Not a single Democratic Senator willing to admit that Joe Biden is a crazy old demented man who has misled the country into a horrible abyss....

According to some, politicians not agreeing with

Instead of responding to propaganda classes.

It appears that this will slow the economy a little bit, because the job creation is growing at the fastest rate since 1969.. But it will reduce inflation rates, and coupled with the demand crisis that Sleepy Joe Biden has addressed..it will decrease inflation by the end of fall season.

Rate hikes, tapering ahead
As expected, the Fed’s policymaking group following the December meeting kept its benchmark interest rate anchored near zero. However, officials also indicated that they foresee up to three quarter-percentage point increases in 2022, as well as another three hikes in 2023 and two more the year after that.

Officials at the meeting indicated that inflation gauges “had been higher and were more persistent than previously anticipated,” the minutes stated. While members said they think growth will be “robust” in 2022, they also said inflation poses a strong risk, perhaps even more so than the pandemic.

Consequently, they said it would be time to tighten policy sooner than anticipated.

“Some participants judged that a less accommodative future stance of policy would likely be warranted and that the Committee should convey a strong commitment to address elevated inflation pressures,” the minutes said.

Along those lines, the committee announced it would speed up the tapering pace of its monthly bond-buying program. Under the new plan, the program would now end around March, after which it would free up the committee to start hiking rates.

Current fed fund futures market pricing is indicating about a 2-to-1 chance of the first hike coming in March, according to the CME’s FedWatch Tool. Traders figure the next increase would come in June or July, followed by a third move in November or December.

Fed officials indicated that the reasoning behind the moves was in response to inflation that is higher and more persistent than they had figured. Consumer prices are rising at their fastest pace in nearly 40 years.

The Fed is trying to catch up with inflation dumbass. Trum.p had wage growth greater than inflation. Biden's is less than inflation. Everything is getting more expensive. That's not a good thing.

Pence aides 'particularly cooperative' in providing January 6 committee info on Trump's activity: report

Matthew Chapman

January 05, 2022

On Wednesday, Axios reported that aides to former Vice President Mike Pence have been "particularly cooperative" in giving the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol information on former President Donald Trump's activity during the events of that day.

"At the one-year mark of the insurrection, the committee is piecing together a definitive timeline of how Trump resisted pleas from his own advisers, allies, family members and lawmakers to halt the violence down Pennsylvania Avenue," reported Alayna Treene. "The committee is ramping up its closed-door work with the goal of holding public hearings as early as this spring. Many Pence-world witnesses have testified without a subpoena, according to one source with direct knowledge of the closed-door hearings."

Among those who have provided information is former Pence chief of staff Marc Short, as well as former Pence communications director Alyssa Farrah and former National Security Adviser Keith Kellogg, who was with Pence during the insurrection.

RELATED: Stephanie Grisham says she 'cooperated fully' with Jan. 6 committee and 'will continue to' she might have information...

"Some of the most helpful information has come from second- and third-tier staff who were not directly involved but were at the White House on Jan. 6 and had access to top administration officials, sources tell Axios," the report continued. "They’ve been integral to helping piece together exactly what happened that day, one committee aide said. Many of those officials met solely with the committee's Republican members, Reps. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), two sources with direct knowledge said."

Pence, who held a ceremonial role in counting the electoral votes, was a particular target of the insurrectionists, who led chants calling for his lynching after he concluded he didn't have the constitutional authority to refuse to count President Joe Biden's votes — something that Trump actually defended after the fact. The incident has led to a fracturing of the relationship between Trump and his former running mate.

Pence is rumored to be considering a presidential run in 2024, although analysts believe he would have serious problems winning over Trump supporters still enraged that he didn't help overturn the 2020 election, especially if he cooperates with the investigation himself.

It's impossible to know for sure what Sean Hannity meant by "January 6th happening the way he is being told" but according to a number of accounts this was when Trump's henchmen were hatching their plot to have Republicans in Congress object to the electoral count and have Pence throw the election to the House of Representatives where Trump would win despite losing through legitimate means. In other words, the coup was being planned.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Marc Short, the top aide to Vice-President Mike Pence, is cooperating with the January 6th Select Committee.

Marc Short was present at the meeting when Donald Trump and John Eastman tried to convince Mike Pence not to allow the electors from some states to cast their vote in a Joint Session of Congress as mandated in the Constitution, and not to certify the winner of the Electoral College vote as the 46th President of the United States as mandated by the Constitution.

Conspiring to overthrow the government is sedition. Sedition is a felony. Every individual who pressured Vice-President Pence to ignore the Constitutionally mandated process for the peaceful transfer of power, faces legal jeopardy.

If we can trust the words of Peter Navarro, he has confirmed that he and Steve Bannon conspired with Ted Cruz and Paul Gosar to block certification of the Electoral College vote.

The Navarro-Bannon-Gosar-Cruz conspiracy required Mike Pence to refuse to accept electors from some Red states that voted for Biden, but had Republican legislatures that would—if Pence refused to seat the Biden electors—recall the electors chosen by the voters and replace them with Trump electors chosen by state legislators.

For their part, Cruz and Gosar convinced over 100 Congressional Republicans to join the conspiracy by voting to reject the Electoral College vote. The name of each Congressional co-conspirator is a permanent part of the Congressional Record.

Pence—placing his life in danger—refused to steal the election for Donald Trump. The planned “bloodless coup” exploded into a bloody insurrection with the attack of a seditious mob called to Washington by Donald Trump, incited to violence by Donald Trump, and directed to attack a Joint Session of Congress by Donald Trump.

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden will deliver a speech Thursday in the heart of the U.S. Capitol to mark the first anniversary of the insurrection there.

One year ago, former President Donald Trump incited a mob of his supporters, and encouraged them to storm the Capitol in an attempt to stop Congress from certifying the electoral votes for Biden’s 2020 presidential win.

Five people died, hundreds of law enforcement officers were injured — four later died by suicide — and congressional staff, lawmakers, police and journalists were traumatized. One woman was shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer when she tried to breach the House speaker’s lobby.

On Thursday, Biden will also be joined by Vice President Kamala Harris at the Capitol. They will speak at 9 a.m. in Statuary Hall, which rioters walked through the day of the attack, shouting and waving flags, including a Trump campaign banner.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is also set to hold a private moment of reflection on the House floor with staff that were present on Jan. 6. She will also have a moment of silence on the House floor soon after.

Later in the day, Pelosi, along with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and several historians, will host a discussion in the Cannon Caucus Room about how to preserve the narrative of events that occurred on Jan. 6.

Some members of Congress are expected to relate their personal Jan. 6 experiences following the discussion, and a prayer vigil will end the day at 5:30 p.m. Most events are scheduled to be carried by C-SPAN.

The former president was set to issue a video statement on Thursday, but has now canceled it.

Trump was impeached for a second time, on the grounds of inciting the insurrection. Only 10 Republicans joined House Democrats in a 232-197 vote.

A recent poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that about 3 in 10 Republicans say the attack on the Capitol was not violent, while 9 in 10 Democrats considered the day violent.

The Justice Department has opened hundreds of cases and directed prosecutors to issue a slew of sedition and conspiracy charges against pro-Trump rioters. Some of those insurrectionists are waiting for their trials in D.C. jails.

Congressional hearings and investigations into the attack on the Capitol have been ongoing for a year. Schumer on Wednesday spoke during a Senate Rules Committee oversight hearing about security improvements made by the U.S. Capitol Police.

“January 6th was not merely a senseless act of mob violence that sprung up spontaneously,” he said. “It was an attempt to reverse, through violent means, the outcome of a free and fair election.

“And make no mistake: the root cause of January 6th is still with us today,” he continued. “It is the Big Lie pushed by Donald Trump that is undermining faith in our political system and making our democracy, our country, less safe.”

Trump has continued to make false claims that the presidential election was stolen, and Republicans in  state legislatures have used those claims to enact and introduce strict voting requirements. It’s a trend that has concerned Democrats as they struggle to pass voting rights legislation.

Pelosi established a special commission to investigate the attack — similar to one created in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Only two Republicans sit on the committee, Reps. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois. The select committee to investigate the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has issued subpoenas to former Trump aides, House Republicans and Fox News anchors.

There Was No Insurrection But There Was A Coup

By Vince Coyner

The debate is over. After a year spent investigating claims of election fraud, the media has determined that any fraud in the 2020 election was too insignificant to have changed the outcome and Joe Biden legitimately won. Now we can get back to our normal lives, or whatever passes for normal now…except that’s fiction.

In 44 BC, Roman Senators murdered Caesar, claiming they acted to protect the Republic. In fact, they simply sought power. Their coup d’état put the final nail in the coffin of a republic that had been dead in deed, if not name, for decades.

Coup d’états differ from revolutions in that they’re generally orchestrated by or include people within government who seize power—often by narrowly using or just threatening violence—resulting in a rapid transition of power. Revolutions are often longer affairs that include much of a country’s population and exponentially more bloodshed.

Most coups try to keep much of the society and government apparatus intact, merely changing who’s in charge. This illusion of continuity is intended to gain the population’s acquiescence by avoiding the appearance of a bloody civil war.

And that’s exactly what we got. While Donald Trump does not lie in a bloody toga on the floor of the Senate, America witnessed a coup d’état equally as vicious. Many will deny one took place because their guy won but, make no mistake, virtually every American knows one did, even if only 56% admit it.

The moment the coup began to reveal itself Americans knew something was amiss. Many went to bed on November 3rd believing that Trump was leading in enough states to secure an electoral victory, including in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, and Wisconsin. Strangely, however, while America slept, densely populated Democrat counties like Fulton (Atlanta) in Georgia and Allegheny (Pittsburgh) in Pennsylvania “stopped counting“ votes only to “restart” later when Biden suddenly got enough votes to swing the state blue. Similarly, Philadelphia stopped “reporting” at 1 AM and later announced Biden had won the state.

The morning of the 4th, as cries of fraud came from red areas across the country, the side that cried “election fraud” for four years suddenly fell silent. Apparently, 2020 had become the “most legitimate election in American history“.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The coup did not fail.

The most threatening aspect of January 6th was not the ferocious attack on the Capitol but the response of Republican officeholders thereafter. Even after the unleashing of medieval mob violence; even after the erection of a gallows; even after members had been forced to run for their lives; even after the deaths and injuries; even after all of that and more, 147 Republican members of Congress voted not to certify Joe Biden as the winner of the presidency.”

“The transformation of the GOP from a political party into an authoritarian personality cult became official that day. McCarthy’s bootlicking visit to Mar-a-Lago in late January 2021 merely provided the visual.

Rewriting the narrative

The whitewashing of Jan. 6 began that very night.
Just hours after the insurrection — which resulted in five deaths, including a police officer — 139 House members and eight senators returned to the desecrated Capitol and voted to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
Trump and his allies, too, began rewriting the narrative almost immediately.
Some falsely claimed leftist “antifa” protesters were behind the violence. Others falsely argued there was very little violence on Jan. 6 or, as Rep. Andrew S. Clyde (R-Ga.) claimed, the riot was simply “a normal tourist visit.” And some Republicans rebranded those arrested in the aftermath of the insurrection as “political prisoners.”
Trump and his supporters have also sought to make a martyr of Ashli Babbitt, the rioter who was shot and killed on Jan. 6 by a Capitol Police officer as she tried to climb through a broken window into the Speaker’s Lobby — the hallway just off the House chamber, from which lawmakers were still being evacuated.
Trump has described her death as a murder, and called for “justice” for Babbitt. In a posthumous birthday video he taped for her, the former president called Babbitt “a truly incredible person” and offered his “unwavering support” to her family. Babbitt’s mother and brother have said in recent interviews with The Post that they believe Trump is critical to drawing attention to her death — and reframing the public’s understanding of the day — and they continue to support him.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Friends, and I mean that.

The words “anniversary” or “commemoration” do not appropriately characterize this day. What occurred a year ago is nothing to be memorialized, nothing to glorify.

What happened on January 6, 2021 was frightening and shameful. That date shall live in infamy — like December 7, 1941 and 9/11. The difference is that on those days the United States was attacked by foreign powers, whereas on this date the United States was attacked by Americans — some waving American flags, most of them loyal to the man who had lost the presidential reelection the previous November 3 but who did not concede his loss and continues to argue the presidency was stolen from him.

Besides paying our respects to the families of the five people who lost their lives in the attack on the Capitol, as well as to those who still bear its psychological scars — Capitol police officers, and members of congress who remain traumatized by what occurred — it is also important to acknowledge the trauma to our nation. The trauma continues to some extent in each of us today.

The perpetrators must be held accountable. Trump must be held accountable. Members of congress who conspired with him must be held accountable. The only way we as a nation can process this trauma — gain some finality and closure on what occurred a year ago today — is to ensure that those who attacked the Capitol and those who instigated the attack bear full responsibility for their actions. And we must ensure that nothing like this ever occurs again.

False flags are popping up like dandelions in the spring...

Seattle police improperly faked radio chatter about Proud Boys as CHOP formed in 2020, investigation finds

At a crucial moment during 2020’s racial justice protests, Seattle police exchanged a detailed series of fake radio transmissions about a nonexistent group of menacing right-wing extremists.

The radio chatter about members of the Proud Boys marching around downtown Seattle, some possibly carrying guns, and then heading to confront protesters on Capitol Hill was an improper “ruse,” or dishonest ploy, that exacerbated a volatile situation, according to findings released Wednesday by the city’s Office of Police Accountability.

The Proud Boys is a far-right group with a reputation for street violence and with several members — including one from South King County — who have been charged with terrorism for alleged actions related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

The ruse happened on the night of June 8, 2020, hours after the Police Department had abandoned its East Precinct on Capitol Hill and just as protesters were starting to set up the zone that was later called the Capitol Hill Organized Protest, or CHOP.

The officers who participated described a group gathering by City Hall and moving around downtown. They delivered reports such as, “It looks like a few of them might be open carrying,” and: “Hearing from the Proud Boys group. … They may be looking for somewhere else for confrontation.”

A year ago, President-elect Joe Biden was huddling with his advisers in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, preparing to deliver a speech on the economy – far from the reaches of Washington, D.C.

But as images of rioters brandishing flagpoles and violently barreling through police barricades at the U.S. Capitol unfolded on television, it became clear Biden would have to nix his economy speech for something else entirely.

Suddenly, Biden's campaign rhetoric about restoring democracy and healing a divided nation crashed headfirst into a horrific political reality: the worst attack on the U.S. Capitol in more than 200 years – and a direct assault on the foundation of American governance.

"Fundamentally, what we talked about for the entire campaign had really just become very much vivid and alive that day,” recalled Mike Donilon, a top Biden adviser.

Biden, who framed his campaign as the battle for the soul of the nation, has spent the last year trying to strike a balance between addressing the magnitude of Jan. 6 and refusing to let it overshadow his presidency, even as he confronted myriad other crises facing the country.

“In the hours and days after the insurrection, it seemed like the GOP leadership might finally come to grips with what President Trump had wrought with his big lie about massive election fraud.

“And for a brief moment, we had a chance to turn the corner on a disastrous period of our nation’s history. We had a chance to repudiate the immoral grifter who led our country for four years, and weaponized people’s worst fears and anxieties to the point of violence against our capitol. We had a chance to turn back from one party’s grim flirtation with authoritarianism. We had a chance to move forward, still fragmented, but together as a country and a democracy.

“And then, just like that, the opportunity was gone. Fingers to the wind, McCarthy, McConnell and state and local GOP leaders decided that Donald Trump really could, if not shoot someone in the middle of the street with impunity, at least incite a violent attack on our democracy and retain the support of his base. Lacking the courage of their convictions, guided by nothing more than their ambition to regain power, the GOP leadership buckled again to the former president.”

“If Democrats had done what some Trump supporters did on that violent Jan. 6, Republicans would have criticized them mercilessly and been right to do so. Republicans would have torched any high official who encouraged violence or stood mute while it was waged and been right to do so. Republicans would have demanded an investigation to find who was responsible for the violence and been right to do so.

“To move beyond Jan. 6, 2021, we must put country ahead of party. For Democrats, that means resisting their leadership’s petty habit of aggravating partisan fault lines by indiscriminately condemning all who came to Washington that day.

“We Republicans have a heavier burden. I’ve been a Republican my entire life, and believe in what the Republican Party, at its best, has represented for decades. There can be no soft-pedaling what happened and no absolution for those who planned, encouraged and aided the attempt to overthrow our democracy. Love of country demands nothing less. That’s true patriotism.”

Why Republicans Keep Falling for Trump’s Lies
January 6, 2022 at 6:51 am EST

Rebecca Solnit:
“Mainstream figures in the center and the left
are not pushing radically counterfactual stuff akin to the conservative lies about Covid-19,
let alone trying to instigate or whitewash the kind of violence we saw on Jan. 6.
Democrats operate on the basis of reasonably factual premises and usually accept the authority of science, law and history,
while Republicans uninhibitedly push whatever’s most convenient for their goals and incendiary for their base.”

Axios:
“Conspiracy theories about the U.S. Capitol insurrection continue to flood private messaging groups, social networks and even major news outlets one year later.”

Trump’s Hold on GOP Is Unrivaled
January 6, 2022 at 6:49 am EST s

Washington Post:
“As the nation prepares Thursday to mark the anniversary of the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, Trump has pushed a majority of his party into a full embrace of his false election fraud charges, while simultaneously leading the ongoing efforts to whitewash the violence carried out that day by a pro-Trump mob.”

New York Times:
“Today, the Republican Party is very much still Mr. Trump’s, transforming his lies about a stolen 2020 election into an article of faith, and even a litmus test that he is seeking to impose on the 2022 primaries with the candidates he backs. He is the party’s most coveted endorser, its top fund-raiser and the polling front-runner for the 2024 presidential nomination.”

Capitol Riots Are Just Another Wedge In Divided Nation
January 6, 2022 at 6:41 am EST

New York Times:
“Today, it has become heresy among conservatives to question Mr. Trump’s legacy. The cabinet secretaries and White House aides who resigned in protest of his role in the violence now largely keep to themselves.
Many corporations that vowed to halt donations to Republican lawmakers who voted to overturn the election have quietly reopened the contribution spigot.
The congressional Republicans who angrily denounced the president after their headquarters was invaded have gone silent or even made the pilgrimage to Mar-a-Lago, all but pretending it never happened…

“While nearly three-quarters of all Americans view the storming of the Capitol as an assault on democracy, about half of Republicans say the rioters were actually the ones ‘protecting democracy’ and nearly as many think the attack was not even that violent.
While most Americans believe Mr. Biden was elected legitimately, seven in 10 Republicans think otherwise.”

Continuing claims also rose, climbing to 1.75 million as the omicron spread dented the labor market heading into the end of 2021.

Also, the U.S. trade imbalance rose less than expected in November though it came close to setting a new record.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

President Biden on Thursday decried the violent mob of President Donald Trump’s supporters who breached the Capitol a year ago, saying that “democracy was attacked” and urging Americans to make sure such an attack “never, never happens again.” Biden took direct aim at Trump, who he said could not accept that he lost and “created and spread a web of lies about the 2020 election.”
Democratic House leaders have planned a full day of commemorative activities, including testimonials from lawmakers, commentary from historians and a prayer vigil. Senate Democrats plan to deliver floor speeches about the day. Republican leaders do not plan to participate. The Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection resulted in five deaths and injured about 140 members of law enforcement.
Here’s what to know:
Trump had planned to hold a news conference to mark the first anniversary of the attack on the Capitol but announced this week that he was canceling it.

Senior Biden administration officials have concluded that the government’s Jan. 6 preparations were hampered by a lack of high-level information-sharing and a failure to anticipate how bad the day could be.

Attorney General Merrick Garland vowed to hold accountable all those who were responsible for the riot, whether they were at the Capitol or committed other crimes surrounding the day’s events.

Biden says too many in GOP are ‘transforming that party into something else’
By Amy B Wang
Biden on Thursday called out Republicans for enabling Trump to spread lies about the 2020 election, either actively or with their silence.
“While some courageous men and women in the Republican Party are standing against it, trying to uphold the principle of that party, too many others are transforming that party into something else,” Biden said.
Biden added that, despite their disagreements, he would always seek to work with Republicans “who support the rule of law and not the rule of a single man” because of their shared interest in democracy. The way forward, he said, was by recognizing the truth.
“The big lie being told by the former president and many Republicans who fear his wrath is that the insurrection in this country actually took place on Election Day, November 3, 2020,” Biden said. “Is that what you thought when you voted that day?”
Trump and his supporters are “trying to rewrite history,” Biden said.
“They want you to see Election Day as the day of insurrection and the riot that took place here on January 6th as a true expression of the will of the people,” he said. “Can you think of a more twisted way to look at this country, to look at America? I cannot.”
6:56 a.m.
‘I will allow no one to place a dagger at the throat of democracy,’ Biden says
By Felicia Sonmez
In his remarks at the Capitol on Thursday morning, Biden vowed to defend American democracy and said that Jan. 6 represents not its end but rather a rebirth of “liberty and fair play.”
“You can’t love your country only when you win,” Biden said. “You can’t obey the law only when it’s convenient. You can’t be patriotic when you embrace and enable lies.”
Those who stormed the Capitol and those who called on them to do so, Biden said, “held a dagger at the throat of ... American democracy.”
“They didn’t come here out of patriotism or principle. They came here in rage — not in service of America, but rather in service of one man,” Biden said.
He added: “I did not seek this fight brought to this Capitol one year ago today. But I will not shrink from it, either. I will stand in this breach. I will defend this nation, and I will allow no one to place a dagger at the throat of democracy.”

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

THIS IS WHERE DEMS ARE TAKING JANUARY 6: This quote in The Hill today from Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) captures it succinctly: “The point is that the constitutional purpose is clear, to keep people exactly like Donald Trump and other traitors to the union from holding public office.”

Raskin is referring to Section Three of the 14th Amendment, which was approved as a means of preventing former Confederates of any rank from holding elected office after the Civil War. The provision bans any individual who “shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies” of the Constitution.

There are presently only a dozen or so in Congress who agree with Raskin, according to The Hill, and a few as well in the academic world. But don’t think there won’t be more after today’s hyper-partisan January 6 “memorials.”

Since the constitutional penalty for treason is death, what the Raskins of the Democratic Party want is to return politics to the blood sport it was for centuries before 1789 in which losing meant a trip to the gallows, the chopping block or a firing squad.

Ted Cruz Apologizes for Calling Capitol Rioters ‘Terrorists’
January 6, 2022 at 10:52 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 250 Comments

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) went on Tucker Carlon’s show to say it had been a “mistake” for him to call the Jan. 6 attack at the Capitol a “terrorist attack” after he received pushback from supporters of former President Trump.

Said Cruz: “As a result of my sloppy phrasing, it’s caused a lot of people to misunderstand what I meant. What I was referring to was the limited number of people who engaged in violent attacks against police officers.”

Jonathan Chait: “Cruz thought the sweet spot for him was to position himself as a champion of Trump’s non-violent efforts to discard the election results while strongly condemning its violent aspects. Not for the first time, and probably not for the last, he misjudged the political market.”

Aaron Blake: “It did not go quite so well. But it did at least provide an extremely apt picture of the current state of the post-Jan. 6 GOP — on the evening of Jan. 6 itself, no less.”
