DeSantis causes a national stir by firing a prosecutor

Ron DeSantis is right to suspend Tampa’s woke prosecutor
This week, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made another shrewd political move, showing why many Republicans think he is their best shot to win back the White House. DeSantis suspended Tampa’s woke prosecutor, Andrew Warren, for failing to do his duty and enforce the law.

The governor didn’t just assert his power. He laid out a clear, detailed, substantive case for why he is suspending Warren from office. DeSantis’s move was both smart politically and sound constitutionally (assuming the courts uphold his suspension).

So much debate on whether or not this was the "right" thing to do here. DeSantis is making the argument that Warren has a sworn duty to uphold all laws while Warren is demanding that he was "elected" to serve and that the Governor had no right to suspend (or fire) him. Quite obviously DeSantis is right that Warren took at oath when he took office. Warren is correct to say he was "elected" but at this point wrong to say he could not be fired.  He just was and was taken by forces from his office by the police.

By nearly every legal account the Governor is on solid constitutional ground. Warren has pledged (in writing) that he will not enforce laws that he disagrees with. That is not how our rule of law works in America or in our states. Warren's argument is reminiscent of the sanctuary city fad. While these are popular in certain areas of the country, they are little more than a political distinction and they do not prevent State or Federal authorities from being able to arrest lawbreakers. Doesn't matter if this is about illegal immigrants or guns. The same reality applies.

Now the left is besides themselves over this. Perhaps this was how they believed they would get around laws they didn't approve of. Try to find prosecutors who simply refused to do their jobs?

At this point the main argument seems to be that he hasn't actually done anything yet? But the issue at hand is that how would you "know" if he is actively pursuing these cases or not? How long do you wait for him to do "nothing" before you declare that doing "nothing" is running contrary to the law?

Bottom line. I believe the argument about action vs speech is red herring. The left wants Warren to buck the law and they do not like DeSantis making the move.  At the end of the day both DeSantis and Warren have made their play. Both should stand by it and let the chips fall as they may.

Have another subject to bring up? Fine. But let it be somewhat relevant and provide something of substance other than a C&P. If we can all behave for a while, perhaps we can get back to open comments.

This Woke strategy is a modern method of propaganda. During the Cold War the allies had radio stations across the border of the Soviet Union and broadcasted the same kind of information that you want to censor the dirty information about the Soviet Union and their jails full of their opponents. Eventually in 1991 they died

Governor DeSantis is censoring information that he doesn't like 🙄

This is modern day attack on the first amendment rights of free speech.

You will not publish it.

Gov. DeSantis , did what is in the best interest of His State and The Crime Victims.
An opportunity taken to drive home his policy on Justice for all.

DeSantis is removing someone who is on record as saying he will not do his job. Think back to when you were a grunt apprentice worker and you decided to let your boss know that you were not going to do key parts of your job because of some personal issue you had. You didn't think such and such was the best design or didn't like how something was being wired. So you just were not going to do it. No religious reasons or religious exceptions that the actual first amendment would protect. You just didn't agree with your job description.

You would have been fired the next day. No questions asked.

You can have all the "free speech" you want. Just cannot demand that your employer "work around it" when it is a key part of your job and not part of a religious exemption situation.

to be "woke" is now defined s to be aware of racial and social injustices.

Some conservatives are scared of people who woke up and see that racism and discrimination still exists.

They actually want to close public book rooms.

Pornogrphy should be banned. Especially on pedophilia.

The current cultural war is a disaster for the nation.

Roger, here is your first chance to show you understand and will abit by the new decorum rules.
In my opinion , you failed.
But, redem your self , answer this.
"Governor DeSantis is censoring information that he doesn't like 🙄"

DeSantis and the Republican lawmakers refused to expand Medicaid to almost 800,000 Floridians.

Mostly poor people of color who don't vote for Republicans.

Personally I think he is more dangerous than you know who.

No woke is defined as being intolerant of any view or opinions other than those of the progressive left. Any republican doing well in the polls will be deemed an ultra maga Trump clone. They're trying hard to do it to DeSantis. Government Hochul is doing it to Lee Zeldin. But back to DeSantis, the real measurement will be from the indy swing voters.

So, Roger do you have actual evidence to support your statement?

"Governor DeSantis is censoring information that he doesn't like 🙄"

Exactly what has Gov. DeSantis "censored" and who by name did he "censor".

On the day he was nominated the soars GOP kicked the neoconservative wing out of the sphere of influence, a process that began after Mitt Romney’s defeat in 2012. Bush-ism died.

I disagreed with GW Bush but since then the soars Republicans have left the coldheartedtruth.

The American Thinker exposed the Deep State theory is still in control on the current Republican Party 🥳

Every year kids from around the country enter a contest, the Spelling Bee, to test their ability to spell often difficult words better than anyone else.  If adults held a Constitution Bee, the winner this week would be Florida governor Ron DeSantis and the loser would be White House Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre.

It has been the game in many states, particularly those where the attorney generals were elected with a big assist from leftist moneybag George Soros and friends, to refuse to enforce (usually criminal) laws adopted by state legislatures with which they disagree. This week, Governor DeSantis played his ace in the hole, removing state attorney Andrew Warren for overstepping his constitutional boundaries.

The Senate pushed through the night with a series of rapid-fire amendment votes, with the bill on track to pass as soon as Sunday.

To be woke today is to be full of unsubstantiated grievances that you demand everyone else accepts as fact or all hell will broke loose.

I get it Roger? As as a white person you assume other white people must be racist because that is obviously how "you feel"? That you are racist therefor other white people must be too?

If not... if you do not believe yourself to be inherently racist... then why do you believes other white people are?

At the end of the day Roger...

You fear DeSantis because he is a less shrill (but probably equally effective) conservative like Trump. You fear that if he were to run for President in 2024 and become the nominee that he will be a more effective President than Trump was.

You fear that the economy would rebound, that crime would fall, that the border would be closed down, and your utopia ideals of a liberal society of bullying conservatives, more people dependent on the Government, and unfettered crime... will be doomed!

Same old tired Roger.

Stated :

Oh hope this c and p is alright in this new form.

Roger here’s a Kaiser foundation breakdown of Floridians on Medicaid

35% white, 24.8% black, 34.5% Hispanic

Try not find to racism everywhere, especially when it doesn’t exist, it is tiresome.

Ot but this is why I am so excited because my grandchildren will grow up in a cleaner environment.

If signed into law, the bill, formally known as the Inflation Reduction Act, would allocate $369bn to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and investing in renewable energy sources. Experts have estimated the climate provisions of the bill will reduce America’s planet-heating emissions by about 40% by 2030, compared with 2005 levels.

Wow the employer in charge of their employees, horrors. Why did FDR believe public employees should not be allowed to unionize?

Here it is in a nutshell. I am being somewhat generous to you here.

But you keep posting about something else... and nobody is interested - only complaining.

Does this give you "any" inkling of understanding?

or does it not sink into that "genius brain"?
