If that is true, I am frankly surprised. I hope it is true and such optimism is not disappointed.

So Reverend...

Started reading the transcript of the Brooks and Capehart.

Had to stop when they falsely claimed that there was zero fraud in this election. That is flat out a blatant lie.

Whether you believe that the Biden's win was illegitimate because of fraud (40% of Americans) or you believe that cheating played a part 60%... you have to close your eyes and let your cognitive dissonance take over to actually believe that there was "no fraud".

Only about 21% "strongly" believe that there was no fraud. That sort of minority doesn't deserve to have this much media coverage.

So... I cannot read someone who bases an entire broad segment on a fantasy.

Sorry.

But this is a great New Year's gift.

Even the conservative majority Republican auditors found our team was able to match the count with a discrepancy of only five ballots.”

Texas officials today released the first-phase findings of an election ‘audit’ demanded by Donald Trump in three counties in which President Joe Biden (along with a fourth) and to the surprise of no one, it was a waste of time and money.

Here’s reporting from TV station 5NBCDFW in a story headlined, “Preliminary Findings of 2020 Election Audit Finds Little Trouble in Big Texas Counties”:

“The office of John Scott, who was appointed Texas Secretary of State in October 2021, said Friday 3,885,875 votes were cast in the November 2020 election in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Harris counties and that those nearly 4 million votes represent approximately 35% of the roughly 11.3 million votes cast statewide.

RELATED: Georgia election officials thoroughly debunk Trump's lies about 50,000 'dead 'voters

“The preliminary report found that out of those nearly 4 million votes in those four counties, there were 17 deceased voters and 60 cross-state duplicate votes. The report also confirmed that the counties were removing deceased voters from voter rolls as expected.”

“First part of Texas’ 2020 election audit reveals few issues, echoes findings from review processes already in place: An initial review of four counties’ election results — launched after pressure from former President Donald Trump and touted by GOP leaders — showed few discrepancies between electronic and hand counts of ballots in a sample of voting precincts.”

The Tribune reported:

“The much-hyped four-county review by the secretary of state’s office, the state agency that oversees elections, was announced in September, just hours after former President Donald Trump publicly pressed Gov. Greg Abbott to add election audit legislation to the agenda for the state’s third special legislative session last fall. As part of his baseless effort to cast doubt on the outcome of his failed reelection bid, Trump’s call came despite the lack of evidence of irregularities in the state’s election — and the fact that he won the state.

“The official overseeing the review, Secretary of State John Scott, previously helped Trump challenge 2020 election results in Pennsylvania. Appointed to the position by Abbott, Scott said in an October interview with The Texas Tribune that President Joe Biden won the 2020 election and that he has “not seen anything” to suggest that the election was stolen from Trump.

“In a statement on Friday, Isabel Longoria, election administrator for Harris County, said the Harris County clerk’s office “processed, checked, and balanced a fair and accurate election in November 2020.” After conducting a hand count of mail-in ballots from the 2020 election, Longoria said her office “found no notable concerns.”

“Conducting a hand-count on a scale as large as the November 2020 election is an intensive process,” Longoria said. “The process included manually sorting 179,174 ballots by precinct, followed by a hand-count for 10 precincts that were designated by the Secretary of State. Despite this challenge, our team was able to match the count with a discrepancy of only five ballots.”

In November 2020, votes from the four counties under review made up about 4 million — or about 35% — of the 11.3 million votes cast statewide.

35% of the state voters.

I reply to Ch at 1:26 above.

Brooks and Capehart present a far more retional picture than you do, Ch, ever since you have lost all pretense for real objectivity.

But I wish even you, Ch-of-Questionable-Truth, a happier New Year.

It would help, however, if you and all other climate deniars and election of Biden deniars and unquestioning supporters of Trump and the present form of the GOP would make a resolution in the new year to TRY at least to be more objective and truthful regarding the serious matters facing our nation.

I encourage all the rest of you to watch the entire video or read the entire transcrpt of what Brooks and Capehart have to say. (See 11:09 above.)

C.H. Truth said...

Sure Reverend....

When you are actually willing to look at your extreme view of no fraud as the minority opinion (21%) - then we can talk about objectivity.

I have written several articles that nobody here or anywhere have disputed on fact. The Arizona audit was basically ignored or flat out lied about by the media.

There is an actual real reason that over 30 states have or are introducing new laws that offer more security into their election process and there is an actual real reason why nearly 70% of Americans support them.

It's not because 250 million Americans are gaslighted by Donald Trump.

The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun

By Matea Gold
January 20, 2017

The effort to impeach President Donald John Trump is already underway.

At the moment the new commander in chief was sworn in, a campaign to build public support for his impeachment went live at ImpeachDonaldTrumpNow.org, spearheaded by two liberal advocacy groups aiming to lay the groundwork for his eventual ejection from the White House.

That story went up at 12:19 PM on inauguration day 2017. Trump had barely finished his speech, let alone did anything impeachable.

So go fuck yourself alky.

Psychology Today article

If you suspect someone you know may have been brainwashed, look for these telltale signs

1. They act personally offended when someone criticizes their favorite political leader.
Even questioning their political hero can unleash their anger and venom, as if you’d said something nasty about their mom. They seem to have fused their identity with the politician’s, so political criticism is a personal affront.

2. They assume everyone in the opposing party is an idiot.
What else could explain why others disagree with them about issues like COVID, the economy, or racism? A person would have to be pretty stupid to see things differently.

3. They assume bad motives by those in the other party.
Rather than being stupid (or in addition to), the other side must “be un-American,” or even “hate America.” People who disagree with them couldn’t possibly be acting in good faith, and want the best for our country like they do.

4. They agree with every single position their party takes.
It’s unlikely that a free-thinking adult would be in 100% agreement with their political party, given the range of issues that make up a party’s platform*. And yet you know with certainty how this person feels about any given issue based on their party affiliation—even for issues that are hard to predict based on party principles. If their party changes position on an issue, your friend changes with them.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

5. They love it when something makes the other party look bad—even if it's bad for the country.
They’re pleased with any outcome that helps their political team, even if that means the economy tanks, or a military engagement goes badly, or rival nations influence our political system. Political calculation eclipses any other consideration.

6. They favor anti-American practices if they benefit their party.
In the same vein, they’re okay with stifling free speech or denying someone equal protection under the law. They’re even able to spin these practices as somehow being patriotic and “for the good of the nation.”

7. They cut off ties with people who differ from them politically.
They can’t imagine being friends with someone from a different political party and are willing to end relationships when someone fails their political litmus test.

8. They get all their news from a single source—which they swear is unbiased.
Whether they’re fans of CNN or Fox News, Breitbart or Slate, they assume they’re getting an unfiltered reporting of facts. Only idiots would watch the fake news on the other end of the spectrum (see #2 above).

9. They can't name a single action their favorite politician has taken that they disagree with.
Their devotion feels more like religious fervor than political preference. The only possible mistake their political savior could make would be to concede anything to the opposition.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

deeming quality in the other party's politicians.
Politicians on the other side are seen as all bad—arrogant, irritating, unreasonable, hypocritical—everything that their party’s politicians aren’t. If pressed to find something positive, they might come up with a backhanded compliment, like, “They’ve been very effective at getting half of the American public to buy into a false narrative.”

11. Truth is less important to them than whether something helps their party.
They’re willing to bend the truth or repeat outright lies, as long as it’s consistent with their party’s position. They routinely fact-check the opposition, but never their own side.

12. They automatically believe and forward/share/retweet every conspiracy theory about the opposition, no matter how ridiculous and false.
When it's pointed out to them that it’s a hoax, they don’t concede the point, saying instead that it sounds exactly like what their political enemies would do. They remain gullible to subsequent conspiracy theories that are equally false.

13. Their political views take precedence over their seemingly deep religious or spiritual convictions.
They seem willing to overlook obvious contradictions between their faith and their politics, always deferring to the latter—or finding tortured ways to try to reconcile the two. For example, they ascribe to Buddhist principles yet approve of violence against their political enemies; or, they profess to be a follower of Christ, but disregard his charge to "love your enemies" and "do good to them that hate you" (Matthew 5:44).

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

14. They assume that everyone who disagrees with them must be brainwashed.
It’s easy for them to see others’ bias while seeing themselves as the lone freethinker. Similar to the fundamental attribution error, they attribute their own beliefs to carefully thinking through each issue, while others’ views are attributed to their party loyalty.

Scoring: Each item gets a single point; simply add them up to find your friend’s score. The probability that your friend is brainwashed is roughly as follows:

0-4: Low
5-9: Moderate
10-14: High Scott Johnson

If you're interested in helping to undo political polarization and find common ground, consider learning more about groups like More in Common, which aims to "strengthen democratic societies against the threats of polarization and division," or Beyond Conflict, with the goal of "national reconciliation in the aftermath of division and violence."
