I guess this is Trump's and Putin's fault, huh?

Producer Price Index Sets New Inflation Record
As the BLS release for February's data explains, "The Producer Price Index for final demand increased 0.8 percent in February, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. This rise followed advances of 1.2 percent in January and 0.4 percent in December 2021. (See table A.) On an unadjusted basis, final demand prices moved up 10.0 percent for the 12 months ended in February."
That 10 percent year-over-year increase is another shameful record set under the Biden administration's economic policy, and one that debunks President Biden's attempts to blame inflation that's rocketed upward since he took office on Putin's war on Ukraine, and it also shows that companies increasing their prices aren't doing so out of greed, but out of necessity to keep up with rising production costs.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Drugmaker Pfizer is expected to request authorization this week for an additional COVID-19 booster dose for seniors, according to a person familiar with the matter.

It would add a fourth dose to the regimen, which currently consists of a primary series of two shots, followed months later by a booster dose, in an effort to provide maximum protection to the over-65 population that has been hit hardest by the pandemic.

US policymakers already dealing with inflation stuck at 40-year highs now have another challenge added to their list: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

What happens a world away can affect American consumers’ pocketbooks because Russia is a major global producer of oil: If sanctions or strife put a crimp in Russia’s spigot to the world, that could send oil prices sharply higher.

Those higher energy prices would hit the pocketbooks of everyday Americans already struggling with inflation that recently logged a 7.5% rise from last year. And they also could complicate the picture for the Federal Reserve, whose officials already have signaled they’ll be increasing key interest rates to try to cool down rising prices.

Now, those officials might have to move more quickly — and at a greater pace than previously expected, an economic analyst told The Post.

Zelensky’s Pitch to Put More Pressure on Biden

“As his nation tries to withstand a Russian onslaught, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to use his Wednesday address to Congress to beseech Washington to do more to help — and may turn up the pressure uncomfortably high on President Joe Biden,”

Oil prices have suddenly reversed course, falling almost as quickly as they rose in the early days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Why it matters: The about-face raises the prospect of a corresponding drop in gas prices, which hit a record high last week.

By the numbers: The price of West Texas Intermediate — the U.S. benchmark crude oil — tumbled below $97 per barrel on Tuesday, having fallen more than $33 from its peak about a week ago.

That's only a few dollars more than it was priced at when the invasion began. The national average price of gasoline — which tends to move in lockstep with oil prices, lagging only a few days as the market catches up — has leveled off in the low $4.30s over the last several days, according to AAA.

Your next talking points

During an exclusive interview with Fox News, Trump reflected on the first year of the Biden presidency, and said the country is "being absolutely destroyed."

TRUMP DENIES BIDEN SUGGESTION HE IS WORKING TO 'INTIMIDATE' GOP: 'THE PARTY LOVES ME AND I LOVE THE PARTY'

"I had no idea the country could go down so badly and so quickly," Trump said.

First, pointing to the supply chain crisis, Trump said during his administration, "it wasn’t even a thought."

"The words supply chain never really came up," he said. "It was something that we had, nobody had any problems, these were not two words in the vocabulary."

"They were not in the vocabulary of the administration, because everything was running like a fine-tuned machine," Trump said. "And we didn’t have any problems with supply chain."

Video

Trump said he had traveled to Los Angeles and "saw the massive containers, thousands and thousands of them where they dock the ships, in the loading and unloading areas and I will tell you, I’ve never seen anything like it."

"They are stacked up to the sky. It is going to take a long time for them to break it up. It is very bad, very bad," Trump said. "It’s going to take a long time to fix it."

Trump, who recently released his first book since leaving office, "Our Journey Together," a photo book filled with images and captions hand-picked and handwritten by the former president, said the supply chain crisis is even affecting the production of additional copies.

BIDEN DEFENDS FIRST YEAR RECORD, SAYS HE 'DIDN'T OVERPROMISE,' BUT 'OUTPERFORMED,' MADE 'ENORMOUS PROGRESS'

"As an example, I did a book and the book turned out to be a tremendous success, and we sold over 200,000 copies of the book, which is much more because this is a picture book," Trump said of the coffee-table-style book, published by Winning Team Publishing.

(Trump, Winning Team Publishing)

"Now, what we’re doing is going out for 300,000 more books, and they don’t even have paper," Trump said. "They have no paper, they have no glue, they have no leather, you know the outside binding. This is a company that’s been in business for many years, I think the largest or second-largest printer in the country, and they said they’ve never seen anything like this, they’ve never had anything like this."

Meanwhile, reflecting on his own first year in office, Trump said his administration "accomplished so much."

"We accomplished very early on the greatest tax cuts in history, the greatest regulation cuts in history, Space Force, we rebuilt the military over a period of time and rebuilt the military," Trump said. "We did things that nobody thought — Anwar, we got Anwar approved. Ronald Reagan tried to get it done, everybody did, nobody could get it done, we got it. Would have been perhaps the biggest drilling site, energy site in the world, and it was terminated by Biden and Lisa Murkowski made it possible to have it terminated."

"You know, all of these things, we’ve done so much, and now I’m watching what’s happening to our country and our country is being absolutely destroyed. Destroyed," Trump said. "Our dignity, our strength, it is being sapped and destroyed."

He added: "It is hard to believe."

The former president went on to say that the United States, under Biden's leadership, "looks weak, indecisive and incompetent."

"China is dictating terms to us. Russia on Ukraine. China with Taiwan. Kim Jong Un as you know of North Korea is sending up missile after missile and very importantly, Iran is having a lot of fun doing whatever they want," Trump said. "And our country looks like it is just weak and incompetently run."

The President is going to get pressure from both sides. The President has been very cautious, but this might change his mind.

As his nation tries to withstand a Russian onslaught, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to use his Wednesday address to Congress to beseech Washington to do more to help — and may turn up the pressure uncomfortably high on President Joe Biden.

Biden has deployed weapons and equipment to Ukraine, rallied European allies to support Kyiv and has spearheaded an array of sanctions on Moscow to punish Russia’s Vladimir Putin for his aggression. But Biden has been unwilling to provide some of the exact things that Zelenskyy wants — like a no-fly zone, advanced missile systems and fighter jets — creating tension between a cautious U.S. president and a Ukrainian leader desperate for more superpower help.

“Zelenskyy is really good at articulating what’s at stake, that this is a battle for not just for sovereignty for Ukraine but for the world,” said Evelyn Farkas, former deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia. “He’s made this a ‘we’ situation, not ‘they.’ He’s made this about ‘us’ and he is showing the world that the Ukrainian spirit won’t be snuffed out and is worth saving.”

Zelenskyy has repeatedly and emotionally called for NATO to enforce a no-fly zone over Ukraine, which Biden has steadfastly refused to do for fear that any possible confrontation between American and Russian planes or troops could escalate into a much larger conflict and potentially world war.

Biden also nixed a move for Poland to transfer aging jets through the United States to Ukraine, for fear that it could escalate the conflict.

If Zelenskyy’s address to Congress is as passionate as his other public appearances lately, Biden may come under increased pressure from lawmakers pushing for more Ukrainian aid. White House officials stressed that Biden and Zelenskyy get along well and their interests are aligned. The two presidents have spoken several times since the invasion and have repeatedly saluted the other’s efforts.

At Least 9 House Democrats Test Positive
March 15, 2022 at 4:53 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 44 Comments

“At least nine House Democrats have announced in the last five days that they tested positive for the coronavirus, with more than half of those cases emerging after lawmakers attended a party retreat last week in Philadelphia,” the New York Times reports.

“It is unclear what drove the wave of cases or where the representatives had been infected. But members of the House spent hours on the floor without masks for votes that stretched late into the night last Wednesday before Democrats boarded buses to travel to their gathering.”

NOT TO SANCTION CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR IS TO APPROVE CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR.

Except that it was not criminal behavior to have an alternate slate of electors. The concept was to get the State Legislators to adopt the alternate slate of electors - short of that, they were just a group of people with no actual power.

But this alternate slate of electors dates back to the 1800s when we had several state with more than one slate of electors.

Ultimately these sorts of things are for the courts to settle, not for police officers to go in and start arresting people.

But I see you typed it in BOLD LETTERS. Must mean you really have a keen understanding of this.
