Is Russia really losing and Ukraine really winning?

What does this mean in the broader perspective?

  • 17,000 out of 1,350,000 total military personnel (1.2%)
  • 123 out of 2086 planes (5.9%)
  • 127 out of  2087 helicopters (6.1%)
  • 586  our 12,420 tanks (4.7%)
  • 302 out of  14,145 artillery pieces (2.1%)
  • 1694 out of 30,122 armored vehicles (5.6%)
  • 7 out of 605 boats (1.1%)
So while these still seem like fairly staggering losses from what we have expected in modern warfare, the reality is that the loss of military personnel and equipment is probably doing not much more than putting a fairly deep scratch in the surface of the Russian resources. Not to mention that we do not know that these numbers are accurate. These are the number being suggested by Ukraine. The Russians are claiming that they have lost a fraction of this.

The problem with a long drawn out war is that the Russians have the ability to replenish as they go. The original hope that Russia was going to run out of equipment, ammo, gas, and food within a week or two have not come true. To be honest, that appeared to be more wishful thinking that an actual military prediction. While we hear stories of poor supply lines and such, the reality is that both sides are now "holding their ground" for the most part. This is becoming a war of attrition.

While everyone talks about Russian supply line problems, nobody is considering the problems that the Ukrainians have. In some cities people are lining up for limited amounts of food and medicine, and there is nothing coming in or out. Plus, we are not just talking about Ukrainian soldiers here, for the most part we are talking average citizens who are needlessly suffering from this.

It's likely that Russia has had to make adjustments to their original plans. They seem more interested in consolidating their positions in the areas (mainly the southeast) that they are looking to annex while not advancing (or even losing ground) up around Kiev and in the outskirts of some other larger cities.  There are several places where they are either being pushed back or falling back depending on which side you believe.

So instead of attempting to advance their positions anywhere other than in the Southeast, they are hitting munitions storage facilities, Ukrainian supply lines, and other strategic areas. They obviously do not seem to mind hitting a hospital or school if they can declare that they believed Ukrainian troops were secretly being harbored there. This is a brutal assault that seems unaffected by any moral or ethical concepts. In war, having no moral or ethical compass can be a benefit.

I have to wonder if the Russian military collapses like this will they disobey orders

Ukraine says a top Russian soldier took his own life after realising how weak his unit’s reserve vehicles were.

Kyiv said the commander killed himself when he learned that 90% of tanks in reserve were unusable and un-serviceable because parts had been stolen.

The big losses and slow pace of the Russian offensive could be a factor that forced Putin to lower his ambitions and take a more realistic approach.

Volodymyr Fesenko, the head of the independent Kyiv-based Penta Center, said Russia’s declared shift to the east could be an attempt to put a good face on its failed blitz and regroup before the next stage of fighting.

“Both sides need a break now for various reasons, and the Kremlin is using it to regroup its forces and search for new tactics without changing its strategic goal of subduing Ukraine,” Fesenko told the AP.

“Tactics could change from a blitz to laying siege to cities, destroying the economy and the infrastructure with bombardment, blockading ports and doing other things. Putin has a broad arsenal of means of pressure.”

“The stiff Ukrainian resistance could turn the war into a protracted conflict, and then the issue of financial and military resources, including warplanes and tanks Zelenskyy is urging the West to provide will be of primary importance,” he said.

I still wonder if someone else can stop Putin. But he has already pushed out people who disagree with him.

The long term issue is will the Russian people start leaving by the millions...??

Even the opposite side of Ukraine is sticking with them.
LONDON (Reuters) - One of the architects of the Moscow-backed separatist rebellion in eastern Ukraine eight years ago said Russia's invasion of Ukraine is a mistake, in comments that show the Kremlin cannot count on support from all pro-Russian opponents of Kyiv.

Alexei Alexandrov was one of the leaders of a movement in 2014 to reject Kyiv's rule and create an autonomous pro-Moscow territory in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region, triggering a war against Ukrainian government forces.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Russia attacked Ukraine last month in part to protect the separatist territory from Kyiv, though Western states say that is a pretext for an unprovoked land grab.

They are the bravest people of this world.

'We are ready' to discuss neutrality, Zelenskyy says ahead of Russia-Ukraine talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said ahead of the latest round of in-person talks between Kyiv and Moscow on Monday that his country is prepared to declare neutrality from NATO, a move that would fulfill one of Russia's long-standing demands.

"Security guarantees and neutrality, non-nuclear status of our state. We are ready to go for it,"

Zelenskyy said in a video call with several Russian reporters ahead of a fresh round of negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian diplomats in Turkey. The four Russian journalists involved in the call were reportedly ordered not to publish the Ukrainian president's remarks.

Zelenskyy stressed, however, that a final peace agreement can't be reached without a ceasefire and withdrawal of Russian troops.

Republicans are backing Ukraine in the war. So why is there support for Russia on America's far right?
AND HERE ON COLDHEARTED LIES WITH CH AND RRB AND F DADDY AND BALLS AND COMMENSA AND K DEM.

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, there has been near unanimous denunciation of President Vladimir Putin, from President Joe Biden calling Putin a "war criminal," to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell describing him as a "ruthless thug."

But the Ukraine invasion has found a significant pocket of support from prominent figures on the far right including white supremacist Nick Fuentes, who regularly gushes about Putin on his Telegram channel. The war is also a hot topic in QAnon chatrooms where Putin is often portrayed as a hero.

Conservative pundits have also voiced support for Russia. Candace Owens has pushed the Putin talking point that Russia created Ukraine. She also tweeted "Russian lives matter." She was retweeted by the Russian Embassy in the U.S.

Why is there support for Russia on the far right?

Putin has a long history of cultivating and providing material support to far-right leaders in Europe and the United States, according to Andrew Weiss, a Russia expert and vice president for studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

In exchange, those leaders parrot Kremlin talking points, Weiss said.

America's far right shares a common enemy with Putin and Russia: the West's liberal values and the cabal of elites they say controls the economy and the media.

“It helped for Russian purposes to act like all of these other people agree with them,” Weiss said. “It was a way of creating an echo chamber where there isn’t one.”

Like Putin, former president Donald Trump has frequently professed his personal admiration for the Russian president and capitalized on the disdain for Western liberal values among some conservatives, said Jared Holt, a fellow at the Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab who researches extremism.

With Trump out of office, many of his supporters are now looking to Putin to take on their enemies, Holt said.

"Some of these far-right cliques within the broader pro-Trump movement came to view Trump as an avatar, fighting against the ills of society they perceive," he said. "I think they view Putin, also, as an avatar standing up against similar forces."

Why are Kremlin talking points in Americans' news feeds?

Unfounded claims to gin up support for the war – including claims that the U.S. is funding bioweapon labs in Ukraine or crisis actors are faking events in the war – have gained traction on social media throughout the conflict, according to Zignal Labs, a software company that tracks and analyzes trends in online narratives.

The far right has echoed many of these claims. On his Telegram channel, Joseph Jordan, a white nationalist podcaster who goes by the name Eric Striker, claimed a pregnant woman injured in the bombing of a Ukrainian maternity hospital was an Instagram celebrity. QAnon-affiliated Twitter and Telegram accounts also spread the pro-Kremlin conspiracy theory which was quickly debunked.

New conspiracies pop up daily. They are manufactured for a domestic audience in Russia and pro-Moscow Ukrainians but also push buttons in the U.S. The latest spreading on social media is an unfounded report from Russian state media outlet Sputnik that Hunter Biden and George Soros are funding biolabs in Ukraine.

The danger? That Russian propaganda will find a receptive audience beyond extremist channels, said Stephanie Foggett, director of global communications at intelligence and security firm The Soufan Group.

"The far right used the pandemic to creep into the mainstream and broaden their appeal to followers of QAnon and anti-vaxxers," Foggett said. “Now there is a really, really ripe ecosystem for conspiracy theories.”

Ukraine as extension of culture wars

Fueling support for Putin and his Russian offensive is the perception that he alone can save the world from identity politics and western globalization, extremism experts say.

Putin has long fomented aggression towards the LGBTQ+ community. He has passed stringent laws against "gay propaganda," and recently blasted gender nonconformity as a "pandemic" equal to COVID-19.

"Putin ain't woke," former Trump adviser-turned-far-right podcaster Steve Bannon declared on his show shortly before the Russian invasion. "He's anti-woke."

In Putin, the far right sees a strongman capable of remaking the world order and rejecting liberal values such as gay rights, said Cynthia Miller-Idriss, director of the Polarization and Extremism Research and Innovation Lab (PERIL) at American University.

"This is similar to the way that we saw some far-right support for the Taliban last August," Miller-Idriss said. "There's the appeal of a 'strong man' or the idea of a strong resistor against the West and all that's gone with that in both of those cases – anti-feminist, anti-LGBTQ, authoritarian hyper-masculine, all of that kind of tough-guy stuff."

Putin doubled down on this rhetoric in a speech Friday, in which he accused the West of trying to "cancel" Russia. The Russian president invoked author J.K. Rowling, who has been criticized for her anti-trans comments.

“Not so long ago, they canceled children’s author Joan Rowling whose books were spread all over the world in the hundreds of millions of copies, because she did not please fans of so-called gender freedoms,” Putin said in a televised speech.

For some, the conflict in Ukraine is about the same stuff of the culture wars in the U.S. and that's dangerous, Foggett says.

“What really concerns me is that the right especially, they are projecting their own social anxieties into the Ukraine-Russia conflict,” she said.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Not everyone on the far right supports Putin

Not everyone on the far right is siding with Russia in the war. Some Neo-Nazis and white supremacists oppose Putin because of his vow to "de-Nazify" Ukraine.

One U.S.-based neo-Nazi website declared support for Ukraine based solely on the claim that Russian military success would undermine a region that has previously been welcoming to white supremacist organizing.

Kesa White, a researcher at PERIL who tracks white supremacists and other groups, said she's also seen another narrative gain traction online.

"They're saying that Putin is enabling the 'white genocide,'" White said, referring to the longstanding racist trope that white people are being disproportionately killed across the world by people of color in order to undermine global white supremacy. "They feel that their white brothers and sisters are being killed, and having to fight for something that doesn't necessarily pertain to them."

Bottom up economics!

President Biden’s 2023 budget calls for a range of policies that would boost opportunity and reduce poverty, improve health and well-being, and advance widely shared prosperity, funded by proposals to make the nation’s tax system stronger and fairer. The U.S. has long underinvested in our families and children; the President’s call to reverse that trend is both good economics and consistent with our nation’s values. The policies presented in the budget would help households with the costs that stretch their budgets and would provide more children with the supports and education they need to thrive. It would pay for these policies and reduce the deficit by requiring well-off households and profitable corporations to pay a fairer amount of taxes, putting forward creative solutions to the long-standing problem that many of the wealthiest households who have gained the most from the nation’s economy pay very little taxes, and sometimes none at all.

Delegations from Russia and Ukraine have arrived in Turkey for a fresh round of peace talks set to take place in Istanbul Tuesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he is willing to discuss his country's neutrality to bring an end to the war "without delay." However, over the weekend, he said he would not sacrifice his country's territorial integrity.

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said Moscow could not talk about "progress yet," but said "the very fact that it was decided to continue the talks in person is certainly important."

In an interview with PBS, Peskov clarified on Moscow's stance on the use of nuclear weapons, saying Russia would only consider the use of nuclear weapons if there is a threat to the "existence of the state in our country." But he said that "any outcome of the operation (in Ukraine), of course is not a reason for usage of a nuclear weapon."

While the M14 and M16 were the primary infantry small arms of the Vietnam War, the various combat shotguns also provided valuable service to our fighting men on many occasions.

WASHINGTON — A federal judge ruled on Monday that former President Donald J. Trump and a lawyer who had advised him on how to overturn the 2020 election most likely had committed felonies, including obstructing the work of Congress and conspiring to defraud the United States.

The judge’s comments in the civil case of the lawyer, John Eastman, marked a significant breakthrough for the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. The committee, which is weighing making a criminal referral to the Justice Department, had used a filing in the case to lay out the crimes it believed Mr. Trump might have committed.

Mr. Trump has not been charged with any crime, and the judge’s ruling had no immediate, practical legal effect on him. But it essentially ratified the committee’s argument that Mr. Trump’s efforts to block Congress from certifying Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s Electoral College victory could well rise to the level of a criminal conspiracy.

Trump phone logs turned over to House show 7-hour gap on Jan. 6
CBSNews

Internal White House records from the day of the attack on the U.S. Capitol that were turned over to the House select committee show a gap in President Donald Trump's phone logs of seven hours and 37 minutes, including the period when the building was being violently assaulted, according to documents obtained by CBS News' chief election & campaign correspondent Robert Costa and The Washington Post's associate editor Bob Woodward. The lack of an official White House notation of any calls placed to or by Trump for 457 minutes — from 11:17 a.m. to 6:54 p.m. — on Jan. 6, 2021 means there is no record of the calls made by Trump as his supporters descended on the U.S. Capitol, battled overwhelmed police and forcibly entered the building, prompting lawmakers and Vice President Mike Pence to flee for safety.

The 11 pages of records — which consist of the president's official daily diary and the White House switchboard call log — were turned over by the National Archives earlier this year to the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack.

Progress?

ISTANBUL, March 29 (Reuters) - Russia promised at peace talks on Tuesday to drastically scale down its military operations around Kyiv and the northern Ukrainian city of Chernihiv, while Ukraine proposed neutral status with international guarantees to protect it from attack.

Ukrainian negotiators said they had proposed a status under which their country would not join alliances or host bases of foreign troops, but would have its security guaranteed in terms similar to "Article 5", the collective defence clause of NATO.

They identified Israel and NATO members Canada, Poland and Turkey as countries that could help provide such guarantees.

The proposals would include a 15-year consultation period on the status of Russian-annexed Crimea, and could come into force only in the event of a complete ceasefire, the Ukrainian negotiators told reporters in Istanbul.

Russian Deputy Defence Minister Alexander Fomin said Russia had decided to scale down fighting near Kyiv and Chernihiv to create the conditions for dialogue.

Top Russian negotiator Vladimir Medinsky said he would examine the Ukrainian proposals and report on them to President Vladimir Putin.

The talks held in Istanbul on Tuesday were the first face-to-face meeting between the sides since March 10. Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, and has failed to capture any major Ukrainian cities after meeting fierce resistance.

Ukraine's proposals were the most detailed and concrete that Kyiv has aired publicly.

"If we manage to consolidate these key provisions, and for us this is the most fundamental, then Ukraine will be in a position to actually fix its current status as a non-bloc and non-nuclear state in the form of permanent neutrality," said Ukrainian negotiator Oleksander Chaly.

"We will not host foreign military bases on our territory, as well as deploy military contingents on our territory, and we will not enter into military-political alliances," he said. Military exercises would take place with the consent of the guarantor countries.

The Ukrainian negotiators said there was enough material in their proposals to warrant a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Eventually we will see the first former in history to be indicated for a felony.

White House logs that were given to the House committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol have a gap of more than seven hours in former President Trump’s phone records on Jan. 6, 2021, documents obtained by The Washington Post and CBS News reportedly show.

The news outlets reported that the gap in Trump’s communications stretches from 11:17 a.m. to 6:54 p.m. on the day of the attack, contradicting reports on several phone calls Trump had during that time period.

Two unidentified sources told the Post that the committee is looking into whether Trump used his aides’ phones, a disposable phone or used backchannels to communicate with others on Jan. 6.

A spokesperson for Trump stated the records were not controlled by Trump and the former president believed all his communications were logged that day, according to the news outlets.

"I have no idea what a burner phone is, to the best of my knowledge I have never even heard the term,” Trump reportedly said in a statement Monday, referring to a disposable phone.

However, one unidentified lawmaker on the Jan. 6 panel told the Post the White House could have engaged in a “possible coverup” of the records, with another source saying the gap is of “intense interest” to several lawmakers.

The phone records were given to the committee by the National Archives earlier this year.

Phone conversations that reportedly occurred with Trump during the gap of seven hours and 37 minutes gap include conversations with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), who Trump called in order to get in touch with  Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), the Post noted.

The Hill has reached out to the Jan. 6 House Committee and a Trump spokesperson for comment.

Federal prosecutors and congressional investigators have gathered growing evidence of how a tweet by President Donald Trump less than three weeks before Jan. 6, 2021, served as a crucial call to action for extremist groups that played a central role in storming the Capitol,” the New York Times reports.

“Mr. Trump’s Twitter post in the early hours of Dec. 19, 2020, was the first time he publicly urged supporters to come to Washington on the day Congress was scheduled to certify the Electoral College results showing Joseph Biden as the winner of the presidential vote.”

Do we think it’s possible that with no one running the country ― because of course we have no chosen successor to Putin ― is it possible, if we did that, that one of those 6,000 nuclear weapons might wind up in the hands of some anti-American terror group and be used against our civilian population here?” he asked. “A nuclear weapon! CBS News’ Robert Costa Tuesday morning announced, “Woodward and I have the docs,” referring to the White House call logs and Donald Trump’s Presidential “Daily Diary” for January 6, 2020, the infamous day of the insurrection and the attack on the U.S. Capitol and American democracy.

Costa, formerly of The Washington Post, and Woodward, currently with The Post, have been working together. Costa published links to the White House call logs and the Presidential “Daily Diary”:

They reveal a president who was in a flurry of phone calls from 8:23 AM to 11:06 AM – and then a mysterious seven-hour gap, until 6:54 PM.

The logs and diary could pose serious problems for Donald Trump, the former president, and his top aides and allies, as the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack puts together a detailed timeline of everything that happened on that day.

For example, Congressman Jim Jordan infamously told a reporter he couldn’t remember when he talked to the president on January 6, even if it was before or after the insurrection. He talked to Trump for ten minutes, from 9:24 AM to 9:34 AM – before the attack on the

Costa points to Steve Bannon:

Trump then told the White House operator to call Senator Josh Hawley, whose fist pump has become an iconic symbol of the insurrection. And then he talked with Rudy Giuliani for six minutes. Stephen Miller for 26 minutes, and on and on.

And CBS’ Steven Portnoy notes House Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s widely-reported call with Trump is not in the log:

Trump’s last call before the massive gap was to Senator David Perdue (R-GA), who is now running for governor of Georgia.

Also noteworthy is at 7:16 PM, after the attack on the Capitol, the White House operator told the president there were “pending calls” from Sen. Hawley, and attorney Cleta Mitchell who was on Trump’s possibly unlawful call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

GOP Senate Primaries Descend Into Chaos
9:25 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
“Republican frustrations are growing as multiple GOP Senate primaries have descended into infighting, threatening the party’s chances of retaking the upper chamber in November,” The Hill reports.

NATO Would Rethink World Order If Trump Re-Elected
9:19 am
Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) told CNN that NATO would have to “rethink” whether they can rely on the United States if Donald Trump was re-elected.

Said Romney: “If he were to come back as the U.S. president, I think it would represent a pretty dramatic departure for the world, and they would rethink whether they can count on the United States to lead NATO to lead other nations as they push back against China and against Russia.”

Russia Pledges to Reduce Attacks Near Kyiv
8:38 am
A deputy Russian defense minister said on Tuesday that Russia would sharply “reduce military activity” near Kyiv and the northern Ukrainian city of Chernihiv, in the first sign of progress as diplomats from Ukraine and Russia discussed a possible cease-fire, the New York Times reports.

Trump’s January 6 Plot Appears Darker by the Day
8:23 am
“Former President Donald Trump’s attempt to steal the 2020 election is being revealed week-by-week to be deeper and broader than it initially appeared, sharpening the national dilemma of if and how he could ever be held to account,” CNN reports.

“It’s extraordinary that, more than 14 months on, new details of efforts by Trump and those around him to subvert President Joe Biden’s victory are still emerging.”

G7 Won’t Pay for Russian Gas in Rubles
8:01 am
The G7 countries dismissed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s demand to pay for gas in rubles as a “not acceptable” breach of contracts, Deutsche Welle reports.

SHADES OF NIXON
January 6th White House Logs Show 7-Hour Gap
7:08 am
“Internal White House records from the day of the attack on the U.S. Capitol that were turned over to the House select committee show a gap in President Donald Trump’s phone logs of seven hours and 37 minutes, including the period when the building was being violently assaulted,” the Washington Post reports.

“The House panel is now investigating whether Trump communicated that day through backchannels, phones of aides or personal disposable phones, known as ‘burner phones.’

“One lawmaker on the panel said the committee is investigating a ‘possible coverup’ of the official White House record from that day.”

Prosecutors Put New Focus on Trump’s December Tweet
7:05 am
“Federal prosecutors and congressional investigators have gathered growing evidence of how a tweet by President Donald Trump less than three weeks before Jan. 6, 2021, served as a crucial call to action for extremist groups that played a central role in storming the Capitol,” the New York Times reports.

“Mr. Trump’s Twitter post in the early hours of Dec. 19, 2020, was the first time he publicly urged supporters to come to Washington on the day Congress was scheduled to certify the Electoral College results showing Joseph Biden as the winner of the presidential vote.

“Extremist groups almost immediately celebrated Mr. Trump’s Twitter message, which they widely interpreted as an invitation to descend on the city in force.”

63 Republicans Oppose Honoring Justices
9:15 am
“Sixty three House Republicans opposed a bill honoring Justices Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the first two female justices of the Supreme Court, with statues in Congress,” Politico reports.

“For what it’s worth: The Senate cleared this legislation by unanimous consent in December 2021. So it is headed to President Joe Biden’s desk.”

Rand Paul Stalls Bill to Punish Russia
9:09 am
“Republicans have spent weeks hammering President Joe Biden as too slow in responding to Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine. Enter Rand Paul,” Politico reports.

“The idiosyncratic GOP senator is undermining his own party’s message by single-handedly delaying a revocation of normal trade relations with Russia, thereby slowing efforts to further incapacitate Russia’s economy. Paul is refusing to allow a quick vote on the bill absent a deal to narrow presidential power to enact sanctions — an ask that leaders in both parties have spurned.”

10:02 am
Tim O’Brien: “A federal judge thinks that former President Donald Trump likely committed fraud — and probably knew it — when he and one of his lawyers, John Eastman, plotted to block Congress’s certification of the 2020 presidential election so Trump could hold on to power.”

“So how much longer will it take Attorney General Merrick Garland to draw the same conclusion about that attempted coup?”

Does he believe he didn't try to pay her off to keep her silent?

Does he believe that all the numerous women who are accusing him of sexual misconduct toward them are lying?

Does he believe that all the people who worked for him and have now turned against him and are accusing him of evil and perfidious conduct are lying?

Does he believe he didn't try to get people to actually change election numbers for him?

Does he believe all that, and more?

Even if he does think some of that, which I doubt, he is still in all liklihood as guilty as hell of doing all of that.

Hunter Biden helped secure funds for US biolab contractor in Ukraine: e-mails

Russia’s assertion that President Biden’s son Hunter was “financing . . . biological laboratories in Ukraine” was based in truth, according to e-mails reviewed by The Post.

A trove of e-mails on Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop — the existence of which was exclusively reported by The Post in October 2020 — found that he played a role in helping a California defense contractor analyze killer diseases and bioweapons in Ukraine.

Fox Nation’s Lara Logan Suggests Theory of Evolution Is a Hoax Funded by Jews

It wasn’t long ago that Lara Logan was a correspondent for CBS News, which is a little hard to believe considering the types of conspiracy theories she’s been pushing since she left the network. The latest came during an appearance on the right-wing podcast “And We Know,” during which Logan suggested that the theory of evolution is the result of a wealthy Jewish family paying Charles Darwin to devise an explanation for what gave rise to humanity.

“Does anyone know who employed Darwin, where Darwinism comes from?” Logan, now with Fox News’ streaming service Fox Nation, asked. “Look it up: The Rothschilds. It goes back to 10 Downing Street. The same people who employed Darwin, and his theory of evolution and so on and so on. I’m not saying that none of that is true. I’m just saying Darwin was hired by someone to come up with a theory — based on evidence, OK, fine.”

Amid War Crimes in Ukraine, American Right Wingers Are Applauding Russia

Logan rambled for a bit longer, but her point was that evolution is a “chicken or the egg” debate and “you can’t answer it scientifically” and, while we’re here, Jews are trying to control the world with their money. Media Matters caught the claim on Monday:

The Rothschilds, who Logan says is responsible for the theory of evolution, are a Jewish family that often shows up in anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) famously wrote on Facebook that the Rothschilds funded a space laser that started the California wildfires.

Manchin Calls GOP Treatment of Jackson ‘Disgraceful’
11:11 am
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said the way Republican senators treated Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson at last week’s hearings was “disgraceful” and “embarrassing,”
The Hill reports.

Said Manchin:
“It was disgraceful, it really was, what I saw. And I met with her and I read all the transcripts. I listened to basically the hearings and it just was embarrassing.”

He added:
“It’s not who we are. It’s not what we were sent here to do, to attack other people and just try to tear them down. I won’t be part of that. I think she’s extremely well qualified and I think she’ll be an exemplary judge.”
