Democrats actually rely not just on the black vote going to Democrats, but going almost exclusively to Democrats. In some counties, that late night counting shows that well over 90% of all black in large urban counties run by Democrats vote straight party Democrat. If not for these 240,000 to 10,000 additions to the counts, Democrats would lose those statewide races across the board in most Battleground states. If suddenly these counties had to report 150,000 to 100,000 - well then they would no longer be that surge that creates that crazy come from behind late night Democratic move that snatches victory from the jaws of defeat. In some of those close elections they are almost counting on exclusively Democratic votes being the late breaking ballots.
What would be more troubling is the precedent it would set. Hispanics are already moving away from Democrats and have been for some time. Second and third generation Hispanics start to identify as White and their voting pattern reflects that. Blacks, extremely poor people, the extreme rich, and the random liberal idiot who believes that voting Democrat (in spite of f-ing up the country) makes them a good person. Not sure why they believe f-ing up the country is a good thing, but they are damned pretentious about their believe that voting blue is the valiant thing to do. Maybe by voting against themselves and against their country, they feel like they are sacrificing for the greater bad? I don't know.
All I know is that if Democrats cannot count on the minority vote to pull them through, well then they will not win much in the future.

A 74-year-old homeowner is defending his decision after shooting a 16-year-old accused of breaking into his Ohio house, according to local news reports.
“He didn’t belong here and I knew ... after he came through the door like that, I can shoot him,” James Lowgher told WEWS.
The Akron Police Department was called to the home invasion at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, according to a news release.
“When (officers) arrived, they found a 16-year-old male inside the victim’s home with multiple gunshot wounds,” police said in the news release.
The homeowner reported that the teen had forced himself into the home, police said, and “at some point during the ordeal, the homeowner confronted the teen and discharged his firearm, striking him multiple times.”
Police did not identify the teen or the homeowner.
Officers provided the teen with first aid until EMS arrived and took him to Akron Children’s Hospital, officials said, where he was in stable condition.
Authorities say the homeowner was not injured.
Lowgher told WEWS he shot the teen as he was heading to the basement.
“I pumped two into him there,” Lowgher said. “He went down the steps that way and I got him a third time I hope.”

Russian investigative news outlet Proekt revealed that a team of doctors frequently visited the 69-year-old Russian president at his residences or accompanied him on trips amid growing questions about his health.
Yevgeny Selivanov, an oncology surgeon, specializing in thyroid cancer, flew to visit Putin at his Black Sea residence 35 times and spent 166 days in his presence, the report said.
Two otolaryngologists, or ear, nose, and throat specialists, Igor Esakov and Alexei Shcheglov, visited the Russian president even more frequently.
Alexei Shcheglov flew to see Putin 59 times and spent a total of 282 days with him between 2016 and 2020, according to the report.
Thyroid diseases, including cancer, are typically first diagnosed by an otolaryngologist, after which an oncologist and a surgeon become involved in the treatment, a doctor told Proekt.
The outlet determined which doctors spent time with Putin at his residence in Sochi by examining hotel accommodation contracts published on the government procurement website.
The dates that doctors stayed at hotels in Sochi coincided with Putin's official visits to the city or periods where he mysteriously disappeared from the public eye, the report said.
The average number of medics in Putin's entourage rose from five in 2016 and 2017 to nine in 2019, the report said.
Other team members included anesthetists, a neurosurgeon, an infectious diseases specialist, and an intensive care doctor.
On some occasions, the number of medics attending to Putin in Sochi increased when Putin was likely undergoing surgery or a serious procedure, likely on his back, said the outlet.

VALLETTA (Reuters) -Pope Francis came the closest he has yet to implicitly criticising President Vladimir Putin over Russia's invasion of Ukraine, saying on Saturday a "potentate" was fomenting conflicts for nationalist interests.
Moscow says the action it launched on Feb. 24 is a "special military operation" designed not to occupy territory but to demilitarise and "denazify" its neighbour.
Francis has already rejected that terminology, calling it a war.
"From the east of Europe, from the land of the sunrise, the dark shadows of war have now spread. We had thought that invasions of other countries, savage street fighting and atomic threats were grim memories of a distant past," the pope said in an address to Maltese officials after arriving on the Mediterranean island nation for a two-day visit.
"However, the icy winds of war, which bring only death, destruction and hatred in their wake, have swept down powerfully upon the lives of many people and affected us all," he said.
"Once again, some potentate, sadly caught up in anachronistic claims of nationalist interests, is provoking and fomenting conflicts, whereas ordinary people sense the need to build a future that, will either be shared, or not be at all," he said.
Francis' voice was strong but he sat to deliver his speech. For the first time in his 36 trips abroad, a flare up of pain in his knee had forced him to use a freight lift to board the plane in Rome and to disembark in Valletta - to avoid "unnecessary strain", Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said.
The pope, who was limping as he walked in the presidential palace, has already strongly condemned what he has called an "unjustified aggression" and denounced "atrocities" in the war.

At the start of Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court hearings last week, Republicans made a solemn promise: They would not treat her as badly as Democrats had treated Brett M. Kavanaugh during his 2018 confirmation hearings — a set of circumstances Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) called “one of the lowest moments in the history of this [Senate Judiciary] committee.”
The reviews are in. And not only do Americans support Jackson’s confirmation significantly more than they supported other recent nominees — they also view Republicans’ handling of it about as poorly as they view Democrats’ handling of Kavanaugh, if not worse.
A Quinnipiac University poll this week was the latest to show relatively strong support for Jackson’s confirmation: 51 percent supported it, while 30 percent opposed it. Support for her is higher than it was for the confirmations of Trump’s last two nominees, including Kavanaugh, whose confirmation Americans opposed. A CNN poll showed Americans opposed it by as much as double digits.
As the Russian forces exercise their scorched earth policy, the U.S. is pledging to help keep Ukraine supplied. The Department of Defense announced an additional $300 million in military equipment for Ukraine.

To win in November, though, Democrats need to come after the democratic failures and civics blind spots of the GOP relentlessly. Rather than deal with the GOP painting Democrats as the party of CRT, they need to turn the tables and paint the GOP as the party that doesn't even understand the government they want to lead. Democrats need to portray GOP candidates as entirely unqualified to work in our government and whenever they get the chance they need to grill their opponents on basic facts related to the constitution, the branches of government and the core principles of a democracy.
