The cries of hypocrisy from the left are amusing and exposes their own inability to see such hypocrisy in themselves.

Screams of whataboutism are a cover for the fact that hypocrisy is the bedrock of liberalism...

Here is the reality here folks:
  • If you voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 then your actions and deeds PROVE beyond any doubt that you believe it is acceptable for a politician to have classified government materials in personal possession outside of the scure Government locations where they are designed to be.
  • What you say or argue today is irrelevant. You made your point clear with your vote how you stand on this issue. Nobody should pay even the slightest attention to your scream about Donald Trump today, when you tangibly defended Hillary Clinton with your vote in 2016.
  • Hillary Clinton was not charged with the crime of mishandling government documents. The ONLY consistency allowed at this point is to treat the two politicians the same. Providing them with the same treatment is the opposite of hypocrisy. Expecting different treatment for Trump than Clinton is hypocrisy, plain and simple.
So we know there are a handful of people here who voted for Hillary Clinton. They made it clear with that vote that mishandling classified documents (by their own arguments) should not be a crime and that it should not disqualify anyone from the Presidency.

Sure, there were many of us who argued that she broke the letter of the law. But James Comey determined that "no reasonable prosecutor" would charge her because of a lack of nefarious intent and Attorney General Lynch agreed. She was not charged, creating a new standard for the mishandling of classified documents.

So if you voted for Hillary Clinton and are now argument differently than you argued back then. You are a hypocrite with no defense of your hypocrisy whatsoever. At least if you previously argued that Clinton should have been charged, you have the legitimate argument that she was not charged and that it would be hypocritical for Trump to be charged.  That is pointing out reality. It is not hypocrisy.

I am sure if some liberals could go back in time, knowing what they know now, they may have not defended Clinton. Perhaps had Lynch charged her with the crimes, then charging Trump today would not be such a blatant act of political hypocrisy.

Lastly (and I am repeating the most important point here)... if you voted for Hillary. Then what you argue about Trump cannot be taken seriously. Not in any manner or regard. If the same argument comes from a liberal who voted for Hillary, then their argument cannot be taken seriously regardless of their standing. As blog host, I have no interest in that sort of hypocrisy.

In the comment section the Reverend in a long winded rant suggested that there were many many mainstream Republicans that are no longer supporting Trump on his actions or even moving into the camp of suggesting he is a criminal...

but he didn't list anyone...

I had another 20 some comments all linking WaPo articles and multiple comments from the Reverend linking a "youtube" video as if someone on youtube has the goods on Trump that nobody else has. I would assume that every last one of these argument come from Hillary voters?

Can anyone tell me why someone who defended and voted for Hillary should be taken seriously at this point about wanting to charge Trump?

Obviously there could be actual evidence brought up at some point that provides some proof of nefarious actions taken. Perhaps there is evidence of Trump trading secret nuclear documents to the Chinese or the Russians for some hotel deal or something. Nothing can be completely ruled out.

So far all I have seen is speculation as to what sort of nefarious actions he "could" take. The potential for criminal actions is not criminal in and of itself. According to the espionage act, the state would have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he "meant" to commit a crime with the materials that were in his storage locker.

Meanwhile Roger did suggest in one of his longwinded rants...

That the storage facility in his personal residence that the Secret Service put under lock and key (installed additional security) and had 24 hour surveillance...

Was actually a storage locker at the resort area and had no padlock on it?

And Lil Scotty still thinks trump saying something is declassified makes it such.....BWAAAAAAAAAA. The contents still are top secret and disclosure can bring great harm the the US!!! Why is that such a hard concept for our genius host??? His diatribe on James is most amusing as more and more evidence is revealed that Trump illegally took government property from the WH which by law is a felony....oh well....

Ch has begun to refuse to even allow me to mention videos you might want to look at that are revealing how Trump has tripped himself up in lie contradicting lie contradicting lie contradicting lie contradicting lie contradictring liw etc., etc., etc.

Morning Joe this morning sure did a job on Trump in that respect.

And as for the Hillary reference I made, Ch didn't allow me to say what I actually said.

Ch claims he's for freedom of speech and allowing us all to express our own opinions, but when he gets really pushed up against overwhelming difficulties, he simply does not allow the opposing viewpoint to be heard.

I would never do that. I would allow Ch's view to be heard no matter how wrongheaded I consider it to be.

Because I believe in freedom of speech and democracy, not fascistic Trump-style censorship.

Reverend...

These are "comment threads" where people like to engage in back and forth debate. Cutting and pasting links and demanding people read them... or putting up YouTube videos and demanding someone else watch them is not an argument.

If people wanted to read WaPo or NYT or watch YouTube videos... they are free to do so.

This is not about Freedom of speech, but about common courtesy, manners, and respect for everyone else here. The threads have gone from reasonable debates to being dominated by two people cutting and pasting and linking all day long.

Moreover... it hasn't stopped since I started moderation. I probably deleted 50 comments one day last week that actually were derivatives of the same two or arguably three arguments that you and Roger were trying to make.

You can make the same argument in ONE comment. Look to see if someone reacts or debates with you. But you guys cannot just do that. If nobody response, you repeat yourself. Then you repeat it in bold. Then you find some other media dope who is arguing something nearly identical and you link that. Then you link it again. Then you link it in bold.

Neither you or Roger seems to have the self control to wait to see if anyone cares about what you are putting in the comments.

And by "you" I mean both you and Roger (Roger even more).

The alky is mentally ill, fooling no one but himself. And he gets to die in a psychiatric hospital. LOL.

C.H. Truth said...

It would be akin to me putting a post up... hardly anyone responding to it. So I just post it again on the next post. Then I post the same thing again... but the entire post is in bold. Then perhaps I post the same argument, but I put in some blockquotes and link a different article?

How stupid would this blog look if I posted the same way that you and Roger comment.

Right.

With all of the fascistic censorship coming EXCLUSIVELY from the left.

At least Trump was president and had the authority to declassify whatever he wanted. Hillary had no such authority.

I have been keeping my comments shorter and have been expressing my own opinions more and relying far less on cutting and pasting, which, by the way, you do some of, for example, in seven of your last ten thread articles (not counting the Sunday funnies).

You mislead regarding what my posts have really been like. You said I thought the warrant and the affidavit were the same when I never said that, but that is easy for you to say when you do not post what I really said.

In the future I suggest that if you are going to criticize something I said, first let me say it.

I literally NEVER read any of these links and I certainly would never watch a YouTube video based on your or Roger's recommendation. When I see anything like that (or anything with bold font) it is totally ignored 99% of the time by most everyone.

I am trying to allow each of you to make comments at least once per subject as long as they are not totally stupid things that you are just repeating from a different thread yesterday.

Another problem brought up (and certainly experienced with me) is that we start a debate... you bring something up. It gets questioned. You might respond, there is a response back waiting for an answer...

crickets...

then you make the EXACT SAME ORIGINAL argument on a new thread - that you left hanging on a previous thread...

as if you are wanting a "do-over" to the debate because you came across something you could not answer.

half the time I don't even believe you or Roger are trying to convince conservatives. You are just trying to convince yourself and the constant repeating of the same argument just makes you feel better.
