These are the Justices that the left wants to see making decisions?

If you cannot make a logical argument. Then make an untrue illogical one.

  • Sotomayer states that there are 100,000 children in the hospital right now with Covid with many on ventilators. The actual number of children in the hospital with Covid is around 3000 and that includes children in for other reasons who tested positive for Covid. There are no reports of any on ventilators.
  • Sotomayer also claims that deaths are at an all time high. The highest over the past couple of weeks was just over 2400. We had multiple days last winter over 4000.
  • Sotomayer claimed that Omicron is deadlier than Delta.
  • Sotomayer compared humans to machines?
  • Sotomayer demands that OSHA is actually a "police power".
  • Kagan demands that vaccinations prevents any transmission. Apparently she believes that only unvaccinated can give Covid to other unvaccinated.
  • Breyer claims that we had 750,000 million cases yesterday.

This is what happens when passion and partisanship interfere with logic. Things were so bad that Justice Roberts had to step in and correct misstatements. This is likely a 6-3 decision against the Biden mandates.

Why are Caucasians Vanisihing in TV Commercials?

By Anonymous

Commercials take up 27% of commercial television screen time and are the main source of income for TV and radio stations. In most cases, advertisements on all channels appear simultaneously, so don't try to change the channel, there will be commercials elsewhere, too. Nowadays they have also taken over the Internet. For a financial support, websites have to run ads on their pages, the largest share supplied and controlled by Google. Ads pry into your eyes, unceremoniously interfere with text, and on YouTube, in the most inappropriate places they cut into the action of films, lectures and concerts, tearing apart musical performances. There's no escaping commercials, we've grown accustomed to them, and they become almost as much a part of our lives as food, toilets, and sleep.

In the United States today, the White population (not including Hispanics) is 57.8%. In real life Caucasians are still in the majority, but now on TV and the Internet they are swept under the rug like trash. Blacks compose 14% of the U.S. population but appear in 50% of commercials. White actors now appear for promotion of health insurance, gold, loans and some medicines. Moreover, if a White person appears in a commercial, he/she is usually old, sick, a freak, or at the very least, an appendage to a Black partner. If there's a doctor on the screen, he's usually Black, while the patient is usually White. Caucasian young men appear in only 4% of the commercials! If some aliens began to study the population of Planet Earth through our TV commercials they would have a somewhat distorted picture of Americans, to put it mildly.

Rocket Martgage 2021 Super Bowl commercial

So why do advertisers ignore the long-standing rules of marketing, and to the detriment of their own financial interests, fill the media space with content that displaces and degrades its biggest market segment? The answer is simple. At the heart of this nonsense is political correctness in a form even an Orwell could not have foreseen.  Business executives go out of their way to publicly show their conformity with the universal “diversity” and "critical racial theory" (CRT), demanding that the White man be blamed for all the sins one can imagine.  Replacing ancient, long-vanished oppression of Blacks with real oppression of Whites, overcompensating and planting racism-in-reverse.

Why does the White population, which is still in the majority in the U.S., accept the banishing and belittling obediently and silently?  Why is there no public criticism, much less resistance to the idiocy? Why don’t people don’t tell political correctness to go to hell? After all, the U.S. is not Stalin's USSR, and anyone who disagrees with the party is not yet sent to a camp or shot. Why is there such stifling conformity among the American people, formerly known for their independence and freedom of speech? The answer is simple and sad: the reason is fear, albeit on a more vegetarian level than it was under the Soviet rule.

January 6th was just a distraction.

By The Editors, RealClearInvestigations

The one-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot arrives this week with Americans still sharply divided over the afternoon-long episode’s significance and severity as Democrats, hemorrhaging support and facing the loss of Congress in this year's midterms, sternly present a media spectacle of public events to emphasize what they see as the threat posed to democracy by Donald Trump and his party, as represented by that day.

There is no comparable scrutiny of the nationwide summer 2020 riots over George Floyd’s murder, protests endorsed by many on the left amid a virulent pandemic -- although polling has shown that a large majority of Americans support examining the circumstances of both events.

RealClearInvestigations has developed the comparison database below allowing readers to draw their own conclusions -- including the all-but-forgotten riot in Washington on Inauguration Day 2017, as protesters challenged Trump’s election and legitimacy.

Highlights:

The summer 2020 riots resulted in some 15 times more injured police officers, 23 times as many arrests, and estimated damages in dollar terms up to 1,300 times more costly than those of the Capitol riot.Authorities have pursued the largely Trump-supporting Capitol rioters with substantially more vigor than suspected wrongdoers in the earlier two cases, and prosecutors and judges alike have weighed Capitol riot defendants’ political views in adjudicating their cases.Dozens of accused Capitol rioters have been held in pretrial detention for months, where they have allegedly been mistreated. In the summer 2020 riots, the vast majority of charges were dismissed, as they were in the Inauguration 2017 unrest. Prosecutors have dropped a single Capitol riot case.

Florida reported 76,887 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the highest daily number of the pandemic, and the number of hospital patients with the virus passed 9,000, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.

The increase in cases comes as a record 151,725 tests are being reported on average per day as of Dec. 30, the most recent data available for testing rates. The state’s average for daily cases has increased for 41 consecutive days, revised CDC data shows, reaching 56,760 as of Friday.

On Thursday, 9,034 patients in Florida hospitals had COVID-19, the highest number since Sept. 17 and a 120% increase since two weeks earlier, data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services shows. The number includes patients admitted with the virus and those who tested positive while hospitalized.

Trump violated the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871,

A U.S. Capitol Police officer filed a lawsuit against former president Donald Trump on the first anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack, accusing Trump of causing emotional and physical pain, including a concussion, during last year’s riot — the latest in a litany of litigation from law enforcement against him.
Briana Kirkland is demanding “accountability for Trump’s central role in inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection,” according to the lawsuit filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Washington. The officer was forced to take a year off work after suffering a traumatic brain injury while fending off the pro-Trump mob that breached the Capitol, the complaint says. At one point, she was outnumbered 450 to 1 at one of the Capitol doors and was armed with only a baton, the lawsuit alleges.
She argues that Trump did little to end the insurrection and that his “provocative words and actions leading up to and on Jan. 6, 2021, were likely to incite and provoke violence in others and did in fact incite and provoke violence directed” at her.
“As the leader of this violent mob, who took their cues from his campaign rhetoric and personal tweets and traveled from around the country to the nation’s capital at Trump’s invitation for the January 6 rally, Trump was in a position of extraordinary influence over his followers, who committed assault and battery on Briana Kirkland,” the 51-page complaint says. “Trump, by his words and conduct, directed the mob that stormed the Capitol and assaulted and battered Briana Kirkland.”
Kirkland, 29, who has five years of service with the Capitol force and returned to work only this week, accuses Trump of multiple offenses, including directing assault and battery, as well as aiding and abetting assault and battery. She is seeking at least $75,000 in damages.
Patrick Malone, Kirkland’s attorney, told The Washington Post that Kirkland’s complaint was one of several lawsuits related to Jan. 6 filed this week on behalf of officers of the Capitol Police and D.C. police forces. Capitol Police officer Marcus J. Moore and D.C. police officers Bobby Tabron and DeDivine K. Carter are also calling for accountability for Trump’s actions. The lawsuits assert that Trump violated the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, which prohibits mob violence aimed at obstructing the operations of the federal government and its officers, Malone said.

Huge Majority Say U.S. Faces Mental Health Crisis
7:55 am EST

“An overwhelming majority of Americans believe the U.S. is in the grips of a full-blown mental health crisis,” according to a new USA Today/Suffolk University poll.

“Nearly two years into the Covid-19 pandemic, which brought a rise in depression, anxiety, stress, addiction and other challenges, almost nine in ten registered voters believe there’s a ‘mental health crisis’ in the nation.”

Kamala Harris Says We Have Reached ‘Level of Malaise’

Vice President Kamala Harris told PBS that she knows many have reached “a level of malaise” nearly two years into the pandemic.

Said Harris:
“We want to get back to normal, but we must do the work of pushing through with solutions… let’s meet the challenges where they are.”

CDC Director Seeks to Reshape Message
7:42 am EST

Washington Post:
“The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention took a calculated gamble Friday as she sought to assume greater control over confused public health messaging about the coronavirus as the pandemic enters its third year.

“Rochelle Walensky held her first solo covid-19 news conference since becoming the chief of the public health agency nearly a year ago, vowing that it would be ‘the first of many.’”

Airlines Slammed by Omicron Surge
7:35 am EST

Washington Post:
“The disruption for airlines and travelers is on track to become the most severe since more than 56,000 flights were canceled in a single week at the outset of the pandemic, when people didn’t want to fly. A triple whammy of robust demand for holiday travel, staffing shortages triggered by a surge in coronavirus cases and bouts of wintry weather at airline hubs has ushered in one of the worst periods for air travelers in years.

“More than two weeks later, the surge in daily flight cancellations has shown no signs of abating: Some airlines have announced schedule cuts through the end of the month as they fight to recover.”

Biden and Boris Johnson Are In Sync on Virus Policy
7:31 am EST

New York Times:
“It was a striking, if unintended, display of synchronicity from two leaders who began with very different approaches to the pandemic, to say nothing of politics. Their convergence in how to handle the Omicron variant says a lot about how countries are confronting the virus, more than two years after it first threatened the world.

“For Mr. Johnson and Mr. Biden, analysts said, the politics and science of Covid have nudged them toward a policy of trying to live with the virus rather than putting their countries back on war footing. It is a highly risky strategy: Hospitals across Britain and parts of the United States are already close to overrun with patients. But for now, it is better than the alternative: Shutting down their economies again.”

Restaurants Seek Aid as Omicron Surges
7:27 am EST

“Small restaurants are heading back to Congress for help, saying their challenges are worsening as the Omicron variant drives a surge in Covid-19 cases across the country,”
the Wall Street Journal reports.

“Nearly two years into the pandemic, U.S. restaurants and bars are dealing with higher costs, accumulating debts and customers fearful of the latest virus variants.”

According to a report from the Guardian's Hugo Lowell, the House select committee investigating the Jan 6th Capitol riot is changing directions and focusing on criminal conspiracy charges against Donald Trump and possible Republican lawmakers.

Following the first anniversary of the riot that sent lawmakers fleeing for their lives as supporters of the president overwhelmed Capitol police and stormed the halls of Congress, the report notes that several thousand text messages handed over to the committee by former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows have provided investigators with a possible pathway to make conspiracy charges stick.

"The committee’s new focus on the potential for a conspiracy marks an aggressive escalation in its inquiry as it confronts evidence that suggests the former president potentially engaged in criminal conduct egregious enough to warrant a referral to the justice department," Lowell wrote. "House investigators are interested in whether Trump oversaw a criminal conspiracy after communications turned over by Trump’s former chief of staff Mark Meadows and others suggested the White House coordinated efforts to stop Biden’s certification, the sources said."

The report adds that the investigation is also expanding to Republican lawmakers whose names popped up in the Meadows' texts, with Lowell explaining, "The fact that the select committee has messages suggesting the Trump White House directed Republican members of Congress to execute a scheme to stop Biden’s certification is significant as it could give rise to the panel considering referrals for potential crimes."

"The select committee believes, the sources said, that Trump may be culpable for an obstruction charge given he failed for hours to intervene to stop the violence at the Capitol perpetrated by his supporters in his name," the report continues. "But the select committee is also looking at whether Trump oversaw an unlawful conspiracy that involved coordination between the 'political elements' of the White House plan communicated to Republican lawmakers and extremist groups that stormed the Capitol."

Adding, "That would probably be the most serious charge for which the select committee might consider a referral," Lowell revealed that, to date, "investigators are yet to find evidence tying Trump personally to the Capitol attack, the sources said, and may ultimately only recommend referrals for the straight obstruction charge."

January 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm EST s

“The Supreme Court on Friday appeared likely to curtail the Biden administration’s most sweeping mandate for COVID-19 vaccinations,”
Axios reports..

“A majority of the justices seemed to believe that the Biden administration’s rules, which require employers to mandate vaccines or testing for the workers, are too broad.”

According to CNN's Jamie Gangel, the decision by Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) to divulge information about what the House select committee investigating the January 6th riot has acquired so far is "bad news for Donald Trump."

Speaking with hosts Jim Sciutto and Bianna Golodryga, Gangel explained that the Wyoming Republican's words were intended as a "warning" that White House insiders are turning on the ex-president.

On Sunday, Cheney told ABC News, "The Committee has firsthand testimony now that he was sitting in the dining room next to the Oval Office watching the attack on television as the assault on the Capitol occurred."

Asked to explain Cheney's motivation to go public, Gangel stated, "First of all, let's put it out there : this is bad news for Donald Trump."

"In addition to what Congresswoman Cheney said, a person with knowledge of the investigation has told me the January 6th committee has information from multiple sources with firsthand knowledge," she added. "So not just one source, and that these sources describe what the president was saying, doing and not doing during the riot."

"The source said 'there's a collection of people with relevant information.' Translation? Firsthand indicates someone with direct contact or knowledge," she elaborated. "It could be someone who is in the room, someone on the phone, someone with direct firsthand information. Bottom-line? The committee has broken through Trump's wall."

A convicted felon cannot run for President.

His libertarian views make Scott happy.

No one is the boss of Justice Gorsuch. Like his colleagues, he had a choice about whether to wear a mask. Unlike them, he chose poorly.

Wearing a mask is the decent thing to do — especially when you are around vulnerable individuals. This is true even if it is not required, as it would be if Gorsuch were to pop into the grocery store to pick up some milk on his way home, or if he were to be in an ordinary workplace in the District.

If, as Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, “taxes are what we pay for civilized society,” mask-wearing is the cost of a respectful one, where we do unto others.
This is not the Gorsuch way. He doesn’t like being told what to do. Listen to his comments in the case involving vaccine mandates for staff at hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions that take Medicare and Medicaid funds — and his repeated invocation of how the government was trying to “control” employees. That’s a phrase from the statute at issue, but it’s also a notion that seemed to particularly exercise the libertarian Gorsuch.

“Could [the government] also implement regulations about exercise regimes, sleep habits, medicines and supplements that must be ingested by hospital employees in the name of health and safety?” he asked.
The sad part here is that Gorsuch is more emblem than outlier. The pandemic has brought out the best in some of us, but the worst — the most selfish and irresponsible — in too many others. This “you’re not the boss of me” immaturity has made a difficult period even harder.
Actions that should be understood as minor inconveniences desirable for the greater good have somehow been transformed into intolerable incursions on liberty. Being required to wear a mask has assumed symbolic resonance far in excess of any reasonable objection.

No one is the boss of Justice Gorsuch. Like his colleagues, he had a choice about whether to wear a mask. Unlike them, he chose poorly.

In regards to the safety of others, the libertarian views endangers the lives of millions in regards to medical issues.

Briana Kirkland is demanding “accountability for Trump’s central role in inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection,” according to the lawsuit filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Washington.

Sounds like garden variety tort. Instead a violation of civil rights law.. Not predicting he will win.
