Well the "dumb" Democrats are buying it...

Poll: Even Dems not buying Biden's "Putin Price Hike" spin
Of those responding, 64% said Biden was “responsible,” choosing either “very responsible” (38%) or “somewhat responsible” (26%). Just 25% answered “not responsible”, with 17% saying “not very responsible” but a far-smaller 8% saying “not at all responsible.” “Not sure” was 10%.
But most surprising of all, Democrats have thrown in the towel on Biden’s economic leadership, with 53% blaming Biden’s policies for inflation vs. 39% saying they weren’t responsible.
Indeed, of all the major demographic groupings followed by the I&I/TIPP Poll, just one was below 50% overall: self-described “liberals.” All the other groups, including blacks (61%), Hispanics (61%), men (68%), women (61%), along with every income group, every age group, and every education group, all felt Biden’s policies caused the current inflation mess.

I am curious as to how stupid someone has to be to blame "Putin" for inflation that started prior to Russia even invading Ukraine. Of course, these are likely the same Democrats who still argue that Putin was in cahoots with Trump during the 2016 election and helped "steal it".  In other words, some people will believe "anything" they are told if they want to believe it enough.

The president of Russia has the ability to affect gas prices but the president of the USA does not. That's what this pitiful president wants us to think.

Does anyone think Trump was helpless in affecting gad prices?

Los Angeles County homebuying tumbles 16% as house payments soar 37%

Los Angeles County homebuying cooled by 16.1% in May as rising prices and soaring mortgage rates pushed up house payments 37%.

Across Southern California, 20,470 single-family, condominium, existing and newly constructed homes — sold in six counties, down 5% for the month, and down 16% over the past year. The region’s median price of $760,000 was flat for the month, and up 13% over 12 months.

addressing homelessness.

The surge of homelessness is becoming an urgent reality for many in our city. On any given night, there are approximately 907 homeless individuals in Santa Monica. In the greater LA region, that number is closer to 66,000. Rising rents, stagnant wages, and a decreased supply of affordable housing means that almost 7,000 people in LA County lose their housing every month.

You can't get to see how democrats are destroying America any better than to look at Santa Monica

An all blue city in an all blue state

Costs are surging

gas has hit $7 a gallon

housing costs up 37 %

mortgage rates are surging so it will only get worse

electric rates are surging

companies are fleeing

how long until people follow

Escape from LA

soon to be coming to a town near you

well at least they are looking to kick Soros DA Gascon out of office

so maybe a few people will be housed in jail finally

and until then more will be housed in cemeteries

Former Vice President Mike Pence discussed President Joe Biden committing “so many falsehoods” with former Trump adviser Larry Kudlow on Fox Business:

KUDLOW: Have you ever seen a president who refuses to accept blame, and I want to add to that, commits so many falsehoods? I’m being very polite here, calling it falsehoods – falsehoods, you know, on any given day. He’s out there saying stuff that just ain’t true. Have you ever seen anything like that?

PENCE: Never in my lifetime. I said today that there has never been a time in my life where a president was more disconnected from the American people than we see today.

The House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol attack is expected to show at its fourth hearing on Tuesday that Donald Trump and top advisers coordinated the scheme to send fake slates of electors as part of an effort to return him to the White House.

The panel is expected to also examine Trump’s campaign to pressure top officials in seven crucial battleground states to corruptly reverse his defeat to Joe Biden in the weeks and months after the 2020 election.

At the afternoon hearing, the select committee is expected to focus heavily on the fake electors scheme, which has played a large part in its nearly year-long investigation into Trump’s effort to overturn the results of the election at the state level.

The panel will show how the fake electors scheme – which may have been illegal – was the underlying basis for Trump’s unlawful strategy to have his vice-president, Mike Pence, refuse to certify Biden’s win in certain states and grant him a second term.

Local election official's testimony strikes back at pro-Trump conspiracy theorists that accused her of stealing votes

Sarah K. Burris

June 20, 2022

Former Georgia election worker Wandrea ArShaye "Shaye" Moss will join Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, his deputy Gabe Sterling in the fourth public hearing by the House Select Committee addressing the Jan. 6 attack on Congress and attempt to overthrow the 2020 election.

Moss' statement was released by the committee Tuesday evening showing that she intends to address some of the conspiracy theories claiming that she somehow attempted to steal the election by passing something to her mother, who was also working to count votes after the vote.

Trump and Rudy Giuliani both accused her of fraud which resulted in death threats.

"In early December, former President Trump, Rudy Giuliani, and other allies started spreading terrible lies about my mother and me," she intends to tell the committee. "They said we snuck ballots into the State Farm Arena in a suitcase. That is a lie. They said we lied about a water main break to kick observers out. That is a lie. They said we counted ballots multiple times to try to steal the election. That is a lie. And they said we passed around flash drives to try to hack voting machines. That's a lie, too— the thing they got so worked up about my mom passing to me was a ginger mint. Her favorite candy."

READ: Pressure on Trump and his allies intensifies as Jan. 6 committee rolls out shocking new evidence

A committee aid told the press that they will continue to highlight the pressure campaign by Trump and his allies and those who were on the receiving end of Trump's attacks and the threats by his supporters.

"During this hearing, what we'll demonstrate is that President Trump and his allies drove a pressure campaign based on lies and these lies led to threats that put state and local officials and their families at risk, these lies perpetuated the public's belief that the election was stolen, tainted by widespread fraud. And these lies also contributed to the violence on January 6," the committee aide said. "We will show that the President was warned that these actions, including false claims of election fraud, pressuring state and local officials, risked violence did it anyway."

Geezus. What is it about leftists and death threats. Is there a leftist alive that doesn't receive several dozen death threats per day?

Is it some sort of leftist chic?

And then you have a clown like Adam Kinzinger who wrote a death threatening letter to HIMSELF, thinking that no one would ever think of comparing the handwriting of the letter to his own.

LOL.

Alky, you must receive at least a couple of death threats per day in your psychiatric hospital, no?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House 1/6 committee is set to hear from the caretakers of American democracy — elections workers and local officials — who fended off Donald Trump’s pressure to overturn the 2020 presidential election, at times despite frightening personal attacks.

The hearings investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the U.S. Capitol resume Tuesday with a focus on Trump’s relentless effort to undo Joe Biden’s victory in the most local way — by leaning on officials in key battleground states to reject ballots outright or to submit alternative electors for the final tally in Congress. The pressure was fueled by the defeated president’s false claims of voter fraud which, the panel says, led directly to the riot at the Capitol.

Embattled Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is scheduled to testify about Trump’s phone call asking him to “find 11,780” votes that could flip the state to prevent Biden’s election victory.

The Grand Jury is expected to determine whether charge the former President this year.

It is never easy to prosecute a president or a former president, but this prosecution is far and away the best option at this moment. And it should be pursued quickly — no matter what else emerges about the criminal conspiracy to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

This is not to take away from the Jan. 6 committee’s extraordinary work or the criminal cases it is helping to build. The committee’s investigation and the hearings have already provided powerful evidence that the former president engaged in a sweeping and wide-ranging criminal conspiracy in leading the first attempted presidential coup in U.S. history.

Today the hearings will have the most powerful videos and testimonials we have seen. It won't change any minds here, but we may see a change in public opinions as the highlights are on local news television shows.

Jan. 6 hearing will prove ‘fake elector’ scheme was illegal — and show Trump was directly involved

The House Select Committee will demonstrate at its next hearing that a scheme to send alternate electors to Congress was illegal, and former president Donald Trump was directly involved in planning and executing the plan.

Committee aides told reporters that Tuesday afternoon's hearing, which starts at 1 p.m. EST, would highlight evidence that Trump was directly aware of the fake electors scheme and was actively involved in carrying it out, and the hearing led by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) would also show the ex-president and his inner circle knew the plan was unlawful, reported Politico.

“John - what would you think of producing a legal memo outlining the constitutional role of state legislators in designating electors?” wrote Trump attorney Cleta Mitchell to conservative attorney John Eastman on Nov. 5, 2020. “Rather than governors, the US Constitution vests that responsibility with state legislators. … why couldn’t legislatures reclaim that constitutional duty, and designate the electors - rather than delegating to governors.”

Eastman wrote a memo later that month that was forwarded to the Oval Office by Trump campaign attorney Jenna Ellis, according to documents reviewed by the select committee, and Eastman began consulting directly with state legislators to pursue the scheme -- and he urged some to simply retabulate their vote totals to show Trump won.

“A reasonable argument might further be made that when resolving a dispute between competing electoral slates, Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution places a firm thumb on the scale on the side of the State legislature,” Eastman wrote in one memo.

However, Eastman himself admitted in emails seen by the select committee that his plan would be "dead on arrival" unless state legislatures backed it, and Trump's own White House counsel raised doubts about the scheme and Vice President Mike Pence's chief counsel Greg Jacob told Eastman no Supreme Court justices would support the plan, to which Eastman reluctantly agreed

The GOP’s Descent Into Political Darkness

June 21, 2022 at 9:32 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 41 Comments

The January 6 Committee meets again today to explore how Donald Trump became the first president in U.S. history to try to overturn an election to remain in power.

That story by itself is particularly troubling for the future of our democracy. But it’s only the backdrop for several days of particularly dark political news.

Here’s what happened since the beginning of the weekend:

The Texas Republican Party released a platform calling Joe Biden an illegitimate president.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), who leads the Senate GOP campaign arm, called the progressive left of the Democratic party “the enemy within.

”Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) predicted there would be more political violence from members of his party.

Missouri U.S. Senate candidate Eric Greitens (R) released a campaign video which urged Republicans to murder “RINOs.”

As First Read notes, this grim news is coming exclusively from Republicans. There is no parallel on the Democratic side.

What’s worse is that there has been no outcry in response to this news from any prominent Republicans.

Raffensperger, with his deputy Gabe Sterling and Arizona’s Republican state House Speaker Rusty Bowers, are to be key witnesses, along with Wandrea “Shay” Moss, a former Georgia election worker who, with her mother, have said they faced such severe public harassment from Trump allies they felt unable to live normal lives.

The public testimony from Raffensperger comes weeks after he appeared before a special grand jury in Georgia investigating whether Trump and others illegally tried to intervene in the state’s 2020 election, and after Raffensperger beat a Trump-backed challenger in last month’s primary election.

Sterling, Raffensperger’s chief operating officer, became a notable figure in Georgia’s long post-election counting, and recounting, of the presidential ballots, with his regular updates often broadcast live to a divided nation. At one point, the soft-spoken Republican implored Americans to tone down the heated rhetoric.

“Death threats, physical threats, intimidation — it’s too much, it’s not right,” he said.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The select committee also plans to untangle the elaborate “fake electors” scheme that sought to have representatives in as many as seven battlegrounds — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada and New Mexico — sign certificates falsely stating that Trump, not Biden, had won their states.

Conservative law professor John Eastman, a lawyer for Trump, pushed the fake electors in the weeks after the election. Trump and Eastman convened hundreds of electors on a call on Jan. 2, 2021, encouraging them to send alternative slates from their states where Trump’s team was claiming fraud.

The fake electors idea was designed to set up a challenge on Jan. 6, 2021, when Congress met in joint session, with Vice President Mike Pence presiding over what is typically a ceremonial role to accept the states’ vote tallies. But the effort collapsed, as Pence refused Trump’s repeated demands that he simply halt the certification of Biden’s win — a power he believed he did not possess in his purely ceremonial role.

At least 20 people in connection with the fake electors scheme were subpoenaed by the House panel. The committee says it will also show that it has gathered enough evidence through its more than 1,000 interviews and tens of thousands of documents to connect the varying efforts to overturn the election directly to Trump.

Associated Press writer Bob Christie in Phoenix contributed to this report.

If they reveal a direct connection to the former President Trump, the Attorney General Merrick Garland will be under pressure to prosecute Trump.
