Trump still beating Biden in head to head...

And keep in mind, Biden won by 4.5% popular vote and was just a few thousand votes away from losing electoral college. Probably needs to win by at least 3 percent to secure an actual victory.

Keep in mind: If the situation does not improve for Biden, he will probably not be the Dem nominee. Nor will Harris.

Does this give Biden room to pivot ?
"Berlin(CNN)Germany must reduce natural gas consumption and increase the burning of coal in order to help fill gas storage facilities for next winter, German Economy Minister Robert Habeck announced Sunday as the country moves away from reduced Russian gas supplies.

"The situation is serious," Habeck said in a statement. "We are therefore continuing to strengthen precautions and taking additional measures to reduce gas consumption. This means that gas consumption must fall further, but more gas must be put into the storage facilities, otherwise things will really get tight in winter."

'It was a PERFECT CALL': Trump lashes out before Brad Raffensperger's House testimony

Tom Boggioni

June 19, 2022

On Sunday morning Donald Trump once again went on the attack against the House select committee investigating the Jan 6th insurrection and sought to undercut expected testimony from Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger scheduled for Tuesday.

At issue for Trump is the phone call he made to the Georgia Republican ordering him to find more votes so he could claim Georgia's 16 Electoral College votes.

That phone call has become central to both the House committee hearings as well as a Georgia grand jury investigation into Trump's attempts to steal the election.

Trump kicked off the morning by posting on Truth Social," The highly partisan Unselects are trying to create a FAKE narrative, for whatever reason but only with evil intention, that 'He (me) knew he lost the Election.' This is completely false. I felt the Election was RIGGED & STOLLEN, have from the very beginning, & have only gotten stronger in that belief with time & large amounts of additional evidence and proof. In my mind I have, & HAVE HAD, NO QUESTION, and MANY people would be willing to so attest, but the Unselects don’t want to hear them……" and then adding, "I am leading in every poll, by a lot, and the Democrats are doing everything they can to change that, even if it’s another Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, Mueller Scam, Impeachment waste of time, or whatever. The same lying people saying the same kind of thing. I only want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

He then wrote, "My phone call to the Georgia Secretary of State, with many other people, including numerous lawyers, knowingly on the line, was absolutely PERFECT and appropriate. YES, it was a PERFECT CALL (and so was the second call for which the Washington Post was forced to do a major, and somewhat embarrassing, retraction). Thank you!"

He concluded his rant by adding, "I have sooo many witnesses to everything good, but the highly partisan and one sided Unselect Committee of political hacks has not interest in hearing or seeing them. This Witch Hunt could all be ended quickly if they did!

You new talking πŸ‘„ point

But the hearings are having some impact on Trump's failed attempted coup.

With the first full week of hearings for the House select committee's investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol now complete, nearly 6 in 10 Americans believe former President Donald Trump should be charged with a crime for his role in the incident, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds.

Six in 10 Americans also believe the committee is conducting a fair and impartial investigation, according to the poll.

In the poll, which was conducted by Ipsos in partnership with ABC News using Ipsos' KnowledgePanel, 58% of Americans think Trump should be charged with a crime for his role in the riot. That's up slightly from late April, before the hearings began, when an ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 52% of Americans thought the former president should be charged.

An ABC News/Washington Post poll that asked a similar question days after the attack in January 2021 found that 54% of Americans thought Trump should be charged with the crime of inciting a riot.

The bottom line is that the former president is still a clear and present danger to the Constitution of the United States of America.

We need to set a precident on future Presidential candidates .

Nonetheless, as Garland weighs whether to move forward with investigating and charging Trump, experts caution a prosecution of Trump would require enormous resources, given the unprecedented nature of such a high-stakes case, and the risks that a jury could end up acquitting Trump – which might only enhance his appeal to the Republican base. Yet at the same time ,the stakes for the country of not aggressively investigating Trump are also extremely high.

“No one should underestimate the gravity of deciding to criminally charge an ex-president,” said former federal prosecutor Dennis Aftergut.

For Aftergut, though, charging Trump seems imperative.

“Ultimately, the avalanche of documents and sworn testimony proving a multi-faceted criminal conspiracy to overturn the will of the people means one thing: if no one is above the law, even an ex-president who led that conspiracy must be indicted.”

WSJ playing catch up.
"Recession Probability Soars as Inflation WorsensEconomists see interest-rate increases raising likelihood of recession to 44% in coming 12 months"

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

I hope that she is correct.

Joe Biden’s treasury secretary Janet Yellen says she expects “the economy to slow” but continued insisting that a full-blown recession is not “at all inevitable”.

Yellen’s remarks on Sunday came days after the US central bank moved to sharply raise interest rates in an effort to contain soaring inflation.

She told ABC’s This Week host George Stephanopoulous that her financial outlook results from how the economy has “been growing at a very rapid rate, as the economy, as the labor market, has recovered and we have reached full employment”.

“It’s natural now that we expect a transition to steady and stable growth, but I don’t think a recession is at all inevitable,” Yellen added.

Pressed on the issue of inflation, which polls indicate is a top priority for US voters as the midterm elections in November approach, Yellen said inflation causes are global, not local, and those factors are unlikely to diminish immediately.

Yellen said some trade tariffs on China inherited from the administration of former President Donald Trump made “no strategic sense”. She added that Biden was reviewing them as a way to bring down inflation.

“Clearly, inflation is unacceptably high,” Yellen said. “It’s President Biden’s top priority to bring it down.”

Sunday Morning News is interesting

“Clearly, inflation is unacceptably high,” Yellen said. “It’s President Biden’s top priority to bring it down.”

How will the Fed’s rate increase bring inflation under control?

Increasing the rate won’t lower gas prices which are at the heart of our inflation now.

It’ll slow down, home and auto purchases and increase the cost associated with EXPANDING OIL EXPLORATION and exacerbate the problem.

This is the gang that can’t shoot straight

This president’s tendency to proceed with caution—a deliberative style he honed during his time as vice president and his decades in the U.S. Senate—has annoyed some of his own aides at times, according to people with direct knowledge of the matter, and the public sector doesn't like it.

Suspension of gas taxes would’ve been a far better move and open up drilling

WASHINGTON (AP) — Members of the House committee investigating the Capitol riot said Sunday they may subpoena former Vice President Mike Pence and are waiting to hear from Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, about her role in the illegal plot to overturn the 2020 election.

Lawmakers indicated they will release more evidence about Donald Trump’s alleged effort to defraud supporters by fundraising off false claims of a stolen presidential election. They also pledged to provide pertinent material to the Justice Department by the end of the month for its criminal investigation. The department complained in a letter last week that the committee was complicating its investigation by not sharing transcripts from its 1,000 interviews.

“We’re not taking anything off the table in terms of witnesses who have not yet testified,” said Rep. Adam Schiff, who described a Pence subpoena as “certainly a possibility.”

Republican Adam Kinzinger faces threats of assassination against him, his wife and new baby

Sarah K. Burris

June 19, 2022

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) isn't seeking reelection but his position on the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack has made his life more dangerous.

While appearing on ABC's "This Week," Kinzinger revealed one of the death threats against him, specifically mentioning his wife and their five-month-old baby.

"I’d never seen or had anything like that. It was sent from the local area," he said.

Kinzinger isn't the only one, right-wing members and conspiracy theorists have been among the top groups to threaten officials at the federal, state and even local election officials. The threats against the local officials have been so serious that the Justice Department was forced to send local police departments guidance.

Evidence Links Trump to Fake Electors Scheme

June 19, 2022 at 7:39 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 385 Comments

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) told CNN the January 6 Committee will reveal evidence that Donald Trump was involved in a failed effort to overturn the election by appointing pro-Trump electors in states won by Joe Biden.

ISN'T THAT ILLEGAL?

Said Schiff:
“We’ll also again show evidence about what his own lawyers came to think about this scheme."

YEAH, WE SURE DO WANT TO HEAR THAT!

"And we’ll show courageous state officials who stood up and said they wouldn’t go along with this plan to either call legislatures back into session or decertify the results for Joe Biden.”

WHICH PROVES THERE WERE A LOT OF PEOPLE IN OUR COUNTRY WHO, REGARDLESS OF PARTY OR POSTION, PUT HONESTY AND INTEGRITY AND A PREFERENCE FOR THE TRUTH ABOVE ALL ELSE.

I'M THINKING THEY ARE STILL MANY IN NUMBER.

81 MILLION ANTI TRUMP VOTES
SUGGEST THEY ARE.
