants in a recent federal civil trial. The jury listened to a deposition from Rousseau and specifically ordered Vanguard America to pay $1 million in punitive damages.

On Saturday, Rousseau and his men in khakis marched again, holding a banner that read “VICTORY OR DEATH.” They wore white neck gaiters to cover their faces, with many also wearing sunglasses, hats, brown boots and knee pads, according to videos posted in far-right chat rooms. They held shields and American flags, including some that were turned upside down on poles.

Their chants of “Reclaim America” over the weekend were similar to the 2017 torch-rally call in Charlottesville of “Jews will not replace us!” both stemming from the “Great Replacement Theory,” the conspiratorial idea of an engineered demographic replacement of White Christians that is frequently repeated by right-wing pundits such as Fox News’s Tucker Carlson.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

“What we saw in D.C. was an extension of an effort to remind Americans that the fight against white supremacy isn’t over,” Segal said. “We can’t just sit back and rest after a Charlottesville case. We can’t just sit back and rest after white supremacists are de-platformed. We have to recognize that the battle against white supremacists continues.”

Rousseau could not be reached.

Among Those Who Marched Into the Capitol on Jan. 6: An F.B.I. Informant
A member of the far-right Proud Boys texted his F.B.I. handler during the assault, but maintained the group had no plan in advance to enter the Capitol and disrupt the election certification.

As scores of Proud Boys made their way, chanting and shouting, toward the Capitol on Jan. 6, one member of the far-right group was busy texting a real-time account of the march.

The recipient was his F.B.I. handler.

In the middle of an unfolding melee that shook a pillar of American democracy — the peaceful transfer of power — the bureau had an informant in the crowd, providing an inside glimpse of the action, according to confidential records obtained by The New York Times. In the informant’s version of events, the Proud Boys, famous for their street fights, were largely following a pro-Trump mob consumed by a herd mentality rather than carrying out any type of preplanned attack.

After meeting his fellow Proud Boys at the Washington Monument that morning, the informant described his path to the Capitol grounds where he saw barriers knocked down and Trump supporters streaming into the building, the records show. At one point, his handler appeared not to grasp that the building had been breached, the records show, and asked the informant to keep him in the loop — especially if there was any violence.

The use of informants always presents law enforcement officials with difficult judgments about the credibility and completeness of the information they provide. In this case, the records obtained by The Times do not directly address whether the informant was in a good position to know about plans developed for Jan. 6 by the leadership of the Proud Boys, why he was cooperating, whether he could have missed indications of a plot or whether he could have deliberately misled the government.

Conspiracy theories are nothing new. Historically communicated through gossip and print, today’s misinformation and shared beliefs can be found in newspapers and magazines, on TV, on the radio, and over the internet. Today there are media organizations, false news organizations, and free and pay radio stations dedicated to the proliferation of false beliefs. “Research has shown misinformation tends to spread faster and more widely than factual information, making the internet a fertile breeding ground for conspiracy theories.”

Conspiracy theories start with disbelief in conventional wisdom. When these beliefs are tied to racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, gender, religious, or political identity, they can be addictive and highly resistant to change, because theorists find it impossible to control their compulsion to indulge in conspirative activities. “Researchers have found some people bolster their social identity with the conspiracy theories they ascribe to,” making them popular, famous, and well known. The licensed counselors and therapists of Improving Lives Counseling Services can diagnose and treat addictive behavior in children, teens, adolescents, adults, and seniors.

WHAT IS CONSPIRACY THEORY ADDICTION?

Conspiracy Theory Addiction is a non-substance behavioral addiction. Behavioral addictions are defined as behaviors a patient craves or becomes dependent on. Conspiracy theorists find propagating misinformation and belonging to groups who spread conspiracies calming and often euphoric. “Since we can’t just dismiss conspiracy theories as insignificant, we need to understand the psychological factors that make them so appealing to so many people.” Researchers within the psychiatric community found specific emotions, coupled with a need for ‘cognitive closure’ makes people prone to baseless theories, such as the idea that the Apollo moon landing was a hoax or the
January 6th attacks were orchestrated by the U.S. government. Cognitive Closure, a psychological term, is the desire to find an explanation, or obtain a straight answer, be it true or false.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Highly debated, many identify symptoms of non-substance addiction as signs of a chemical behavior disorder, or mental illness. And although feeling anxious or fearful, an inability to exert control, low self-esteem, a sense of not belonging, alienation, and the need to make sense of life events, can be signs of trauma, stress, or a mental illness, these symptoms have been identified in patients addicted to conspiracy theories. Can conspiracy theories be true? Yes, some theories through research have been found to be true, however, 99% of conspiracy theories have proven to be false.

Transitory is Thecoldheartedtruth

Republicans have pounded Democrats for months over spiking gasoline and grocery costs, a phenomenon they’ve dubbed “Bidenflation.” By the time next year’s elections roll around, that line of attack may lose its punch.

Prices of everything from oil and natural gas to wheat and corn have already started falling from their peaks earlier this year. That trend is likely to continue in 2022, lowering gas prices and stabilizing food costs for consumers, a potential boon for President Joe Biden’s party as it seeks to maintain control of Congress.

For now, consumer prices are still a hot issue, with the government on Friday expected to report another month of decades-high inflation — and the problem won’t disappear next year. Shipping delays that have driven up prices of products like cars and furniture, paired with slow-moving but longer-lasting cost increases such as rent, could spur the Federal Reserve to hike interest rates and curb economic activity. But the prices felt most acutely by voters could be telling a better story for Democrats heading into the midterms.

And I am just passing on information that others have gathered.

But there was no communications found anywhere from the so called Patriot Front group planning any rally. They post their rallies and demonstrations on their website. According to their website, they have not coordinated any rallies or demonstrations since the fourth of July. (anyone can see this).

The only communications regarding the march was from a fake twitter account that just happened to have garnered 1000's of followers and posted information (right as it started) about the march. The Twitter account basically disappeared and renamed shortly after the march.

This was thought to be staged... and unless there is a serious change in how the Patriot Front operates, it does not appear that they planned or are taking any credit for the march.

But... hey... perhaps that is all just a conspiracy "theory" rather than a conspiracy. But no official Patriot Front acknowledgement (when they otherwise always acknowledge their marches). No notification other than a fake twitter account.

Nixon was never convicted for a crime.

But he was impeached because of the question.

What did he know and when did he know it.

The court system has asked the same question.

Appeals court: 'There is a direct linkage' between Trump and Capitol riots.

Brad Reed

December 09, 2021

The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has delivered a unanimous ruling rejecting former President Donald Trump's efforts to keep archived White House records away from the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riots.

One particularly notable part of the ruling comes in the three-judge panel's explanation for why Congress is fully justified in seeking Trump's White House records, as the judges argue that Congress has a direct interest in investigating an attack launched against it.

"The January 6th Committee has also demonstrated a sound factual predicate for requesting these presidential documents specifically," the court writes. "There is a direct linkage between the former President and the events of the day."

READ MOREE: 'No basis': Appeals court unanimously rejects Trump effort to keep Jan. 6 documents secret

The judges then explain how Trump's rhetoric incited supporters to commit acts of violence.

"Then-President Trump called for his supporters to gather in Washington, D.C. for a 'wild' response to what he had been alleging for months was a stolen election," the court argues. "On January 6th, President Trump directed his followers to go to the Capitol and 'fight' for their Country with the aim of preventing Congress’s certification of the electoral vote."

The court also argues that congressional investigators need information about what the White House knew about potential threat assessments leading up to the riot, as the White House serves as "the hub for intelligence about threats of violent action against the government, and the Executive Branch is in charge of federal law enforcement and mobilizing the National Guard to defend the Capitol."

At the end of the day Roger...

We know as a matter of fact, that the last rally (supposedly in support of the Jan 6th prisoners) was made up of mostly undercover law enforcement, who we know as a matter of fact again... ended up arresting each other for carrying weapons.

We know as a matter of fact, that the FBI coordinated the planning and failed execution of the kidnapping of Governor Whitmer. That is a matter of public information.

We can be certain to at least a 95 percent degree that multiple FBI agents have been identified as being "part" of the Jan 6th riots, some in prominent position during the riot. Men were seen on video, never charged, and identified by people as related to or part of the FBI.

Now do we know that the well oiled Patriot Front rally was coordinated by the FBI? No we don't know for sure.

But those people marching both looked like and looked different from the Patriot Front rallies in the past. Some would carry shields, others did not. Some looked tall and in shape. Others, not so much. Some would march in line, others would just sort of walk along.

Just seems odd that they have not taken credit for this rally or that anyone has come up with any evidence of them planning the event.

So maybe I am wrong and they will come out and tell us that this was their elite force and that it was them. Then everyone researching this and saying it was not them will be wrong. I will be wrong for suggesting that they were right.

But this is all starting to add up.

Biden is a failure. I pretty much agree.

How do we move past Reagan?

Every reconstructive president must confront vestiges of the old regime. The slavocracy evaded Lincoln’s grasp by seceding; the Supreme Court repeatedly thwarted F.D.R. Yet they persisted. How?

What each of these presidents had at their back was an independent social movement. Behind Lincoln marched the largest democratic mass movement for abolition in modern history. Alongside F.D.R. stood the unions. Each of these movements had their own institutions. Each of them was disruptive, upending the leadership and orthodoxies of the existing parties. Each of them was prepared to do battle against the old regime. And battle they did.

Social movements deliver votes to friendly politicians and stiffen their backs. More important, they take political arguments out of legislative halls and press them in private spaces of power. They suspend our delicate treaties of social peace, creating turbulence in hierarchical institutions like the workplace and the family. Institutions like these need the submission of subordinate to superior. By withholding their cooperation, subordinates can stop the everyday work of society. They exercise a kind of power that presidents do not possess but that they can use. That is why, after Lincoln’s election, Frederick Douglass called the abolitionist masses “the power behind the throne.”

An independent social movement is what Mr. Biden does not have. Until he or a successor does, we may be waiting on a reconstruction that is ready to be made but insufficiently desired.
