Did all of the smarter Democrat pundits suddenly go silent on the Mar-a-Lago documents story because it fell apart? I'm only seeing the least-credible types harping on it today.

Nuclear secrets! Rumors of break ins to the storage! Plots to take over the world with Vladimir Putin! Conspiracies of pure evil!
But when the affidavit was released we saw pretty much nothing "other" than a document dispute with the National Archives and disputes regarding the classifications of about 300 different documents. Oh... and about half of those documents had already been voluntarily provided to the FBI previously resulting in no threats of charges for the ex-President harboring classified documents in a nefarious manner.
Apparently the concept must be that a President hanging onto 150 documents (that he claims he declassified) for a little over a year is perfectly acceptable. But keeping another 150 for an additional few months is worthy of 30 armed FBI agents ransacking through the residence without restriction?
There is literally "nothing" in the affidavit that explains that reasoning!
Which is why the "smarter" liberal "experts" are remaining quite "mum".

You are exactly 💯 correct 👏 👍 👌
When are the great Agents, and others, in the FBI going to say “we aren’t going to take it anymore,” much as they did when James Comey read off a list of all of Crooked Hillary Clinton’s crimes, only to say that no reasonable prosecutor would prosecute. The wonderful people of the FBI went absolutely “nuts,” so Comey had to backtrack and do a FAKE INVESTIGATION in order to keep them at bay. The end result, we won in 2016 (and did MUCH better in 2020!). But now the “Left” has lost their minds!!!
Even the craziest Republicans went silent about this!
But generally, even the most bombastic Republicans — Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Jim Jordan of Ohio — were at least initially focused elsewhere. Ms. Greene was posting on Friday about border “invasions.” Ms. Boebert noted on Twitter the anniversary of the suicide bombing of U.S. service members at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan. Mr. Jordan was focused on an interview with Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook founder. None tweeted about the affidavit.
Lmao at your TLS
Sorry Roger....
All the conservatives "I" read are pretty much laughing at the affidavit and the legal people (McCarthy and others) believe that it makes it "less" likely Trump gets indicted.
Laugh at this:
Trump Might Talk Himself Into Being Charged

Andrew McCarthy: “Perhaps the most overlooked sentence in the partially disclosed affidavit released Friday is on Page 2: “There is also probable cause to believe that evidence of obstruction will be found at the PREMISES” (i.e., Mar-a-Lago).”
Simply put, it would be easy to make that case against Trump.
Also simply put:
“Second, the former president could easily talk himself into being charged if he continues to rail against Justice Department and FBI corruption.”
McCarthy is a gutless jerk.
I just don't know how they can justify indicting Trump for anything when hillary was given s complete pass and they said nothing about obama's millions of docs.
We shall see 👀 😏 😌 😉
Trump Will Be 'Prosecuted' Over Classified Documents: Former FBI Lawyer
BY FATMA KHALED ON 8/27/22 AT 11:01 AM EDT
NEWS DONALD TRUMP FBI RAID MAR-A-LAGO U.S. POLITICS
Andrew Weissmann, a former Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutor, said Friday that former President Donald Trump will be "prosecuted" over the way he handled classified documents after the FBI search warrant affidavit was unsealed.
Reverend...
McCarthy has stated over and over and over that he does not believe that the Justice Department even "wants" to charge Trump over classified documents even if they could. He has suggested time and time again that these are complicated cases and even more complicated when it involves a ex-President who arguably has declassification authority.
Not to mention the blowback they would get over charging a Republican for something a Democrat was not charged with. That would be the most obvious problem (even if they could prove the charges which many, including McCarthy, has suggested is not the slam dunk some believe it would be). I mean all it would take is one Trump voter on the jury and it would be almost impossible to get a "unanimous verdict" even if they proved the case.
That being said... he states that the DOJ might try to charge him to "prove him wrong" if he keeps up the rhetoric. That would be an admission that Garland is thin skinned and prone to political pressure.
At the end of the day I stand behind the basic logic.
They have had 150 documente that are "marked" classified for months that came from Mar-a-Lago. If having documents was a crime, why haven't they charged them. There is no law that says you can keep 150, but not 300.
Ch, keep defending Trump who after failing to turn over requested documents that he should never have taken to his home in the first place, then lied that he had turned them all over when he had not.
"The Counsel to the President has informed me that, in light of the particular circumstances presented here, President Biden defers to my determination, in consultation with the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel, regarding whether or not I should uphold the former President’s purported ‘protective assertion of executive privilege,'"
so Biden lied about knowing nothing
and the FBI ordered Trump not to the move the documents from Mar-a-Lago in June
then raided him months later
I guess Trump should not have followed the FBI orders
entrapment again ???
